Introduction

Hiya, welcome to my 3rd RMT - Chaotic Distortion - this time, in the Ubers tier.
As the title says, I peaked at #13 on the Smogon server. Top 5 were the same person though, so I guess you can call it an unofficial #9.
The team is pretty much around Mewtwo, as you can see in the Team Building - he's the only Pokemon I did not change.
#13 Peak is very nice, but the team isn't strong enough to keep going up, so I'm very open to suggestions.
Oh yeah, sorry no cards this time ^_^.

This was the first stage of the team. You're all probably laughing right now, although it was surprisingly good. Using the team to weaken Opponent's pokes and then land hard damage with Qwilly and Mew2 was cool stuff. Yet, I decided I needed something more reliable to deal Groudon with.

So Giratina-o replaced Qwilly because I decided that Mewtwo is my primary Pokemon to sweep with. Arceus-Grass replaced -Ghost because now when Giratina-o is in the team I don't need another Ghost- Pokemon. Plus, Arceus-Grass rapes Groudon. :3

Now by this stage the team started to shine, after some big changes; Giratina-o has become in the lead Position, Palkia swapped Kyogre so I will be even less weak to opposing Kyogre, Heatran replaced Dialga for another pure Dragon resistance and Forretress replaced Ferrothorn due to his ability to Rapid Spin away opponent's hazards and to set-up Toxic Spikes.

I had no Physical attacker at all (well, if you count Forretress), so I switched Zekrom with Palkia - who does just about the same job, only that it can Scout with Volt Switch.
And that's it.

griseous-orb.png

~ Giratina-o @ Griseous Orb
  • Nature; Lonely (+Attack, -Defense)
  • Ability; Levitate
  • EVs; 248 Attack/252 Special Attack/8 Speed
  • Moveset;
    • DragonType.png
      Dragon Tail
    • GhostType.png
      Shadow Sneak
    • DragonType.png
      Draco Meteor
    • NormalType.png
      Hiden Power (Fire)
.....
Giratina-o is so good. Using Draco Meteor + Shadow Sneak to beat other leads is just pure BEAST. Dragon Tail for phazing and such. Giratina-o is obviously my Spinblocker.
In conclusion - Giratina-o is a GREAT Pokemon. Do I need to say anything else?

.....
EVs and Nature
  • Lonely Nature for max Attack, without lowering the Special Attack.
  • 248 Attack and 252 Special Attack EVs maximize Giratina-o's Offensive capabilities.
  • 8 Speed lets me outspeed 0 Speed base 90s like Groudon, Dialga, Giratina-a, Kyogre and Deoxys-D.
.....
Considerable Changes

- None.

150.gif
life-orb.png

~ Mewtwo @ Life Orb
  • Nature; Timid (+Speed, -Attack)
  • Ability; Pressure
  • EVs; 4 Defense/252 Special Attack/252 Speed
  • Moveset;
    • PsychicType.png
      Calm Mind
    • PsychicType.png
      Psytrike
    • FightingType.png
      Aura Sphere
    • IceType.png
      Ice Beam
.....
Mewtwo is a total monster. His moveset lets him hit both Defensive Pokemon and Specially Defensive Pokemon due to Psytrike land damage depending on the Pokemon's Defense, and not Special Defense. While most Mewtwos run Calm Mind > Recover, I picked Recover so Mewtwo could stay alive longer. It has been very effective for me. Changed Recover to Calm Mind to have greater offensive capabilities. Ice Beam and Aura Sphere are there for coverage.

.....
EVs and Nature
  • Timid Nature maximizes my Speed stat without loweing my Special Attack.
  • 252 Special Attack allows me to hit as hard as I can.
  • 252 Speed for maximum Speed.
  • 4 Defense is a filler.
.....
Considerable Changes

- Well, when Palkia was on the team, I had Thunder over Ice Beam. Worth changing back?
..........

639.gif
choice-scarf.png

~ Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
  • Nature; Jolly (+Speed, -Special Attack)
  • Ability; Justified
  • EVs; 4 Special Defense/252 Attack/252 Speed
  • Moveset;
    • RockType.png
      Stone Edge
    • ElectricType.png
      Close Combat
    • BugType.png
      X-Scissor
    • GroundType.png
      Earthquake
.....
I replaced Zekrom with Terrakion like shrang and trickroom suggested because it pretty much covers all of my threats, and it does a great job, owning Rayquaza, ExtremeKiller Arceus and Reshiram. A beast.

.....
EVs and Nature
  • Jolly Nature maximizes my Speed without lowering Attack.
  • 252 Attack for maximum Attack.
  • 252 Speed with Jolly Nature lets me outspeed as much as I can.
  • 4 Special Defense is clearly a filler.
.....
Considerable Changes

- None.
..........

485.gif
leftovers.png

~ Heatran @ Leftovers
  • Nature; Calm (+Special Defense, -Attack)
  • Ability; Flash Fire
  • EVs; 252 HP/128 Special Defense/128 Speed
  • Moveset;
    • RockType.png
      Stealth Rock
    • NormalType.png
      Roar
    • FireType.png
      Lava Plume
    • DragonType.png
      Dragon Pulse
.....
BOSSTran. Heatran is a great Pokemon in Ubers, countering many Uber Tier Pokemon. Heatran's Special Bulk means it is capable of taking Special hits which is quite great in Ubers. 4x Ground-Weakness SUCKS, but covered by Arceus-Grass and Gira-o.

.....
EVs and Nature
  • Calm Nature for higher Special Defense.
  • 252 HP maximizing HP, and as a result maximizing Bulk.
  • 128 Speed allows Heatran to outspeed 0 Speed EVs base 90s.
  • 128 Special Defense is quite a filler, but boosts Heatran's Special Defense.
.....
Considerable Changes

None.

205.gif
leftovers.png

~ Forretress @ Leftovers
  • Nature; Sassy (+Special Defense, -Speed)
  • Ability; Sturdy
  • EVs; 252 HP/252 Special Defense/4 Defense (0 Speed IVs)
  • Moveset;
    • GroundType.png
      Spikes
    • PoisonType.png
      Toxic Spikes
    • NormalType.png
      Rapid Spin
    • SteelType.png
      Gyro Ball
.....
Good ol' Forre. Forretress provides me Toxic Spikes and Spikes support, which are somewhat essential to me. Rapid Spin support is always good especially to this team because it HATES Toxic Spikes which can also cripple down Mewtwo, Spikes can be handled, they're not as hurting as Toxic Spikes. Gyro Ball is obvious, pretty much like the entire set.
.....
EVs and Nature
  • Sassy Nature for higher Special Defense.
  • 252 HP and 252 Special Defense along with Sassy Nature give me maximum Special Defense.
  • 4 Defense is a filler.
.....
Considerable Changes

- Gyro Ball < Payback ?
..........

493-grass.gif
meadow-plate.png

~ Arceus-Grass @ Meadow Plate
  • Nature; Timid (+Speed, -Attack)
  • Ability; Multitype
  • EVs; 252 HP/144 Def/112 Speed
  • Moveset;
    • NormalType.png
      Recover
    • PsychicType.png
      Calm Mind
    • GrassType.png
      Grass Knot
    • IceType.png
      Ice Beam
.....
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Arceus-Grass is a great support to the team as it handles with Non-Scarfed Kyogres (well, most of the time), Groudon and MixQuaza. Recover for healing and combined with Calm Mind, I have a better chance to beat Kyogre, and possibly sweep. Grass Knot is there for the STAB and Ice Beam for the other coverage.

.....
EVs and Nature
  • Timid Nature and 112 Speed lets me outspeed 252 Speed EVs +Speed Nature base 95s like Rayquaza.
  • 252 HP maximizes bulk.
  • 144 Defensek is a filler, while also boosting Arceus' Defense to take hits better.
.....
Considerable Changes

None.

- Threats

493.gif

- ExtremeKiller Arceus
Argh fuck this. My own Arceus is the only thing that can take him by Burning it. Missing Will-O-Wisp is gay, and if Arceus-Grass is down and it has ExtremeSpeed/Brick Break - which most of the ExtremeKillers run - I'm GGed.
Basically, anything with strong Priority OWNS me.

With Terrakion > Zekrom I have this covered.

384.gif

- SDQuaza/DDQuaza
SDQuaza can be handled by Arceus-Grass who takes 53.38% - 62.84% from +2 Adamant LO Quaza's ExtremeSpeed. DDQuaza is quite hard to handle, but as long as it doesn't have Overheat - Arceus-Grass is a nice check, but it has 58.97% of being OHKO'd by +1 Jolly LO Quaza's Outrage. Quite a threat.

With Terrakion > Zekrom I have this covered.

493-steel.gif

- CM Roar Arceus-Steel
Will-O-Wisp Arceus-Steel can be played around by Heatran, but still very tricky to handle. The CM Roar set is especially hard to handle because it outruns my own Heatran and can Roar me out before I can.

With Terrakion > Zekrom I have this covered.

643.gif

- Flame Charge Reshiram/Scarf Reshiram
Scarfed Reshiram is less of a threat than the Flame Charger, as it can be easily played around. Reshiram being able to have a perfect coverage with its ability, Turboblaze and both of its STABs makes it a HUGE threat in Ubers. My best way to deal with these are hoping for a speed-tie with Zekrom and Heatran.

With Terrakion > Zekrom I have this covered.

530.gif

- Sand Rush Excadrill
Not a huge threat, however not heaving a Weather Changer does hurt. Arceus-Grass again, is my best thing to it, and it counters it quite well with Will-O-Wisp and Grass Knot.

642.gif

- Thundurus
Not a huge threat, but Prankster and Thunder Wave can hurt. Giratina-O makes a nice answer to Thundurus, being able to Draco Meteor + Shadow Sneak it away. Mewtwo also serves has a good answer hitting with a Super-effective Life Orb boosted Ice Beam, yet as I mentioned, Thunder Wave can hurt.

With Terrakion > Zekrom I have this covered.

Just wondering but wouldn't Judgement be better to use over Grass Knot for consistent damage. I know in ubers everything usually takes full damage from Grass Knot but still something to consider.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I picked Grass Knot because most of the Uber Tier Pokemon are over 100.1kg, like the Analysis says;
One of the biggest questions when using Grass Arceus is whether to use Grass Knot or Judgment. It must be noted that after a Pokemon reaches 100.1 kg, Grass Knot becomes the better choice because of greater PP and potential for higher damage. Since most of the Pokemon commonly seen in the Uber tier are over 100 kg, Grass Knot is usually a better choice than Judgment.

Not a bad team, you have most threats covered.

One change that could potential solve a few of your problems would be to change Choice Scarf Zekrom to Choice Scarf Terakion. With it, you can take out ExtremeKiller Arceus, Steel Arceus and Rayquaza that have taken some prior damage (Ray dies to Stone Edge without) a lot better.

I don't really see how Magic Coat is helping that much on Giratina-O. I mean, Deoxys-S and Forretress lose to you regardless (Deoxys-S is rare these days and is beaten handily by 2 Shadow Sneaks, while Forretress gets killed by HP Fire). I would just suggest Dragon Tail over it, since you're abusing the hell out of entry hazards anyway.

Other than that, this team doesn't seem to have any major weaknesses, although Stall may cause you some trouble (especially the Spikes + phaze abuse ones). Maybe replace Stealth Rock with Taunt on Heatran and put Stealth Rock on Forretress instead?

Good luck with your team.

Thanks, shrang!

However, I don't really understand what to replace Stealth Rock with. Most logical option is Toxic Spikes, but I just want to make sure.

I will test these changes right away and add them to the OP.

It's a weird team with Heatran but no Groudon! This will leave you at a disadvantage, especially when the opponent has a Kyogre. Without sun, Heatran will easily fall to Palkia.

Recover offensive Mewtwo generally doesn't work that well because you are giving a free turn for Scarf users to defeat you. Things like Scarf Kyogre or Zekrom can come in on the turn you Recover. I think you should exchange Recover for Calm Mind. With Calm Mind you sweep much better and less vulnerable to revenge kills from the likes of Palkia or Dialga. You won't suffer against stall either because Calm Mind gives you the ability to bash through weaken stall teams. Without Calm Mind, Mewtwo struggles to muscle pass Arceus or Lugia even with Ice Beam.

I suggest you change the nature of your Zekrom to Naive. Reason is Choice Scarf Zekrom likes to be able to survive Extremespeed from the likes of Rayquaza and Arceus better.

I am not sure about your Heatran but it gives your team a Ho-Oh check which is good. Payback sucks on Forretress now unless you want to defeat Sub Calm Mind Giratina-O which your team doesn't need that hard.

One threat to your team is Dragon Dance Rayquaza. You should try a bulkier Arceus variant but putting in your current Special Attack EVs into Defense to survive a +1 Outrage better. Other than Arceus, your team lacks something to defeat a Dragon Dance boosted Rayquaza. If you use Terrakion over Zekrom you can check both Dragon Dance and Swords Dance Rayquaza, which is an advantage but you lose a Kyogre check.

Calm Mind Kyogre can give your team some issues since your Arceus lacks Calm Mind while a +1 Ice Beam will 2HKO you. Calm Mind RestTalk Kyogre has a slight chance to sweep if your Arceus comes into Kyogre since Grass Knot does around 55% to a +1 Kyogre. That allows Kyogre to set up another Calm Mind and Rest off before you can finish it off. The only way to solve this is play smart and weaken Kyogre to the point where Arceus can easily eliminate it or use Calm Mind Grass Arceus but you won't like losing Will-O-Wisps. With Terrakion you can stop Extremekiller Arceus already though.

Magic Coat is rather iffy in my opinion. You can remove it for Dragon Tail on Giratina-O. With Dragon Tail you can easily defeat Calm Mind mono attacking Kyogre and phaze out Groudon easily.

Thank you shrang and trickroom.

I am going to try and combine all of your suggestions after testing;

a) as shrang suggested - Zekrom < Terrakion, Taunt Tran, SR Forre and DTail Gira-o.

b) as trickroom suggested - DTail Gira-o, Support Groudon, Taunt Tran, Forre, CM Arceus-G and I will add Terrakion here too.

I honestly already played with shrang's suggestions already added and the team worked great, I will go ahead and test trickroom's suggestions.

Again, thank you very much. :3
