Metagame np: SS DOU stage 0: Begin Again | Beat Up banned

I've been using Gastrodon mainly to counter Rain, but it's been able to survive pretty much everything that's not a Grass attack. Gastrodon-East (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Storm Drain EVs: 216 HP / 212 Def / 80 SpD Sassy Nature IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe - Earth Power - Scald - Clear Smog...

I think I've found a framework for good Kommo-o teams.

Metleon's Kommo-o Bulky Offense I wanted to make a team focused on Kommo-o and had made two different teams with it on them previously. Kommo-o, Tapu Koko, Incineroar, Suicune, and Landorus-T were transferred over from those teams, as they were there most effective members.

SM Doubles OU trick room sweep team

You should use Oblivious on Slowbro so it's immune to Taunt before Mega Evolving. That way, you can delay Mega Evolving if you think your opponent may have Taunt to still get Trick Room up. Also, make sure your Pokémon have 0 Speed IVs to be the slowest possible for Trick Room. Also, I feel...

    International Challenge April 2017

Looks like PGL did end up giving me credit for 5 of DC's from my opponents, so I ended up going 20-8-0 with 1667 points. Was getting discouraged about all the DC's but now that I know they do end up counting them, I'll probably play all 45 matches next time.

Resource VGC: Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer

It's not hard for your opponent to set up Tailwind themselves, so it can still be useful to run max Speed. However, on a Pokemon like Garchomp that can already make use out a bulkier spread, running lower speed can be useful. Other Pokemon like Marowak-A need a lot of investment to outspeed...

Yeah I really had no idea what the best sets for Gigalith and Snorlax were. Some chip damage from Rock Slide or Dazzling Gleam can pretty much guarantee the kill, though.

    International Challenge April 2017

Results so far: Wins: 6 Losses: 1 (Gotta save Drifblim for a Pheromosa in the back.) Opponent DCs: 4 (3 of these were guaranteed wins for me. The 4th happened on the 1st or 2nd turn, so I wouldn't be able to call it.) Team is: Psychic Seed Drifblim LO Tapu Lele Groundium Z SD Garchomp...

    International Challenge April 2017

What exactly are you using Nihilego for? Garchomp could be a replacement for it as it takes out Fire-types and will destroy Muk with Tectonic Rage. It can also deal a lot of damage to Celesteela and OHKO Kartana if it runs Fire Fang.

Well that explains why Porygon2 always gets a SpAtk boost while Kartana's out. Probably won't help much, then.

The dumbest thing the AI has ever done?

Yeah I guess it would take extra memory to lock the ability. Although, all regular trainers always have the first ability on their Pokémon, so they could have just built all the sets around that.

The dumbest thing the AI has ever done?

Sheer Force Hariyama uses Fake Out. At the end of the turn, its Flame Orb Burns it. Battle Maison is so silly.

https://3ds-sp.pokemon-gl.com/battle/#step Going to that link and going to Championship Battle, Pokémon Ranking, and finding Pelipper will tell you which Pokémon are used with it and, thus, the most common Pokémon on Rain teams. I've personally seen a lot of Thunder Tapu Koko and Kartana...

Resource VGC 2017 Viability Rankings (Currently Outdated)

Muk-A really shouldn't go anywhere. It's the best user of Knock Off, which is the best answer to Snorlax besides All-out Pummeling and is a good check to all of the Tapus, one of which is seen on pretty much every team. Garchomp is the only big threat to it, so if you pair it with something that...

    International Challenge April 2017

Your EVs on 2 of those sets are inefficient. Porygon2 should have 252 HP EVs invested before putting anything into its Defenses to maximize overall bulk. 252 HP / 68 Def / 60 SpDef gives you slightly more bulk but allows you to invest 128 EVs in SpAtk instead of 4. For Araquanid, 248 HP and 8...

    VGC 17 Discussion Thread

Well you won so I'd say you handled it pretty well. But here's a couple things: 1. Don't use Discharge with Trick Room, at least on Porygon2. The Paralysis will actually make your opponent faster in TR and you won't be doing a whole lot of damage. Stick with Thunderbolt to take out Water-types...

    VGC 17 Discussion Thread

Well you can switch in your now super fast mons basically for free, since only one Pokemon can attack. If Koko manages to survive, you can have a slow Volt Switch as well. The combo was used by Conan Thompson in the Portland regional. It seems like he only used it against teams without their own...

    VGC 17 Discussion Thread

I forget who actually used it, but it was Sky Drop Tapu Koko and Trick Room Mimikyu. Tapu Koko is one of the fastest Pokemon, so it's pretty much guarenteed to pick up whatever Taunt user they have. Then, Mimikyu can't be OHKO'd because of Disguise. Due to Koko's speed, it goes last in Trick...
