  • Bismarck was known as the Iron Chancellor. And yes, he had to put his foot down. So have I, but when I don't have any real power, then there's nothing that can be done about it.
Thanks, but I honestly didn't see the comparison. I know who he was, but how do I remind you of him?

Also, less talk more saw. If I was in charge, I would have taken the hatchet to a LOT of threads by now...
As in Otto Von Bismarck? How?

As for feeling unwanted, it's not that. It's the knowledge that in spite of everything, I'm not taken seriously enough to make things matter. No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, people know that their leader is lax and everyone else can't do jack except for the occasional mod that gets angry enough to descend into the social groups and ban someone.
I have, and look where it got me! I've spent a lot of effort in making TRC a better place, only to be undermined at every corner!

What's the point of being Head Admin if I can't really do a damn thing with my job? I turn around for one DAY, and I find that some stupid ass attack that I would have stopped is launched! I go away for a week, and a month of hard work at reducing spam is completely destroyed and then made WORSE!

I've felt like I've had little actual backing here. I know for sure I've had zero from the other leaders at TRC, and you, the only one with the real power to take permanent care of the trash, only gives me a heads up and a pat on the head. Then you watch me burn as I try and fail to make TRC something better than it was yesterday.

    Where does it end?
Weekly tournament, I'm going to be leaving for it in about half an hour.
Over in the US, its $10 entry with $200 prizes,
here? $10 entry with $30 store credit -.-'

but, at least you can use the credit to enter more tournaments, and the opponents suck, so I can play for free
So what are we doing about this mess?

Because my first and main idea got shot down in flames by the direction you took it in.
That's partly why I wanted everything to be on neutral ground. Those people you listed? They're prominent over there.
If it's not a TRC-only event, then create a group for it. I've seen you create groups for LOTS of TRC-related stuff. This would be no different. Even if someone hosts, the fact that we had the cohones to show up would be a really big plus for us.
We reach members not in TRC by going where they are! We don't host an event and expect everybody to simply rush in and sign up. That's not how you recruit people.

If we put it out there and the group we reach for and buddy up to dies, so be it! The members that are active there will want to join us because we bothered enough to host an event for them!

If we've got such incredible resources as to host a massive party OUTSIDE of our stomping grounds and then invite EVERYONE to it, or even have the guts to have them host it and us put in our part, people will respect us for it.
"it will be a trc-only event with maybe 3 or 4 other people at most"

I'm not the only one saying it, by the way. Look, you told me I could call the shots. So why am I being shot down? I put up that thread for an extremely specific reason, to meet an even more specific goal: to improve our image by going OUTSIDE of our own fold, OUT THERE, and proving to everyone else that we're better than simply sitting tightly in our own group and doing everything we can to make sure nothing else lives.

Instead, an idea made towards that goal has become simply another TRC-only event. Granted, we need an event, but we need to get our rep improved even more badly.
True, but look at our roster. 500+ people. It's kind of pointless to make it a TRC-centered event the first time around. Give the little guy a chance to shine, and then we take it home and make a big thing of it.

The whole point of all of this is to show people that they don't have to be a member of TRC to have a good time with us. So if they have to become a member simply to participate in the event, it loses its purpose and becomes a TRC-only thing...

Which wasn't the goal in the first place.
The thing is, the event is supposed to be unrestricted to entire groups (and their leaders) participating, including BABA, Aero, TRC, New Group -- you name it, that group can participate.

I'm trying to get EVERYBODY in on this. That's pretty much part of my plan to make things work.
I hate to oppose you in this front, but the event I'm giving ideas for is probably best held in a group specifically made for said event. it'll allow for the maximum amount of people willing to participate and battle.

Not to mention that there are going to be loads of threads dedicated to making it work.
Cool. I'm already talking to people right now. I assure you that something will be done. BUT, people have to listen to me, or I can't get things done, which means things will pretty much go farther south than the South Pole.
Im just getting back into the rhythm of things - snooping about to see what Ive missed in this past 4 months or so
Hey, whatever you do, please make sure people don't mess around with the thread I just created. It's extremely important to our future, trust me.

As for myself, I'm going around and cleaning up a couple messes. If you want, please offer your support as a fellow TRC leader. If you choose not to, just realize that the stuff I'm doing is pretty much going to keep TRC from looking like a bunch of fools to everyone else.

I'm probably one of only perhaps five people in TRC (at most) who've actually seen the bigger picture and knows something needs to be done about it. I'm trying to change things around here, and I'm trying to change them for the good of all.
I know some people who can code in Java and HTML - but they definately wouldn't do it free - and I dont have time to do it myself - I could help a bit when I have time, but I doubt it'd be worthwhile
