Overview
########
With its new Mega Evolution, Camerupt has become amazing in VGC 2015. Due to most of Camerupt's threats being around base 100 Speed, Trick Room is very helpful, as it puts Mega Camerupt's base 20 Speed to use. Though Mega Camerupt is viable both in and out of Trick Room, it can be easily outsped and KOed by a faster Water- or Ground-type, so it is preferred to be used on a Trick Room team. With 70 / 100 / 105 bulk, Mega Camerupt can survive a plethora of neutral attacks and super effective Ground-type attacks. Due to its lack of recovery, Camerupt needs support from Pokemon with Wish and Heal Bell. With base 145 Special Attack and Sheer Force, the Base Power of Mega Camerupt's STAB moves, Earth Power and Heat Wave, get tremendously boosted.

Moves
========
Heat Wave and Earth Power are mandatory, as they both get boosted with STAB and Sheer Force. Hidden Power Ice is good for hitting Landorus-T, which is prominent in VGC 2015. Ancient Power can also be used to hit Flying-types super effectively. Protect is used to easily scout the foe's moves.
Set Details
========
252 HP and 252 Special Attack EVs are used due to Mega Camerupt not needing Speed investment, as it is most commonly used on Trick Room teams. The EVs maximize the damage and bulk that Mega Camerupt can deal and get. Don't use regular Camerupt, as it is both frail and weak, whereas its Mega Evolution is better both offensively and defensively. 0 Speed IVs are needed due to the likelihood of Camerupt being used on a Trick Room team.
Usage Tips
========
Try to mostly use Mega Camerupt in Trick Room, as its chances of attacking out of Trick Room are much lower, as it's a Mega Evolution, making its chances of being double targeted much higher. Trick Room only has four turns after being used, so use those turns wisely; don't use them all up from switching in to and out of a teammate. Try to predict when the foe's going to use a status move, as this will provide a free switch for Mega Camerupt; however, try not to mispredict, as even a neutral attack will deal quite some damage to it, and a priority move such as Sucker Punch or Extreme Speed can finish it off next turn.
Team Options
========
A teammate with access to Trick Room such as Cresselia, Jellicent, or Gothitelle is necessary. Mega Camerupt also appreciates Helping Hand users, such as Cresselia, as even a Sheer Force-boosted Heat Wave or Earth Power can't OHKO Aegislash-S. Helping Hand-boosted moves also ensure KOs on Pokemon that are hit neutrally. Redirection is helpful, as Mega Camerupt is easily KOed; Amoonguss and other Pokemon that have access to moves such as Rage Powder help protect Mega Camerupt for a few turns. Pokemon that have access to redirecting abilities, such as Storm Drain are helpful too, as they can nullify Camerupt's main weakness and don't require teammates to take up a moveslot. Mega Camerupt appreciates Pokemon that can take out Water-types, as Mega Camerupt's only reliable way of hitting them super effectively is Hidden Power Grass. Pokemon with access to Feint are great teammates, as the opponent's active Pokemon will most likely use Protect to stall out Trick Room. Feint not only removes Protect but also gives Mega Camerupt the ability to attack the foe after their Protect is removed, and Feint can remove support moves such as Wide Guard. A good teammate specifically for Feint is Hitmontop, as it gets Intimidate and access to Feint and Fake Out. Finally, Pokemon that can KO Dragon-, Water-, and levitating Fire-types are useful. Pokemon such as Sylveon, Amoonguss, and Tyranitar are good teammates for this, respectively.
Other Options
########
Fire Blast can be use in the place of Heat Wave; however, it is discouraged because it's less accurate, and even though it deals more damage, it doesn't deal spread damage. Hidden Power Grass can also be used so that Camerupt and its Mega Evolution don't get KOed by almost every Water-type while also allowing it to damage Pokemon that it can't normally hit with its STAB moves. Rock Slide can be used instead of Ancient Power, as it has spread damage. However, Rock Slide is less accurate and doesn't have as good of a secondary effect as Ancient Power. To add on to that, Rock Slide is physical, whereas Camerupt is mostly useful specially. Eruption can be used over Hidden Power Ice or Grass; however, it only has 225 Base Power after STAB, and it is always going to be weaker than Heat Wave, as Heat Wave gets both STAB and Sheer Force boosts despite not being 100% accurate. Solar Beam can be used too but is discouraged unless you're using a sun and Trick Room team.
Checks & Counters
########
**Dragon-types:** Dragon-types resist Heat Wave, and the most popular ones such as Mega Salamence, Hydreigon, and Latios are immune to Earth Power. They usually can take a Hidden Power Ice and OHKO Mega Camerupt in return. Dragon-types also become a huge problem if Ancient Power or and Hidden Power Ice aren't used.
**Water-types:** Water-types such as Rotom-W and Milotic are immense threats to Mega Camerupt, as Rotom-W has Levitate and resists Camerupt's Fire-type STAB moves. Rotom-W is a huge problem if Mega Camerupt doesn't carry Hidden Power Grass or doesn't have a teammate to KO it. Milotic has an amazing base 125 Special Defense, so it can tank Camerupt's Earth Power with ease.
**Flying- and Levitating Fire-types:** Flying- and levitating Fire-types are immune to Mega Camerupt's Ground-type STAB moves, and levitating Fire-types resist its other STAB type. Both are also hard to defeat without Ancient Power.
