Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Scald

Jellicent can eat anything Diance might throw at it, and, if it gets in a 1v1 situation with Diance, it can taunt Diance and keep it from setting up trick room. Jellicent can then 2HKO with scald and also deny switchin to Mega Camerupt, which is common on TR teams, and it's definitely good to keep it from firing off attacks.

252+ SpA Life Orb Diancie Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 12 SpD Jellicent: 175-208 (43.3 - 51.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Jellicent Scald vs. 232 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 108-128 (36.1 - 42.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Kinda shaky, I know, but jellicent can recover off all damage and whittle down Diancie.

Bronzong as Counter

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

One of the best counters in the tier for every threatening pokemon and diancie is no exception. It eats up all the hits from it, gains boost from trick room, and can strike back hard.

24 Atk Life Orb Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Bronzong: 62-74 (18.3 - 21.8%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Life Orb Diancie Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Bronzong: 60-70 (17.7 - 20.7%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Bronzong Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 220-264 (72.3 - 86.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I don't want to bog down the thread, but perhaps this is the reason:

252+ SpA Life Orb Diancie Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 216+ SpD Drapion: 208-247 (60.6 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

I honestly believe specially defensive Drap to be somewhat outdated anyway.

AV Tangrowth as a check.

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Focus Blast
- Earthquake

Tangrowth can live a hit from Diancie and has a pretty good chance to KO back with its STAB, getting a confirmed kill after rocks. Switching in is rather risky with hazards up.

252+ SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 162-192 (40.1 - 47.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Tangrowth Leaf Storm vs. 232 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 290-344 (96.9 - 115%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

Ferroseed @ Eviolite
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Gyro Ball / Seed Bomb

Ferroseed is a Counter to OTR Diancie, being able to resist it's Dual STABs and take little from Earth Power, and can easily set up Spikes on it and stall it out with Leech Seed and Protect. The moves in the last slot are mostly for preference; Gyro Ball hits Diancie harder while also hitting fast things like Aerodactyl hard, or Seed Bomb can hit stuff like Samurott harder. Overall, just watch out for Magneton, and Ferroseed is an amazing counter to OTR Diancie.

252+ SpA Life Orb Diancie Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Ferroseed: 49-58 (16.7 - 19.8%) -- guaranteed 6HKO
0 Atk Life Orb Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Ferroseed: 51-60 (17.4 - 20.5%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Diancie Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Ferroseed: 62-74 (21.2 - 25.3%) -- 0.1% chance to 4HKO

0 Atk Ferroseed Gyro Ball (61 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 108-132 (44.8 - 54.7%) -- 32.4% chance to 2HKO
0 Atk Ferroseed Seed Bomb vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 72-86 (29.8 - 35.6%) -- 25.1% chance to 3HKO

- Megahorn

Check

Escavalier exporting excellent overall bulk and virtue of its typing becomes a really nice check for offensive trick room diancie. Taking moonblast and earth power for days! Only a check cause LO diamond storm does a ton of damage, having a chance of 2hkoing after rocks so yeah, play carefully and this will do.

Missed this 4 days ago and yet the reservation isnt updated, smh.

Alright, time to update this thread once more. Thanks for your contributions everyone, winners are as follows:

Counter
: Jellicent (Thatwackcruton) | Bronzong (Chompers) | Alomomola (Ryoma Nagare)
Check: Venusaur (Arifeen) | Escavalier (MrAldo) | Tangrowth (Mentalist Swag)
Special mention: Ferroseed (BrandonBeast)
Beautiful, we can move on to the next mon!

Victim of this week is:

Manectric @ Life Orb
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP / 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower / Overheat

One of ladder less favorite mons because apparently jolteon is the only good electric type! Sarcasm (and salt) aside, manectric can be a really scary mon to face, unlike jolteon, electric checks like mega steelix and virizion cant simply switch into it thanks to its decent coverage. Discuss!

DO YOUR RESERVATIONS ON 48 HOURS OR ILL TAKE THE RESERVATION FOR MYSELF. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. IT TAKES 5 MINUTES.

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 28 Atk / 232 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- Megahorn / Swords Dance

Rhyperior is a solid Soft Counter to Manectric, as it is immune to it's Electric STAB, resists Overheat, and is only 4HKOed by HP Ice. It's only a soft counter however, due to the possibility of HP Grass or HP Water over HP Ice.

252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Hidden Power Ice vs. 248 HP / 232 SpD Solid Rock Rhyperior: 129-152 (29.7 - 35.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

28+ Atk Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manectric: 486-572 (172.9 - 203.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Sashed Duggy as a Check

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Earthquake
- Reversal
- Memento
- Stealth Rock

Dugtrio makes an especially good check to Manectric for its obvious ability to trap it remove it easily. If it's able it get in at full health, it can set up rocks and then KO with earthquake on turn two. It can also switch in on Manectric from full health if there are no rocks up on your side of the field. However, these situational conditions leave it as a check and not a counter to Manectric.

AV Tangrowth as a check

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Knock Off
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire
To the average player this may seem like an OU set, but it's actually been used in the past in RU with decent success by many users, the first I remember seeing is diogo but there could be more. Anyway AV Tangrowth makes a decent check to Manectric. It's able to switch-in and beat it if it goes for any non-fire move. Even if predicted, you can switch out and recover HP while forcing mane to take LO damage. It's bulk is really suprising and no combination of fire move+Tbolt
--0 SpA Tangrowth Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Manectric: 229-271 (81.4 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

--252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 60-70 (14.8 - 17.3%) -- guaranteed 6HKO after Stealth Rock
--252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Overheat vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 231-273 (57.1 - 67.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Recover
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Scald

Quagsire walls Manectric to hell and back, and can OHKO it with Earthquake and keep healthy with Recover.

0 Atk Quagsire Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Manectric: 288-338 (103.2 - 121.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 148 SpD Quagsire: 86-101 (21.8 - 25.6%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Lanturn as a counter

Lanturn @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 72 SpD / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Volt Switch
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Grass

252+ SpA Choice Specs Lanturn Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Manectric: 229-270 (81.4 - 96%) 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Overheat vs. 0 HP / 72 SpD Lanturn: 91-107 (23.2 - 27.3%) guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock

Overheat is Manectric's best move against Lanturn, yet it only does minimal damage. In return, Lanturn has a big chance to OHKO (guaranteed after Spikes). Lanturn can tank hits all day and fight back with only one. Also, Volt Absorb allows Lanturn to shut down Volt Switch, cutting momentum for the opposing team.

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power

- Toxic

Seismatoad is a good counter as it resistances manectrics stab and eats up all of its other attacks.

252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Overheat vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Seismitoad: 100-118 (24.1 - 28.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Toxic
- Earth Power

Gastrodon is a great counter to Manectric as it eats up every single thing Manectric can throw at it, while being able to recover off any previous damage it has taken throughout the battle, unlike most other Manectric counters.

252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Overheat vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Gastrodon: 94-110 (22 - 25.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Gastrodon Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Manectric: 272-324 (96.7 - 115.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

Druddigon @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Punch
- Gunk Shot

Role: Counter

This is probably the third or fourth time I've nominated AV Druddigon, lol. Anyway, it can easily sponge anything Manectric can throw at it, even HP Ice. In return, Gunk Shot is an OHKO after Stealth Rock, and its other attacks do decent damage as well.

252 SpA Life Orb Manectric Hidden Power Ice vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Druddigon: 109-130 (30.7 - 36.7%) -- 68.1% chance to 3HKO (guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock)

252+ Atk Sheer Force Druddigon Gunk Shot vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manectric: 265-312 (94.3 - 111%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)
252+ Atk Druddigon Dragon Claw vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manectric: 204-241 (72.5 - 85.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Druddigon Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manectric: 136-161 (48.3 - 57.2%) -- 93.4% chance to 2HKO (guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock)
252+ Atk Sheer Force Druddigon Fire Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manectric: 167-197 (59.4 - 70.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Wouldn't that be a check? Manectric can 3HKO but if Drud switches in on HP Ice and one of its moves takes 2HKOs Manectric instead of OHKO Manectric is faster and can deal the 2 more HP Ices to finish Druddigon off. I get it's quite rare and specific, but it does say "under the worst conditions".

dclaw+sucker kills and sucker has priority

anyway cradily is a nice counter to this, taking a low damage from every hit mane has and can setup curses for free, while also ppstalling with recover
