ARENA: Teleportation!
Yes, you better believe it! At the end of every round, the referee will roll a number between 0* & however many arena's there are in the arena compendium thread (Each representing an arena in the Arena Compendium Thread in chronological order). Whichever number you roll, for the next round, the battle will take place on that arena. Its as simple as that.

*0 represents the ASB Tournament Arena.

Alright, at least Choragon looks like the least biult up of his Pokemon, so the baby of the team can try his luck. In this case, I think just some plain offense is the obvious way to go:

Yawn => Ice Beam * 2
IF he uses Crunch, use Disable and move all actions along.
IF he uses Outrage, use Bide.

Oh, and just to keep the ref and players sane, try to stay in the middlish area where nothing much happens :)

Round One: Bow Down to the King

We open off our battle as our two trainers teleport to the middle of what appears to be four spliced fantasy cities! Tall muscular men with spiky blond hair watch from the shadows, and there's an aura of magic in the air. Its_A_Random starts us off by sending out Choragon the Garchomp! Whispers of this powerful dragon grow in the alleyways. To counter Athenodoros sends out Nestor the Slowking, obviously a powerful magic user! The cities are abuzz about the newcomers!

Choragon starts us off with a powerful Sandstorm, whipping dust and trash from around the plaza area into a blistering typhoon of dirt and damage! Nestor isn't impressed with this attempt at power, and makes a casual Yawn in his opponents direction! The attack hits Choragon despite the raging storm surrounding him! He's looking a little tired!

Choragon bursts through the sand and attacks with a vicious Crunch! It hits for good damage on Nestor's shell! Angered by this dangerous strike, Nestor takes the initiative and uses Disable! Mind waves shoot out and attempt to erase Crunch from Choragon's mind, but the attack gets lost in the swirling sands! The Slowking's assault has failed!

With a dark blistering aura the dragon returns with another assault on Nestor, this time it's a Shadow Claw! The Slowking gets swiped across the face, he's not happy about that one! With all the icy apathy of winter, Nestor sends out a ravaging Ice Beam! It hits Choragon directly in the chest! It looks like a dangerously powerful critical hit, and the ice is spreading! It looks like, yes, even through the sand I can see that the Garchomp has been frozen solid, and his eyes are beginning to droop as well, what an upset!!!

Wait, what's this? It appears we're teleporting again? The scene's become fuzzy, hold on it's snapped back into focus! We appear to be on top of The Frozen Throne! This will certainly change the battle!

Choragon Sandstorm-9 Energy

Arena: The Frozen Throne
Field Type: Ground
Complexity: Moderate
Format: Multiples
Restriction: No Water Source

The Frozen Throne, the dreaded seat of power of the Lich King, is a large ice platform upon the top of a giant spire. An invisible wall surrounds the platform, preventing any Pokémon from falling below. However, it is highly unadvisable to fly too much above the arena, because the strong winds generally cause the unfortunate mon to be blown away (which would result in the Pokémon being effectively knocked out).

An interesting feature of the Frozen Throne is its soul siphon. Whenever a Pokémon deals 30 or more damage in a single round, he acquires a Soul Fragment at the end of the round. The Fragment can be used at the start of the next round to get one of the following effects:

- Restoring 10 Energy. This effect does not consume an action.
- Powering up an attack, causing it to deal 3 more damage. The user must declare which attack will be powered up (for example, he could issue the following order: Tackle - Thunder Wave - Tackle (powered up) ).

The Soul Fragment must be used in the round it gets available or it is lost (so, you cannot store it up). If the Soul Fragment is not used in the turn it is available, the user takes 10 flat damage caused by the fragment exploding.

Round Two: Hide and Go Sleast

Random, realising that Choragon is in a tough spot, especially here on the Frozen Throne, switches him out for a new combatant, Sleast the Gastrodon! Athenodoros counters with Astraea the Starmie, who quickly opens the fight off by shooting off a mantis coloured ribbon that undercut it's opponents center of gravity, a Grass Knot, sending Sleast tumbling for good damage! The Gastrodon realizes what a pickle he's in, and rapidly burrows underground, it looks like thats a Dig! And he hasn't come up yet! The sand blows around turbulently, eventually settling but it still had a bit of an effect on the Starmie.

Astraea, in an attempt to pull it's opponent out of the ground, shoots down another Grass Knot near the hole, but come's up empty handed. Tentacled. Whatever. Sleast is making no sign of making an appearance, the arena grows quiet in his absense.

Once again the Grass Knot is projected around the arena, without it finding the Gastrodon. Suddenly, in a spontaneous flash of dirt and snow Sleast bursts from the ground, slamming Astraea! Looks like a solid hit!

Whoa, everyone hold on to your lunch, we're teleporting again! Looks like we've arrived at the Bosses' Way! Lots of static in the air now folks!

Arena: The Bosses' Way
Field Type: Ground/Electric
Complexity: Intense
Format: Singles

Restrictions: Limited Ceiling, Artificial Field, No Weather, No Water Source, No Digging

Description:

The arena is in a darkened, concrete indoor Gym with a large throne chair placed on top of a stone balcony with two flanking concrete brickwork stairwells on either side. In front of this lies a standard Gym floor pattern, with a twist. The arena is lined by 6 surrounding blue orbed poles that generate an electric field that keeps the Pokemon inside the 20 W x 40 L X 15 H (feet) arena. If any Pokemon other than an Electric or Ground type hits the barrier, they will suffer 4 HP damage. Resistance to electricity will reduce this damage by 2, while Weakness to electricity will increase it by 2.

Because it is enclosed, weather moves will not work in this arena. It has no water sources and the concrete is too thick and musty to be dug through. The arena has fairly low natural lighting, but most Pokemon can see just fine, and if the electric field is hit it will generate light.

Just a heads up: You have calculated Dig's Energy Cost incorrectly; Dig should've costed 9+2 Energy A1, then another 4 A2, then nothing A3 upon release. That & the Drowsiness on Garchomp should've disappeared upon switching out...I'd like to hear Atheno's opinion on this...

"Well Sleast, now's a good opportunity to go on the offensive! The lack of grass means that Starmie will not be able to use Grass Knot, which is a boon! Aim for the juggular with a powerful Earth Power, followed by an Earthquake & rounding off with another Earth Power! If Astraea decides to counter with Bide, Then leave your first action as normal, but replace your next action with a 15 HP Substitute! If Astraea uses Grass Knot, laugh as the attack will fail due to the lack of grass!"

Earth Power > Earthquake > Earth Power

IF Bide, THEN do your first action under Bide as normal, BUT replace your next action with Substitute (15 HP)

However, Random has left himself open to quite a bit here starting with the lovely levitate command...

Round Three: Quakes and Fakes

We open us this round in the Bosses' Way, an electrically charged gym! Astraea the Starmie starts us off by levitating over the ground in anticipation of Sleast's next move, which by the golden aura that's appeared on the ground seems to be an Earth Power! The cracks appear all around and the terraneous power hits Astraea! Luckily the Levitate appears to have reduced the damage! It also appears to have weakened the base of some of the poles, the electric net shudders slightly.

Astraea, fearful about other powerful attacks, lands and sets up Substitute to cover her from more damage. In retaliation Sleasts uses a powerful Earthquake to hit his opponent for some real damage. It unfortunately doesn't make contact because Starmie is still floating! This can't be said for the pillars, it brings down 3 of the six pillars! Still charged with electricty, one of them tumbles down onto the Substitute, while the other hits Gastrodon! Luckily his ground type shields him, but the same can't be said for the Sub! It's still standing but it's taken some damage! The polls lie criss-crossed on the ground, making the net smooshed inward with about 5 feet above for moving around!

Behind its rapidly disintegrating Substitute, Astraea uses a tricky move, Pain Split! Two glowing balls of aura shoot up from her and Sleast, trying to even out their health! This really ticks off Sleast, who slams the ground again with an Earth Power. It blows up the ground beneath the Substitute, leaving Astraea exposed! Another pillar shakes but stays upright! These two seem perfectly evenly matched right now, they're on almost exactly equal ground!

Looks like it's time to teleport again! We've landed on what looks like an ancient pirate ship, what a wreak!

I think Earthquake shouldn't have hit me because of Levitate, in which case I should have a sub up. Also, grrrr arenas.

I misread Levitate's duration, I'll make an edit, the Sub should srill have broken because of the damage from the pillar, so Astraea is still without a substitute. So Athenodoros' turn. I'll also say that there is enough mold and fungus on the rotten floorboards of the ship to support the use of Grass Knot.

Round Four: Sleast I Can Do
We open up this round on a pirate ship thats rocking like a hurricane! Astraea draws on the power of the moss on the planks and shoots away a powerful Grass Knot! It trips up Sleast for some serious damage! The Gastrodon replies to this attack by chilling casually, regaining some much needed energy.

Astraea, deciding that Grass Knot is just the best attack ever, shoots out another ribbon of plant life, but whats this? It appears that Sleast has tensed up his muscles, improving his endurance! It doesn't look like there's much hope to knock him out this round!

Astraea attempts to finish him off with yet another Grass Knot but that Endure holds strong, Sleast doesn't fall! And now he's taken a leaf out of Astraea's book and is using Pain Split to even things up, its even more intense because he has so little health left! The effort leaves him exhausted, but Astraea doesn't look much better either, and it appears that some splinters in the floor have done some damage over the round as well!

And the teleportation has happened again! Well this looks like a terrible occurence for both combatants, we're in the searing Wasabe Desert!!

Arena: Wasabe Desert (Yes, I do like the taste of wasabe, don't hate)
Field Type: Ground/Rock
Complexity: Moderate
Format: Singles, Doubles

It's a desert. There are cactuses (or is it cacti?), plenty of soil to dig into and Sunny Day is always in effect. There is a slight chance that a Sandstorm will occur (40% chance), and when it does, it lasts for a furious 5 Rounds. Water Types do not thrive in these conditions, thus have a 5% chance that their attacks fail (Water type moves, that is). Ice Types are even less suited, so they have a 10% that their attacks fail (Ice type moves, that is). Water and Ice type attacks are nerfed by 1 Damage in this arena as well. Grass and Fire types thrive, so they get a 1 Damage boost to each of their respective attacks (which does not stack). Ground and Rock types receive 1 less Damage (this does not stack) in these conditions.
Cacneas, Cacturnes, and Maractus's all live in this arena. Each time a battling Pokemon get's hit, they may have a random chance encounter with one of each of these Pokemon (10% Cacnea, 5% Maractus, and 3% Cacturne). These Desert Pokemon will use, Absorb, Giga Drain, and Mega Drain, respectively.

"Well Sleast, the splainter have put us in a bit of a pickle...Those cacti mean that a Grass Knot COULD be possible, but that's ref's discretion. I think it would be a great time to switch. You'll come in handy later, but for now, Capers, you're in!"

Alright, we can do this again. Out we come, Nidhogg!

Male Dragonite (*), "Nidhogg"

Let's go!

Ice Beam * 3
IF he uses Torment, alternate Surf with Ice Beam afterwards.
IF he uses Double Team, use Surf against as many of the clones as possible until you hit the right one.

"Well Capers, since we're faster, we can limit this fools actions FAST, meaning we only take damage once!"

Dig > Torment > U-Turn, Switch in Choragon

Atheno I'm reffing this anyway but Nidhogg is entitled to an item, if you add one on that you feel would have had a big impact on the round please let me know.

Round Five: Wasagonnabe Desert
This round we're in the scorching hot Wasabe Desert! Both combatants have returned their water type Pokemon and sent out others! It's now Capers the Gliscor and Nidhogg the Dragonite facing off for combat! Let's see what's going to happen! Capers opens off by diving into the sand and vanishing, pretty quick Dig there! Nidhogg sends off an Ice Beam towards his direction but gets nothing but sand! Capers emerges below him, his attack uneffective but he's successfully saved his skin from that flurry of frost!

The flying scorpion proceeds to fill Nidhogg's mind with evil thoughts, Tormenting him! What an underhanded move! But Nidhogg has been prepared for this, and tries to summon a powerful wave to destroy his opponent! Unfortunately the desert doesn't provide him with the water necessary and the move fails!

Capers is on edge about what his opponent has been dishing out and uses an evasive move, it's a U-Turn! It hits for some good damage, and as the Gliscor is speeding back to it's Pokeball Nidhogg attacks with one last Ice Beam, the ray catches Capers! It does some serious damage before he gets sent back into the Pokeball and the next Pokemon gets sent out, it's the return of Choragon the Garchomp, however he still has a slight coating of frost.

And we're teleporting yet again, this is certainly started to confuse me! It appears we've landed in the Nature Valley, I can tell since I'm a ref, and I've been everywhere man.

Nature Valley: A fairly large valley nestled west of Mistralton City, this secluded area has been unperturbed by human activity for hundreds of years. The valley has slopes at an incline of 70 degrees all around, with a thick moss coating it, giving pokemon who are climbing down the treacherous slope some traction. Other than the slopes and an open field in the southern section, the whole valley (and around the valley) is full of many big, stable trees (Oaks, Maples, etc.) that will allow any agile pokemon to have the upper hand in a battle staged here. The sun is shining brightly but there are many clouds in the sky, blocking the sun every so often. Because the valley is covered in vegetation little dirt or sand is exposed, making sandstorms unable to happen, although heavy rain and hailstorms can be summoned. The ground is soft enough so that pokemon can dig, and in the northern section of the valley there is a small pond (five feet deep, twenty-five feet wide, twenty feet long). Summary: no sandstorm, rain hail and sunny day can be summoned, digging is allowed, huge area with cramped quarters (besides the field in the south), huge trees able to hold large weights, water accessible.
