  1. Almost Any Ability ORAS Viability Rankings

Zapdos - list magic bounce, especially better than MG Skarmory - list mold breaker Chansey - list prankster (skill swap, charm, softboiled, toxic) Mew - magic bounce is more common than sheer force and tinted lens Mandibuzz - Volt Absorb, steals momentum off of volt switches and blocks zap...
  2. Almost Any Ability ORAS

I'd be fine with a 2/team ability clause. If there are more than 2-3 of the same ability on one team it either shows it's a broken ability, a gimmick, or throws the game under the team match up bus. I would especially be fine with it if it meant potentially seeing protean retested as well, but...
  3. Almost Any Ability ORAS

I know I already talked to you on PS about it, but I figured I would share some thoughts on this here too. The first problem with the team itself is that it's 5 pokemon relying on 1 pokemon to remove a common check they all have, but that 1 pokemon doesn't have a trapping mechanic. One of the...

  5. Almost Any Ability XY (Suspect Over: Weavile banned, Keldeo Stays)

My AAA stall team ran both CM Magic Bounce Cresselia and CM Unaware Suicune. Both are solid defensive pokemon that are integral to the success of the team (the former bouncing back status, taunts, and hazards, and the latter stopping setup sweepers), but together they're also my win condition...
  6. Almost Any Ability XY (Suspect Over: Weavile banned, Keldeo Stays)

Check out my AAA RMT. While most people have been playing offense on the ladder, I've been having alot of success with Stall and currently 32-5 at #11 on the ladder (with plenty of room to go higher). http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/aaa-om-stall.3507264/ Looking for any feedback people...
  7. [AAA OM] Stall

Alot of people say AAA is lopsided and broken with things like Aerialate Dragonite, Refrig Weavile, etc - I couldn't disagree more. AAA has some very powerful pokemon, but there are multiple checks available to anything, I wouldn't call anything in the metagame "broken". Most people I see...
  8. Other Don't use that, use this [XY OU Edition]

As Ethan said, Deoxys-S does not outclass Espeon, they're entirely different pokemon that do different things and aren't comparable. Yes Deoxys-S is a better offensive poke than Espeon, but Espeon isn't just an offensive pokemon, it's main role is to bounce back hazards and status while also...
  9. Pokémon Sableye

He's very good for stall. I used him extensively on my stall teams in gen 5 and a bit in gen 6 and he always pulls his weight. Most people don't realize how well he can take physical hits, even before he gets the burn off. Now in gen 6, while he's basically the same, the accuracy buff on WoW...
  10. Talonflame

You should only run 334 speed if you are carrying will-o-wisp to burn Jolly Garchomp, you're not going to be flare blitzing a Garchomp so you don't need to hit his number without WoW. Thunderus-Therian requires 332 speed since you would be flare blitzing it. Thunderus-I requires 354 speed...

  12. Gen VI Stall

So the first few teams I've made in gen 6 haven't been working out so well, and nothings really feeling anywhere close to how powerful my gen 5 VoltTurn team was, which is a bit disappointing. That said, I've been having some decent success playing stall. Despite what everyone says about it...
  13. New strategy ~

Smashpass'ed Nidoking does the job _much_ better than a belly drum medicham does, it can blow up all of OU bar chansey/blissey and rotom-W and out-speeds everything up to and including Choice Scarf Keldeo/other 108s with a Modest nature. It is also immune to thunderwave, toxic, doesn't care...
  14. Countdown to XY: A Nostalgia Thread

Totally didn't follow this thread, oh well! Day 1: What is your first memory of Pokémon? Getting a red version cartridge in a garage sale while on vacation. Day 2: What was your first experience with a shiny Pokémon? Shiny nidoran(f) in silver. Day 3: How close have you come to "catching 'em...
  15. Lower Tier Threats

I'm surprised no one has posted Xatu yet. Xatu has a huge niche in the OU metagame as one of only two magic bouncers sharing it's role only with Espeon. However unlike Espeon, I have found Xatu to be a much more reliable magic bouncer who can continue to do it's job throughout the match thanks...
  16. Opinion Research on Tiering, Looking Forward to XY

Yeah, this bugged me too. There should be an option for 'Don't know' or 'Don't use X area' for those type of questions.
  17. Gen 5 The OU Viability Ranking thread

I'd probably agree that it's focus sash lead set is probably Terrakion's best set right now. It sets up Stealth Rock very reliably and it's great speed and attack mean it is still posing a strong offensive threat even without an offensive item. It's great coverage in just two moves also means it...
  18. OU Stats (May 2013)

Espeon, Xatu, and Forretress can all work on Sun teams, arguably better than donphan in their own ways. Donphan vulnerability to (t)spikes, lack of recovery, horrible speed, easily exploitable SpD, and pitifully weak offenses means it will often struggle to do it's job. Furthermore Donphan is...
  19. OU Stats (May 2013)

Hippowdon can't pursuit trap. Because of Ttar's ability to pursuit trap key threats it makes him very useful in conjunction with other pokemon such as Keldeo. Hippowdon is a great for bringing sand, being a solid physical wall with solid recovery and stealth rock. Tyranitar's options are really...

It would be nice to be able to have Lobby chat on the left side of the screen and the Home page stuff on the right, at least as an option. It's just not very aesthetically pleasing to have the home page stuff be left aligned and then have an abrupt page divide over to the lobby chat.
