If you have a simple question not deserving of its own thread, you can post it here and one of us will most likely reply with an answer.

If you have a suggestion for Shoddy Battle 2, post in its thread instead.

I asked for an OU battle and someone accepted. I had 2 pokemon on my team that were in the UU tier which seemed to upset my opponent a little. They said next time ask for a standard battle. (I won so I dont think Its because they were too weak, and the ones that were UU did the most damage) It was my perception that OU meant that tier and anything below. I normally ask for an OU battle since the rest of my pokes are in OU tier is that wrong?

Ok thanks, I was a little confused, Im new here but I been in a had full of battles but nobody else said anything about. So thanks for the clarification

Yeah, you did nothing wrong. I use some BL pokemon and people advise me not to occasionally, but they don't get angry.

I don't see how a question regarding tiers is relevant to shoddybattle.

Anyways, at the top of the team builder there's a Plugin option. Does this have any use?

No one's really written any plugins, except for Dragontamer's Defense Tier plugin.

xlxls315, your opponent was just being a moron. You're completely allowed to use any Pokémon in any tier below the metagame you are playing (so everything but Ubers is okay in OU, in UU you can use NUs, etc.)

I have posted in another thread, but I never received any help and I'm a bit desperate. Shoddybattle is like my "crack", it's what keeps me sane and I'm going crazy without it. lol help me. please.
Ok, I have a problem too XD. It's done it to me before, but this time I can't seem to fix it myself. Somehow, shoddy just seems to malfunction on me. I'll try to open it up like I do any other day and I get the "unable to launch application" error message. This time I tried to open it and it went to the box that it does when you first downloading it, like it's "re-downloading". I uninstalled it, I used everything you told MagicMaster87 (using the java control panel). Everytime I try to download it, the application stalls. It says "download stalled", of course, after it counts up the time for which it will take if it even installed it. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my computer as it's been moving slow, oddly enough. I need help and I figure this is the thread to ask on. ^^ Intended for ColinJF+ or anyone who can help me. ^^ I'll be waiting. Also, if it helps any, I use Windows Vista Home Basic.

When it says "download stalled," keep it open. It'll resume after a minute or so.

It didn't work, sadly. :( After I tried this It gave me the application unable to launch message. I clicked on details to see if that would help. I got this: Launch file tab, exception, and wrapped exception. They have some weird codes on each of them. I don't know if that helps, but it's directed at anyone that it does. ^^ Thank you, Veedrock, for your suggestion. Too bad it didn't work :( Also, thanks in advance to whoever else helps me next. ^^

the application unable to launch message with these details:

This is my computer's details when I can't launch ShoddyBattle. When I saved it, it won't play (and this comes up), and when I open it, nothing happens.

Basically I am having a competition with my friend IRL and I want to have a rotom in washer form but every time I try to battle him my rotom reverts to regular form. Is there any way I can battle without Rotom reverting?

I can't connect to the server, I get the error messages "java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: socket", and "can't connect to SOCKS proxy". Basically "blah blah blah". How can I fix this?

Unable to install Shoddy Battle

When I try to install Shoddy Battle I get the message: "Unable to launch the application."

Anyone know how to fix this issue? I've already installed Java, so that's not the problem.

I cant connect to any servers. When I try, it comes up with...

An error occurred while attempting to connect to the server

Connection refused: connect

...How do I fix this?

Well, anyway, I fixed it.

Maybe you need to do the same as I did.

Control Panel > Other Control Panel Options > Java > Network Settings

Tick Direct Connection, click OK, Apply, OK.

Take care

I can't find the program on my computer.

I end up having to re-download the program every time I want to use the program because I can't find the program on my hard drive or whatever. I'm using a Mac by the way.

I use a mac too and it is pretty buggy. When you click the download link, save the jnlp file instead of opening it. then, when you want to launch the program just double click the file.
