Why you gotta tryhard so much oml
why you gotta lose so much oml

Favorite ORAS metagame?
Probably ORAS OU simply because I think it's a bit better than NU and I'm not yet competent in UU or RU. Once I take them both up, I will probably favor one of those two the most as ORAS OU is still lackluster, imo.

What is your favorite meme?
☚(゚゚☚)

Will you someday build a squad as good as the triple water alliance team?
I'm not quite good enough, unfortunately, so I think not.

favorite generation, considering all the metagames on them?
Generation five, for sure. As everyone knows at this point, I am one of the few guys who actually likes BW2 OU. Add this onto the fact that BW2 UU was my best tier for the last year of the generation and one of the few metagames I truly enjoyed and the fact that I have a soft spot for BW NU and it easily equates to being my favorite generation competitively.

(dog) or (monkey)? (hint: theres only one correct answer to this)

Who do you think have good chances of reaching grand slam playoffs/winnin the whole thing?
omfuga me

sorry if somethin has already been asked :x also love finch, cool kid.

Congrats on getting to OU POTW Finchy :).

So now for questions:

1.) What's your take on the "new" BW meta in terms of banning Chlorophyll + Sun and adding back Excadrill?
2.) What's the worst reaction you have had to losing a pokemon match / anything else (i.e. swearing, throwing things, thinking about quitting Smogon, etc.)?
3.) On playing vs. building: Can you become good at one without being good at the other?
4.) How did you become a Steelers fan and not a Jets/Giants/Eagles fan? (just wondering since you like all other NYC teams)
5.) What do you want to do with your life outside of Pokemon?

That's all I have, obviously I can PM you on IRC if I have others :D .

Congrats on getting to OU POTW Finchy :).
Thanks bro

1.) What's your take on the "new" BW meta in terms of banning Chlorophyll + Sun and adding back Excadrill?
I'm content, to be honest. I think Excadrill is a fine addition to the tier, maybe even not as good as we would expect it to be, so not a big deal. The controversial matter is the banning of sun. Honestly, the lack of Sun made teambuilding and prep overall a lot easier, but not having it as an option to pull out was slightly annoying. I guess I lean to the side of the new meta being a bit better, but it doesn't matter to me much - I'll win in BW regardless n_n

2.) What's the worst reaction you have had to losing a pokemon match / anything else (i.e. swearing, throwing things, thinking about quitting Smogon, etc.)?
I swore out loud IRL when I missed Stone Edge vs Lightchu; thankfully, my family was outside at the time, so it didn't cause any ruckus. Outside of that, I haven't had many negative reactions, but I remember throwing my phone up in the air with excitement when GoldenGyara got a frz in RBY once and it hit the ceiling and left a little mark, which is funny I guess (luckily, the mark was hardly noticeable, so my parents never found out or anything). This probably sounds quite pathetic, but oh well.

3.) On playing vs. building: Can you become good at one without being good at the other?
You can be a good builder without being a good player, but you need the first hand experience from playing to be a good builder, in my opinion.

4.) How did you become a Steelers fan and not a Jets/Giants/Eagles fan? (just wondering since you like all other NYC teams)
My dad has been a Steeler fan since the 70s and I just stuck with him; they're a respectable franchise, so there is no reason to dislike them or root for anyone else, imo.

5.) What do you want to do with your life outside of Pokemon?
My plan is to go to college (I graduate HS in June 2016) at either Rutgers, Binghamton, or TCNJ (The College of New Jersey). From there, I will likely Major in Accounting (if possible) and go on to be an Accountant. If that fails, somewhere in the realm of business will likely be where I end up.

That's all I have, obviously I can PM you on IRC if I have others :D .
Feel free to :D

What Advise do you have for people who are addicted to double switching?

do you think its better to be aggressive and put on most pressure as possible or to be safe? match up being a factor of course.

any major secret to being a high level player? besides practice and knowing the meta.

Advise you have for me? Judging on what you know about me
Unfortunately, I don't know you too well, so not going to say much personally about you. However, I advise you to get your name out there - post, enter tournaments, and try your hand at everything you can. That's the best way to get your name out there and improve yourself as a user and as a player, in general.

What Advise do you have for people who are addicted to double switching?
Don't get caught up with the whole concept of double switching - make the play that is optimal for every situation given your view of the game; if that happens to be a double switch, go for it - if not, don't double.

do you think its better to be aggressive and put on most pressure as possible or to be safe? match up being a factor of course.
If you are in a poor position, facing a team with a bulky core that you need to break, or facing stall, you're going to have to play aggressively and keep momentum and pressure high as much as possible. Otherwise, it depends on how you feel - it can be done, but sometimes it is unnecessary when it means you may be risking something you need to win or check the opposing team.

any major secret to being a high level player? besides practice and knowing the meta.
Make sure to be prepared for your opponent and what they use (I mean specifically who you play, not in general like you would prepare for threats with every team) in tournament matches, be confident in your ability to play/build/make decisions in general, and just because something looks bleak, keep playing until everu game is over (see: here).

Favorite non-OU mon to use in OU? (any and all gens you want to say, go ahead)
I'll just do DPP BW and ORAS as I know them best.

ORAS: Slowking
BW: Mew
DPP: Milotic

Do you play any Other Metagames, and if so, what's your favorite?
Other Metagames as in non-OU tiers or as in OM? If the former, I've played UU and NU dating back to BW and I continue to in ORAS. If the latter, I don't play many OM, unless you count PU, which I've played one or two times in the past I guess.

What's the dumbest thing you've seen someone use against you in a battle?
Lightchu using three scarfers vs me in WCOP Playoffs (or at least he claimed to, the last was never revealed for sure).

US East or Spain in WCoP?
East

Early opinion on Hoopa formes?
The psy/ghost one is sorta underwhelming, but the hype psy/dark one I still want to investigate more because some people are calling it OP and some are calling it lackluster. Honestly, it can run so many moves viably and it has insane attacking stats, but mediocre speed and physical bulk make me think twice before labeling it as a top threat in ou; only time will tell I suppose.

I'm OU PotW because I'm good @ pkmn! Zamrock's not regarded highly by a portion of the community, so not really surprised (no offense or anything to him).

Can we expect a suspect test for Stone Edge in PO's near future

Would you rather fight one Cased sized duck or 100 duck sized Caseds

When your microwave timer beeps do you instinctively say "I'm taking the win"?

The worst thing that has ever happened to this game ever.

Actually, I have a lot of Hippo sand, Rain, and Weatherless teams rn, but I happened to use ttar all four times in WCOP and being that Ttar isn't exactly something you can counterstyle, that's ok imo.

I like Zam and all - he's a friend of mine, but it's still true nevertheless and it's not necessarily a bad thing!

neither The former.

Damn, when did you become a savage? Anyway, I don't, but after reading this..I'll probably start to do so x]

What do u think of genesect potential resuspect?!
Adding something to a tier that is already full of threats that makes teambuilding a struggle doesn't seem like the right way to go. As I said before, the metagame is a bit over "cluttered" currently and letting go of something like Mega Charizard-X or Manaphy seems to be the optimal route for the metagame to progress. However, I haven't thought too much about the prospect of a Gensect retest and it may very well be beneficial for the metagame, so if that's what others and the council thinks would be best, then I wouldn't necessarily object to it until I got a chance to use Genesect itself upon it being retested and gauge its impact on the metagame.

What if the said threat is centralizing the metagame making some current threats unviable?

What do you think will be suspected next - for both PO and Smogon?

Do you think we need to ban anything at all? (Personally speaking, there aren't any overcentralizing or broken threats atm - and banning things to limit the number of threats to create a "healthier" metagame seems sort of a subjective way to go about things. That'd be like your neighborhood kicking you out, not because you violated any rules, but because you make the neighborhood too cluttered or something. Having too many threats is no reason to ban things imo... so with that said, do you think anything needs to be banned on the grounds that something is overcentralizing or broken atm? Because I feel like nothing is deserving or warranting a ban sans "For a Healthier Metagame!" reasons, and I just can't get behind those.)

Although I suppose a Metagross re-suspect for either PO or Smogon depending on the consensus on whether or not it's broken is a thing. Personally I find PO's metagame without Metagross more enjoyable, but eh. That's just me.

It'd be a stretch to see any top threat that makes building a challenge go completely unviable or at least out of the general realm of relevancy by one thing being added to the tier unless that thing is crazy itself, in which case we're just using broken to 'check' (or simply eliminate) broken and that's just asking for the tier to be worse instead of improved.

Idk man, we should talk more! Probably b/c we're not working together like we did last summer/fall around this time D:

PO probably won't suspect anything as the POCL is coming up, but idk about Smogon - I hope Zard-X or Manaphy, but I've heard rumors of a Genesect retest.

The thing is that there are simply too many good threats in the metagame right now and while nothing necessarily stands out as "broken", I think that there is an issue with the quality of the ORAS OU metagame that can be realistically fixed with a suspect or two, so why not try and suspect top tier threats that have a small amount of counters and consistently do well like Mega Charizard X or Manaphy? To go back to your analogy, if a neighberhood gets crowded with people, then the state or county it is in (in America) could pass a law to limit the amount of people moving in so that they can regulate the amount of people living there to avoid living condition's being compromised due to overpopulation. If a metagame becomes cluttered with threats and it is only getting worse as there will be more pokemon in generation seven, then we have to alter our definition of banworthy from the conventional broken to "very good and imposes significant restrictions on teambuilding to make the tier harder to prepare for" or something along those lines. Yes, it will get somewhat subjective, but if it is argued correctly, then the sujectivity can be kept at a minimum and with a realistic view of the metagame, people can identify these controversial threats that should be looked at as potentially banworthy now.

Although I suppose a Metagross re-suspect for either PO or Smogon depending on the consensus on whether or not it's broken is a thing. Personally I find PO's metagame without Metagross more enjoyable, but eh. That's just me.
I find the metagame on PO just as good as the metagame on Smogon, but I just don't feel like Mega Metagross going is necessary or the answer to any of OU's problems.
