Send one pokemon to the ref

lyFnL.jpg

(Pretend that the center is bigger.)

6 platforms above goo. The goo will transform into anything the pokemon need, so there is no worry about restricted moves. Each pokemon is on a different platform, and the platform they are on will switch each time. When on a platform the pokemon can only hit pokemon on the platform next to it, or opposite of it. For example, a pokemon on platform #1 would only be able to hit pokemon on platforms 2, 4, and 6. What these means is a pokemon on a even numbered platform cannot hit a pokemon on another even number platform. Also note that certain moves would obviously fail, such as Earthquake or Dig.

I want to highly encourage stuff like alliances and teaming up on people. It creates many interesting situations, and adds mind games to an already interesting melee. Using the platform position to determine targets and allies can be wise, but be careful about being back stabbed. However, in the end only one pokemon can win. Due to the nature of this battle, all actions will be PMed to the ref.

Also, since this is a large battle, I would want the participants and the ref to be active, so that the battle can go faster, and people can communicate to decided alliances.

Ok, guys now that I have all of your Pokemon we can finally get started. Here are everyone's Pokemon:

Description:

The second of G's starters, Electra is the most cautious of the group. She doesn't like to fight unless she knows everything she can about her opponents, and even then tries to avoid being hit. Even after evolution, this trait has stayed with her, although she has learned to take more risks. When not battling, Electra usually keeps to herself, socializing very little. She does seem to have taken a liking to Carlos, though.

Anyways, as you should know if you read the rules, you will all be on a circle, and you can only attack the Pokemon next to you or across from you, based on the picture above. The platform you are on is random and will switch each round. And for round one, the positions will be as follows:
1: Fire Blast
2: Galladiator
3: Maxim
4: Gerard
5: Lady Salamence
6: Mr.L

So, now that you know what is going on, lets us begin. Everybody PM me your actions, and when I get them all I will ref, post, and re-randomize positions.

Heh, I forgot about items.

Maxim also said in his PM that he would be equipping Leftovers.

Anybody else who wants an item can post it here.

Round 1:

The battle starts off as Kitsunoh Taunts Metagross, infuriating the big metal… thing. Salamence decides to be the first to attack as he chomps down on Lucario with a Fire Fang. Lucario does not seem to care though, and Jumps High across the circle and Kicks Snorlax. Metagross is also focusing on Snorlax and pounds it with a Hammer Arm. Snorlax seems more hurt by Lucario though, and looks for revenge by Countering the hit it took for massive damage. Finally, Jolteon shows why she was not the first to move, as she unleashes a ThunderShock + Thunder Combo on Salamence which not only hurt, but also inflicted 20% paralysis.

Jolteon is just cooling down from that combo. Meanwhile, Kitsunoh continues to pick on Metagross, as it fires some Will-O-Wisps out at it, inflicting a nasty burn. Lucario continues attacking Snorlax, this time with the Force of its Palm. And Metagross once again joins in, hitting Snorlax with a Meteor Mash. Salamence, although slower now repeats its first action and bits with another Fire Fang on Lucario. But unlike last action, Snorlax goes for Metagross with a scorching Flamethrower, and it must have fryed somthing important, because it was a Critical Hit.

And then, once every Pokémon is back to their original platform, the platforms start to shuffle. Where will everyone end up now?

Round 2:

Jolteon starts off this second round with another crackling Thunder, this time targeted at Kitsunoh. But Kitsunoh pays her no mind and goes over and Meteor Mashes Snorlax. Lucario looks busy setting up for a combo, so Metagross uses its Hidden Power to do some damage to it. Meanwhile, Salamence is minding his own business and sets up a Substitute of 15 HP. And, just before Lucario can release it’s powerful combo, Snorlax Brick Breaks him, knocking Lucario out.

With one Pokémon down, the other pick out new foes to attack. Well, mostly. Salamence would just prefer to be left alone and Protects himself. Jolteon fires a Shadow Ball at Metagross, that not only did decent damage, but also lowered its Special Defence. Kitsunoh tries to Ice Fang Salamence, but it protected itself. Metagross aims its next Hidden Power at Kitsunoh, and Snorlax finishes off round two with a Flamethrower at Metagross.

As the round ends, Lucario’s platform floats away and the others scramble once more.

Round 3:

Jolteon, shows its speed again, going first and using its Hidden Power to break Salamences Substitute.Kitsunoh comes dashing in right after and bits down hard on Salamence with an Ice Fang. Salamence, though, seems mare annoyed at Jolteon and swipes at it with a Dragon Claw. Meanwhile, Snorlax does something new and different. It attacks Jolteon, using a Flamethrower to do some decent damage. And then…. BOOM! Metagross focuses its fiery Hidden Power and combines it with a massive Explosion, doing great damage to both Salamence and Snorlax. Both however, manage to hang in there, at least for now.

But Jolteon and Kitsunoh do not thing that they should still be around, and both go for Salamence. Jolteon’s Thunder strikes first, zapping the dragon out of the sky, KOing it, and leaving Kitsunoh’s Ice Fang without a target. Snorlax though, is still gunning for Jolteon, and hits it with an Ice Beam.

With only 3 Pokémon remaining, the platforms shift again, and this time, Kitsunoh finds itself in a not so favorable position. How will this battle end?

Round 3:

Well, Jolteon starts off the round by dropping some Thunder down on Kitsunoh. Snorlax follows up this by scorching him with a Flamethrower. But Kitsunoh certainly had a plan, and gets his Revenge by knocking out Snorlax.

Jolteon continues her electrical assault with another Thunder. But with Snorlax out of the picture, Kitsunoh now turns on Jolteon, and swipes at her with a ShadowStrike, which did good damage and also lowered Jolteon’s Defense.

With only two Pokémon remaining, how will this battle finish?

Jolteon – Thunder [Kitsunoh] (12+3+[4-3]*1.5 = 16.5 -> 16 Damage, 7 Energy)
Snorlax – Flamethrower [Kitsunoh] ((10+[4-3]*1.5)*1.5 = 17.25 -> 17 Damage, 7 Energy)
Kitsunoh – Revenge [Snorlax] ((12+[5-3]*1.5)*1.5 = 22.5 -> 23 Damage, 8 Energy, KO)
Kitsunoh restores health with Leftovers (+1 HP)

Action 2:

Jolteon – Thunder [Kitsunoh] (12+3+[4-3]*1.5 = 16.5 -> 16 Damage, 11 Energy)
Kitsunoh – ShadowStrike (8+3+[5-2]*1.5) = 15.5 -> 16 Damage, 5 Energy, -1 Def)
Kitsunoh restores health with Leftovers (+1 HP)

Jolteon and Kitsunoh are across from each other. No need for a picture for that.

Oh... wait.... Maxim is right... Umm... well I guess I will go back and change that, as this changes a lot.

Good catch (I feel stupid)

EDIT: Well, I changed the previous round, and Maxim is still alive. Though now I feel bad because Blast asked how I would ref Earthquake, and I answered not realizing the arena restrictions. I guess as the one who chose the arena he should have known, but I still kinda feel like I hurt his chances now...

Can we *please* reorder? And tbh, those moes I listed were just examples. It was truly up to ref discretion, so Earthquake wasn't strictly banned from the arena. If jas thinks Earhtquake would work, then it would work.

Ok, in the interest of being fair (cause to be honest, losing 2 actions and over 30 energy because of something that is partially my fault just isn't fair), I think a redo of the previous round would be the most fair thing. While it might change things strategically, at the very least eliminates the worst of the mistakes.

I just would like to apologize again for this, and unless anyone has strong objections, then lets redo round 3.

Though, for future reference, if it is mentioned in the description, then I will take it as fact.

No, that was the previous round. Nothing is changing there. Maxim, Galladiator and Fire Blast are the only one this greatly effects. Though, for the other people waiting for this to finish for rewards and stuff, I apologize to you too and will try to get reffing done as quickly as possible.

Round 4:

It looks like this battle is winding down. But it’s not quite over yet. And Kitsunoh, despite being down on health, still feels that victory is within his grasp. As such, he starts the round by Faking Out Jolteon, causing her to flinch.

But Joleton isn’t done yet either, and sends out a powerful Thunder. Kit looks a bit frazzled, but he still manages to swipe back at Jolteon with a ShadowStrike, which leaves her hanging on by a thread. Is there anything Jolteon can do to pull this one out now?

Round 5:

Is this battle finally going to end? Kitsunoh thinks so. And while Jolteon tries to dodge with an evasive Agility, the priority of Kistunoh’s Fake Out is just too high, and it hits, knocking Jolteon out and ending the battle.

GG everyone!

I duped you all! I never really allyed with anyone, I just partnered up so that I could tell them who to attack. My steps to success:

1. I ally with Snorlax and tell him a plan about backstabbing Lucario.
2. I ally with Lucario with the intent of backstabbing him.
3. I manipulate Lucario's actions by telling him to use HJK without a Counter sub.
4. I tell Maxim to Counter. *Both* pokemon take heavy damage.
5. I tell Snorlax not to attack Lucario because Jolteon will.
6. I plan to finish off Snorlax with the help of Lucario, but the plan fails to a bad substitution.
7. I convince Snorlax the reason I betrayed him and the reason Jolteon did not attack Lucario was that Jolteon duped me. (hehe framing him)
8. I got into a disadvantaged position my being in the middle of Snorlax and Jolteon.
9. I planned to use EQ + EQ to kill Snorlax and do heavy damage to Jolteon, but the attack failed.
10. Instead, I kill Snorlax and hit Jolteon while taking heavy damage from both of them.
11. I finish off Jolteon with my secret weapon, Fake Out.

Overall: Gather allys, and get them to kill each other while leaving you untouched.

I hope you all don't hate me now :/

You know, I had way more info then the other combatants, but you're plans even befuddled me. I knew at least half the players thought you were an ally, but I had no idea who you were betraying, and when. Good planning.
