Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I finally hatched a shiny egg so i have no doubt that i can rng abuse with my french game now. I was lucky, on my 3rd check for a low frame that could be shiny, i somehow manage to get frame 190~ and only had to double tap and flip the coin for less than 10 times on both app. It would have been hard to failed with this much tapping.

By the way, i'have been reading the first page of the topic and your discussion about capturing a perfect Ditto more than ten time and i think i've figured the proccess to capture one. The catch is there is just one thing i just can't figure on my own no matter what i do.

For the coin flip app, you go down the Egg PID list for breeding, and that will be the order of the flips.
I just do not see what you are talking about. So does anybody know where i can see a screenshot of it to understand what this is ? It seems to be really important to know if we managed to hit our target time.

Edit : Nevermind, more sleep deprivation helped me solved this.

Since my previous calibration was apparently questionable since I was fishing and didn't reset upon "not even a nibble" messages, I decided to recalibrate. This time, I caught 20 Pokémon, outside of Stark Mountain where everything is Level 51+. Here's what I got, sorted by delay:

(seed, seconds, delay)
69020256, 14, 589
6D020258, 14, 591
74010258, 15, 591
4F020258, 15, 591
4B03025A, 14, 593
4B02025C, 14, 595
7601025E, 14, 597
5202025E, 14, 597
7002025E, 14, 597
8501025E, 15, 597
81010260, 14, 599
5E020260, 15, 599
7C020260, 15, 599
80020260, 15, 599
78020264, 15, 603
7A010264, 15, 603
6D010266, 15, 605
7F010266, 15, 605
66020266, 15, 605
61020268, 15, 607

Mean (seconds): 14.6
Mean (delay): 598.1
Mode (seconds): 15
Mode (delay): 597 and 599
Range (seconds): 1 (15-14)
Range (delay): 18 (607-589)

So, I'm guessing I should use 15 as my seconds, and either 597 or 599 as my delay? It seems like 20 Pokémon is a lot to do for the calibration, but I still don't have a clear answer on my most frequent delay...

Help I have a problem with RNG catching

I am trying to catch a shiny in grass using sweet scent.

Before I advance my frame, I flipped the coin 10 times and I compare it to the coin column in the main page of RNG reporter using my initial seed and all of my coin got it correctly.

The frame of my chosen spread is 54. Since sweet scented pkmn on grass has 2 as their starting frame. So I need to adv the frame by 52 (54-2 = 52). So what I did:

I took 1 step to adv the frame by 1.

Flip my journal 22 times (22 x 2 = 44)

Next I sweet scented so that the frame will adv by 7.

Adding all of that 2+1+44+7 = 54. So I got my targeted frame.

But the result was not a SHINY. So what's wrong? I can't handle this anymore. I'm doin this for almost 3 days.I just want to perfect this method so that I will try this on Shiny legends.

Pls help. Tnx

Check the frame too. I don't know why, but I got myself a Shiny fish, not usable, but for testing, I'm now doing a 10000+ frame spreads, that one is shiny and 3 from flawless.

Hmm...are there any walking people? if so, than that's the problem. They advance the seed.

If what Vile said isn't the problem, there's a lot that you could've done wrong.

-Did the journal page have a caught pokemon on it?
-Are you sure you entered the right ID/SID combination in RNG Reporter?
-Do you have any of the roaming pokemon released but not caught yet?

Also, it would've been better if you caught that pokemon you got, and check the frame.

After you catch a pokemon you think will be shiny, check where it was on RNG reporter. What frame and if it was the right seed.

You are doing the math wrong for starters.
54 - 2 (Sweet Scent) = 52
52/2 (Journal Flips) = 26

When doing this, you don't do the -1 like you did, that is accounted for in the sweet scent already. Also, make sure you have no NPCs near by.

- yes my journal page has a caught pkmn on it
- yes, I entered the right ID/SID
- no roaming pkmn

so am I going to used the seed of the caught pkmn to check what frame it landed?

Did you read my post, because you clearly did the wrong thing, and will be 1 frame under I think. I put in my post why you would not hit it.

Also, in one of your calculations, you have SS advancing by 7. That is only for after you catch a pokemon, and its 7+ the method 1 frame of the previous pokemon.

So you mean sweet scent is counted as two? But what mingot said "sweet scenting in grass will advance the frame by 7.

Maybe I misunderstood that line. Anyway tnx.

Ok, I may seem like a noob and all with no posts, but I initially joined because I was interested in Emerald's RNG discussion. I do have a decent understanding of RNG; I have been successful in finding shinies in Emerald via RNG abuse, as well as hatching shinies in DPPt.

Right now, I'm trying to hatch perfect IV pokemon. During the "Initial Calibration" (no journal or tapping/flipping, just run and sweet scent a pokemon and input IVs) phase, my results were:

Delay: 614 to 636
Seconds: 25 to 45

Especially for the seconds, the ranges are quite wide. I'm using AR, if that influences the boot-up time. I am playing Diamond and have version 5.2 of the RNG Reporter. I am (attempting) to button mash and press continue quickly, but why are my ranges so high? Human error?

If this is important to note, when picking up my egg quickly, the IVs were usually identical to Frame 8.

Either way, I do not understand the Target Time and DPPt Time Finder. These last steps are confusing, and I would appreciate any kind of help or perhaps, a video if one was made. Thank you.

Hazel: You need to get that delay range lower. That usually is attributable to human error. Also, the seconds figure is based off the second of the minute you load the game. If you loaded the game at 6:54:32, your seconds would be 32. To remedy your wide range of seconds, load the game at :00, which should give you a clearer idea of how long it takes to load your game. To do this with AR, press the red start button at :54, as it takes 6 seconds to load the AR when it's not saving new configurations.

As far as time finder goes, I don't understand what you don't understand, but it's fairly logical and easy to use. Set IV criteria, input calibration data, find a spread, and hit it.

Oh, I don't think I was quite starting at :00.. Thanks for pointing that out, as that did reduce my range quite a bit!~

I'll have to look into after work.. Thank you.

Help plz, I had a perfect frame, nice delay, cool nature,... and today NOTHING, I cant find this seed again, mine was Careful, I used a sync, and already caught some pokemons with it, but I cant find it today, there is only a frame thats look like mine, same delay,... but its Naive...

Could someone help me ?

I have no clue what you are talking about. Seed for what, a wild pokemon? Why can't you "find" it?
