Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-326078118

I don't know if this was meant to be serious, but Shadow Ball Vaporeon (with Sitrus Berry, in Mix-and-Mega) is questionable, as is Jolteon with Discharge over Thunderbolt.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-326087724

Don't underestimate Scizorite Weavile. Apart from that, though, are Blastoisinite Latios and Diancite Registeel things? Also, Weavile lived a Power-Up Punch, no doubt thanks to Scizorite's bulk increase.

Also, I know my team is weird, but it works out, seriously!

I'm personally not really seeing Focus Sash Ditto's usefulness in M&M. Could you enlighten me?

And, just when I was trying to find more funny stuff, I can't connect to PS. Maybe I'll take this as an opportunity to build a better team....

It has been a while since my last batch, so here I go. I'm back!

Non-Power Herb GeoPass Smeargle, Nightmare Darkrai (note the use of Nightmare allows Smeargle to win the sleep war) and Leftovers Mega Ray using Fire Blast on Kabutops, a x4 resist (it does burn it, though), Kabutops then replies with Superpower.

Fairy faces bad Fire, featuring a Weakness Policy Torkoal (is this legit?) using Stealth Rock on Mega Diancie and Pyroar. Said Diancie 6-0es the team.

Shuckle's Sticky Web was bounced back by Magic Bounce!

More yet to come I guess...

Well obviously it would be gimmicky as hell, but you get to be whatever Mega your opponent has… with a Focus Sash. It's basically a one-time free pass versus speed ties or -atespeed. I'm not saying it's a particularly good idea, just that it's not an inherently terrible one.

You know, that's actually not terrible.

EDIT: Here's a thing.

Well, this happened....

Bad OU versus bad Mix and Mega. The OU team wins, with Rotom-Frost cleaning up at the end. Also, Mix and Mega team has Metronome Blissey.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-326575538
Once again, two OU teams meet on the Mix and Mega ladder. One of them is mono-Dark. The other has Froslass. Wall-bangingly bad plays run rampant on both sides, culminating in Left's eventual victory.
Right tries to Zen Headbutt a Dark-type. *facepalm*
Edit: IT'S NOT EVEN A LADDER MATCH! Why are they in Mix and Mega if they're just gonna play OU?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-326572285
The two were at it earlier as well. Right didn't learn from this match, seeing as he gets his Toxic Orber burned first turn in the match above as well!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-326568878
An actual Mix and Mega match featuring amazing nicknames, Trace actually putting in work, and Right not using Mewtwonite X or Lopunnite when he really should.

All opponent's Pokémon with their basic Mega Stones, with notably Mega Pidgeot using HP Ground on Latiasite Heatran. Speaking of which, Taunt Heatran single-handedly walled half of my opponent's team.

EDIT: More replays!

Left:
  • Double Edge / Blizzard / Dragon Rush Lugia that actually KOed a Gliscor. Alas, it tried to spam these NVE moves on a Mega Aggron.
  • Giga Impact Torrent Greninja, also used on Mega Aggron (other moves not known).
  • Non-Primal Kyogre using Blizzard on the same Mega Aggron.
  • Dialga pair finally using Fire-type moves on Mega Aggron, but it was too late.
Right:
  • Swagger Gliscor.
  • Ninjask, when Scolipede exists.
  • Non-Mega Sharpedo and Salamence (unused).
  • Power-Up Punch Mega Aggron managing to sweep all its opponent's Pokémon, mainly thanks to typechart issues concerning Steel.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-326995721
Thunder Wave + Discharge Thundurus (not enough paralysis?) managing to shut down a Scolipede chain on left; Shitbipom, Eelektross and Night Slash Weavile on right (Knock Off might be slightly weaker on certain opponents, but it would have removed Xerneas' Power Herb).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-326999378
F.E.A.R. vs. Eeveelutions. Of course, they carried a few countermeasures such as Sitrus Berry Leafeon, Thunder Wave Life Orb Jolteon, and Leftovers Sylveon (less viable than Specs, but eh).

Saw someone in BH with a Vanilluxe being used to set up for a "Sweeper" that was just a Floette with insanely powerful moves it probably wouldn't have been able to do much with because its Attack is abysmal Attack and mediocre Special Attack

Not even a Floette-Eternal? Good job lol.

Stored Power Clefairy (which at least had Calm Mind and not Stored Power) vs. Hyper Beam Mega Audino.

Mega Steelix with HP Fire, Rock Slide, and apparently no STAB moves (or just a Ground one) or Stealth Rock, Nasty Plot Crobat sweeping, and more.

Forfeiting at Team Preview is one thing. Forfeiting at Team Preview against a team of 4 Bidoof and 2 Bibarel... well, that just gets you in this thread.

Smack Down Shuckle is just the start.

If you're going to use FEAR+Shell Bell, don't use Dragon Rage. Or Cherubi.

Right seems to have wandered his way into AG when he meant to go into Kanto Challenge, based on that team.

Snivy and Eevee spell trouble from Team Preview, and it only gets worse from there. If someone wants to make a list of this one, knock yourself out.

Speaking of which, this one, which turns into several stall wars at once. One of which involves a Caterpie, of all things.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-327059984
Left has Air Balloon Lucario and a massive Xerneas weakness.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-327054463
What is that Sceptile set even. It was joined by 3 FEAR Magnemite and nothing else.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-327059723
Porygon, Phione, and Graveler on the left.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-327057104
Remember when I saw a 1750 Elo in AG and proclaimed it the highest I had seen? Well, scratch that, because Lum Berry Groudon helps someone break 2000.

Mixed Salamencite Togekiss and Flash Cannon Heracronite Rhyperior defeat a crappy Eeveelution team starring a Glaceon that missed three Blizzards in a row. And yes, I know "crappy Eeveelution team" is redundant.

Despite not knowing about the CopyRoar nerf, or what Turboblaze does, right gets a win with, of all things, a +5 CB Malamar getting a Struggle kill.

What looks like an OU+Skymin battle at first glance turns ugly quickly, especially when Lopunny shows up.

5 mon team with mass FEAR, including Hustle Rattata, which rears its ugly head by making it miss an Endeavor on turn 1.

A few days ago in BH someone left because I used Mega Gengar with Normalize and Skill Swap because they thought I was cheating

Right:
— Galladite Gallade with Close Combat, Body Slam, Disable, and Ice Punch. Wot even.
— Snivy with Giga Drain/Energy Ball/Frustration not doing anything to Clefable.
— Life Orb Eevee with Double-Edge/Quick Attack/Heal Bell.
— Rayquaza outsped and 2-shotted by Clefable. Maybe it was trying to Roar? (Or Dragon Tail but that would be even sillier.)
— Blaze Kick Mega Blaziken that totally fails to take out Clefable.
— Non-Mega Charizard with Air Slash/Ancient Power/Dragon Claw. It attempts to use that Dragon Claw against the foe's Clefable. Twice.
— This:
★Imp Arectaris(Left): could have
★Imp Arectaris(Left): disabled me

Left:
— Leftovers Clefable? Probably Unaware. Not sure if that would statistically do much against actual Mix and Mega. It probably doesn't have the bulk to survive unboosted hits from much of anything. Moveset is Thunder Wave/Moonblast/Wish/Calm Mind. Anywho, it gets a 6-0.

"Crappy Eeveelution team" may be redundant, but this one is exceptionally crappy.
Left:
— Actually, ESpeed on an -ate Togekiss isn't even that bad of an idea. Can secure KOs when you otherwise do, like 90% to a foe.
— Apparently he doesn't know that Glaceon's Defence is higher than its Sp. Def by a not insignificant margin. He keeps clicking Psyshock and ESpeed instead of just using Aerilate Hyper Voice twice.
— Heracronite Rhyperior with Flash Cannon.

Right:
— LEFTOVERS EEVEE.
— No Mega Stones at all.
— HIDDEN POWER ON EVERYTHING IT IS THE BEST MOVE OKAY.
— Flareon using SE Hidden Power instead of a Fire move that would almost certainly do more damage.
— Using Blizzard without either Hail or No Guard.
— Espeon using Dazzling Gleam repeatedly instead of repeated Psyshocks or Psychics.

Lock-On + Sheer Cold Smeargle who ripped out 2/3rds of the enemy's team (including base Rotom, Jigglypuff and non-Mega Charizard #846531323) but it ran out of ammo right when Dragon Tail Mega Rayquaza entered (at 2v6). Fortunately, it passed its boosts to Primal Kyogre who disposed of that Rayquaza. Then things go insane after Forretress' switch-in.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-327890743
Right has 5 Tentacruel + Aqua Tail Gyarados. Meanwhile, left has:
  • Confuse Ray / Aqua Ring / Rain Dance Swift Swim Mantine (certainly a "confuflincher" if we add Air Slash).
  • Iron Defense / Aqua Ring non-Mega Blastoise.
  • Weavile using Brick Break on a Tentacruel team, but no sign of any Dark-type move.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-327894777
The same team who lost against the Tentacruel squad returns. We learn here that it also had Clear Smog Gengar (which didn't prevent Manaphy's Scald from OHKOing the ghost), Foul Play Weavile and Brick Break Salamence. This time, it loses to a CM + RD Manaphy.

Non Mega Gliscor wins Vs godawful Ubers Team. Please, list everything wrong with this.
This time, we have a metric ton of silly moves here:
  • (R) Non-Regenerator Ho-Oh with Overheat, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, and... where is Sacred Fire? (maybe just not used)
  • (L) Charge Beam + HP (either Ground or Fighting) Blissey staying in front of Mega Lucario, despite the possibility that it would carry physical moves.
  • (R) Oh well. Because one Fighting STAB isn't enough, this Lucario has High Jump Kick, Focus Blast and... Hidden Power Fighting!
  • (R) Mega Lucario revealing its last move, Blaze Kick on Gyaradosite Skarmory, despite having three quadruply effective moves to directly KO it.
  • (R) Non-Mega Suicune with Hydro Pump, Scald and Surf. It becomes predictable...
  • (R) Non-Mega Zapdos with Thunder Wave, Thunder, Thunderbolt and Thunder Shock. Of course, an enemy Ground-type was there.
  • (R) Lugia, trying to stall Gliscor by Tricking a Choice S... heck no. Tricking Choice items is for little girls. Real men give their opponents... a MASTER BALL.
  • (R) Non-Mega Entei with Eruption and Flamethrower.
