Now here is the arena this battle will take place on...
Arena: Bolt Beach
A 120 * 100 * 100 Room, Bolt Beach is an artificial haven. Above the arena is a glass dome, where spectators watch, whilst trainers have podiums to issue commands from elevated podiums at opposite ends of the arena. Bolt Beach is mainly a bright yellow sand, and a dark yellow water. There are a few palm trees, although they give off a slight green glow.

Features:

- Electricity in the sand means that electric types all learn Charge, and the effect lasts for 9 actions.
- The sand reduces the BP of Seismic attacks by 1, and lowers dig's priority on tunnelling down to -0.5.
- Attacks which require natural sunlight cannot work.
- Attacks which cannot work in an artificial environment do work, but paralyse the user 5% of the time as if hit by Thunder Wave, since the "Nature" is electric.
- Nature Power is treated as Shock Wave.
- There is a constant rainfall in the arena, which cannot be changed.
- Mud Sport is washed away at the end of each round.

"Oh, how smart of you, bringing punching bags with decent defenses. However, a punching bag is still that. Short Fuse [Electivire] @ Expert Belt, crush those who oppose you!"

Gliscor, I think we can take that oversized pikachu on! A life orb would be fitting for this situation.

how did I completely miss that....

"First is the worst, but at least that thing can't hurt us much. Speed ties royally suck, however."

Substitute 20~Earthquake~Poison Sting (Self, Activate Poison Heal)

IF Ice Punch (including Ice Punch combos), THEN Counter that action and push others back.
IF Taunt (expand this to all Dark-type Status moves, if possible, I can't find substitution rules), THEN Evasive Agility that action and push other back (this substitution can only activate on non-consecutive actions).

Leader Dogfish44 vs. Challenger Kaxtar (3v3 Singles) - IAR Refs - Round 1

You cannot substitute for Non-Damging Type Move. Also, testing a new singles format...

LEADER DOGFISH44 VS. CHALLENGER KAXTAR

Round One - Fight!

At the beginning of what is shaping to be a cracking match on a rain-plagued beach, Dogfish44 opens with his trusty Electivire: Short Fuse, who is instantly charged with the sand in the ground! In response, Kaxtar sends out his Gliscor! For items, Dogfish44 gives his Pokemon a belt, while Kaxtar gives his Pokemon an orb of energy. Bringing up their Stats...

HP: 100 / Energy: 100
Stats: 4 / 5 / 1 / 3 / 95
SC/WC/BRT: 3 / 3 / 19

Gliscor kicks off the match by siphoning some of his energy into a stuffed doll which then takes the place of Gliscor! Short Fuse has none of that, & takes advantage to use to power of the magnetism in the sand to thrust himself in the air, safe from any earth assaults! Gliscor is not buying into it & tests out the magnetism by pounding the ground with a tremour! Luckily for Short Fuse, the tremour does not affect him one bit, & he takes a page out of Gliscor's book, siphoning some of his life force into a levitating stuffed doll! In the battle of the stuffed dolls, Short Fuse hovers over & whacks Gliscor's stuffed doll with a cold punch, decimating it in one fell swoop! The real Gliscor then comes into view & attempts to retaliate, but it is impossible to do so when he has no energy to rebound...

So, with the round done, it seems that Dogfish44 has done well acting second to put himself in a nice position. how will Dogfish44 consolidate that advantage, & how will Kaxtar fight back? Find out in Round Two...

"Well then, let's see if we can not make great fools of ourselves!"

Taunt ~ Ice Punch ~ Flamethrower

IF Protective/Evasive move A1, THEN Feint AND push actions down.
IF Under the effect of Torment when Ice Punch would be used, THEN Low Sweep

Aqua Tail~Counter~Dig

Sweet, assuming that Aqua Tail hits (please god), we should break the sub, smack E-Vire with counter, watch as flamethrower does little in the rain, and finish up with a powerful Dig. Not too shabby.

Short Fuse begins annoyed at the Gliscor, so he makes some irritating insults which enrage the Gliscor! This makes Gliscor go on an attacking spree, enveloping his tail in water, before striking Short Fuse's stuffed doll with it, ripping it apart in one fell swoop, before losing some life force from his orb. Ouch! Short Fuse then makes Gliscor pay by walloping him with a powerful cold punch which deals intense damage! Gliscor is not concerned, & simply responds by retaliating with a powerful knock, which deals massive damage in return! Finally, Short Fuse lets off a powerful stream of fire which strikes Gliscor in a weak spot for a Critical Hit! Ouch! Though the attack was literally watered down, Gliscor then burrowed into the hard, electrical sand, before coming up & striking Short Fuse for more damage!

Round End, & Kaxtar has done well to get back advantage, but his Gliscor is Taunted, & is starting to run low on energy...What will happen next round? We will find out soon enough!

I have reason to believe that substitution is illegal - Namely the "(including Ice Punch combos with an Ice typing)" section - however, since I can't get a straight answer either way (And I don't want to order with a sub which I can't be certain on =\), I'd like it if you could either confirm the legality yourself, and either change to a legal sub if it is illegal or post here (Preferably with a quote from the DAT an ASB mod) if it's legal.

Fine, I'll change the second sub to "IF physical Ice-typed attack, THEN change that action to Counter and push other actions back."

"You can either sub for "Damaging Ice-Move", or "Ice Punch". The former will trigger if a combination contains any Ice-Attack, the latter if "Ice Punch" is used in a combo or not. You cannot sub for "a combo including Ice Punch and being ice typed" as well as "Ice Punch alone" in one substitution - that takes 2 substitutions.

And yes, "Physical Ice-Typed attack" is illegal."

LEADER DOGFISH44 VS. CHALLENGER KAXTAR

Round Four - Equalising...

And so, with Dogfish44 taking the first blood, Kaxtar is forced to send in Onyx the Hydreigon in Gliscor's place! As with Gliscor, Kaxtar hands her a ball of energy, & gets ready to fight Short Fuse!

Short Fuse begins tired from his last attack, cooling down from his previous attack, as Short Fuse takes advantage, siphoning a lot of her health into a stuffed doll, which takes her place! Short Fuse then sees the stuffed doll, & hammers it with a cold fist of ice, but the sturdy doll remains, as Onyx lets off an explosive detonation from under Short Fuse, knocking him high into the air before plummeting into the sand, not able to get back up. 2-2 Draw!

Round done, & while Kaxtar managed to level the scores, he did it in not the most efficient of ways, & must cool down A1, but being behind a stuffed doll, there is not much to potentially lose...What will happen next round? We will find out soon enough.
