Challenge The Scramble Challange

I hope that Puff M.D. isn't too annoying. I actually feel a bit guilty when the pokemon I give ends up being the MVP the whole game. For the last several I made I tried to incorporate the challenge aspect. Not because I think it should be entirely difficult but because I think it should be a bit harder than simply playing the game. To me that means either a) an average pokemon (e.g. Altaria) with a slight handicap or b)a reasonably good pokemon with a more severe handicap. I try not to give really good or extremely bad pokemon because it either becomes to easy or a chore. I hope that no matter how difficult certain aspects of you challenge may seem you enjoy doing it.

Alright, just a small update.

Kicked Roark's ass with Monferno (I swept Pearl's team, by taunting his starly and waiting for quick attack to hit me under 10 hp (I had 30 hp at that time), and then promptly swept his team, because piplup was too stupid to use water gun and instead kept on growling me). Gardenia should be a snap with Monferno, so I'm not worried.

Team:

Monferno (Leader) - Rash Lvl 17
Mach Punch
Ember
Fury Swipes
Taunt

I'm going by the rule of using two extra wild card moves. I believe ember and mach punch were on Ash's Infernape. I named him Leader because clearly he's gonna have to carry the bulk of the team, up until probably the 6th gym, then become useless, then after evolving, kick the E4's ass.

Bidoof (Ironic)- Bold (Fucking pain in the ass) Lvl 10
-Tackle
-Return
-Growl
-Defense Curl

This guy is just a pain in the ass to train. Okay, so Return now does more damage than Tackle does, but still is a pain in the ass. I'm awaiting the day when I get a Special move to train with in conjunction with Charge Beam. Although, I guess Bold is a blessing in disguise as it grants me a higher DEF stat to tank with, while using Defense Curl and Amnesia in conjunction.

Alright I'll take a challenge for LeafGreen. I want hard challenges but no "you must release x if y does not happen. Also no Caterpie, Weedle, Rare Safari Zone mons. I will trade in eggs from FireRed so give me anything breedable from the Kanto Pokedex.

Texas, once you acquire the Super Rod, go back to Pallet Town and use it. You must catch the first Pokemon to appear;

If it's a Krabby or Kingler it may not know any Physical Attacks
If it's a Staryu it may not learn Thunderbolt or Ice Beam
If it's a Gyarados, you must use Tm44 on it, and it may never forget it.
If it's a Slowpoke it must use Disable to lead every battle you use it in

Mr. Cloverleaf,

Take an Exeggcute, and name it Exeggcute. Teach is Either Poisonpowder or Stun Spore, Barrage, Sunny Day, and nothing else. Evolve it before level 30.

That's better. Just to clarify detroitlolcat's challenge the Exeggcute is suffering from three moveslot syndrome correct?

You want 'em hard, eh, ok take a Bellsprout named garbanzo. It must solo gary's fire type in lavender town and silph co to evolve into a weepinbell and must solo gary's fire type and kadabra before victory road to evolve into a victrebel. Your lucky I gave you something with sleep powder, I almost didn't.

Yep. Three moveslot syndrome is even worse than four moveslot syndrome, especially when I already chose the moves :P.

Feck I just used a Victreebel in my LG Nuzlocke. Ah well, two more to go.
EDIT: Could I possibly change that challenge to an Oddish? Never used one before.

Sure, except there is no oddish in leafgreen

Is it just me or are lolcat's challenges getting meaner and meaner? I know clover asked for a hard one, but I mean in general. He gave me an impossible one a while ago but that was on accident and when we realized how impossible was is he made it easier. Maybe he was just being nice to me

Edit, My team hillarously almost got wiped in a ruby nuzlocke by a wild lvl 5 taillow (to be fair, it was pre-petalburg woods, I started with treecko, and the taillow got a crit). Discouraged by this I want a crystal scramble. As usual, I want it hard but not "no stab charmander may never evolve" hard like clover wants it (he's crazy). I know I have received two scrambles that I never finnished in the past, but for some reason when I leave my emulator on without using it for long periods of time it glitches my games, and I don't have the will to restart either of those games.

Oh, if eradd posts he gets to give me a really tough one as payback for that unaware bidoof

I just beat Falkner and got the Old Rod:

Current Team:

Chikorita - Level 14
- Tackle
- Growl
- Razor Leaf
- Reflect

take a Chikorita. It must have no damaging moves a soon as possible, and must solo four pokemon on your rival teams. Notice-this can include pokemon that are the same as long as it is different battles.
Current Rival Pokemon Soloed - 1

Technician (Omanyte) Level 12
Constrict
Withdraw
hack in an Omanyte, name it Technician. It must never know a move with more than 60 BP. Evolves once it solos ten Rocket Grunts and one Admin.

Also, for people curious as to what I got for doomvendingmachine's challenge, here it is:

Wobbufett! It only gets four moves so yeah :P
here' the challenge You new challenge will be to catch ANY pokemon that knows/can learn metrenome (and teach it metrenome obviously). Then use your old rod to fish up a magikarp and battle it. Use metrenome. the first time you use metrenome, use the link i'll post at the botton to look up the moves index number, and then use the national pokedex listing (which i'll also link) and find the pokemon with same number. THIS is your pokemon. The beatuy of this is that there are 251 moves in gen 2, and 251 pokemon, making this almost completley random, minus the moves metrenome cant select. If you happen to get a pokemon not fully evolved, too bad, it must stay in its nfe form. If you can't get the pokemon selected in crystal, hack it in, but if it's in the game get it legit. (also, if its a pokemon you have already been given by somebody else for this challenge or is in said pokemon's evo familiy ignore it).

Now continue to use metrenome. If a move is used that your future pokemon can learn, write it down and when you get that pokemon add it to your movelist. Continue to do this until you get a full move list. If you get a move that is illegal with a previous move, ignore the newer move.

If you get one of those horrible pokemon that cant learn more than four moves you dont have to go through the move selction steps.

If at anytime during this process you ko the magikarp/ko yourself/run out of pp, heal up at a pokemon center and contine on from where you left off. After you get a pokemon and a complete moveset, end the magikarp battle and release your metrenome user.

The last reqirement for this challenge is you must post what pokemon/moveset you get in this forum, because i wanna know what you get!

Meh, I'm a nice guy, so here's what I'll do; throughout the whole process you get 3 "rejects". If you get a pokemon/move you dont like, you can use a reject and then ignore the last metrenome result (obviously if you get a move that your pokemon cant learn/isnt legal with your prevoius moves, this doesnt count as a reset). After using a reject you CANNOT decide you liked the previous metrenome result better and go back to it.

If you would post what you reset (if you reset anything) with your final moveset it would be much appreciated!

@Texas Cloverleaf, take a Machop named Crippled. It can only use Physical attacks if they're not very effective. To evolve to Machoke, it must either solo every ghost lady (can't remember their name) in Lavender Tower without going back to the Pokemon Center, or solo one of Erika, Sabrina, and Koga without any items. To evolve to Machamp, it must do both.

Sure, except there is no oddish in leafgreen

Which game? Crystal? If so:

You must catch the first Sentret you find. Name it Lolwut. Furret may carry only one Physical attack, must carry one of the elemental punches, one move at or below 40 base power, and carry surf. Not too hard. Except it must solo one gym leader, and one E4/Champion. Good luck.

Ok, so far in my crystal scramble;

You must catch the first Sentret you find. Name it Lolwut. Furret may carry only one Physical attack, must carry one of the elemental punches, one move at or below 40 base power, and carry surf. Not too hard. Except it must solo one gym leader, and one E4/Champion. Good luck.

your poke is an eevee. name it Chance. if the coin landed on heads, you get an umbreon. if the coin landed on tails, you get an espeon. if the coin miraculously landed on its edge, you get eevee :P. this eevee must evolve before level 22, or you get no evos. you may not breed the eevee. I got espeon.

Doomvendingmachine

Lol, my challenges are getting meaner because everyone else's are, though I think I did go a little insane on the last one o_O.

That one I gave you was a mistake on my part, I didn't know Liza+Tate's Solrock knew Solarbeam.

Lolcat is ushering in a new reign of Scramble Terror! Bwahahahaha! (It's about time people on Smogon fear me for something!)

Furret is a complete B.A.M.F. in G/S/C :P it gets mega coverage with all of its moves, and thats pretty much all you need to succeed in the games.

@doomvendingmachine

you should make raseri use a reset for that wobbs. he absolutely sucks pre R/S/E :P

now for your challenge. before you look flip a coin.

your poke is an eevee. name it Chance. if the coin landed on heads, you get an umbreon. if the coin landed on tails, you get an espeon. if the coin miraculously landed on its edge, you get eevee :P. this eevee must evolve before level 22, or you get no evos. you may not breed the eevee.

Do you need another poke for your Crystal Scramble? If so, take one of Lolcat's mean pokemon.

Take a Staryu, evolve it once it solos Jasmine's Steelix. The sum of the Base Powers of its attacks may never exceed 95.

No coverage for you :(

@doomvendingmachine

happiness checker is somewhere in goldenrod by the bike seller according to bulbapedia.

@Lolcat.

water gun, icywind, HP electric (Cause in the move description, it has no BP! 40+55+0=9FIIIIIIVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ftw :P). is that enough coverage for you :P.
