Hitmonchan proves that its respectable power, good bulk and Rapid Spinning abilities are enough for it to be used by the best. Unfortunately I couldn't convince Antar to raise the "1337" bar to 1250 even though we have more battles than Ubers but these stats are excellent stuff. Fairly sure I'm responsible for the "1337" Dodrio usage :naughty:
 
I'm really surprised by the topmons. I can't believe Claydol is still first... all it does is sit there. However, I'm also surprised at Hitmonchan. After an eternity of being overshadowed by Hitmonlee, it suddenly overtook it? And this is the generation where 'Lee got Reckless HJK? Remarkable. Anyway, it's obvious that we RU players like our Spinners. Off to build a team without Spikes now
 
Some interesting stats here to say the least. Claydol in number 1? That's surprising seeing as he's mocked by every spin-blocker in the tier and he's slow with virtually no offensive presence meaning he's easy set-up and taunt bait too. But then again, this is >1200. Honchkrow isn't surprising seeing how good it is. Slowking is a little surprising as it's pretty easy to get around. Maybe it's just for the TR factor. What are the bugs doing in 30 and 31? Durant and Accelgor have some of the highest potential in the tier IMO.

1200 is making a bit more sense. Again, slowking on 3, probably for TR. Hitmonchan isn't surprising seeing how much utility it has. It's basically what hitmontop should have been in UU. A top-notch revenge killer and spinner. Entei's is right under him, another infamous priority abuser, not surprised really with crazy sweepers like omastar and his rain buddies running around. Sceptile on 4 is quite interesting. It's definetely a good pokemon, but I didn't think it would jump up to 4. Accelgor is a fair bit higher but durant is still down on 28 :(.

I think this will be a good round for spin-blockers. (Just watch out for foresight).

Claydol is only number 1 because of all the idiotic n00bs thinking it is the best mon in the worl. Aside from that, it looks like Sceptile and Lanturn are finally getting some love.

It's very easy to handle in my experience but I just don't see why it's viable in RU. It's out-classed by pretty much everything it does. Lilligant at quiver sweeping, and tonnes of stuff at late game cleaning. It's crazy SR weakness doesn't make it any more attractive either. Seems an odd choice for decent players IMO. Still, it must be pretty fun to cleanly sweep the odd noob with only butterfree...

Butterfree can have very decent coverage with only 1 move, 'cause of Tinted Lens. And this allows it to run Sub, to scout and avoid status. That and the fact that many teams are underprepared for her makes her a viable mon but far from top 20 mon.
Of 'course SilentVerse might even use it in Ubers but this is another story...

I am also surprised by the fact that Claydol is really no 1? I mean this thing is an ok mon, having some pretty decent defenses and resistances, and being able to spin and put up SR, but her weaknesses are easily exploitable (Pursuit anyone), she is setup bait for far too many pokes and she fails to spin against every simple ghost. The only thing he does well is lay SR, and stop some fighting and electric mons imo.

Also wtf Mandibuzz fell around 30 positions in the 1337 stats? Does this mean that stall is becoming less viable?

Finally if the usage stats continue like this, Honchkrow and Sharpedo, our two Dark killers, will be soon gone from RU. Come on UU stop stealing our Dark types (looking at you Krookodile).

Stall is more viable than it had been since Porygon-Z has been banned. I was the primary user of Mandibuzz among those with a 1200+ rating and I hardly laddered because of the server crashes, ladder inactivity and being busy, so Mandibuzz usage plummeted.
 
Accelgor, Typhlosion, Lanturn, Slowking and Claydol are ones I saw a lot while in RU. Aggron was one I used plenty. Metal Burst + Red Card + Sturdy came out to be a pretty unsuspecting strategy for me. :)
 
It's kinda obvious why Claydol is getting so much use. Spinning, Stealth Rock, amazing typing. It's still a pretty shitty mon though, don't get me wrong, it's just irreplaceable on a lot of teams.

I'm surprised at how low Jynx is.
 
Gallade is #7 which is pretty unbelievable considering I hardly ever see this. Then again claydol is still #1 (sigh) when will people learn. Also congratz on silentverse for getting probopass and butterfree so high lol.

@Heysup I would definitely not say has claydol good typing. Pratically any non fighting type can kill this thing. With no recover move it really is a average pokemon. Also every spin blocker can beat it which doesn't help it.
 
Btw ShakeItUp why the fuck are you using Combusken? I just can't think how this poke can wallbreak with those mediocre attacking stats. Can you tell me it's role on your team?
 
Claydol does have its perks. It's the only Pokemon to resist Ground, Rock and Fighting, meaning it can "wall" a miriad of threats. Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock are obvious, but it can notably, and easily, Toxic incoming Ghost-types. None of them enjoy Toxic, since it completely cripples most of them. Heck, Toxic cripples pretty much everything that commonly switches into Claydol. Still a shitty mon though
 
The only reason combusken manage to get a ko on my team was mainly the surprise factor as I thought it was physical and not specially based. It can also be a decent sweeper thanks to speed boost but it's mainly a worse sharpedo. Which can run a physical and mix set.
 
What other spinners and stealth rock users do you guys use if your not running Claydol? I have been trying Armaldo but its a hit and a miss for me.
 
Ah yeah i forgot about Speed Boost. Because in the beggining i thought that SIU was using Combusken with Blaze, which seemed so fucking absurd. Bit with Speed Boost i guess it can work for you. And it is not totally outclassed by Sharpedo as they have entirely different counters.
 
Manectric needs more love. It's arguably the best offensive mon in the tier and its only sitting at 38th?

Also, I'm pretty scared of Butterfree. Compoundeyes-boosted Sleep Powder allows it to set-up with arguably the best boosting move in the game. Its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock is mitigated by the large amount of viable spinners in the metagame. Bug is also a great STAB to have, as it breaks down the popular Slowking+Tangrowth Regenerator core.

Also Claydol is good if used properly. See: Avira's stall.

Also Manectric is probably going to rise in usage, I've been seeing alot more and use it on almost all of my teams. Mandibuzz might rise too. That Pokemon is a beast!

If you are using Compoundeyes Butterfree, then you are doing it wrong. Butterfree needs Tinted Lens to avoid being outclassed by Lilligant, which has Quiver dance + Sleep Powder and can also break the defensive core you mentioned, while also being better in every single stat.
Butterfree's plus is that it can hit almost everything neutrally with just Bug Buzz, which lets it run Sub as the 4th move to scout and avoid status.
