  • My opponent( Absdaddy) has been busy with work and might only be available when it would be the middle of the night for me in my time zone( which wouldn't really work ). I told him message me when he's able to be available, but he hasn't responded since Monday. I cannot be available on Sundays, which is the deadline. So do I call activity or will there be an extension?

I probs won't give an extension so you might get activity.

hmm, it appears he responded to me earlier today, but I do not have availability on Sundays and had previously told him. I call activity then.
Staying up all night has give me some time to think, and I realise some big things. I see everything so clearly now, what really matters, why I'm really doing this. I'm doing it to help the world, but more than that, I'm doing it for the people I love.

    I'm doing it for you.
Regarding the ubers tourney, am I set to face xyw or am I subbed to face somebody else? Please message back as soon as possible.

I'll do a match status check in a couple days, after which you may be subbed in. For future tournaments do not neglect your opponent for a week when there are people on the substitute list that are active and ready to play.

Alex Walls' opponent dropped out, so you were subbed in.

S2 actually has the least fluff of the entire series due to the pacing of the three act structure. I also did account the time for the intros, and they didn't even start doing the "last time on" intro extension until the middle of S2. In regards to the character development obviously it's all not "essential", but it's world building, and as you periodically cut it down you periodically cut down the quality of the product. As for the exact threshold that would define the cutoff of "good" I don't think you can even meet that because so much time has to be allocated to everything else (inciting moment, ticking clock element, basic plot progression, situational exposition). It's a challenging premise with a lot of characters, a long story to tell, and a lot of development that needs to happen. You can't fit all of that in and make it work, something is going to get left and as a result it won't be able to compare at all to the original, so then what's the point.

i've always maintained you can't compare the the original, ever, a remake shouldn't be compared to the original for it's extreme detailing, but only for the overall plot. you can't compare the development done in over 23 hours to that done in 1 hour, and imo you shouldn't. When you watch a remake, you shouldn't expect it to be like the original, just expect it to be good in itself while following the major plot. Dragon ball evolution wasn't bad because it was so different from the anime/manga, it was bad because bad acting, animation, and other stuff that i didn't have the guts to watch. constantly comparing it to the original will always lead to disappointment. and now i don't have an ending not so im in a fix, so have a nice day n_n

Remakes always need to be compared to originals. If a remake doesn't do something better or different than the original then its existence isn't justified. A good example of a remake that is "better" than the original is Ocean's 11, where the source material is taken, updated, and even given a clever new angle. You watch a remake with the intent of seeing certain aspects of the original fixed or better executed or given a new flare. It's the contrasting script structures between ATLA and feature films that ensures that the project would fail, not the fact that it gets compared to a high standard.
