I encountered her again here's what she says
Lead the way for any tourists that get lost in Mauville City? Unless you're suffering from a particularly crippling case of missing orientation skills, there's literally no way you could get lost in there, as it is in R/S/E. The place has TWO roads, one of which doubles as an entry to the city from the south, and a single fence preventing you from accessing the Game Corner from the East, as well as preventing you from going straight through the city in a north-south direction. Unless you count the half-second of "how do I get around this fence? Oh, right, around the Mart" as "getting lost", this quote is either the biggest exaggeration in Pokémon since Magcargo's skin temperature, or Mauville's makeover is way more significant than simply slapping on a roof. Personally, I'm hoping (although not betting) for something similar to Lumiose, with many small streets, shortcuts and so many details you could get lost in there.

That would be pretty cool. If I remember correctly from the data dumps there's the Mauville Food Court (or something to that effect) where you can have battles. I'm willing to bet that it will replace the casino, since apparently simulated gambling in a video game is the devil. It will (I'm hoping) be Hoenn's version of Le Wow, and knowing TrollFreak there will be just as many Protect shenanigans. This would be a huge improvement over the original games, where if you wanted to train mons for the Frontier, you had to grind against the E4 over and over.

At the same time, I sort of hope Mauville City stays tiny. The reason? Think about how often you fly to it and travel through it. Lumiose City, while huge, is pretty darn confusing if you don't have a map in front of you. With 3 distinct sections, an awkward control system, and probably more Cafes than the rest of the buildings combined, I try to avoid Lumiose City as much as possible (the exception being, of course, when breeding).

Finally, I remember years and years ago when my friend said that he actually did get lost/trapped in Mauville City, and that he had to start a new game. I think what he was talking about was actually the Gym; the puzzle is actually rather difficult to an 8-year-old (as we were at the time). I know it's a far cry, but maybe that's what she was talking about?

4 hours of SR still didn't receive the quest, insert drama song.

Edit: I wonder what is the chance of finding the secret quest, like a shiny? Like Pokerus? or both at the same time D:
I can confirm that SRing does work. And also that it took hours to get it. Luckily, it's not attention-intensive, so I could do other things at the same time.
Now having completed it, it hardly seems worth it. Oh well :/

Another thing I noted whilst looking through the script files from the datamining, is that there seems to be text from when there is no Kecleon in front of Steven's door. But it didn't seem very exciting, and I couldn't guess any way to make it happen. The guy just says something like "Oh, the invisible thing left! Now Steven can get in his house again!".
Also, text for the nugget guy is in there too, and no clue when that might happen either. Steven says something like "Oh, there's a weird guy ahead", you meet the guy and get a nugget, then Steven says "It seems you met that strange man as well" and you get to transfer a nugget with your Glalie, heart scales etc. I don't remember finding the script for the secret mission, but it's pretty generic, so i probably just missed it.

Random events happening occasionally in the demo is a kind of interesting idea, but not when they're this ridiculously rare!

So no Steelixite?

Maybe New Mauville was combined with Mauville City thus we have a multi-layed city with an above ground section and below ground section. Thus Sea Mauville was created to be a replacement quest for New Mauville now being used.

How interesting, I didn't think they would do that though I guess that answers why there's a Kecleon in front of Steven's house instead of its door being closed. I wonder how you would unlock that, a Nugget would sure help with money at the beginning of the game.

... but I would still rather have the Steelixite.

Or maybe Sea Mauville is just a moniker for New Mauville.
And they didn't want to get too convoluted.

And Steven's house is technically locked in the demo, like every other building in Mossdeep. Same as the space center where Cozmo's assistant uselessly obstructs you from entering.
The script itself is sitting deep down in the data, but it's probably meant to only be used in the official game. Sooo there isn't even any unlocking involved.

I feel like it's pretty important to note that in the datadump, there's no location data for the Abandoned Ship. It's likely that this Sea Mauville area just replaced it, since even though we can see that there's an accessible area on the in-game MultiNav map where the Abandoned Ship was in RSE, there's no indication that it actually is the Abandoned Ship.

Supporting this since as I said in a previous post, you can find the scientist from the abandoned ship from RSE in the demo and specifically says that he was sent by Captain Stern to find a rare Scanner on the Sea Mauville.

Edit: also nice nickname mate. You're going places

So do all of us.

Oh, and with that Gold Nugget, how do you get that? SR in front of Steven some more? And was there anything more than just the secret mission, or am I just wasting my time trying to get something that doesn't exist?

EDIT: Also, where did you read through ORAS's coding? XD.
EDIT2: Found it! Also, what are these moves that were in the coding?
Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Land’s Wrath. I know light of ruin and stuff, but not these ones.
EDIT3: Apparently there's a challenger Theodore, Timothy, and then someone else as well... Interesting... How do you unlock this now...? So many hidden quests in this...
EDIT4: And apparently you can make the Kecleon in front of Steven's house move out of the way so that you can see his Rock Collection...

EDIT2: Found it! Also, what are these moves that were in the coding?
Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Land’s Wrath. I know light of ruin and stuff, but not these ones.
Land's Wrath is Zygarde's signature move. Thousand Waves and Thousand Arrows are currently unreleased in any format but are highly suspected to be the eventual signature moves of new Zygarde forms come the Return to Kalos games.

So I went through the text dump here: http://projectpokemon.org/research/oras/a073.txt
And found some interesting things.

In the TV programs, there is a little info about Gym Leaders:
Gym Leader Wattson—man, is he amazing— traveled all over the world and learned all kinds of city-planning things, and he used ’em to make Mauville two stories tall! Counting the roof, he tripled the area of the city. And the population has QUADRUPLED!
...
Professor Birch and the Petalburg Gym Leader, that new guy Norman, went to college together. If you could find a place like the one they went to, you could study both battling and Pokémon research!
In the Trainer pre- and after- battle text, there are some nuggets of info:
Huh? You aren’t with that girl who uses Dragon types?! Oh man... I feel silly for being scared.
...
Ahoy, there! Are you going out to Sea Mauville, too?
I might not make it...
Sea Mauville is like a hidden tourist spot around here.
...
That girl may have totally destroyed me earlier, but it can’t go that way all the time!
Now that I’ve gotten a good look at you, you’re that kid from the other day, right? Please, you’ve got to help Archie and Shelly! The way that girl handled her Pokémon... She may actually be better than Shelly or even Archie himself!
That Whismur that broke through here earlier was terrifying. The lady with it was awesome, too, but the Whismur scared the pants off me.
...
I can’t get enough of the way you go floating up softly in this Gym.
...
There’s a man called the Berry Master. His garden is filled with uplifting fragrances.
...
Go back and forth between Lilycove and Slateport, that’s what I do. It’s my hobby—going from port to port to take in Pokémon Contest Spectaculars.
...
You’ve mastered the Inverse-o-matic to such a high level! As the developer, I couldn’t be happier!
...
Ace Trainers can even appear in the sea! Yes, even those who can’t swim!
I’m gonna fall in!
Whoa, I was just about to fall off my Pokémon. It’s not easy being an Ace Trainer.
...
Apparently in the Hoenn region a legend has been passed down that it’s the birthplace of Mega Evolution.
...
To defeat me, a descendant of the ancient Sootopolis people, and even when I was holding nothing back...
The girl using dragon types must be Zinnia. Ace Trainers are surfing now?
Seems like trainers give you items if you rematch them enough. Did they always do this?
Also, Teams Aqua and Magma have almost the same lines. I don't think the story will be like Emerald's much.

The Trainer in the Battle Tower that you could mentor is back, I think... in the Battle Resort:
I knew my team makeup was still off. Then...I guess I need to take this guy out. No, if I do that, I’ll be wide open for... Hmm... Then if I replace this move here... Yeah... Yeah, that should do it! Oh! Excuse me! I couldn’t help myself! But you’re just as brilliant in battle as ever, [VAR TRNAME(0000)]! Still, don’t you count on me just losing to you forever. I’ve met a lot of people who have helped me grow since coming to the Battle Resort, and it has reminded me all over again how much fun it is to really go all out in battle! Thanks again, [VAR TRNAME(0000)]! Let’s battle again sometime!
Text File 42 is the demo-specific file. There is no mention of nuggets here, or anything else. But the format for Pokemon means perhaps 2 could be sent?

Text file 83 is odd:
Schools
Parties
Masters
Festivals
Dances
Songs
Collections
Qualities
Houses
-dexes
Text file 87 is Egg Locations:
a stranger
Day Care helpers
a treasure hunter
an old hot-springs visitor
Text file 89 contains two lines, and is probably to do with secret bases:
[VAR TRNAME(0000)]’s Base
Team [VAR 01AA(0000)]’s Base
Text file 95 seems to be a list of 3d models? Anyway, there may be some HGSS-style enemy team dressup! BHBOSS is the Battle Maison bosses, I think. Looker returns! And the only triathletes present are male...
MAGMA_HEROINE_RS
AQUA_HEROINE_RS
MAGMA_HERO_RS
AQUA_HERO_RS
...
BHBOSS1_RS
BHBOSS2_RS
BHBOSS3_RS
BHBOSS4_RS
...
HANDSOME_RS
...
TRIRUN_M_RS
TRIBIKE_M_RS
TRISWIM_M_RS
Text file 113 is total gibberish on my computer. It may be Japanese text? See also text file 123.

Rayquaza's Mega Evolution:
[VAR TRNAME(0001)]’s fervent wish has reached [VAR PKNICK(0000)]!
[VAR TRNAME(0001)]’s fervent wish has reached the wild [VAR PKNICK(0000)]!
[VAR TRNAME(0001)]’s fervent wish has reached the opposing [VAR PKNICK(0000)]!
And the old classic:
Your father’s words echo in your mind... “[VAR TRNAME(0000)]! This isn’t the time for that!”
Sorry for the long post... I hope some other people find these things interesting!

Kurona, I see, thanks! We'll probably be getting that Eternal Floette in the XY2, or Z, right? :(. I want it soo badly, if I ever got it, it would never leave my team, ever XD.

thelaytonmobile, Interesting, it's usually "Your mother's words echoed in your mind", and the nugget stuff is in the script dump. I'm still reading through them myself, and couldn't be bothered to read through all that TV text XD.

EDIT: Why are the names of Kalos routes in there? Maybe we go to Kalos in this version of the games? wishful thinking XD. AZ's name is also in there, and speaking of Hoenn being the origin of Mevos, MAYBE AZ GOES TO HOENN AND YOU GET FLOETTE HERE!!!!! (Wishful thinking+hype XD).

New games always build off of old games.
A ton of things from XY are leftover including: Map names, sound files, model files, every trainer art, key items

The Kalos routes are leftovers, I think. Check out the key items from Diamond and Pearl, for example!

Also, yeah I went through the script: http://projectpokemon.org/research/oras/a081.txt
Everything non-demo is gone, pretty much.
So, if anyone fancies resetting for the Nugget mission, the phrase to look for is
There’s a rumor that a strange man has been appearing often on a nearby island. These tales give me a bad feeling, so I’d appreciate your company.
I don't think I'll be resetting for this, haha. Also, the script doesn't indicate a way to get Steelix or anything :(

Aww, that's annoying. Guess that's why the Tidal Bell and Unova Relic items are in there? :(.
Probably

By the end of gen 5, I think, it was hilarious because like every single key item dating back to Gen 3 was still sitting in the code.

Whoa, that's a lot of info you found thelaytonmobile! Hmm, let's see...

Gym Leader Wattson; man, is he amazing! Traveled all over the world and learned all kinds of city-planning things, and he used 'em to make Mauville two stories tall! Counting the roof, he tripled the area of the city. And the population has QUADRUPLED!
So sounds like they are going to go with the multi-level city idea. Also I think they took some inspiration from the Special/Adventure manga here. In the Special/Adventure manga, the reason New Mauville was built (by the Trick Master's ancestor) was because he predicted Mauville City would one day get over populated which it did. So it sounds like they sort of went with the manga's idea but made it three stories tall (roof, inner city, underground (New Mauville?)) in order to hold the increased population. No wonder why they need tour guides now.

Professor Birch and the Petalburg Gym Leader, that new guy Norman, went to college together. If you could find a place like the one they went to, you could study both battling and Pokemon research!
We knew Norman and Birch went to college together, unless you were pointing out about the text talking about the college itself. I suppose they could have it, though I have doubts. Maybe in another region?

Huh? You aren't with that girl who uses Dragon types?! Oh man... I feel silly for being scared.
That girl may have totally destroyed me earlier, but it can't go that way all the time!
Now that I've gotten a good look at you, you're that kid from the other day, right? Please, you've got to help Archie and Shelly! The way that girl handled her Pokemon... She may actually be better than Shelly or even Archie himself!
That Whismur that broke through here earlier was terrifying. The lady with it was awesome, too, but the Whismur scared the pants off me.

Hmm, more stuff about Zinnia. But I don't remember her having the Whismer family on her team.

Ahoy, there! Are you going out to Sea Mauville, too?
I might not make it...
Sea Mauville is like a hidden tourist spot around here.
Not much to say, right now I'm still wondering whether Sea Mauville is the replacement for New Mauville (since New Mauville isn't mentioned and with Mauville City's expansion they would need a new secret location for Mauville to be, so why not out at see? Maybe Wattson tried to build an underwater city?) or they renamed the Abandoned Ship that (since Sea Mauville has to do with the Scanner. But I have doubts as the Abandoned ship was originally called the S.S. Cactus and Mauville City isn't a port city. Then again, I suppose Wattson could have tried building a city on a boat). And we know both locations still exist as they're on the map.

Also, the only character I know who says "Ahoy" in the game at the beginning of his sentence is Mr. Briney, and when you first meet him in the game you do pass the Abandoned Ship.

I can't get enough of the way you go floating up softly in this Gym.
What Gym would involve you floating? Mossdeep Gym? We saw a clip of it and you are floating around platforms following dotted paths.

Go back and forth between Lilycove and Slateport, that's what I do. It's my hobby, going from port to port to take in Pokemon Contest Spectaculars.
This is for the S.S. Tidal which Mr. Briney becomes captain of for the post game. So is this Mr. Briney talking for the first captain?

You've mastered the Inverse-o-matic to such a high level! As the developer, I couldn't be happier!
Ah, so more about Proprietor Inver. Sounds like he took his power to someone and they made a machine which can hold Inverse Battles without Inver being involved in the battle himself. But wait, isn't Inver from Kalos? But the events of Gen III took place a few years ago before the events of Kalos... what? Could this maybe be another Inver? Two people named Inver with the same exact psychic Ability? What's the likelyhood of tha... oh what am I saying, this is Pokemon.

Ace Trainers can even appear in the sea! Yes, even those who can't swim!
I'm gonna fall in!
Whoa, I was just about to fall off my Pokemon. It's not easy being an Ace Trainer.
Guessing we'll now have some trainers who we see surfing on their Pokemon... and therefore knocking out their Pokemon means they can't use them and since this one can't swim we've just caused someone to drown. We're the good guys!

Apparently in the Hoenn region a legend has been passed down that it's the birthplace of Mega Evolution.
Oh no, it begins. EVERY region is now going to claim they're the birthplace of Mega Evolution since all of them are going to start discovering legends of Mega Evolution that just so happens to be hidden away until just now.

Kalos: We're the birthplace of Mega Evolution since we have trainers who mastered the art for years.
Hoenn: No, we're the birthplace of Mega Evoltuion because Rayquaza Mega Evolved way before Kalos discovered it!
Kanto: I'd like to point out Mewtwo has not one but two Mega Stones. Being an artificial Pokemon first created in Kanto, that means what we do directly effects Mega Evolution meaning we're the birthplace of Mega Evolution!
Johto: We're soaked with deep traditions, I'm sure we have something saying we're the birthplace of Mega Evolutions somewhere...
Unova: I just want more of my Pokemon to have Mega Evolutions... and I'm sure when they do we'll get an explanation saying we're the birthplace of Mega Evolution.
Sinnoh: Well Arcues created everything and he's one of our Legendaries therefore we're the birthplace of Mega Evolutions.

To defeat me, a descendant of the ancient Sootopolis people, and even when I was holding nothing back...
So either this is Wallace, or maybe Zinnia?

As for everything else, I have no comment.

Ah, it seems like SciresM went on a tour in the demo:

A few changes to the route. Everything looks really lush and nice!
I'm surprised they left so much in the demo's map! Speaking of which, I was watching the flying scene and noticed something:

At 0:58, what's that building on the cliff next to Mossdeep City? You also see if everytime you take of from Mossdeep (5:48 in the video).

Pokémon League.

To be fair, as I said before, the in-game map does show a location where the Abandoned Ship should be, but it doesn't change the fact that there's no location data for the Abandoned Ship in the datamine. New Mauville, however, does have location data. Looks like Mauville is busting out all over.

At 0:58, what's that building on the cliff next to Mossdeep City? You also see if everytime you take of from Mossdeep (5:48 in the video).
Pokémon League.
Yep, that island is Ever Grande City. Looks like they heavily redesigned the League building complex. That'll be exciting to see.
