Greetings from the corner of Diagon Alley (R.I.P. Harry Potter franchise) and The Bosses' Way! Well, mostly The Bosses' Way. This will be the arena for a battle to be held shortly: a rematch between two competitors whose names can be conveniently abbreviated IAR and SoS! Here they are, taking the field(?) now, both striding confidently down the way with three Little Cup-legal Pokemon each in tow. Such grace! Such poise! Such confidence! Just kidding, this is Pokemon. :P

Description:

The arena is in a darkened, concrete indoor Gym with a large throne chair placed on top of a stone balcony with two flanking concrete brickwork stairwells on either side. In front of this lies a standard Gym floor pattern, with a twist. The arena is lined by 6 surrounding blue orbed poles that generate an electric field that keeps the Pokemon inside the 20 W x 40 L X 15 H (feet) arena. If any Pokemon other than an Electric or Ground type hits the barrier, they will suffer 4 HP damage. Resistance to electricity will reduce this damage by 2, while Weakness to electricity will increase it by 2.

Because it is enclosed, weather moves will not work in this arena. It has no water sources and the concrete is too thick and musty to be dug through. The arena has fairly low natural lighting, but most Pokemon can see just fine, and if the electric field is hit it will generate light.

Well, from left to right, if it it'll be Hijinks, Lil SoS, Boq for me anyway.

Hijinks, welcome to battle. Start off by shooting a scalding blast of water at Magby, and follow up with an Ice Beam for Elekid. Gogogo hax!

Lil SoS, set up a Light Screen as fast as you can, then hit Magby with a Fake Out.

Boq, use Payback on Mobius if you can, Elekid if you can't due to positioning twice.

EDIT: Derp, I forgot abilities. Hijinks will use Magic Guard, Lil SoS will use Filter, and Boq will use Iron Barbs.

Well...Here we go! SoS, I'd like you to meet the three "Monarchs" that I've brought along today.

Mobius specialises in in finding any potential traps you have & bust them, Zaborg specialises in destruction & aims to destroy one's chances of winning, & Thestalos specialises in making you run out of options, i.e. by making your Pokemon faint. Scary, isn't it? Well, get used to it.

First up, & some creativity shall be the order of the day, but however, the main problem today appears to be Light Screen, as it is really bad. So Mobius, I want you to open this duel with a nasty Fake Out on Lil SoS, denying our adversary of the Light Screen he desperately wants. At this point, the Speed Tie should sort itself out & we should get to business with dealing with Boq, so the best course of action would be for Zaborg to strike Boq with a Fire Punch for massive damage, sure we'll take a lot of damage, thanks to Iron Barbs, but the payoff will be big, trust me. To finish off Action One, Thestalos shall launch potentially his only action of the round & he shall take advantage with a supercharged Flamethrower at Boq.

That wasn't really creative, but for Action two, it ramps up! Zaborg will kick this one off with a Thunderbolt, striking Hijinks, but that's where Mobius comes in & uses Psychic on Boq, striking him & then placing it in a precise manner, to be exact, place him in the middle of an electric fence, so instead of using Payback, he'll be standing there rapidly being shocked & taking quite a large chunk of damage. Thestalos' actions are rather irrelevant, but if he gets his actions in, he shall launch another Flamethrower on Boq.

Round 1 Begin!

A few of the lost shoppers wandering down The Bosses' Way have stopped to watch the battle. IAR and SoS gather their nerves and release their Pokemon! Its_A_Random deploys Mobius the Smoochum, Zaborg the Elekid, and Thestalos the Magby, and Son_of_Shadoo releases Hijinks the Plicowatt, Lil SoS the Mime Jr., and Boq the Ferroseed. The battle begins!

Mobius delivers the first strike, faking Lil SoS out! Mobius snickers just a little bit as Lil SoS recoils, trying to figure out what just happened. Hijinks leaps to her partner's aid, scalding Thestalos somehow with a spray of boiling water! I'm not exactly sure how that's possible, since Thestalos is a Fire-type and all...Anyway, Zaborg moves next, running straight up to Boq and punching him in the face(?). The fire in that punch has left a few char marks on Boq sturdy hide, but his spikes have left tiny indents in Zaborg's fist. Boq smirks (as much as something with no visible mouth can smirk), before his temporary joy is cut off by a flamethrower-wielding Thestalos! The Magby goes berserk, nuking Boq with a massive inferno of death! Lil SoS attempts to set up a Light Screen, but he loses his concentration due to Fake Out. Boq, who was really looking forward to that Light Screen, gets payback on Mobius by using...Payback. How appropriate.

Lil SoS, in a fit of anger, uses Mobius's strategy against Thestalos, delivering some small damage with a Fake Out. Zaborg calls his daddy Zeus (I watched Hercules an hour ago, okay?) and asks if Hijinks could maybe, you know, be struck down or something? Zeus happily obliges, blasting Hijinks with one of his mighty Grecian thunderbolts! The power of the gods is infused into that thunderbolt, so it shouldn't be a surprise that Hijinks becomes paralyzed as a result of the attack. But what's this? It appears that Hijinks has managed to avoid paralysis due to his Electric typing! This can only mean one thing: Poseidon is Hijinks's father! (Don't ask.) Hijinks launches a revenge Ice Beam at Zaborg, but Poseidon doesn't feel like freezing anyone today. While Hijinks calls his dad to ask what his problem is (teenagers ftl), Thestalos pulls out his trusty flamethrower again. This time, though, he drops it before he can launch it, leaving Lil SoS to grin goofily in the corner. Mobius uses her psychic powers to create the strip with which she shares her name, and Boq is forced to roll around on it for a while. Mobius grows bored of this after a minute, so she decides to just hurl Boq into the electric fence. The attack deals a small amount of damage, but Boq's resistance to electricity allows him to roll quickly back into the arena and get payback on his tormentor again. Mobius takes quite a bit of damage from that. She looks mad. No- She. Looks. SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! /endstupidity

No one gets out of the first round unharmed, but some Pokemon look worse off than others. This is shaping up interestingly; which side will be the first to receive a KOC?

Zaborg, begin this by ramping it up on Hijinks with a Cross Chop, while Thestalos takes care of Boq once & for all with a supercharged Flare Blitz. Mobius, I want you to ensure that everything goes to plan by using Fake Out on Hijinks to guarantee the KO.

With Boq (Hopefully) out of the way, we can continue to deal with Hijinks with Zaborg using Thunderbolt on Hijinks & Thestalos using Confuse Ray on Lil SoS, or FBing Boq if he's still alive. Mobius can round this out by giving Hijinks a Heart Stamp.

Round 3 Begin!

Quite a crowd has now gathered around the heated battle here at The Bosses' Way, where IAR and SoS are going to lol, as one of the pedestrians says he'll brb because he needs to xyzpdq. Anyway, Hijinks leads off the round with a Scalding pot of water, which she promptly hurls at Mobius. She looks ticked, and a ticked woman is a baaaaaaaaad thing. Zaborg, who can't stand the sight of people having water thrown at them, gets very cross and attempts to chop Hijinks into some tasty shrimp to add to the wannabe soup. Then all eyes turn to Thestalos, as he is somehow shooting rainbows out of his eyes. The magic rainbows pick up Hijinks and toss her high into the air. Call me psychic, but I have a feeling that Hijinks isn't going to endure that attack. *insert falling here* *thud* Yep, I was right. It looks like a drop from such a high altitude was too much for her little shrimpy body, and Hijinks faints! To add insult to injury, the rainbows struck a weak point in her armor, causing a critical hit! There's no way Hijinks would have taken 3 damage from that without a crit... Mobius, who was about to do exactly the same thing Thestalos just did, turns her attention to SoS's last remaining Pokemon, Lil SoS. Upon seeing Mobius's angry glare, he quickly turns around and tries to run away. His speed is a little lacking, though, as Mobius quickly gains on him and pounds him in the back with an Ice Punch. In his desperation to survive, he fires a Shadow Ball straight at Mobius, but she has anticipated the attack and dives to one side just before impact.

Lil SoS looks absolutely petrified now, as Zaborg, Thestalos, and Mobius stalk ever closer to him while leaning forward and snapping their fingers. Somehow, they also all managed to acquire black leather jackets. Lil SoS is concerned for his young life at this point, but they've got him pinned in a corner. Zaborg leads off the mugging, shanking Lil SoS with a Thunderpunch. As the apprentice mime recoils, Thestalos springs forward with a Faint Attack. The attack is weakened by Lil SoS's Filter, but Thestalos somehow strikes yet another weak point, scoring his second critical hit of the round. Before Mobius gets a chance to strike, though, a weird glowing symbol appears above Thestalos's head. It looks like...an episode of Wheel of Fortune? Zaborg, son of Zeus, knows exactly what it means: Thestalos is the son of Tyche, Greek goddess of luck! If he proves himself well enough on Earth, he could become one of the next hax gods! Mobius, who has already been outdone twice by Thestalos this round, aims her Ice Punch without actually looking, still hitting Lil SoS due to Thestalos's mere presence. Lil SoS takes advantage of the distraction to blow Mobius away with Shadow Ball, lowering her Special Defense in the process. Didn't see that one coming!

This match is pretty much over, but I still have to ref another round. Who will win?

Poor Lil SoS. The IAR Gang creeps up on him again, ready to pound his petite mime-ish body to a pulp. Zaborg delivers the first strike, shanking Lil SoS with another Thunderpunch. Son_of_Shadoo begs for mercy, but Thestalos pays him no heed. Summoning his Tyche-given powers, he Flare Blitzes Lil SoS to the magical land of Kingdom Come. The critical hit was completely unnecessary, but Thestalos really enjoys showing off his heritage. As SoS calls his Pokemon back, the crowd erupts into great cheers: Its_A_Random wins!
