Mario Kart battle: Limewire vs TravelLog (ref = Lakitu Objection)

Battle!

2 vs 2 singles
3 Day DQ
2 Recover, 5 chills

Arena: Mario Kart Stadium!

This isn't your ordinary battle. The match takes place on a racing track. The battlers will be driving two karts along the course. There is a pick-up truck between the two, and on the pick-up truck is an arena! The arena is 40 feet wide and 60 feet long, made out of solid cement. If Pokemon get knocked out of the arena, they will teleport back into the center, but lose 7 HP.

In addition, at the end of every round, trainers will hit an item box that will give them special items. The special items last for one action only, and trainers can only have one special item at a time. Here are the list of special items, and the probability of getting one:

Mushroom (25%): Decreases the energy cost of a move by 3.

Shell (25%): Increases the damage of an attack by 3.

Star (15%): Decreases damage done from enemy attacks by 50%.

Bomb-Omb (15%): Deals 10 damage to the foe, and 5 damage to the user.

Boo (10%): Takes no damage from an attack on the round that the item is used.

Inkblot (10%): Decreases the accuracy of the opponent's move by 30% for the next two actions.
@Limewire: I am so down for this. Mario Kart FTW.
We just need a ref.

Switch=KO
Abilities=all
Items=None
Don't ask me how a 40x60 arena can fit on a pickup-truck. I'm just a Lakitu!

Getting knocked out of the arena will be troublesome. I should send out something that can float.

Go, Kax$tar the Togetic!

Go Loki the Syclar!

You're faster than him, so let's start things out with a Tail Glow, followed by Blizzard, and finish up with an Icicle Crash.

Start off with a Nasty Plot as it Tails Glow; two can play at this boosting game! Pray that Blizzard misses and retaliate with a powerful Flamethrower! Finally, Protect yourself against Icicle Crash.

TravelLog decides to begin with a Syclar named Loki, while Limewire sends out a Togetic named ... kax dollar sign star? Um ... I think I'll just call it Dollar Sign.

The round begins with both pokemon boosting their mental capabilities. Loki does this by making his Tail Glow while Dollar Sign comes up with a Nasty Plot to take down her opponent. Suddenly, Loki starts a Blizzard that blows snow across the entire arena, nearly freezing Dollar Sign and making my cloud very unhappy! But then Dollar Sign breathes fire on Loki like a Flamethrower, burning his right claw in the process! It also melted a lot of the snow, making the track damp in some places. Annoyed, Loki makes a huge Icicle ready to Crash down on Dollar Sign, but the Togetic is able to Protect herself from the attack. The icicle smashes upon hitting the protective barrier and a chunk of it nearly takes my head off!

Meanwhile, Limewire and TravelLog have just both picked up some items! Limewire gets a mushroom while TravelLog is lucky enough to get a star.

Oooof, that stung.

Alright kax dollarsign tar, there really isn't much to do except to spam SE attacks at Syclar. However, if that frozen ant tries to use Blizzard, then use Protect for that action instead (but only once!) I'll be using my Mushroom on the move on the first action.

AncientPower (+Mushroom) ~ Flamethrower ~ AncientPower

Sub Protect in if faced with Blizzard, but only one time for this round.

Begin round 2. Loki summons another Blizzard, which is really starting to piss my cloud off. Dollar Sign tries to Protect herself from it and even uses the mushroom to speed up the process, but she just can't seem to keep the barrier up this time and is buffeted by the snow. Not satisfied, Loki then creates a third Blizzard! He also uses up the star just before being hit by Dollar Sign's Flamethrower. I'm sticking fairly close to the flames so my cloud can warm up after those blizzards. Suddenly, Loki jumps from side to side so quickly that it looks like there's five of him! Never mind Doubling his Team, it looks like TravelLog's pokemon is quintupling it! Dollar Sign calls upon an Ancient Power to hit the icy ant, but the rocks smash into a fake.

As they continue driving around the track, Limewire picks up another mushroom for his pokemon while TravelLog grabs a green shell.

OK, there has been an issue with an action earlier on in the match. Loki the Syclar was ordered to use Icicle Crash when it does not know this move. It appears that TravelLog meant to give the order for Icicle Spear. Since both moves have the same energy cost, Kax$tar the Togetic is about to be KO'd so any changes to her energy will have no effect and there is no change to Kax$tar or Loki's health, I will not make any changes to the previous rounds.

Alright Clowncrete the Gurdurr, let's smash this thing.

First of all, use Rock Slide to summon boulders from the ground, and smash them into three of the Syclar. If the original one was hit, then quickly use Mach Punch on action 2 before it can do anything. This should hopefully KO (25.88 + 10.50). If not, then use Rock Slide again. Your last action will be to use Drain Punch.

Rock Slide (3 Scylars) ~ Mach Punch / Rock Slide (3 Syclars) ~ Drain Punsh

Let's go down fighting Loki!
I want you to use your blistering speed to deliver a painful Acrobatics followed by an Ice Shard (which is also a priority move and will thus precede Mach Punch!). If you are still alive on the last turn, use another Acrobatics!

And so Dollar Sign is replaced with a Gurdurr named Clowncrete. Loki still has the advantage of speed however and he and his three duplicates cartwheel towards Clowncrete, Acrobatically slashing his chest. Confused, Clowncrete picks up a bunch of rocks and makes a Rock Slide over three of the four Lokis. The real one gets caught up in the rocks and his natural instinct takes over as he clambers over them, trying desperately to avoid taking any damage. However, he has had to abandon his illusion to do this. Suddenly, both pokemon elect to attack quickly rather than strongly. Loki makes a Shard of Ice to throw at Clowncrete while Clowncrete moves his fist so fast that the Mach Punch almost creates a sonic boom! Then Loki performs some more Acrobatics, only this time he slashes Clowncrete across the face. Angered, Clowncrete Punches Loki again only to Drain his vitality. In fact, he drains so much that the icy bug can go on no longer.

Limewire and TravelLog both hit some item boxes this time around, but they don't get anything because they're still holding on to their mushroom and shell.

So it comes down to Clowncrete the Gurdurr against Danse Macabre the Litwick. I like that name for the Litwick. But amazingly, Clowncrete is faster than the candle. The only thing is, he wanted to give Payback to Danse Macabre, but since Danse hasn't done anything yet, there's not much to give payback for. Then the flame on top of Danse shoots a stray ember that floats like a Will-o-Wisp straight into Clowncrete's chest. But this only serves to make it angrier and stronger. Immediately Clowncrete picks up more rocks to make an extra strong Rock Slide right above Danse. Suddenly, the flame on top of Danse turns red and emits a Wave of Heat that knocks his shell straight into Clowncrete's head. Clowncrete feels the pain as he makes a second Rock Slide over the candle, this one being considerably faster as he uses up his mushroom. Danse then melts into a pool of wax as he constructs some Armor from Acid, hopefully protecting him somewhat from any further rock slides.

Limewire gets lucky as he picks a bob-omb up from the item box he hits, while TravelLog only gets a mushroom. With all these mushrooms I'm surprised at the lack of badgers.

Limewire, your orders please.

I shouldn't have taken damage from the last Rock Slide, as Acid Armor negates physical attacks used on me the action it is used. My HP should therefore be at 54.

Acid Armor: The Pokemon melts into a body of water, increasing its defense two (2) stages and dodging physical attacks the action it is used. While all Pokemon with Acid Armor can melt into water (even Slugma and Magcargo), any substance similar to their original body structure can also be used.

Attack Power: -- | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 6 | Effect Chance: -- | Typing: Poison

I asked on IRC. Speed is always a factor with any means of dodging. Slower mons can never dodge faster mons. I did read Acid Armor's description.

EDIT: The above is not strictly true. Protect and Detect are guaranteed means of dodging an attack not named Feint.

Yeeeeah!

Bulk Up ~ Rock Slide (+Bomb-Omb) ~ Payback

If Litwick attempts to use either Confuse Ray or Calm Mind on the first round, use Payback instead (I hope this isn't going overboard with the sub actions).

You can only sub for one specific action, so I'm gonna consider it invalid. Use Confuse Ray on the first action (if his sub is considered valid, then use Acid Armor BEFORE his rock slide so that you can actually not be hit this time, with the bomb still damaging him). From there, I want you to reform and use Fire Spin+Mushroom, preventing him from using Payback (as a physical move, he remains trapped in the flames!), then use Calm Mind to give yourself a boost

I'm afraid Limewire's substitution is invalid. Pretty much any substitution with an "or" in it is invalid. After some asking on irc, it appears that because the substitution may or may not have taken effect, the result is that the pokemon fails to do anything.

This round begins with Clowncrete trying to make sense of his trainer's orders. While he's stumped, Danse Macabre shines a bright Ray of light to Confuse Clowncrete even further. Clowncrete somehow manages not to lose his mind and makes another Rock Slide over Danse, but he slips a bob-omb in with the rocks, causing a massive explosion! Danse responds by launching a stream of fire at him. But this stream wraps itself around Clowncrete and the Fire Spins around him, putting a barrier between him and his target. Despite all this, Clowncrete still keeps a grip on his sanity and rushes through the fire and flames to give Danse some Payback, and unfortunately for TravelLog, the poor Litwick just can't hang in there. Limewire has won the match!
