Battle in the Stereotypical Stadium! Terrador14 vs. SDS! [WON BY SDS]

Status
Not open for further replies.
Brandon patiently waited in the arena for the trainers that would be battling here soon, Flamestrike standing behind him. As the first trainer entered, the Magby started bouncing up and down in recognition. “Heh, clearly you remember Terrador from the last battle we reffed,” Brandon told Flamestrike. Looking to the other side, he watched as Terrador’s opponent, Seven Deadly Sins, entered as well. “Another experienced opponent for Terrador,” Brandon thought to himself. “He’s not shying away from a challenge, that’s for sure.” Flamestrike nodded in agreement as Brandon reread the rules for the match.

[22:41] <Terrador> Stereotypical Stadium
[22:41] <Terrador> Ground can be Dug in
[22:41] <Terrador> Room to Fly and for very large pokes
[22:41] <Terrador> no other gimmicks

Seeing nothing of note, Brandon decided to look over the teams while the trainers made their final preparations.

"Looks like SDS has quite the advantage..." Brandon thought to himself. Flamestrike tugged at his pants and pointed to the stadium, where the trainers were waiting to get going. "Oh, sorry guys. Anyway, you guys probably know how this works. As seeker, Terrador sends out his two Pokemon first, then SDS will send his out and issue his orders, and then Terrador will give his orders. I'll figure out what went down, update you guys, then Terrador will give his orders. SDS will follow, I'll figure things out again and we'll repeat those steps, alternating who goes first. Good luck to both of you, let's do this!"

1. Terrador sends out Pokemon
2. SDS sends out Pokemon and issues actions
3. Terrador issues actions
4. I ref
5. Terrador issues actions
6. SDS issues actions
7. I ref
8. 5-7 repeat with the order of 5 and 6 swapped each round

Terrador, you're up!

Terrador surveys the lineup that SDS has chosen. A powerful group, to be sure, but he had a good idea of which pokes would be most effective against them.

"Shao, Celeste! I choose you!"

In dual flashes of white light, Shao and Celeste appeared on the battlefield. Shao was perfectly at home, but Celeste's footing (appendaging?) was a bit unstable.

"Your move, SDS."

I'm choosing a hard-hitting Rock-type duo! Go, Paradiso and T-Wrecks!

Wait a minute, what's this? Paradiso is evolving! (-20 Energy)

First, we've gotta deal with Celeste, as its Hydro Pump is extremely lethal to our team. We aint pullin NO punches here. Paradiso, start things off with a super-fast Agility-boosted Head Smash combination to strike hard and fast. Next, Hone up your Claws for the next round, we want you fighting fit.

T-Wrecks, follow up Paradiso's vicious attack on Celeste with an Assurance, which should be boosted by Paradiso's damage. After that, drop a Rock Slide on both opponents, and then finish it up with an Earthquake!

This pair hit very hard indeed, but I was certain that I could deal a respectable amount of damage to the duo. Knowing that my first priority was to activate Archeops' Defeatist ability, I sprung into action.

"Mienfoo, open it up with a Fake Out to Archeops, which should disrupt his combo. Celeste, use that window for an Hydro Pump on Archeops - no holding back, now! Mienfoo, follow up your opening Fake Out with a Swords Dance to get yourself in fighting condition. Celeste, I want you to use Ice Beam on Archeops - he should be in horrid shape after this. Mienfoo, launch a Stone Edge at Archeops; Defeatist should definitely be activated by then. Celeste, use Hydro Pump on Cranidos if Archeops is below half health, if not, redirect it to Archeops."

Both Pokemon were at the ready - Mienfoo with his cocky assurance, and Celeste with her unsteady gait. Both knew that this round would be a fierce slug-off, and both fervently hoped for victory in this round.

Flavour will hopefully come later when we aren't in such a rush.

I hope I dealt with the combo well enough :/ SDS needs to replace Paradiso then Terrador can order, please look over this a few times to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. EDIT: I am a dolt, Paradiso is NOT dead, I had the Hydro Pump magically hitting both him and T-Wrecks >.> Terrador, orders please

Terrador assessed the rather grim situation - Celeste wasn't going to last much longer, and Shao was in bad shape. Knowing that, he continued with his plan.

"Celeste, I want you to use Hydro Pump on Archeops until it's down or you are. If Archeops goes down, hit Cranidos instead. Shao, use Stone Edge on Archeops if you're acting while it's alive; after that, spam Low Kick at Cranidos."

Paradiso, a good show. Pound Shao with Acrobatics until either it or you goes down. T-Wrecks, you drop an Earthquake on them. After that, slow Shao down with a Scary Face, and then hit it with another Earthquake!

Gilgamesh, let's start it up! Drop a trio of Earthquakes on the opposing team! T-Wrecks, fire off as many Ice Beams as you can at Larvitar before you go down!

Terrador assessed the situation, which most would have given up for lost. However, Terrador had an idea: perhaps it could work.

"Shao, use Low Kick on Pupitar until you get KO'd. Caesar, use Earthquake three times in a row!"

Caesar set into an agressive pose, and Shao staggered forward for his final attacks.

"Miennnn... FOO!"
"Lar, Larvitar!"

Not even going to bother with T-Wrecks and Shao's summaries since they both die right away.

And then SDS finishes it off with one more EQ! This battle is a lesson to everyone: do not attempt to complete a game in 3-4 hours in the middle of the night >.> Anyway, thanks for bearing with me and helping to get it done quicker. Counters:
-I get 4 RC
-SDS and Terrador each get 2 TC
-All 6 Pokemon used get 1 EC, 1 MC and 1 DC
-Mienfoo gets 1 KO (giving him Cranidos unless someone objects)
-Staryu gets 1 KO (Archeops)
-Cranidos gets 1 KO (Staryu)
-Pupitar gets 2 KO (Mienfoo and Larvitar)

That was a pretty epic fight, and far closer than I had reason to expect. GG SDS, and many thanks to Flamestrike for reffing this bout.

EDIT: Tee hee 100 HP Larvitar in IRC. You know what I'm talking about.
