Any idea if hatched pokemon with the DW ability can continue to pass it on? If not, breeding for IVs is going to be downright difficult, and the "legal" hacker will have a noticeable IV advantage over organic players. This also means I need to start hording female lickitungs, so I can make sure I have one with decent IVs to breed a competitive one.

BTW, I'll be Wi-Fi idling for the next three hours (8:45p to 12:00ish EST).

Just checked this now with Bidoof (one of the 3840-step Dream World breeders) and the answer is--yes. :) Results of ten eggs: Unaware, Simple, Inconsistent, Simple, Simple, Simple, Inconsistent, Inconsistent, Unaware, Inconsistent.

That's awesome. Not only does it make IV breeding easier, if I really need something I just can't find, I can just trade for it.

BTW, I started keeping a log of everything that I encounter in the DW. Once I have a week's worth of data I'm going to see if I can find any consistencies in it. I'm literally logging everything: species, gender, special move, mini-game, mini-game score, and also random info from the pokemon I put to sleep. The only relatively interesting thing I've found so far is that it seems most pokemon will always challenge you to the same game. Gender could change this however. Male Farfetch'd has challenged me to the Ice Cream game four times in a row.

^^Do you all like how GameFreak decorated my house?

This was the worst DW day for me. I discovered all the people I went on to Wifi with (the two Jiggs on here and Joshiro, with one other person), and those points saved me. I only caught like 6 pokemon, and they were all male.

so... do you need to actually engage with someone to see them on the dream world or can you just stand in the wi-fi room with them? i've been hearing conflicting results from everybody.

if it's the latter then i'll add a bunch of people and leave my DS on all day tomorrow, my FC is in my sig so please add me back. if it's the former then i'm happy to do a couple of useless trades or whatever.

today was kinda shitty, best i got was female Mareep =/ but still boosted myself by 300 points thanks to berry watering and whatnot.

Just so everyone with more than five friends knows how to see all the possible houses you can visit (since at first I was doing it wrong and just clicking around the five visible houses in a cycle until the other ones showed up), click this button to bring up your full friend list:

I haven't battled or traded with anyone, so either it's standing around in the lobby or "talking" to people in the lobby that does it. Anyway, added you.

I think the servers were a bit crappy when I went on. I FINALLY encountered Nidoran and, though male, I was happy with it. So I took it from that big magic tree, stocked up on some items and woke my Jynx up, only to find out later that it didn't transfer anything :(

Really Gamefreak, why the hating? :(

Oh I just got back from visiting a few houses and then came back to my berry patch and a little diglett was there and dug me another row!! :) I must have got some points. I did water a few berries for someone so maybe that was it. I wasn't sure what was going on at first. Glad I can grow a few more berries now though.

I am going to have a quick go through the forest. Wifi isn't great here. I am sitting in a lobby of a hotel with awful music in the background so not sure how long I'll last!

Sounds interesting; can't wait until the States get it!

How are natures determined, when you first encounter the DW Pokemon, or can you soft reset right in front of them in BW until you get a good nature? Sorry if this question has been asked!

I wonder if I'll have a female of every forest Pokemon by the time I unlock the next area. At this point I have 14 of them and I'm missing 8.

You can't soft reset right in front of them, but you can save before entering High Link (which is two clicks of touch screen buttons), then once you're inside you move one screen up and find their overworld sprite. Reset if you don't like what you get, then repeat... People in here have reported Synchronize not working with Dream Worlders, so it could take a while.

You just have to see them in the Wi-Fi room in your game. You don't have to actually do anything with them, not even talk to them. That's why everybody has been Wi-Fi idling, which I'll be doing for at least a couple hours tonight. I had so many people watering my berries they didn't need it when I finally got on last night lol.

I've got another random question about breeding. So it's been confirmed that the DW moves (particularly the ones that aren't Egg Moves) can be bred correct? If so, does that mean a Gen IV ponyta with heat wave can breed the move, regardless of whether it is from the DW? I heard that there was a DW "tag" on pokemon from it, and this affected breeding, however if abilities can be bred through multiple generations, that means that either the tag is bred through generations as well, or it really doesn't matter if they are from DW or not, it only matters if they have the DW ability/move.

EDIT: The above statement is completely false. ^_^

Wait you can breed DW attacks? I thought it was just abilities and just with the females

I have no idea where I thought I read it, but you can't. Just checked by breeding two Herbivore Stantlers, the male having Skill Swap (Gen 4 TM). All five eggs I hatched had the same four moves, none of which were Skill Swap. Four of them did come out with Herbivore though.

That's a shame, I mean since Skill Swap was a TM in the last gen, it doubled as an Egg Move. Now it is neither. Not that I really care about Herbivore Stantler with Skill Swap (swap it on Swampert!!), just saying though.

So if you want DW ability plus DW moves, you'll have to do a lot of reseting to get nature and IVs. Sorry for any confusion guys.

Anyone knows how to breed male Nidorans with DW ability? Does breeding with a DW-Nidoran(F) work? I found one (without Super Fang) and now I don´t know what to do with it.
