Hi all, happy new year etc. maybe one of you can resolve to break my record in the new year because I just lost"!". On a plane to Phoenix, first time I've played since I posted the record, battle 376 Black Belt Enpi leads with Magnezone. Now the iPhone I'm typing this up on was off (coz aeroplane), and I had a feeling it would cost me, but that's about as much of a fuck as I gave/give (I'm not posting a picture btw "why"). First four battles were cake and my new 3ds that I was playing on was telling me that my battery was low, even though Mario Kart 7 (a real 3ds game unlike Pokemon white) was saying I was fine. More the reason to turn it off after winning three or four battles, but eh.

Anyway, I was using Whimsicott/Dragonite/Mesprit, if anyone needs a refresher. Taunt, Flash Cannon takes me to 80/136, and here's where my lack of fucks given cost me I guess. If I had any fucks to give, I would have checked the list, since my intricate knowledge of all the Subway pokes has deteriorated a little from this summer. I wouldn't have Mementoed a Volt Switch threat, and may have gotten in Dragonite in a little earlier when the decrepit Forretress that only knows Explosion as an attacking move started doing stuff Dragonite doesn't care about. I was able to Charm it to the point that its eventual boom did not break Draggy's sub (which surprised me at the time about as much as Forty using boom in the first place did). Alas, I was only at +1, which didn't look to be enough to 3hko Zone (something I calc with a higher number of fucks given about the Subway), so obviously when I'm naked against its locked TB, it paralyzes the effectively 4x-resist Dragon. And obviously pares Mesprit on the switch back from my 100% HP Draggy so I can't paralyze it myself...Draggy's eventual fp is a mere formality at that point, and all I really care about is why I even bothered to play again lol. 4.5 hour flight and I was tired of grinding up coins in Kart to unlock shit I guess?

Maybe this will motivate Peterko or someone to care about shooting for the singles record (again), cause that's was clearly (to me, anyway) what caused the loss in my fifth battle since this summer more than fucking Magnezone, lol. It's hard to put into words what that feels like to those who don't have an ide, but for some reason the closest example would be a 90's Chicago Bulls team that had just won the championship. Granted, they 3peated twice, but Jordan said repeatedly that moving himself and his teammates was the toughest thing to do after raising a championship banner. Unfortunately for me his team was allowed to lose a battle or two early in a season!

Have fun, kids–I've been catching up on this thread slowly but surely since my break started and I obviously missed "this" enough to play even when my heart wasn't really in it. "Maybe I'll try doubles", with the theorymon I did with that this summer when I was trying to find the best speed singles team and best efficient one. Doubt it though cause Kart is fun as hell (though annoying in its own right, fuck Blue Shells when you're gliding over a cliff so much).
