Seems like it would work. Based on the Q&A on that page, it seems like a good sign when it says that you can set up a WEP network with it. Also, according to the virutal router plus' page of supported devices (http://virtualrouter.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Supported Devices), that one seems to be on there but in the table there is a "a" in the name that isn't on the Amazon page (could just be a typo though).

In general, you want it to say yes next to hosted network supported when you type "netsh wlan show drivers" into the CMD. I've read online that if there is a Win 7 logo on the box, it supports hosted networks (so it should say yes for that dongle). If it says no, then I don't think you are going to get instacheck to work.

But to answer your question, it seems like that one would work, but I cannot say for certain as I have not tried it myself.

Edit: Seems like the Uan and the Un might be different devices. So now I'm not as sure. I have the NetGear N-300 USB adapter (WNA 3100) and that works.

Edit 2: Sorry, kinda distracted. I'd say that if the dongle is on that virtual router page I sent you, it stands a pretty good chance of working.

Do u still need the laptop to be conncected with a Ethernet cable ? Also, any opinions if Panda Ultra WiFi Usb Adapter will work too?

I will post in this thread as well as on the "Pokemon X/Y Instacheck Shiny Value" group on Facebook. I will be doing the giveaway mainly on the group page so keep a look out if you are interested in the Datinis. I believe most of them have 4-5 perfect IVs with an Adamant nature.

I just registered because I need help. I read through like 15 pages but apparently no one else had this problem or I didn't see it.
I can start the hotspot perfectly, but when I try to connect to it on my 3DS it has this grey locked icon and says "security settings are not supported". Does anyone know how I can fix it?

You probably have a WEP/ router or settings double check.
