Brandon walked into the Tournament Arena, greeting Charmander who waited for him to start the battle. He wasted no time. "Go, Seedstrike and Shockstrike!" The Grotle and Monohm arrived on the field, but before Charmander could send out his own Pokemon Seedstrike started to glow, and suddenly before them stood not a Grotle, but a Torterra!

FlyerFries:

Start by burning it with Will-O-Wisp! Aim for the tree/body area to try to hinder its ability to use its vines. Anywhere is fine though, just make sure it hits. Next, since we really want that thing burned from the start, hit it with another Will-O-Wisp if it managed to avoid the first one, but if it is already burned, use Sunny Day instead. Either way, end strong with Fire Blast.

Will-O-Wisp Seedstrike > Will-O-Wisp (if Seedstrike is not burned) Seedstrike / Sunny Day (if Seedstrike is burned) > Fire Blast Seedstrike

Cloud:

We really want Torterra out of the way as it could be a threat with Leech Seed and such. Begin with a Flamethrower at Torterra! Next, if it is raining, hit Torterra with a Gale! If it is sunny, hit it with another Flamethrower! Do the same for action three!

There's not much you can do about that burn, but we'll handle it another way. Finish off with a Crunch on Volcarona! Shockstrike, start off with a Rain Dance to put the weather in our favour, then use Heal Bell to get rid of Seedstrike's burn! If he isn't burnt, then go for a Thunderbolt on Volcarona! Finish off with a Hydro Pump on Volcarona!"

Standing in the tournament arena were two Trainers: One more experienced, the other less. Regardless, they were both veterans of many battles, and neither would go down easily.
The battle opened with Flamestrike sending out Seedstrike the Grotle and Shockstrike the Monohm. However, as Seedstrike came out of his Poke Ball, he evolved into Torterra at the prompting of his Trainer! -Charmander- responded by sending out his own Pokemon: FlyerFries the Larvesta and Cloud the Cyclohm. Just like Seedstrike before him, FlyerFries became the mighty Volcarona at his Trainer's command. With all the Pokemon on the field, the battle could begin.
Seedstrike began by using Protect to weather the assaults of the opposing Pokemon. Sure enough, FlyerFries's Will-o-Wisp and Cloud's Flamethrower both dissipated against the protective screen. After the Fire attacks were executed, Shockstrike used Rain Dance to set off a downpour in the arena. Against the backdrop of the driving rain, the battle continued.
At the beginning of the second spurt of actions, FlyerFries once again attempted to burn Seedstrike with Will-o-Wisp, and this time, he succeeded. Seedstrike writhed as his internal organs were lit aflame. His pains were further compounded by Cloud's incredibly powerful Hurricane, which knocked him (Seedstrike) for a loop. However, before the previously inflicted burn could inflict any real damage on Seedstrike, Shockstrike came to the rescue by using Heal Bell to alleviate the burn. Seedstrike ended the second part of the round by using Leech Seed on FlyerFries, allowing him to drain the flaming bug's health in future actions.
FlyerFries was once again the first to move after the Leech Seed, unleashing a crushing Fire Blast on Seedstrike. This assault was supplemented by Cloud's massive Hurricane (on Seedstrike), which left Seedstrike much worse for wear. Flamestrike's force wasn't helpless, however; Shockstrike and Seedstrike converged on FlyerFries, using Hydro Pump and Crunch respectively. Once they backed away after their ferocious assault, the referee stepped in to put a temporary stop to the action.
"All right, guys! I'll update you on your Pokemon, then you can continue battle! Flamestrike, you're next to move!"

With driving rain relentlessly in the tournament arena, the intense match between -Charmander- and Flamestrike continued into its second round. -Charmander-'s FlyerFlies opened up the round by converting the weather back to its favor: That is, sun, using Sunny Day to clear the skies overhead. Bolstered by the blazing solar rays, Cloud spewed a torrent of flames from his mouth towards Seedstrike. The Flamethrower ravaged Seedstrike; he could barely stand after the swirling fire. A burn was left on the tree growing from its back. Knowing that the Sunny Day would be near impossible to combat, Shockstrike used Rain Dance to summon a new swath of clouds to cover the arena. Seedstrike tried to act after his partner, but tripped and hit the ground instead. When Flamestrike wandered to the side of the arena, he saw that Seedstrike clearly was KO'd in its confusion, and called back the turtle.
Once Seedstrike was off the field, -Charmander-'s small squad resumed its assault. FlyerFries, however, wasn't offensively minded at the time; it Chilled to regain energy after the draining attacks of previous rounds. Cloud, not of such a defensive bent, used Twister to ravage the opposing Monohm. After shaking off the recoil from the mystic tornado, Shockstrike used Thunderbolt, launching a bolt of lightning at FlyerFlies in an attempt to achieve some parity in this round.
Parity, however, would not be seen anytime soon. FlyerFlies used Sunny Day to clear the skies above once more, knowing that restoring the rain would occupy Shockstrike. Before the Monohm could react, its tremendous cousin launched another Twister, throwing Shockstrike a solid distance. Sure enough, it used Rain Dance to return Rain to the tournament arena once the Twister wore off.

The battle was drawing to a close in the blazing sunlight. Galvanized by the burning rays of the sun Flamestrike used Will-o-Wisp on Metal... but it missed! Cloud took his turn to attack with a Sheer Force Twister, which left Flamestrike staggering and knocked out the bedraggled Shockstrike. Metal supplemented the Twister assault with a Head Smash; although it put a massive dent into Flamestrike, Metal took some recoil as well.
Flamestrike was once again able to initiate the battle, this time with a Cross Chop to Metal. Its outstanding physical defense allowed it to shrug off the hit with relative ease, but it certainly stung. It was surprised to feel the cool Rain Dance on its skull, courtesy of its partner Cloud. Metal decided that enough was enough: it was time for decisive action, here and now! One final Head Smash brought the flaming beast to its knees.
"All right, Trainers, the battle is over! -Charmander- has won! And now, for the rewards:
"-Charmander and Flamestrike each get 2 Trainer Counters for being here today!
