Alright Mr. Blob, we'll see how you fare against a Ground-type. That looks like the only reasonable response to this one.

Round 1: A whole lotta setup
♫Battle

And they're off! The blob starts off with his Crustle, Marcel, while Atheno leads off with an unnamed Nidoqueen. This Nidoqueen starts the fight by hurling some very, very nasty Taunts at Marcel, pissing him off to no end! The Crustle retaliates by Struggling to hum a disorienting tune...and it works! The Bug has managed to drop Nidoqueen's offenses!

This doesn't stop her from continuing her setup, however, and she startas chucking Stealth Rocks at Marcel. The Crustle, in turn, scuttles up and smacks Nidoqueen around, Knocking the Leftovers she was holding Off! Atheno's Nidoqueen begins her offensive proper by triggering a Powerful Earthquake from underneath Marcel, sending him flying...only to trigger an Earthquake of his own upon landing! NEVERMIND MARCEL QUAKES AND NIDOQUEEN COUNTERS.

Blob Atheno leads in terms of health, but the fight's only beginning, and this could easily turn around. What'll happen next? Find out after these messages!

Blob?

Alright, let's begin. :D

Begin by tearing up the field with Stone Edge! Try to kick up as much sand as possible. Follow with a Dig, but if Nidoqueen uses Counter, intentionally miss and leave yourself some holes through which you can fit and use for future Evades.

Sand Attack using Stone Edge/Tear up Field -> Dig (Underground) -> Dig (Come up)
IF Nidoqueen uses Counter A3, intentionally miss, leaving holes in the ground for future evasions.

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Hang on. Unless I've typo'd and can't see it, I should have Countered A3, which gives me a bit of extra damage. And I'm pretty sure that you have to actually use an attack with intent to damage under Taunt, like the rules for combinations. But definitely the first thing.

Round 2: I AM A DORF AND I'M DIGGING A HOLE! DIGGY DIGGY HOLE! DIGGING A HOLE!

We're back! Atheno's Nidoqueen starts off the round Digging underneath the earth! In an attempt to get to her, Marcel uses his Stone Edged claws to rip up the earth, but to no avail.

Marcel starts Digging himself to hide underground...but he's too pissed to hold it, and resurfaces underneath Nidoqueen too soon! However, she just takes it in stride and Chills.

This time, BOTH mons Dig underground, but Nidoqueen's superior speed causes her to come up too soon, missing Marcel entirely while she takes the brunt of the Crustle's own attack!

Looks like the Blob's leading currently, but one false step could lead to a turnabout. What'll happen next? Find out after the break!

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Surely if Crustle can't execute Blob's actions as they are then they fail and he has to re-order, as normal?

<Objection> i'm looking at the thread and trying to make sense of what's going on
<Objection> if i've understood correctly
<Objection> a1 was supposed to be a combo of sand-attack and stone edge
<Objection> this was deemed not feasible?
<Matezoide> Blob wanted Crustle to use Stone Edge on the field, to lift sand, i believe
<Matezoide> But no, it was not a combo
<Objection> i'm guessing it was deemed not feasible since there's then talk of using Dig on a2 in the reffing
<Objection> oh
<Matezoide> Since he was taunted, that wouldnt work, so he was asked to re-order
<Objection> well as far as i am aware, Dig (go down) is not blocked by taunt and Stone Edge is not blocked by taunt either
<Matezoide> Although Blob did not edit his post, he stated that his new orders are for Crustle to use these moves offensively
<Objection> oh
<Objection> i see the problem
<Matezoide> Atheno tried to work around his Dig with his Nido's Dig, but it seems that , due to the taunt, Crustle was forced to attack A2 and A3
<Objection> inanimate blob edited his orders after Athenodoros posted his
<Matezoide> No, not that
<Objection> actually that is a problem
<Matezoide> Blob stated what his new orders were and then Atheno ordered
<Alakazam> Blob edited something against danmantincan this morning too
<Objection> wait so he told Atheno that his orders were going to be
<Objection> "Sand Attack using Stone Edge/Tear up Field -> Dig (Underground) -> Dig (Come up)
<Objection> IF Nidoqueen uses Counter A3, intentionally miss, leaving holes in the ground for future evasions."
<Matezoide> What did he edit against Dan, exactly?
<Objection> before Atheno posted his orders?
<Engineer> Objection
<Engineer> blob changed nothing significant
<Matezoide> No, he told that his new actions are ''Use these moves offensively'', so from what i gathered, they were Stone Edge -> Dig -> Dig
<Alakazam> No?
<Objection> that contradicts what his post says tho
<Objection> at least
<Alakazam> That's what I was asking before, but I don't think anyone answered
<Objection> regarding the Dig part
<Matezoide> Heres his post where he changes his orders
<Matezoide> http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4615427&postcount=9
<Objection> yeah i have the thread open already
<Engineer> what i don't get is
<Matezoide> Oh yeah
<Matezoide> Derp :p
<Engineer> why did atheno post
<Engineer> and then post again /after/ the reffing saying it should've been a reorder
<Matezoide> Then Atheno ordered and tried to work around his Dig, but it failled and he got a disvantage atm
<Matezoide> Thats what i dont get, Engi
<Engineer> surely he realized that that should've been a reorder
<Objection> ok, if i am to assume that by "Alright, inflict that damage, Marcel."
<Objection> he meant his orders were not-RP'd, not-special-in-any-way
<Objection> Stone Edge - Dig - Dig
<Objection> then that's legal
<Matezoide> Thats what i believe that he meant, and if Atheno ordered regardless, i assume so did he
<Objection> so ... the Stone Edge should've just been reffed as a regular Stone Edge
<Matezoide> And thats how it was reffed, afaik
<Matezoide> It used Stone Edge, which missed due to Queen's Dig
<Objection> no it wasn't
<Objection> "But Marcel tore up the ground trying! (Holey Ground, Rock- and Ground-types get +1 Def, Dig costs 1 less energy)"
<Lad> Well, I thought that might work, but I can fix that up if need be
<Matezoide> It hit the ground upon missing, which accidentaly damaged the ground
<Objection> that is not what happens when you normally use Stone Edge
<Matezoide> I guess Lad wanted some RPing?
<Objection> which would be OK if the battlers had specified RPing
<Objection> however, i thought we established that blob's orders changed to not-RP ones
<Objection> tbh, i think if you just remove that special effect of the Stone Edge and remove any impact it had on this round, everything should be ok

So it's looking like Blob's in the right, but I'll have to edit out the holey ground bit.

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
But like Objection said, Dig (Go Underground) is legal under Taunt, so it doesn't really make sense for blob's post to cover something that was already perfectly fine. That's why I assumed it was still in tact. I'd at least like to reorder given that blob's post makes it sound me he is replacing illegal orders, not all non-damaging ones just out of the blue. Which I'm still not convinced he wasn't.

Athenodoros, there has been an official ruling on the subject and I would like for it to be honored. Now, I would like to move the match along. Please order - I'll call DQ in 3 days.

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Sorry, didn't realise that it had been that long already. Missed a few days. But calm down. It's not all that. It'll be okay.

Nonetheless, if you're going to be like that then here:

Taunt ~ Earth Power ~ Flamethrower
IF
he uses an Evasive/Protective move A1, Chill and move actions along
IF he uses a damaging Ground-type move, use Counter and move actions along.

Round 3: Shake it!

We're back! Nidoqueen starts the round by slinging a barrage of epithets at Marcel, her Taunts pissing the Crustle off to no end! In response, Marcel takes a Shadowy Claw and swipes at her for a decent amount of damage, and then plunges it into the ground, triggering an Earthquake! Atheno's Nidoqueen, however, is prepared for this, and Counters it for an impressive amount of damage...Unfortunately, in trying to do it again, she falls to Marcel triggering a second Earthquake.

First blood goes to the Blob, but Atheno can still make a comeback. How will this play out? Find out after the break!

Round 4: I considered giving Mara a cameo, what with the Iron Head innuendos and all, but thought better of it

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen! As you'll recall, Atheno's Nidoqueen fell in the last round, and he has brought out his Escavalier, ready to joust her way to victory!

Albeit only slightly, Marcel has the speed advantage, and rains a Rock Slide upon Escavalier, who rams him with her Iron Head...that sounded really dirty, now that I think about it...Anyway, out to get rid of that Occa berry, Marcel takes a big Bug Bite out of it! And then...Escavalier rams her Iron Head into him again.

Rock Slide, Iron Head, phallic reference, etc.
