Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

End of the day (November 3rd) numbers:

Total of eggs hatched: 1150

Total of shinies: You guessed it, still 0

Tomorrow there's more. Will tomorrow be the day that luck finally decides to show up?

I'm sorry to hear that you have terrible luck so far. Try to keep your hopes up!
Well someone needs to be on the unlucky part of the statistics. It seems I'm one of them. :P

Don't worry I won't give up. At least it will make the shiny more valuable to me when it decides to show up.

Hi, new user here, this thread made me want to sign up and help out! I'm currently trying for a few shiny Eevee, which will take me a while anyways, so... I am going to start out by pledging 300 eggs. I obtained the Shiny Charm and I am breeding a male Italian Eevee with an American Eevee. <3

Total Eggs Hatched: 0
Shinies: 0

So I don't spam this thread with my posts, I'll be updating my information on my last egg update for now on, until a new page appears.
So just go up a little and it'll be there, if you're interested in knowing... my luck. (¬_¬)

Update my process:
Eggs hatched: 18500
Shiny got: 32
Personal Ratio: 1:578
Seriously, more than 1000 eggs for my lasted shiny, eevee. Now SHE (lucky me) is a beautiful Glaceon
BTW, topic creator, i see this project had gotten a rather large participant and over 350000 eggs hatched now so we can assume that the shiny charm really increase the shiny breed ratio?

Hello everyone, new Breeder here. I go by Faust, a pleasure to meet you all!
I unlocked my shiny charm a few days ago in an attempt to distract myself from the fact that I currently lack the funds for Omega Ruby! SadPangoro.
I'd like to pledge 300 eggs for the data! I'm currently at the 229 mark of those 300 eggs.
Here's the kicker though:
First Shiny was hatched at egg 96! Unbelievable, right? A shiny Fennekin for my girlfriend.
96 Eggs: Fennekin

I'm looking forward to helping out!

Hello! Just got the Shiny Charm, think I'm going to give this a go. I'm planning to update in increments of 150. I'll simply edit my post when I obtain results in the interest of keeping the thread uncluttered.
I'm currently breeding with a Japanese Ditto and an English Porygon2. Hopefully I'll be fortunate with this...I seem to have had good luck with shinies so far in X and Y.

No luck so far. Oh well, I hear the rate's around 1/512, so 300 eggs weren't even at the target odds anyways! I'm going to pledge another 300 and post my results after that's finished.

Eggs hatched: 300
Shiny: 0

I was thinking about this right now. Does Ditto still works with Masuda Method? I'm just asking this because I'm using a Ditto and when you have the shiny charm and reach the number of eggs I already hatched (1150), without any luck, I think anyone starts to think if their doing something wrong.
So this is my question, to those of you who got shinies with few eggs hatched, did you use a Ditto or used 2 Pokémon of the same species?

Ditto or any other Pokemon works as long as they have different language tags. Most of my shinies came from a German Ditto bred with my English Pokemon.

Edit: Besides, loads of us have dry streaks every now and then. I just got over an almost 2000 dry streak myself, some of us have only managed to hatch one shiny in over 2000 eggs! Sorry EnGarde, I love you.

It should be working if you have two Pokemon from two countries that speak different languages. In this case, you should also have the Shiny Charm for the purpose of this test... you may just have terrible luck :P It's okay, I have bad luck most of the time, too, especially hatching eggs. Ah well. It only makes getting a shiny that much more satisfying, amirite? :3

Cheer up men. The more eggs you hatched, the more valuable the shiny when you got it. When i first tried the MM, it took me over 2000 eggs to get a Froekie which had Torrent TT. But i don't give up so now i have more than a whole box with shiny
And yes, for your question i using an Italian Ditto with my own Pokemon

Actually it'd be much easier for me if you simply replied to your own post after updating or posting updates. Going back over every page is very time consuming and frustrating lol and MCScizorite I fixed the sheet so all saves should be on there with correct stats ^_^ everyone else has been updated! Thanx for joining Faust2391 and TheProtobabe you've been added to the sheet now. Happy Hatching everyone!

How ironically. I breeding for a shiny Magnemite for a whole month now but can't get it (i switch pokemon once after awhile to prevent bored) but today, when going to a friend Safari steel to find some Metal Coat, i run into a shiny Magneton. And just in 3 encounters. Too bad it have a Jolly nature. How terrible.

Thank you all for your answers. By no means I intend to give up. It's just, this is the first time I already hatched more then 1000 eggs just to get one shiny. I already did Masuda Method before, one time in my Black cartridge with a Litwick, which appeared in 200 (approximately) eggs and the other in my Y (which is the game I'm using now for shiny Klink) for a shiny Phione, which appeared in 300 (approximately) eggs and those 2 tries was before I got the shiny charm.
So the funny story in the end with me is: When the probability was lower I was more lucky, now that is higher is seems the number of eggs also.

Anyway, let's continue to hatch more eggs, because isn't that the reason we all are here in this forum?! :P

Have you ever try using the hatching o power? At level 3 it reduce the hatching time by half. If you shake the 3DS to get more than 4000 steps per day, it recharge so fast that it almost never run out. With that, i can hatch about 80-100 eggs per hour (assume the egg need the standard 5500 steps). It really speed up the process.

Currently trying to hatch a shiny axew

batch 100: none
batch 200: none
batch 300: none
batch 400: none
batch 500: none
on 600 right now. :( :(

I see people complaining about "high" sey egg streaks. It took me 2500 eggs to get my mawile! And boy was it worth it. It even had flawless ivs! After that I got another one in he same batch 70 eggs later, and 600 or something later 2 mudkips in the same streak. My point is, luck WILL turn. Just keep going, you'll get your satisfying shiny! I'll speak to people again after they passed 2500 :P

anyway taking a bit of a break of breeding. Will probably start in 2 weeks for a ralts.
