What a clear, concise battle we have in store today! This will sure be a good one! Let's take a closer look at our combatants:

In the red corner, on the side of Albinoloon...
*****
Drifloon (Lofty[M])
Personality: Lofty is quite... arbitrairy in his actions. He will hardly use the same move twice, unless forced into a tricky situation suach as being taunted. Despite his cluelessness, Lofty is actually one of 3 rare Malumaer heteros. Most drifloon are born in their place of origin; the underwold. However, these heteros are born in the overworld through evaporation of a volatile chemicals. Although rare, their lack of their reflective pigment, which normal drifloon recieve, slowly burns their thin bodies. This is the result of their rarity. This particular one sank down to earth as soon as it was born. When Albinoloon was traveling beside a polluted sea to search for an arena, he noticed a tug on a particular doll-shaped keychain on his backpack. As he turned around, he noticed it was this mysetrious drifloon, whom came to be known as Lofty, for the way he seemed to float aimlessly. When training, he realized that Lofty had an extremely vast and photographic memory. Sadly, however, Lofty should not have a long life, because of his genetical ailment. Albinoloon knows this and is currently pondering on a solution to this grim problem. he plans to make Lofty the star pokemon on his team.
Nature: Quiet (+SAtk; Base Spd/1.15; -15% evasion)
Type: Ghost/Flying
Ghost: Ghost STAB; brief intangibility that nullifies Normal and Fighting-type attacks. Can move through walls for a brief period of time but must remain in motion. Superior senses in low light and inside dark buildings. Have no vision reduction in hazes.
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Aftermath: (Innate) If this Pokemon uses Selfdestruct or Explosion, the attack has ten (10) more Base Attack Power and five (5) more Energy Cost to execute.
Unburden: (Innate) This Pokemon is incredibly possessive. If it uses or loses an item in battle its rage swells and its speed doubles (x2) until it receives another item.
Flare Boost (UNLOCKED): (Innate) This Pokemon's Body can harness the heat from a burn into internal energy, fueling its mental capabilities. When Burned, the Pokemon's special attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

Abilities:
Flash Fire (Type: Innate)
This Pokemon thrives in high temperatures, and takes the energy of any opposing fire attack, nullifies the damage, and uses the additional power to boost its own fire attack’s Base Attack Power by two (2). Self-targeted attacks do not give the boost.

Drought (Type: Innate, DW Locked)

This is going to be a good one, I can tell. Here's how we're going to start things off:

-Albinoloon sends out Pokemon, selects Ability
-Box sends out Pokemon, selects Ability, issues actions
-Albinoloon issues actions
-Reffing occurs
-Reverse, rinse, repeat until a victor is declared!

BEGIN!

Yeah, the first battle is always the most important! Good luck to as well, Box!

Sending out Lofty the Drifloon with the newly-acquired Flare Boost ability!

Kyuu the Vulpix jumps over my head to challenge Lofty; her ability is (obviously) Flash Fire

Alright Kyuu, start off with a Confuse Ray to his face, let's make him Lofty in the head! Now that that's done, nail him with Toxic! Lets finish off the round with a powerful Fire Blast; aim dead center!

We best be cautious though, if he uses Rain Dance, we better get back behind a sub!

Confuse Ray - Toxic - Fire Blast

The first time Rain Dance is used, use Substitute (20) and move actions down.

Lofty just floats as he begins to craft a blessed wall; he does not require his trainer's orders.

Magic Coat - Magic Coat - Rain Dance

-Round 1 begin-

Today we have an interesting matchup in the ASB Arena. Neither of these Pokemon have a specific STAB type advantage against the other, and their Special Attack stats are equal. It'll definitely come down to movepools and skill in this battle, so it'll be a good one, guaranteed.

Apparently, Lofty already knows what to do! He sets up a Magic Coat to block incoming status moves, and in doing so, reflects Kyuu's Confuse Ray right back at her! On the bright side, the confusion was only Slight, so Kyuu doesn't have to waste too much time being confused. Lofty did a great job at reflecting that attack, but will the same trick work twice in a row?

I stand corrected, ASB fans! A second Magic Coat from Lofty reflects Kyuu's Toxic, which just happened to bypass her confusion! What a move, ladies and gentlemen! Kyuu will now take gradual damage at increasing intervals throughout the match! This is definitely not a good position for Kyuu to be in, folks.

To finish the round, Kyuu creates a Substitute, to prepare for the incoming rain. Good move from her trainer, but the fact that Kyuu is hiding being the Substitute afflicted with all these status conditions is still rather unsatisfactory. As Lofty baits the Substitute, he summons terrible rains that will ravage the arena for the next four rounds. Looks like Kyuu will have to resort to something other that Fire-type moves for this match.

Lofty emerges from the chaos of the first round unscathed, although missing a great heap of energy. Perhaps Kyuu can turn this bad situation around...? Tune in after the break!

Kyuu Substitute (20) 18 energy successful, Kyuu set up a Substitute, 1 damage from poison

Albinoloon issues first actions for round 2.

Lofty, you did great! Although our energy bank seems a bit dry. There is only one option now- attack!

Weather Ball - Hex - Weather Ball
if disable is used, replace that action with magic coat ONCE

Alright, let's get creative.

Vulpix, use Fire Spin to surround yourself with a wall of fire! Since Weather Ball draws it's power from it's surroundings, Fire Spin should evaporate all rain surrounding it as the sphere passes through, instead converting it into a Fire-type attack! Then, attack!

Fire Spin around Vulpix - Fire Spin Lofty - Fire Blast Lofty

If first move will not produce desired result (change Weather Ball's typing), use Fire Spin on Lofty - Fire Blast x2

-Round 2 begin-

It's getting quite stormy over here at the ASB arena! We left off from last round with Kyuu behind a Substitute after all her status moves were reflected by Magic Coat. What a tragedy for her, but things might be looking up this round.

Kyuu begins the round by surrounding herself with a wall of flames, using Fire Spin. She (or, rather, her substitute) feels a bit less rain coming down now, with the fire shield up. It has such a potent effect that when Lofty's Weather Ball comes crashing towards Kyuu's substitute, the fire neutralizes the attack's typing, making it into a Normal-type move. The damage is still increased due to weather being active, but at least it wasn't super effective. Good move on Box's part, but the poison's damage is slowly increasing.

Seeing her previous success, Kyuu then surrounds Lofty in a Fire Spin, doing minimal damage and trapping the poor balloon in a circle of flame while dissipating the one around herself. The flames aren't extremely tall, though, so Lofty is able to stare directly into Kyuu's substitute and envelop it in the worst imaginable specters of pain and malice from Balloon Hades. The attack rips the Substitute to shreds, and now Kyuu is back in the fray, albeit a bit frightened from how powerful the Forbidden Balloon Curse can be. Lofty takes a small amount of damage at the end of the action, due to Fire Spin.

Kyuu's angry now, and she musters up all the fire she can to unleash a deadly (but hindered) Fire Blast at Lofty. Not only does the attack connect, but it also leaves the balloon with a rather harsh burn. With the Fire Blast, Kyuu's previous Fire Spin disappears. Lofty gets his revenge, though, with a second Weather Ball, typing unhindered by pathetic flame walls. The water-type assault does massive damage to Kyuu.

With Lofty and Kyuu both taking gradual damage, this battle could be one to the wire. Tune in next time for continued action, straight from the very rainy ASB Arena.

GG to all! Box, you did really well for a first battle. That last substitution was technically valid, but could never have been activated since once a Pokemon reaches 0 energy, it faints. The use of Substitute really helped Kyuu out from Drifloon's myriad of status attacks, too. I have no doubt you'll get a lot better in the future.

Box and Albinoloon each receive 2 TC.

Lofty the Drifloon receives 1 EC and 2 MC, as well as 1 KOC.

Kyuu the Vulpix receives 1 EC, 2 MC, and 1 DC.

As the ref, I'll take my 2 RC and call it a day.
