Gunna end voting a few hours early simply because Sweet Jesus is pretty much definite! Also, from now on I will be checking illegalities and anything that is found to be illegal (and even if it can be changed after it has won - such as FLCL's Jynx) can't be voted for and will not count. :)

Ok so this is my set:

Altaria@Life Orb
Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spe/252 Atk/4 SpD
Nature: Adamant
- Bulldoze
- Hone Claws
- Dragon Rush
- Roost

The idea of this set is simple: Grab a Hone Claws boost and Rush about! The main reason Bulldoze is on the set is to slow down pokemon like Samurott on the switch and then beat them with Dragon Rush. Adamant Rush hits hard after a Hone Claws boost and can OHKO a lot of the counters to Altaria like Samurott who try and switch in:
+1 252+ Atk Life Orb Altaria Dragon Rush vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Samurott: 265-313 (80.06 - 94.56%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
Rush also has a nice little chance of flinching which can be useful.
Bulldoze also helps the team because a loss of speed makes most Pokemon who try to outspeed and OHKO with HP Ice redundant, especially as Altaria has Roost to heal off any damage.
Any comments?

Altaria @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 152 HP / 252 SpA / 104 Spd
Modest Nature
-Sunny Day
-Solarbeam
-Fire Blast
-Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse

This set works really similarly to blarajan's Flygon set. Once Sunny Day has been set up, the likes of Tangela, Alomomola, Golem, and Steel types aren't considered checks / counters anymore, as they are annihilated by Altaria's coverage moves. Life Orb is used because Altaria needs the power, though its Base 120 moves may prove to be enough most of the time. Solarbeam hits the likes of Alomomola and Golem hard (i said this already but w/e). Fire Blast is now considered a pseudo-STAB move for Altaria once Sun is up, making it a pretty threatening 'mon due to Fire being a really good offensive type and good coverage togeter with its Dragon STAB. Draco Meteor and Dragon Pulse depends on your team structure. Using Altaria as a wallbreaker? Draco Meteor. Using Altaria as a late-game sweeper? Dragon Pulse. Modest is used to increase damage output while EVs are to outspeed 40 Speed Misdreavus and to take hits better.

Altaria @ Yache Berry
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 180 SDef / 80 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Roost
- Dragon Claw / Earthquake

The biggest problem that Altaria has is its huge weakness to surprise Ice-type moves, especially when it is in the middle of its rampage. This set solves the issue as with a Yache Berry, Altaria can survive moves like Ludicolo's Ice Beam, Timid Scarf Jynx's Ice Beam, Piloswine's Ice Shard and Electabuzz's HP Ice, all after SR. This means that Altaria's Dragon Dance sweep is unlikely to be interrupted since after two boosts, it outspeeds the entire unboosted tier, and the aforementioned threats are the only common ones nowadays that are capable of stopping Altaria's sweep at +1. The EVs allow for bulk and for outspeeding Adamant Rampardos.

@vyomov I don't see how your cloud beats things like, well, Samurott, because if you Hone Claws on the switch, Rott can beat you, while of you Bulldoze on the switch, you have to rely on Dragon Rush's shaky accuracy to beat Samurott

Mixed Attacker Altaria:

Altaria@Life Orb Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 156 Atk / 252 SAtk / 100 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Roost

Like (warily) MixMence, the idea is to surprise opponent with mixed attacks; we can considering a greater broad-spectrum attacks and a discrete base speed. increased by the naive nature. The 100 evs assign to Spe, ensure a speed tie on some versions of Skuntank and Ludicolo.
Damage-boosting Life Orb is balanced with the potential possibility to recover HP with Roost. You can clearly increase attacking accuracy, choosing Dragon Pulse and Flamethrover.

Some calculation:

252 SpA Life Orb Draco Meteor vs Altaria. 176 HP / 0 SPD Golurk: 239-282 (65.84 - 77.68%) - guaranteed 2HKO

Agility Altaria

Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 84 Atk/ 252 Sp.Atk/ 172 Speed
Rash Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Sp.Def)
- Agility
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

Altaria certainly isn't a great offensive threat in the NU metagame, however this set with a life orb equipped and Altarias decent bulk can pull of some late game sweeping. Agility with 172 speed EVs allows Altaria to outspeed the entire tier, as well as scarfed based 95s (Jynx). the remaining EVs help Altaria defeat common NU offensive threats, especially the newbies jynx and Scolipede.

252 SpAtk Life Orb Altaria (+SpAtk) Fire Blast vs 4 HP/0 SpDef Scolipede (-SpDef) : 143.51% - 169.47%

Altaria (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Cloud Nine
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SAtk / 176 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Power Swap

I remember seeing this set somewhere before, I just don't know where. Power Swap + Draco Meteor is a very annoying combo, as each time you're at -2 after using a relatively powerful Draco Meteor, you can pass that on to your opponent, who suddenly becomes handicapped. Hidden Power Ground allows you to beat Probopass and friends, who can be real pains to deal with. Roost is chosen over Rest so you don't have to keep switching. 176 Spd allows Altaria to outspeed positively natured base 70s.

Altaria (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 248 SDef / 8 Spd
Calm Nature
- Cotton Guard
- Roost
- Toxic
- Fire Blast / Roar / Dragon Pulse

Altaria gets Cotton Guard, but most people usually favor Dragon Dance, Choice or support sets instead. Why not become an impossible son of a b*tch to kill outside of Ice Beams? Altaria has max special bulk so it can setup on special attackers such as Rotom-S, Zebstrika, Charizard or Seismitoad by using Cotton Guard to beef itself up against incoming physical attackers. Altaria can also setup on certain physical attackers as well, such as Samurott, non-Rock Slide Pede, Choiced Fighting-types and even Golurk which you outspeed so you can Roost before Ice Punch after a Cotton Guard to greatly weaken the damage, with 8 Speed EVs intended to outrun Golurks that want to outspeed Garbodors. From there, it's a simple case of Toxicing everything in sight and not dying, simple right?

The last move is for situations where that is not so simple. Poison (namely Grass-Poisons) and Steel types put up resistance to your stalling strategy, so Fire Blast will roast them up, and keeps Jynx at bay as well. Dragon Pulse is mainly for Poison-types not weak to Fire Blast such as Weezing and Skuntank, but isn't otherwise more worth than Fire Blast or Toxic in terms of damage output. Roar could be used to beat opposing boosters that try to match you, but due to the speed in which you accumulate boosts, you can easily phaze out stuff like Calm Mind Swoobat, Swords Dance Scolipede or Bulk Up Braviary before they can actually start hurting Altaria. Roar also annoys Substitute users which intend to block Toxic, or can be used to spread Toxic throughout the opponent's team.

Altaria @ Draco Plate
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Roost

in my opinion this altaria is much more destructive than the choice specs set, which is the only offensive one listed on-site for some reason. it is much less likely to be revenge killed and can punch a lot of holes in the opposing team if the opponent lacks a steel-type. substitute is the crux of this set, allowing it to boost against alomomola and seismitoad which usually relies on toxic to do damage to altaria.

I guess I should post my Altaria set.

Altaria @Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA/252 Spe/4 SpD
Modest Nature

-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast
-Roost
-Haze

Altaria is a great sweeper with good natural bulk, an immunity to status via natural cure, and neutral coverage with just two moves (in NU). With roost to heal off some of that life orb recoil and eliminate most of its weaknesses, Altaria can stick around for a while. Haze not only eliminates the negative stat change brought on by Draco Meteor, but also allows Altaria to function as a team player and stop opposing boosting sweepers. Haze is also more reliable than power swap. Since many Altaria are defensive or Dragon Dancers, it also draws in Physical walls/sweepers, and severely weakens them/KOs them.

Bulldoze also helps the team because a loss of speed makes most Pokemon who try to outspeed and OHKO with HP Ice redundant, especially as Altaria has Roost to heal off any damage.
Any comments?
i dont know why you say Samurrot is Altaria counter? Specially because his most popular set is the physical one.

Well, this is my set

Altaria (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- DragonBreath
- FeatherDance
- Roar
- Roost

This set acts as a bulky altaria capable of switching into most special moves except Ice beam. Featherdance is the move choosen if enemy tries to send a Physical attacker you jsut cut his Attack in Half!. DragonBreath is nice Stab with 30% to paralize which can help agasitn offfensive teams .avig their sweeepers paralyzed is great!. Roar is in case any Set up poke wants to Set in your face. Finally roost and Lefties are for reliable recovery.

Samurrot Altaria counter? LOL
Just a note that laughing at what they think is a counter isn't helpful. Rather mentioning what is a counter and why is more constructive (there's a list of relative questions in the first post - one which says "what counters this?") as it may help someone reconsider their set or help out someone else posting a set. :)

Cotton Guardian

Altaria @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 204 SDef / 56 Spd
Careful Nature
- Cotton Guard
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Roost

Leftovers is standard for recovery, and Natural Cure will let you heal status on the switch if you want Altaria to come back strong later. EVs are to maximize special defense while still hitting 210 speed to outrun 252 speed base 55 'mons like Relicanth, Exeggutor, Ampharos, and some wacky Golurk. It will also beat minimally invested base 85s like defensive Articuno.

-Cotton Guard is the crux of the set. After a single boost, Altaria's defense rockets up to 540. One more and it reaches a sky-high 864. With defenses like these, it's easy to start using Dragon Dance.

-Dragon Dance patches up Altaria's terrible uninvested base 70 attack and quickly lets Altaria outrun many unscarfed Pokemon. (Two boosts for most scarfers.)

-Dragon Claw is just about the best mono-attacking move available, but Outrage can be used if you don't care about being trapped.

-Roost is for instant recovery, and can make Altaria a real bastard to take down. It removes weaknesses to rock, halves the weakness to ice, and lets Altaria resist electric. (Though you'll need a DD or two to get it off first.)

It's incredibly easy to switch in and start using Cotton Guard against some Pokemon, particularly grass types. (The ones that don't have ice beam at the ready.) With Natural Cure, Altaria can come back again after being crippled. This set does face some issues with phazing if it isn't strong enough to break the phazer before boosting. Even at +6 defense, physical ice moves are still going to hurt a lot. I've used this set for a while, and Altaria can become an immediate threat three or four times a match, easily.

Somehow I knew I was gonna find ThePikaWu's Haze Altaria from Youtube somewhere :P

Altaria @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spd, 4 SpD
Modest Nature
-Perish Song
-Draco Meteor
-Hidden Power [Ground] / Fire Blast
-Rest / Roost

With counters to special Altaria all being weak to entry hazards (Lickilicky, Regice, etc.), this Altaria can easily lure them in and force them out with Perish Song, not giving them the chance to heal with Wish or Rest and forcing them to take another round of entry hazard damage the next time they switch in. Altaria can also further pressure them with a powerful Draco Meteor should they decide to stay in, bringing them even lower on health and with the combination of that and two switch-ins to hazards, these special walls won't be able to tank much of anything at that point. Special sets are obviously superior in the current meta for Altaria, which makes Draco a staple, and HP Ground vs. Fire Blast is up to whether you want to hit Probopass or Metang harder. Finally, Rest is preferred as the recovery move because it heals you fully and you have to switch out anyway (Perish Song), but Roost is better for late-game cleaning.

Like I said before, this Altaria works best with entry hazards, and it's especially good now as entry hazards are so easy to set up these days. Also, it's probably a good idea to have a spinner, because you're going to be switching a lot, and even though you have recovery, a lot of times you won't be able to use it. Finally, EVs maximize Speed and power, Life Orb gives attacks some extra boost, and that's pretty much it.

Just a note that laughing at what they think is a counter isn't helpful. Rather mentioning what is a counter and why is more constructive (there's a list of relative questions in the first post - one which says "what counters this?") as it may help someone reconsider their set or help out someone else posting a set. :)
LOL the laugh was what came first. Thats why i edited it 1 minute later because i realized my dumb post. Don't judge people early ..Thanks for the note tho.

Altaria @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP, 252 SDef, 8 Spe
Careful Nature
-Dragon Claw
-Roost
-Roar
-Sing / Toxic

Simple stuff with this set. Similar to the utility set on site but you drop heal bell for sing. 55 accuracy sucks but altaria is bulky enough to get multiple chances to use it. Once it lands, use roar and they're gonna have a tough time waking that mon up. Altaria can switch in on pretty much all the heal bellers as well so if they ever try to heal bell, just switch in and start the sleep/phaze chain again. Should ideally be paired with hazards. Careful and Dclaw > Calm and Dpulse because dclaw hurts gardevoir and jynx more but it works either way. Toxic is a decent option over sing too. Could run extra speed if you wanna outpace misdreavus.
