The grand reopening of the mighty Sword and Shield Gym has finally arrived! The opening match between Maxim and Elevator is about to start, the small crowd able to traverse the puzzles of the gym are anxiously awaiting the start of this glorious match. Before the match can officially start, the rules need to be revisited for all those involved in this match.

Arena: What else?
Flavor:
Hidden in Opelucid City in the Unova region, there lies an old gym that was once used for Rotation Battles, but was left abandoned after some people were hurt in the gym. Maxim has renovated (and improved the safety features of) this gym, and now serves as his (possible and unlikely) gym arena. The gym puzzle generally involves two types of rotating platforms, long sword platforms that connect one place to the next, and circular shield platforms that connect to four places. Every time one platform is rotated, all the others rotate as well. The trick of the gym is to get rotate the shield platforms in such a manner that the sword platforms lead you to the gym stadium.

Arena:
At the end of the gym is a square arena about 100 meters in length with two big circular platforms in the middle. The arena is purpose built for rotation battles, but can be used for other battles sparingly. This arena has a moat for water types to swim in and for surf, but they cannot attack unless they are in the front position or else they're disqualified. Also, the water is not deep enough to Dive in, and Digging will damage the machinery under the arena. All Normal types are reinforced here, and receive the Sturdy trait (How the arena does this is a trade secret). The arena is also put under constant increased gravity, which cannot be dispelled even by the move Gravity.

Summary: No Digging or Diving, Constant Gravity effect, Normal types get sturdy trait.

Abilities:
Natural Cure: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body has the ability to heal itself of status afflictions over time, it goes into effect six (6) actions after being inflicted with a status. In switch battles, this Pokemon heals all status effects when switched out.
Poison Point: (Can be Disabled) This Pokemon’s spikes/quills/thorns are coated in poison, and there is a 30% chance of poisoning any foe that uses a contact attack on this Pokemon. When disabled, all of this Pokemon's attacks that inflict regular poison will inflict Toxic poison (with the same chance of effect).
Technician (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.

The match gets started off with a bang as Diagnos quickly surges foward and crashes into Revenankh, however the attack is quickly countered with a massive whip of corded bandages crushing Diagnos into the arena floor. The powerful blow leaves Diagnos crushed into the ground, Diagnos just manages to swing one of his blades around and catch Revenankh acrossthe chest with it. To avoid further blows Revenankh quickly distances himself from Diagnos and begins harassing him for being smashed into the floor, causing him to lose some of his focus, causing him to quickly pull himself up and charge foward again, however the tackle is met with the same result, taking a massive whip but being able to maintain his stance this time. Both fighters glare at each other as they await orders for the next round!

Alurani, feeling weak, fires off a small red beam that connects with Revenankh and begins to drain his energy. However before she can manage to siphon much off, Revenankh charges foward and slams the plant back with a powerful frozen punch. Alurani decides that her time in this match is short, so she quickly starts spraying spikes across the field in preperation for her allies to come in and sweep a clean victory. Revenankh gets tired of all of the shenanigans though, and cloaks one first in ice and the other in shadow and lunges forward with a vicious one-two punch that leaves Alurani lying on the floor.

Crushing blows are traded as Hagenaru switches in to a field coated with spikes that rip his armor plating apart, leaving huge gashes across his skin, to make things worse, Nora quickly agitates the wound by spitting flames into the wound, burning Hagenaru horribly. Hagenaru unleashes his rage by launching volley after volley of massive stones at Nora, the stones crushing Nora and dealing massive amounts of damage. Attempting to gain some ground through the waves of stone, Nora causes the sunlight to start glaring harshly, and then follows it up with a vortex of fire that singes Hagenaru, almost leveling the playing field, but Nora is still reeling from the blows barely able to continue the fight.
