Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

bp scrub

rub a dub dub one scrub in a tub
this is probably the stupidest thing ive ever done
Blue Orb Skarm + Pidgeotite Tornadus vs Lucarionite Keldeo and Pinsirite Entei

He had keldeo out, I could have switched in Tornadus to get an easy kill, be revenged killed by Entei, and then Skarm beats Entei 1v1.
Instead, i accidentally switch in Skarm, it gets ohkoed by Keldeo, Tornadus revenge killed, and then Entei KOed Tornadus

(L) Aggronite Crustle. That makes it Bug/Steel instead of Bug/Rock, so Rock Blast is no longer STAB. And it has no access to Steel STAB, either.
(R) Swampertite Conkeldurr with no rain.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-328300970
Non-STAB Psychic coverage is irrelevant when you have sun-boosted STAB Flamethrower or Fire Blast. As evidenced by this match where using SE Extrasensory instead of Flamethrower or Fire Blast cost Left their Houndoominite Ninetales.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-328295572
Umbreon's Payback not working due to its own team's Sticky Web. Also forgetting about Magic Bounce, and forgetting that Empoleon is Steel-type. Sablenite Empoleon gets the 6-0.

ALAKAZITE SHEDINJA
Charizardite X Hoopa-Unbound. I get you want Tough Claws, but you lose STAB on Hyperspace Fury.
Also Cameruptite Reuniclus using Shadow Ball instead of STAB Psychic move on Pinsirite Zygarde.
And we never get to see what that Carbink does.

I've seen a couple other replays from that team before. The plan is to mega evolve Shedinja and switch it out, then bring Carbink to Skill Swap Sturdy with an opponent, which you then send Shedinja in to Trace. It's still an awful lot of work for not much payout considering how common Moldbreaker, Leech Seed, and hazards are, but it's not without reason.

That's actually a cool trick. As you said, it's in no way practical, but it is cool. Should have known something was up as soon as I saw Carbink.

Typical low-ladder nonsense where people don't know how the meta works. Bad Ubers teams are bad.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-329186188
Putting this in the thread because of the RNG. And because my team is bad.

Refresher course on why Diancite Hoopa-U is bad:

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-329238196
More typical low-ladder nonsense. Mix and Mega team versus non-Mix and Mega team.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-329186188
Bad strategy on my part, but more importantly: Focus Hit. Of course, a few matches later I proceeded to miss two Focus Blasts in a row when it really mattered.

How to advance on ladder:

Mold Breaker rocks vs. Magic Bounce. Result: forfeit.

Welcome to randbats, where every bit of hax can and will screw you over. For as the RNG giveth, the RNG taketh away. You know what you're getting.

What I love about this is not just the ragequit, but the perfectly-punctuated ragequit. Explain that one.

What appeared to be a competent BH team gets swept by GeoHerb Protean... Seviper.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330427479
Togekiss overcomes Whirpool Mega Latias with two boosts from Ancient Power, then proceeds to flinchhax everything to death.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330425978
An attempt at sweeping with +2 Tauros is thwarted by his own Trainer's stupidity (in this case, using Zen Headbutt on Greninja).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330428017
Mono Metronome meets BP to Sunkern, which has the lowest BST in the game. Sunkern, after receiving said boosts, is able to 6-0 despite apparently being choiced and getting hit by Torment in the process.

Left completely fails at handling Aegislash, and has the guts stupidity to use High Jump Kick (from Aguav Berry Hawlucha) AGAINST A GHOST MONO.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330425463
Using Mirror Coat against a Mew you have Encored into a status move is not a smart idea.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-330426145
Shedinja cleans up a bad Psychic mono that has Meowstic-F and non-Magic Guard Alakazam, among other things.

"Shuckle used Double Team! Shuckle's evasiveness fell!" And more.

Pinsirite Haxorus vs. Ice Beam Torrent Greninja. You can probably guess what happened.

Extreme Killer 6-0ing is one thing. Extreme Killer 6-0ing a team of Stockpile Snorlax is another thing entirely.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330438360
More people who can't handle Aegislash, along with Darkrai using Dream Eater turn 1.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330434158
Dark Pulse Chandelure, Shadow Ball Mega Mawile, and more.

21 turns of terror right here. AG really is a gold mine. Right wasn't superb, but compared to left... Phew.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-330450398

(R) Blastoise is up against Wobbuffet in rain. What does it use? Rapid Spin. I mean, maybe he's trying to not get hit by Mirror Coat or something, but still... might as well do something worthwile.
(L) Uses Encore. I mean, Left lucked out since Right did Rapid Spin (for some reason), but Mirror Coat's the obvious choice here.
(L) Only for the manliest man: Life Orb Wobbuffet.
(R) You've already seen Wobbuffet use Counter. So now, you'll send out Skarmory... and use Spikes?
(L) You just saw Snorlax use Whirlwind last turn. Now's not a good time to set up Dragon Dance on your Lapras.
(L) Mirror Coat on a Snorlax?
(L) Classic Power Herb Solarbeam on Venusaur.
(L) Focus Blast Machamp. Since it missed, I presume you opted not to use No Guard.

And a mix and mega match as well. I did some silliness, but... (I'm R)
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-330494833
(L): That first turn Dream Eater. From a Yveltal?
(L): That didn't work, so lets go for the Giga Impact! What? Against Sablenite Blissey, that's not exactly terrifying.
(L): A blizzard from an un-megad Articuno won't either. Neither will a yet unknown Hidden Power (which did 4%).
(L): Dragon Dance un-megad Zygarde. That's not even good in OU. +2 Earthquake did 40%.
(R): Keeping Sablenite against Mega Mewtwo X. Twice. Consecutively.
(R): Nice job burning that MMX and even setting up the Hex... but it's already Toxic-ed. Whoops.
(L): Shadow Ball Darkrai. I mean, this isn't horrendous, but what exactly are you hitting that Dark Pulse (which it also had) doesn't? Why?
(L): Dragon Pulse Lugia isn't going to scare Blissey away either. And when it does 5% a time, do something else!
(L): Pressure on Lugia. C'mon.
(L): Dragon Pulse didn't work? How bout Blizzard? Nope.

Oh my goodness...

Some of the "high" lights.

  • An absolute *fire* Groudon-P with Eruption, Fire Blast, Overheat, and... Incinerate. Somehow manages to miss out on the one special Fire-type attack Groudon-P actually gets good benefits from (Lava Plume). And it used all of these in succession on a Sablenite Blissey.
  • Blizzard Kyogre-P. Ya know, there's another powerful attack that has a 30% chance to cause a status effect, and this one even has perfect accuracy in rain. Looking at you, Thunder.
  • Well, you got Thunder... on Lugia. Dragon Rush too. And Power Herb-less Sky Attack.
  • Zekrom's Bolt Strike did not horrendous damage on Sablenite Blissey (which has not had to switch out, and its turn 18), about 33%. It even paralyzed. What to do? Draco Meteor and then Dragon Pulse.
  • This Zekrom somehow can't get the KO even though Blissey is fully paralyzed 4 times in a row... and Bolt Strike does 33%. You do the math on that one.

The ending is what puts it over the top for me. I mean I get the rage. Really, I do. But come on. Hax putting your 6-0 down to a 5-1 is not worth forfeiting to...that.
