TWO TURN BRAWLS

HOW ROUNDS PLAY OUT

On the first round, the trainer we assign to go first will post his/her moves first, then the second trainer will respond. The apprentice or myself will then quickly post the results. Then, for the second round, the player who went second now goes first. The other trainer responds, and the apprentice or myself will respond. Each round consists of three actions for each Pokemon.

JUDGING TWO TURN BRAWLS
Unlike normal battles, the goal of Two Turn Brawls is to see if you’ve mastered the skills of the ASB world. So, it will take more than just causing the most damage to win this battle! We have a unique scoring system that will judge you on how well you performed. It goes like this:

HP Remaining (Total HP – damage lost)
Energy Remaining ((Total energy – energy lost) / 2)
Status Caused (+5 per status)
Stat Dropped (+5 per move)
Stat Boosted (+5 per move)
Substitute Intact (HP remaining for the Substitute+5)

All of these variables will be added for a total, and the person with the most points at the end of the two turns will win the battle! If you win, you receive two Dojo Counters which can be used at our small convenience shop. If you lose, don’t worry, you don’t leave empty handed: you get one Dojo Counter!

Here we are, trainers and trainees, with the first ever Two Turn Brawl here at the Expert Belt Dojo! Remember to take notes as the match goes on - you might be able to learn a thing or two from these aspiring trainers!

Shovrill the Drilbur is the first to make an action. He dives into a nearby mud pool and starts to spin itself like a drill on the surface! By combining Mud Slap and Rapid Spin, Shovrill is able to create a rather large amount of mud, which flies at a fast pace and hits Yodawg for resisted damage. Yodawg's accuracy has been lowered by two stages! Yodawg the Lotad is the next up, blinded greatly by the mud in its eyes. From the top of its leaf-like hat sprouts some Leech Seeds! They fly right at Shovrill, but miss their target!

Shovril takes this turn to rest from all of that spinning, while Yodawg prepares a mighty Surf! The large wave fills the arena, but Drilbur hides in the small pit of mud and the Surf misses!

Shovril, happy and healthy, flings up from the mound of dirt and uses his skills to perform an Aerial Ace! The move hits for great damage! Yodawg, upset at not being able to see, takes power from around itself and emits a large red beam: Giga Drain! This time, the move connects, and hits Shovrill for super effective damage!

Happily, Shovrill launches an Aerial Ace right at Yodawg, which hits for super effective damage! Yodawg, furious, unleashes its might in a powerful Surf attack! This time, the wave doesn't miss, and it strikes Shovrill for massive, super-effective damage!

Shovrill decides to end the match with a Fury Swipes! It slashes at its opponent twice, and finishes the attack. Yodawg concentrates and fires off one last Giga Drain to end the match! The beam hits Shovrill for super effective damage!

Oh well, gg Darkamber, you were a great opponent, sucks to lose by one measly point (Curses Fury Swipes hax), but yeah. I like these two turn brawls, it was a lot of fun to participate & I do hope this improves my Drilbur & make him a far better player. DarkSlay reffed like a boss & I do hope everyone enjoyed CAP ASB's first ever two-turn brawl. Until next time...

BEGIN FIRST ROUND

Welcome trainers to another Two Turn Brawl! Make sure you take some notes from this battle: you never know what you'll learn!

Squishy the Mantyke goes first, and takes the opportunity to set up a Rain Dance! The field starts to get covered in rain clouds, and rain starts to pour heavily onto the battlefield! Rain will be falling for the entirety of the match! Forest Fire the Embirch, not wanting to waste any time, decides to attack first with a strong Seed Bomb! The seeds smack Squishy hard for good damage!

Before Squishy prepares for her attack, Forest Fire creates a small force field and stands in a protective stance, hoping to Protect itself from the incoming damage! Protect will block an opponent's move for this action! Squishy inhales some of the rain and produces a massive Hydro Pump from within itself! The flow of water flies right at Forest Fire, but hits the protective shield, causing no damage to Forest Fire!

Squishy takes the opportunity to go over to a nearby fountain. She combines the waters of each of the dojo's fountains to create a massive Surf! The large wall of water flies at Forest Fire, hitting it for great damage! Forest Fire responds by absorbing natural energy, which produces a red beam of light that flies at Squishy: Giga Drain! This hits Mantyke for good damage while also slightly healing Forest Fire.

Enters the dojo with Shovrill in tow, & finds a trainer with a Bolderdash waiting for my actions.

"Alright, Shovrill, time to continue our Combo-Training! I want you to open this with your Rapid Spin+Mud Slap Combo! This will reduce his accuracy 2 stages & should so SE damage! Even with Levitate for an ability, he won't be able to dodge such an attack with mud flinging into the air. Pity the combo takes up two actions...Finish up the round by firing a Rock Slide, for some more damage."

Also, I'll spend my dojo counter on a TC, since Kaxtar delivered on his promise.
 
Righto, this is going to be tough, but let's do this! Start off by using a quick Substitute (12 HP) to dodge the accuracy loss! Then, Energy Ball in the opening he's giving us. Finish with an Acupressure while he Rock Slides!

Round One Start!

Welcome to yet another Two-Turn Brawl; hopefully you'll learn something new every time!

Venser's Rube starts this brawl off by creating a Substitute doll that drops down from the sky. Rube is suddenly nowhere to be seen! Unphased by this sudden development, Shovrill spins rapidly in the Dojo while kicking up large clumps of mud. The mud splatters all over the arena, especially the doll. The doll loses its vitality and Rube reappears, good as new.

As Shovrill recovers from his rather exhausting move combo, Rube takes the opportunity to shoot a green ball of glowing life at the tired Drilbur, dealing significant damage.

Glad at the large amount of damage dealt, Rube congratulates himself by striking himself in a pressure point, which also has the effect of raising his special attack by a whopping two stages! Shovrill dampens Rube's spirits by summoning a swath of boulders to fall on Rube; luckily, Rube is too preoccupied to attempt to evade the attack.

Ah yes, my trusty Medicham Frollo. After your latest battle on Tilt Panic, you're looking somewhat happier than usual. Maybe it's because you'd been waiting so long to get a KO, and then you went and got two.

OK Frollo (who will obviously be using Pure Power and not Telepathy - I'm pretty sure the OP said these matches were one ability), start off with a Calm Mind. Then, if you are hit by a damaging attack on the first action, I want you to combine Drain Punch and Ice Punch. If not, use Bulk Up and then Ice Punch.

"Okay, that went better than expected..."

"Alright, Shovrill, I want you to Dig first action. Stay down there second action, & finish up by coming out & firing a Mud Sport+Crush Claw combo from behind if possible. The two moves will combine for a Ground Type attack, but the Bolderdash will still be hit, as we'll hit him from close quarters & deliver a damage output similar to Earthquake & maybe even a possible Defence drop! If the ref says otherwise & doesn't approve of the combo on the final action, then we'll just deliver a Rock Slide instead."
 
Embirch, combine Sweet Scent and Seed Bomb to make a sweet smelling bomb. The Mantyke will come running towards it, only to be hit. Then use Giga Drain to get some energy back. Finish by using Protect if Mantyke attacks with a powerful (>60 BP) water move, and Giga Drain if not.

Round Two Start!

Welcome back to the final round of this two-turn Brawl, where the winner will be announced at the end!

Rube starts us off by shooting a jet of red light towards Shovrill. The jet goes by so fast you can almost hear somebody shout "STUPEFY!" The beam of light deals significant damage to Shovrill, and it also heals Rube for a bit! Shovrill reacts quite violently to the attack, suddenly burrowing deep beneath the Dojo floor. Well, the Dojo is going to have to spend some money for renovations after this! Shovrill suddenly surfaces, dealing significant damage to Rube.

Rube retaliates with another Giga Drain, dealing significant damage and healing him again. Shovrill chooses to actually be interesting as he covers his claws in mud and slashes viciously at Rube, dealing huuuge damage and lowering its Defense by one stage!

Rube is still boring as it fires off another Giga Drain.
