Shamelessly BSed my way up with baton pass ^_^ I'll update it with my team in a few minutes.

Such a shame celebi was in top 10. Replacing it with mr. mime sucked D:

Nice job, Lady Alex! If you could put the screenshot in there (there's nothing in the hide tag xD) then I'll promptly put you into the hall of fame. Baton Pass seems like an easy way to get in, but what about your stall team?

Thanks xD. Togekiss is far too underused on baton pass teams.

Yeah, my bad. It's there now. I haven't laddered much on my other alt, but that's what I'm going to be working toward now. I think I'm going to revamp my stall team though to use something that hasn't already made it to the hall of fame so frequently (my team had hippowdon, forry, jellicent, and blissey as well lol)

(23:35:53) *** Your rank in Standard OU is 264/53289 [1300 points / 63 battles]!

Just broke 1300 with Milotic sun stall under my Saphir account. (lol)

I had a lot of difficult matchups. SD Sub Terrakion 6-0s me. Volt/Turn is gay unless I play risky, which is something stall doesn't like to do. Sand is gay. Rain with a spinner is also gay.

Here are some logs.

If you get rid of chandelure for sableye you will be able to spinblock tentacruel and starmie as long as you have sun up (which is pretty easy against rain as long as you have a layer of rocks up). It might also make terrakion and sand in general somewhat less threatening. Good luck, though. I would really appreciate seeing milotic make the cut.

swim trunksss i just want you to know
swim trunksss you are by far the biggest (BAN ME PLEASE) ive ever played
Saphir why
swim trunksss regardless of the outcome
Saphir because your team is stall weak?
Saphir ok
swim trunksss you are an absolutely terible player
Saphir nah

lol, Given that he's using Stone_Cold's team, he has no right to say that :d

Anyways, the team looks pretty solid, though I have to wonder whether the use of Aromatherapy on Chansey should be considered, especially since it seems as though your only method of removing SubToxic Gliscor is PP stall. You may want to consider Jellicent over Chandelure because it can soak up Water attacks and still spin block, and try out Ice Beam / Scald / Recover / Toxic as the moveset. With Ice Beam, Jelli isn't setup fodder for Dragons such as SubDD Dragonite and SubHydreigon.

@ Lady Alex, I still can't see your screenshot :x

If I had to replace any pokemon, it would be Milotic. Milotic doesn't do too much. Chandelure is actually my MVP. It sweeps so easily with spikestacking, and opposing Chansey can't actually touch it.

Aromatherapy would be useful. Mainly for Cresselia. Since I always hated when Cresselia would get poisoned. I don't care nearly as much if Milotic gets poisoned, mainly because I feel like I am battling with 5 pokemon regardless.

That wasn't the only hateful comment I recieved Harsha. There was a couple of others who flamed me. Even if I lost. v_v

haha, I see it now. Good job on the peak (though I never did like Baton Pass -.-)! I'm curious to know, was Scizor ever problematic, considering that Ninjask is screwed by it, and you have a lot of Psychics on your team. Anyways from what I've seen, if you're not ShakeItUp, Baton Pass and sand stall are still pretty viable strategies.

Yeah, with the freedom to switch moves, Scizor can get really troublesome. I'm actually tempted to test out Tomakawk9's trapper Scizor because it can just kill off Baton Pass with ease. :d

it would probably be less potent than cb scizor against bp actually. The reason SD scizor is so terrifying is because most bp teams can't stop it from getting a +6 bug bite, which most bp teams will struggle against, regardless of their defensive boosts. Carrying a random hp fire on something would work, if one was willing to sacrifice the utility of something else. imo, vappy can deal pretty well with it, fishing for a burn from scald. It still takes a hefty amount from bug bite even if they are both at +4/6 though.

oof, so little discussion x_x

How have you guys been doing without the presence of defensive Steels (Jirachi) when faced with Dragons? Has it been hard to ladder without stall when you face a stall team yourself, since most of the top10 are common stallbreakers?

Guess I'll try replying to you :) Dragon-types aren't so much of an issue since I play hail :d Abamasnow pretty much checks a good number of them. Protect allows it to scout for random Hidden Power Fires and whatnot while also adding to hail damage and makes them easier to KO with Ice Shard :) Leech Seed goes a long way too! Latios has been the easiest one to handle by far :d

Metagross is my choice of Steel-type to tank all those Dragon-type attacks, especially Outrage and Draco Meteors. Ice Punch is a huge boon to get rid of Choice Scarf MoxieMence and Dragonite once they're locked into Outrage. Is Metagross a weird choice? :d I've never met an opposing one >.> Bullet Punch deals with those weakened Dragon-types too. Sadly, Metagross has no means of recovery so I just get Latias to hopefully pass Wish to it occasionally and they have the same HP stat anyway~~ Metagross seems too underrated to me but I rarely play OU so idk >.>

Also, I'd like to just throw out this question as well. Does anyone have any problem with countering of checking certain checks without the use of the Top 10 Pokemon? For example without using Rotom-W, do you have issues checking Dragon Dance Gyarados and other threats?

Metagross, imo, is really underrated actually. While some say it's outclassed by Jirachi, I think the difference in power really makes up for the drop in Speed -- it's never really bothered me. Just like you say, I actually have never seen an opposing Metagross against me on the ladder, oddly enough. It's cool that you have a Wish passer Latias, though, since it would help a lot. Has winning the weather war been tough with something as weak as Abomasnow? Politoed can run an effective Choice Scarf, Specs, attacker, or even defensive set. Tyranitar can run a mixed set, a Choice Scarf set, and a Choice Band set. Abomasnow's options are pretty limited and it's pretty frail. It also has awful typing, so I'm wondering how you manage to keep it alive x_x

Anyways keep it up sandz!! (thanks for replying x_x)

Hey guys! Time to bump with discussion questions (via Pocket, thanks big bud!). I have some questions for you guys regarding the challenge.

1) Without Scizor, how are you guys dealing with Dragons and Terrakion? They seem like toughies.
2) How are you guys handling weather? I know rain and sand are super common.
3) What inspired your teams? Considering all the Baton Pass and sand stall, I want to see how you thought your own team up.
4) Is rain stall the toughest thing to face? If not, what is? How can you beat it?

1) Much less reliable, but I have Metagross to help against Dragons and Terrakion, as well as Ferrothorn for Dragons.

2) Ferrothorn and Gastrodon on the same team. Additionally, Scarf Infernape punches holes in most teams with a bit of prediction.

3) I like the concept of using Pokemon that are forgotten. My team is built around a mediocre Pokemon turned amazing by it's Dream World ability: Alakazam. I've also wanted to use Metagross in OU for a while, and I have a reason to now. Scarf Infernape is often the star of the show, however.

4) I have Ferrothorn and Gastrodon, so Rain stall is not that much of a problem. Alakazam and Double Dance Haxorus are also great stallbreakers.

My team (current rating is around 1275, I haven't played much the past week or so)

Metagross @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Meteor Mash
- Hammer Arm

Infernape (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 108 Atk / 148 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Seed Bomb
- Protect

Haxorus (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Swords Dance

Alakazam (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute

Gastrodon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover

1) i have found it relativity hard to deal with them, but forretress can tank a hit from terrakion and any physical dragons and dent or ko them with gyro ball.
2) virizion
3) i just wanted a reasonable excuse to abuse, lesser used pokemon and i love offense so i just added a load of sweepers onto my team and that was that.
4)virizion decimates rain stall, i found sun offense to be hardest to deal with, because of the monstrous power of darmanitan, volcarona ect. i usually have to use clever switches or damage them beyond the point of use, its shaky at best but it can sometimes work.

Glad you already came up with the questions!!

1) Hail and Protect just adds residual damage to them. Especially if they have Life Orb. Metagross pretty much takes care of all the Dragon-types with Ice Punch and Bullet Punch as well to revenge kill. Hydreigon is the most problematic one though :d Best I can do is revenge kill with Starmie's Blizzard or wait for hail and Life Orb to lower it's HP. Terrakion used to be irritating but Gliscor walls it I guess ?_? Latias survives X-Scissors and Rock Gem-boosted Stone Edge. I'll just wait for hail and Life Orb to finish it off :>

2) By using my own weather obviously 9.9 lol. Hail is pretty underrated :) Roserade pretty much handles quite a portion of sandstorm and rain teams. Choice Specs Leaf Storm all the wayyy. Weather teams are easier to handle than VoltTurn for me :d

3) Pretty much thanks to this reply :) I've never played hail before and might as well give it a try. Even more so that hail works great with bulky offense teams. And my team is all DPP OU Pokemon + Latias :O I guess I'm using all the Pokemon I'm familiar with?? I didn't take much of the OU threats into consideration while building it but only like the top few threats etc.

4) VoltTurn is more problematic :d The only thing I have problem in rain stall is Ferrothorn 9.9 Politoed MUST be gone before I can do anything to it >.> This makes me more focused on winning the weather war instead of trying to prevent myself from getting stalled. Mostly I'll just try to keep away entry hazards and keep changing the weather so Politoed has to keep coming in for me to KO after some hits. Most Pokemon on rain stall can't touch Abomasnow anyway~ @_@ VoltTurn... The only good thing is that most of them have Choice items (read: Rotom-W and Scizor), so hail can whittle them down slowly~~ Latias and Roserade can tank Rotom-W for a while and heal off with Wish and Rest respectively. Scizor is plain annoying .-. Gliscor keeps eating U-turns then Rotom-W comes in and you know what happens... I can only bait Scizor to use Bullet Punch so Gliscor can Fire Fang it :d

Keep the discussions coming by guys~~ :)
