BATTLE ON!

Arena:

Old Bomb Factory
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Restrictions: No water source.

Description:

A dilapidated, old factory that used to make bombs for some war. No one ended up using the bombs, so they were instead piled floor-to-ceiling and left to rot. They are very old, fragile, and most importantly, active. Unfortunately, our competitors will be battling in a small, cleared-out area of the factory surrounded by these bombs. Any missed physical attacks have a 75% chance of striking a bomb, causing it to explode and doing 10 damage to the attacker. Any missed special attacks have a 75% chance to explode 2-5 bombs behind the opposing team for 2 damage apiece on both opposing Pokemon. Any missed status moves have a 50% chance of defusing all the bombs behind the opponent's team for the rest of the battle. Any multi-target moves like Rock Slide, Earthquake, and Blizzard have a 33% chance of setting off all the bombs in the Factory, doing 30 damage to all Pokemon on the field, even Flying/Levitating Pokemon (in the case of Earthquake).

Other than that, the roof has mostly collapsed over the years, so sky-based attacks like Moonlight, Thunderbolt, and Sky Drop can still be used to their full potential. There is no nearby water source, though, so Surf is not an option. The four walls of the factory are far away, meaning the only horizontal impediments will be the walls of bombs surrounding the battlefield. Don't sprint or get thrown too fast in any direction, or you may hit a bomb (ref's discretion)!

Abilities:
Levitate: (Innate) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading Ground moves like Earthquake, Bulldoze, and Magnitude. Other Ground moves can still hit.
Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).
Mold Breaker (DW): (Innate) Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Type:
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Pickup: This Pokemon has a natural habit of collecting items. Whenever a hold item (its own or an opponents) is used or knocked onto the ground with a move like Knock Off, this Pokemon will immediately pick up that item without using an action. It can also grab dropped or naturally occuring hold items in arenas.
Thick Fat: This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)
Gluttony (DW): This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat).

Maxim sends out Pokemon + ability --> undisputed sends out Pokemon + ability + Actions --> Maxim issues Actions --> Korski refs

GL, you two.

As Maxim approached the dusty, abandoned factory, he was trying to brace himself for the battle ahead.

Maxim: Well, we're here, about to face my former tutor for competitive battling and good friend.

Origin: I'm not too sure I like this place, if we cause too much of a disturbance, all these bombs will crash down on us and kill us all...

Kimli: (I wonder if they're tasty, I hope they taste like chocolate.)

Maxim recalled both his pokemon and as undisputed approached, he threw out a pokeball containing his Rebble trained to be a master of weaker, technician-based moves.

Maxim: Let's do this!

DQ time for undisputed looks to be a mere 4 hours away. Maxim, you can call DQ if you'd like once that time is up or try and get a hold of him or wait or whatever you want.

Bumping for now.

undisputed finally arrives at the arena, a bit late, but then again better late than never. he dawns a smirk at the thought of facing his old tutee. piercing the silent warehouse he sends out dratini and gastly each using their non dw ability. tim waits on the sidelines while pablo gruffly lumbers out to meet the rock waiting across the arena.

pablo doesnt look phazed by maxim's rock and fat lazy looking thing. tim lincecum who hasnt been pitching so well lately, on the other hand, looks menacingly at the munchlax and rebble looking to ko them and add more strike outs his resume.

pablo, start off the match and thrash rebble with an ice beam! then, i want you to use extreme speed and avoid further damage! finish off the round by delivering rebble another nasty ice beam! hopefully rebble likes being cold!

Just a heads up before Maxim issues Actions, undisputed, but this is a Singles match, so you will only be releasing 1 Poke.

lol.

Maxim: Ok Origin, let's show that dragon who's boss.

Origin: He is sir, but aren't I already supposed to be a Boulderdash.....

Maxim: This is a flashback remember?

Origin: Oh yeah.

Maxim: Anyway, let's start off with a nice Paleo Wave to kick things off, then use Acupressure since you can't really do anything while he's extremespeeding, then finish off with another Paleo Wave.

Paleo Wave~Acupressure~Paleo Wave

--------------------

Oh, crap, we wandered into the Old Bomb Factory again and are being mentally compulsed by the NORSE GODS OF WAR to conduct a brutal and severe Pokemon battle in the small clearing in the center against our will! I think I'll just watch then.

But look! Maxim and undisputed can't shake the influence of the gods and release two Pokemon, Origin the Rebble and Pablo Sandoval the Dratini, to in every way try and clobber each other to the point of unconsciousness!

Origin zips around the space to start the battle and hits Pablo with a Paleo Wave that pushes it back toward a wall of bombs! It manages to find its footing just in time to shoot an Ice Beam at its opponent before being slammed back into a wall of bombs by Pablo's reckless Extremespeed that very nearly sets off a string of bombs! Careful, guys! Origin needs to calm down and get its head in the game, so it quickly uses Acupressure to raise its Defense so that it won't be pushed around so easily. Feeling bolstered by the stat boost, Origin goes back on the offensive with a second Paleo Wave that is returned immediately with a second Ice Beam from Pablo! After some exciting action, the match looks pretty close to dead even, which is exciting!

--------------------

Action 1:

Origin: Paleo Wave (15 damage, -6 energy, crit fails, Atk drop fails)
Pablo:Ice Beam (12 damage, -7 energy, crit fails, freeze fails)

Action 2:

Pablo: Extremespeed (6 damage, -6 energy, crit fails)
Origin: Acupressure (-6 energy, +2 Defense)

Action 3:

Origin: Paleo Wave (15 damage, -6 energy, crit fails, Atk drop fails)
Pablo: Ice Beam (12 damage, -7 energy, crit fails, freeze fails)

Maxim: Careful Origin, those bombs look menacing.

Origin: No worries! He's come closer to setting them off than I have.

Maxim: Hmmmmmm, maybe we can use them to our advantage. I have an idea.

Origin: Oh no.....

Maxim: -_-

Maxim: I want you to start by using Disable (Extremespeed) to prevent escape, then use Earth Power and use the ground to push Dratini very close to the bombs, then i want you to finish with Flamethrower to set off all the bombs next to Dratini. We don't want a uneffective hit though, so if Dratini finds a way to escape, use Paleo Wave on Dratini instead.

Origin: Are you crazy, that might set off all the bombs in the entire building!

Maxim: Well, over in the distance I see a set of bombs that is separate from the others, try to aim for that.

Summary:
Disable (Extremespeed)~Earth Power (push Dratini close to bombs)~Flamethrower (set off bombs near Dratini)
If Dratini still manages to escape, use Paleo Wave instead of Flamethower

Edit: Quick question, does Disable count as a status move (as in if it misses it might/will defuse the bombs?)

lets go pablo youre not going to get beaten by a rock are you?

start this thing off with a dragon pulse for a free attack on origin! thank him for the chance to get nice damage for nothing

then i want you to use wrap on origin to bring him with you as earthpower pushes you closer to the bombs. hold on tight until you're close enough that he's winding up a flamethrower!

then, as hes about to set off the bombs on you, use agility to disappear and leave origin confused but without enough time to enjoy a nice explosion!

lets get it

The trainers are getting dangerous here in the Bomb Factory and don't seem to care at all that these bombs can go off at any moment! Origin, at least, has the right idea and Disables Pablo's Extremespeed so that it won't go zooming off in any crazy directions for a while, while Pablo takes the opening to slam Origin with a Dragon Pulse! Origin responds with an Earth Power that opens the ground and pushes Pablo back against a wall of bombs! Pablo realizes he's in a vulnerable place right now and feels fortunate that it didn't set off any bombs. Trying not to play Origin's distance game, it bounds forward back into the safety of the clearing and Wraps Origin up close, squeezing the life out it! Origin tries to get Pablo away with a Flamethrower attack that doesn't faze Pablo much at all, and Pablo takes the time to go for a quick Agility to give itself some more speed, unraveling Origin with such force that it spins out of control to the opposite edge of the clearing, dangerously close to the bombs now, itself! How can Pablo capitalize on this turn of events?

-------------------

Action 1:

Origin: Disable [Extremespeed] (-6 energy, Pablo's Extremespeed Disabled for 6 Actions)
Pablo: Dragon Pulse (14 damage, -6 energy, crit fails)

Action 2:

Origin: Earth Power (15 damage, -6 energy, crit fails, SpD drop fails)
Pablo: Wrap (1 damage, -3 energy, crit fails, Origin wrapped up for 4 Actions)

End of Action: Wrap (Origin -2 HP)

Action 3:

Origin: Paleo Wave (15 damage, -6 energy, crit fails, Atk drop fails)
Pablo: Agility (-7 energy, +2 Spe, Origin released from Wrap, Origin pushed against wall of bombs)

Sorry long day today and this completely slipped my mind. Im on my iPod and I'll just summarize what I'm gonna do and the add flavor tomorrow.

Dratini, use flamethrower with your boosted speed to blow up the bombs near the rock pokemon. However, if origin even so much as thinks about protecting itself, i want you to leer at him and make him think protecting wouldnt be very popular and that he shouldnt do it. Yeah peer pressure! Then I want you to deliver a couple dragon pulses until you finish him off!

Rebble: We've got him on the run now!

Maxim: Hold on, you seem to be pretty close to those bombs.

Rebble: no worries, I'll just protect

Maxim: meh, I have a bad feeling about that command of his to leer. So what we'll do instead is use a command, move away from bombs. then continue the assault with Metal Sound, then finish with a strong Paleo Wave. If you happen to already be away from any bombs (i.e. if undisputed's plan to use the bombs against me fails), use a Paleo Wave instead.

Summary:
Command (Move away from bombs)~Metal Sound~Paleo Wave
If undisputed's plan to blow rebble up with bombs fails for some reason, use Paleo Wave instead of the command.

Origin's pretty close to those bombs and sees Pablo gearing up for an attack, so it quickly moves away from the bombs right as Pablo fires off a Flamethrower, causing the attack to miss! The Flamethrower attack hits the wall of bombs straight on, but only manages to cause two of them to explode, doing damage to Origin in the process! Origin, having just scraped by a disaster, pulses outward a screeching Metal Sound that Pablo answers with a Dragon Pulse! Origin, back on offense, hits Pablo with a huge Paleo Wave that lowers its Attack somehow! Unconcerned, Pablo hits back with a second Dragon Pulse, leaving both Pokemon very close to fainting! Who will draw first blood?

-------------------

Action 1:

Origin: Command [move away from bombs a.k.a. dodge] (-5 energy)
Pablo: Flamethrower (miss, -7 energy, explodes 2 bombs behind Origin for 4 damage)

Anyway, Paleo Wave until he dies, and if he uses extremespeed, use Protect (but not in succession)

Summary:
Paleo Wave x3
If extremespeed is used, use Protect unless it uses it twice in a row.

Well, pablo, just use extremespeed until rebble dies. not much more to say... So, extremespeed x3 and then well be done with that dum rok. im assuming the round ends after rebble suffers defeat?

also how do moves like will o wisp and twave work in asb? im too lazy to go look lol
