Mienfoo (Update)

[Overview]

Say hello to Mienfoo, one of the frontrunners for the cutest Pokemon in Little Cup. But don't be fooled by its devilishly good looks—there is more to this Pokemon than just a pretty face. In fact, Mienfoo isuncontested as the best pivot Pokemon in the tier. With access to U-turn and the ability Regenerator, Mienfoo can switch in, take a hit, U-turn out, and regain HPmultiple times throughout the match. However, it is difficult to determine which of Mienfoo's many strengths is the key to its success. While it is a fantastic defensive pivot, it also possesses excellent physical bulk, making it the best Scraggy check in the tier. Furthermore, its high Attack stat, along with high Base Power options such as Hi Jump Kick, makes it a fantastic attacker. It's also a great option for defensive teams thanks to its high Speed and access to many support options, such as Taunt and Knock Off, Whichever type of team you use Mienshao in,you can be sure it will perform its role perfectly. And even if Mienfoo doesn't pull its weight, it's still absolutely adorable, making it worthy of a team slot anyway.

[SET]
name: Bulky Attacker
move 1: Fake Out
move 2: Drain Punch / Hi Jump Kick
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Payback
item: Eviolite
ability: Regenerator
nature: Impish
evs: 156 Atk / 196 Def / 36 SpD / 76 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This is Mienfoo's bread and butter set. Mienfoo performs the role of a bulky attacker perfectly. With access to Fake Out, Mienfoo gets free damage on any Pokemon without Protect. In a tier full of Sturdy Tirtouga, Sand Rush Drilbur, Focus Sash Abra, and many others, getting that free hit without fear of retaliation is often crucial. The next slot is a toss-up between two excellent STAB options. Drain Punch is strong and reliable, but most importantlis its healing effect. With Drain Punch and Regenerator, Mienfoo can remain in tip top fighting condition, even after tanking hits such as Scraggy's Hi Jump Kick. Speaking of Hi Jump Kick, it can easily replace Drain Punch in this set. Hi Jump Kick hasalmost twice the power of Drain Punch, greatly aiding Mienfoo in netting KOs. Hi Jump Kick's imperfect accuracy and the threat of recoil is not a big deal for Mienfoo thanks to its fantastic ability. Next comes U-turn, one of the reasons why Mienfoo is so fun to use and so annoying to play. U-turn allows Mienfoo to play the role of a scout and is what makes it such an excellent pivot. It also hits Pokemon such as Slowpoke the hardest out of any move on this set. The last optionis Payback, which allows Mienfoo to 2HKO Misdreavus with the given Attack investment. The above EV spread is crucial to Mienfoo's success. With maximum Attack investment, Mienfoo hits incredibly hard, making it a rather potent offensive threat. The Defense investment and Impish nature, along with Eviolite, make it very bulky physically, and allow it to check Pokemon such as Scraggy and Drilbur with impunity. The extra point in Special Defense ensures that Mienfoo is almost never 2HKOed by Misdreavus's Shadow Ball, while it 2HKOes in return with Payback. Finally, the Speed investment gives it 14 Speed, allowing it to outspeed many threats in the tier.

[Additional Comments]

One of the greatest things about Mienfoo is the diversity it brings to the table; the moves above are not set in stone, and Mienfoo can fill many roles for the team. Aside from the Fighting-type STAB and U-turn, Mienfoo's moveset is entirely up to the user . Low Sweep can replace either Drain Punch or Hi Jump Kick. When using Low Sweep, though, it is preferable to use 76 Atk / 196 Def / 236 Spe and an Impish nature. With this spread, Mienfoo hits 16 Speed, allowing it to outspeed, and thus, consistently dominate Dragon Dance Scraggy due to the Speed drops granted by Low Sweep. It retains its physical bulk while only losing some of its attacking prowess. Furthermore, Fake Out or Payback can be replaced by any of Mienfoo's other options. Stone Edge allows it to OHKO Larvesta and threaten Shelmet, which otherwise completely walk over this set. Access to Knock Off is also a boon for Mienfoo in an item-dependent tier such as Little Cup. Using Knock Off to remove opposing Eviolites allows other offensive Pokemon, or even Mienfoo, tosweep more easily. Taunt is also a great move on Mienfoo, preventing Pokemon such as Hippopotas from using Stealth Rock, and preventing or Shellder from using Shell Smash. With 236 Speed and a Jolly nature, Mienfoo hits 17 Speed; with that and Taunt, Mienfoo can completely prevent Dwebble from setting up any layers of entry hazards, something few Pokemon can boast. Mienfoo even has access to Rain Dance if that suits your fancy.

As Murkrow and Misdreavus check Mienfoo, Bronzor makes for an excellent teammate. It can switch in on anything Murkrow does barring Life Orb Heat Wave with impunity. Likewise, it makes a pretty decent switch-in to Misdreavus, and is immediately threatening with Toxic. It can also set up Stealth Rock, which is invaluable for a Pokemon that causes as many switches as Mienfoo does. Psychic or Earthquake quickly dispatches Croagunk, another Pokemon that threatens Mienfoo. Chinchou is also an excellent partner for Mienfoo. Specially defensive Chinchou counters Murkrow and most Misdreavus sets. Moreover, access to Volt Switch allows for a cool VoltTurn duo. Heal Bell can clear Mienfoo of any debilitating status ailments. Slowpoke makes a fun Regenerator duo with Mienfoo, as in tandem they arecapable of completely manhandling physical threats. Croagunk and Scraggy are both good checks to Pokemon such as Misdreavus and Slowpoke that give Mienfoo trouble. Furthermore, they are more able to do damage to the opponent's team with Mienfoo taking care of their own checks. Finally, any Pokemon that appreciates a free switch-in enjoys Mienfoo as a partner.

name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Hi Jump Kick
move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Drain Punch / Knock Off
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Regenerator
nature: Adamant
evs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

There is not much to say about this set. With the given EV spread, Mienfoo hits 19 Attack and 16 Speed, which means 24 with the Choice Scarf. When sporting its fashionable hipster garment, Mienfoo outspeeds all unboosted Pokemon in the metagame, including the Misdreavus and Murkrow that give it so many problems. It also outspeeds many other important Pokemon, such as +1 Scraggy, Choice Scarf Snover, Choice Scarf Shellder, and +2 Modest Shellder. Hi Jump Kick is Mienfoo's most powerful option, and with 19 Attack, is taking a huge chunk out of anything that isn't immune to it. Stone Edge is Mienfoo's most powerful attack against Misdreavus, and easily dispatches Pokemon such as Larvesta and Shelmet. U-turn makes Mienfoo Mienfoo, and is its most powerful attack against Psychic-type Pokemon such as Abra, Slowpoke, and Solosis. Finally, the last option is a toss-up. Drain Punch is an excellent option, especially for a last Pokemon situation. Knock Off, on the other hand, disrupts the opponent, and is a handy option to have early in the game.

[Additional Comments]

Since Choice Scarf Mienfoo is primarily a revenge killer, it misses out on much of the utility of the previous set. Its main goal is to hit hard and fast. Unfortunately, its barren physical movepool gives it few other attacking moves. Access to Aerial Ace allows Mienfoo to more easily revenge Croagunk. Aside from that, Toxic can be used in the last slot, especially since it cripples Misdreavus. You can even use Taunt if you want, though it most likely won't see much use.

Choice Scarf Mienfoo adores entry hazards, and especially adores partners that can set them up consistently. An excellent partner for Mienfoo is Hippopotas, as access to Stealth Rock hurts every Pokemon that switches in against Mienfoo. Sand Stream provides even more passive damage, which makes it easier to handle Misdreavus. Chinchou forms an excellent VoltTurn duo with Choice Scarf Mienfoo, frequently overwhelming the opposition. As previously stated, Croagunk and Scraggy make excellent partners as well. Cacnea, or another Grass-type Pokemon, makes a good partner for Choice Scarf Mienfoo as it is able to easily dispatch bulky Pokemon such as Hippopotas and Slowpoke, something Mienfoo is incapable of doing.

[SET]
name: Baton Pass
move 1: Substitute / Swords Dance
move 2: Baton Pass
move 3: Drain Punch / Hi Jump Kick
move 4: Payback
item: Eviolite
ability: Regenerator
nature: Impish
evs: 156 Atk / 196 Def / 36 SpD / 76 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Access to a variety ofset-up options and Baton Pass makes Mienfoo a prime choice for facilitating a sweep. What you chose to passdepends on theteam. Substitute is an excellent option; with Regenerator, Mienfoo can set up Substitute many times throughout the match. Baton Passing Substitute gives many Pokemon a guaranteed switch into battle, and acts as a pseudo U-Turn. If the Substitute remains intact, which is rather likely due to Mienfoo's bulk and unpredictability, then the recipient gets the necessary free turn to set up or start sweeping. Swords Dance, however, can be used instead of Substitute. Pokemon such as Scraggy, Elekid, and Murkrow become absolutely monstrous when given a +2 boost in Attack. As for STAB, Mienfoo should use Drain Punch with Substitute or Hi Jump Kick with Swords Dance. The recovery provided by Drain Punch is particularly useful due to the 25% taxon Mienfoo's HP when using Substitute. Drain Punch and Regenerator, allow Mienfoo to remain healthy enough to use Substitute throughout the match. When using Swords Dance, Hi Jump Kick's incredible power is the way to go. At +2, Mienfoo can do massive damage with Hi Jump Kick, and might be able to save the turn it would have used Baton Pass in order to engage the opponent itself. Finally, Payback is the best move for the last slot. When behind a Substitute, Mienfoo has an easier time taking down Misdreavus. With the given EV spread, Payback will easily 2HKO, or OHKO with a +2 boost from Swords Dance.

[Additional Comments]

Obviously, the Fighting-type STAB is up to preference; you can easily use Hi Jump Kick with Substitute or Drain Punch with Swords Dance. Another cool option for either is Low Sweep. Aside from that, Taunt can be used in place of Payback to prevent Pokemon such as Hippopotas using Roar toremove your boosts, or Lileepusing Toxic on your recipient, giving its sweep a time limit. Knock Off can be a fun move as well, but is generally best for other sets. There aren't many changes that can be made with the moves, as aside from Payback, every move is absolutely crucial on this set. With Swords Dance you could try a more offensive spread, with max Attatck and Speed, and maybe even a Life Orb, if Mienfoo wants to attempt a sweep on its own.

Because of the incredible support that this Mienfoo provides, many Pokemon act as good teammates as they makeexcellent recipients. Scraggy makes a fantastic partner for either Substitute or Swords Dance. Behind a Substitute, Scraggy is incredibly threatening. With +3 Attack and +1 Speed, Scraggy is a monstrosity, unable to be tamed. Murkrow also makes a good partner, as it can easily use either the Substitute or the Swords Dance to wreak havoc. Frail Pokemon such as Elekid or Abra appreciate the Substitute as it allows them to take a hit that would have otherwise meant their demise. Sturdy Pokemon such as Tirtouga or Dwebble also adore the Substitute. They are then free to use Shell Smash without fear of losing Sturdy, making a sweep incredibly easy. Many physical attackers such as Ponyta and Larvesta appreciate the Swords Dance boost. Other Pokemon such as Bronzor, Chinchou, Misdreavus, and Croagunk make good teammates as well, either providing entry hazards or checks to Pokemon that threaten Mienfoo.

[Other Options]
p>Aside from the above sets, Mienfoo does not have many other things it can do. It can pull off a decent Life Orb set; with its high Attack stat and relatively good coverage, along with Regenerator to mitigate Life Orb recoil, Mienfoo can really do some damage. Unfortunately, its low Speed compared to many other Pokemon in the tier makes foregoing bulk for offensive capabilities a rather painful trade. Mienfoo also has access toCalm Mind and Bulk Up. Mienfoo can either attempt to Baton Pass Calm Mind boosts to Pokemon such as Staryu or Misdreavus or pull off a rather entertaining special attacking set. With access to a reliable special STAB move in Aura Sphere, along with other special attacks such as Grass Knot, it is always possible for the more gimmicky players. A more feasible option comes in Bulk Up. Bulk Up can be set up on nearly any physical attacker, and is rather effective against Scraggy. Furthermore, Bulk Up can also be Baton Passed, to Pokemon such as Drilbur and Murkrow. Mienfoo also has access to Rain Dance, making it one of the most effective weather starters for rain teams. Finally, Mienfoo has Toxic, which can be used for more defensive teams, or for a somewhat silly Substitute / Toxic set.

[Checks and Counters]

Even though Mienfoo just exudes class from every pore, there are many Pokemon that give it trouble, the biggest threats being Misdreavus and Murkrow. Misdreavus threatens Mienfoo with its powerful STAB moves, while being immune to Mienfoo's STAB. Furthermore, Will-O-Wisp can completely neuter Mienfoo for the rest of the match. Murkrow, on the other hand, has access to powerful, super effective STAB on Mienfoo, which easily earns the OHKO. Likewise, strong special attackers, such Gastlyand Life Orb Staryu, threaten to outspeed and 2HKO Mienfoo with their STAB moves. Drilbur is a threat in the sand, as Life Orb or Protect Eviolite variants can take down even physically defensive Mienfoo after previous damage. Larvesta makes an excellent Mienfoo counter provided that it lacks Stone Edge, and even threatens to burn with Flame Body. Shelmet, on the other hand, can lay downSpikes with impunity, as it takes very little from any of Mienfoo's moves, again with the exception of Stone Edge. Tirtouga, Dwebble, Shellder, Clamperl, and Omanyte are all incredibly threatening to Mienfoo after a Shell Smash. Wynaut makes a good check for Choice Scarf Mienfoo, but must risk U-turn. Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Oddish and Bulbasaur check Mienfoo by virtue of their typing and support moves. Vullaby makes a good check as it is bulky enough to tank Mienfoo's attacks and hits it hard with Air Slash. Psychic-type Pokemon, such as Abra and Slowpoke, threaten Mienfoo with their STAB moves and resistance to its own Fighting-type STAB. Physically bulky Pokemon such as Hippopotas don't take much from Mienfoo's attacks. Chlorophyll and Swift Swim sweepers threaten to outspeed Mienfoo in their corresponding weathers and hit it incredibly hard. Life Orb Horsea in the rain, for example, OHKOes with Hydro Pump.

I did this skeleton on irc We talked about this skeleton on irc, and it looks pretty good. Just make sure you mention specific alternate spreads within your writing, since Mienfoo has a lot of them. Snover indeed 2HKOs with Blizzard. Vullaby's a pretty nifty counter as well, might want to mention that. Other than that it looks very nice.

I want Low Sweep slashed somewhere on the first set. It is far too good to pass up.

I disagree. Low Sweep is good, and I agree with that completely. But that's what AC is for. The first set has filler options that can take Low Sweep, but I am not making it a primary option on the set. I do not believe it deserves a slash. I'll emphasize in the write up that it's a great substitute for any of the Fighting-type moves on the set, but Drain Punch is standard, and HJK is too fucking strong. Low Sweep is the third option, and will remain AC.

edit: Also, with Low Sweep, you probably want a faster Mienfoo, to hit some scarfers / destroy Scraggy. I don't want to give it a slash only to say you probably want to change the main spread for this too.

This is a really important analysis, and since voting is happening this weekend, I'd recommend you hold off on writing it.

I personally think you should merge the SD and SubPass sets. Sure, they do different things, but they are centered around the same idea. You can set up on pretty much the same stuff, and the EVs don't really need to be changed.

Actually, they are similar in nature but they're different enough that if blara doesn't mind writing both sets then it should be fine. Whatever you do, start soon haha

With Gligar gone, Choice Scarf deserves to be moved up at least one slot. Also, Choice Scarf deserves to have the last slot have Drain Punch / Knock Off, with Toxic in OO.

QC Approved

If you make any other mistakes I'll be sure to let you know

Access to a variety of support or set-up options and Baton Pass makes Mienfoo a prime choice for facilitating a sweep. What you pass, then, depends on the user. As for STAB, Mienfoo should use Drain Punch with Substitute or Hi Jump Kick with Swords Dance. Mienfoo's fist of good health is particularly useful due to the 25% tax to Mienfoo's HP when using Substitute. Drain Punch and Regenerator, then, allow Mienfoo to frequently remain healthy enough to be able to constantly use Substitute. With the given EV spread, Payback will easily 2HKO. With a +2 boost from Swords Dance, then Payback becomes an easy OHKO on Misdreavus.

[Additional Comments]

Obviously, the Fighting-type STAB is up to preference; you can easily use Hi Jump Kick with Substitute or Drain Punch with Swords Dance. Another cool option for either is Low Sweep. With the Speed drop that Low Sweep causes, it is much easier to successfully get the Baton Pass off and your Substitute or boosts transferred. Aside from that, Taunt can be used in place of Payback to prevent Pokemon such as Hippowdon using Roar to mitigate your boosts, or Lileep from using Toxic on your recipient, giving its sweep a time limit. Knock Off can be a fun move as well, but is generally best for other sets. There aren't many changes that can be made with the moves, as aside from Payback, every move is absolutely crucial on this set. Swords Dance could try a more offensive spread, with max Attatck and Speed, and maybe even a Life Orb, if Mienfoo wants to attempt a sweep on its own.

Because of the incredible support that this Mienfoo provides, many Pokemon act as good teammates as they make for excellent recipients. Scraggy makes for a fantastic partner for either Substitute or Swords Dance. Behind a Substitute, Scraggy is incredibly threatening. With +3 Attack and +1 Speed, Scraggy is a monstrosity, unable to be tamed. Murkrow also makes for a good partner, as it can easily use either the Substitute or the Swords Dance to wreak havoc. Many physical attackers such as Ponyta or Larvesta appreciate the Swords Dance boost. Other Pokemon such as Bronzor, Chinchou, Misdreavus, and Croagunk make good teammates as well, either providing entry hazards or checks to Pokemon that threaten Mienfoo.

Likewise, strong special attackers, such as Choice Scarf Snover, Gastly, or Life Orb Staryu, threaten to outspeed and 2HKO Mienfoo with their STAB moves. Drilbur is a threat in the sand, as Life Orb or Protect Eviolite variants can take down even physically defensive Mienfoo after previous damage. Without Stone Edge, Larvesta makes for an excellent Mienfoo counter, and even threatens to burn with Flame Body. Shelmet, on the other hand, can lay down layers of Spikes with impunity, as it takes very little from any of Mienfoo's other moves. Tirtouga, Dwebble, Shellder, Clamperl, and Omanyte are all incredibly threatening to Mienfoo after a Shell Smash. Wynaut makes for a good check for Choice Scarf Mienfoo, but must risk U-turn. Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Oddish and Bulbasaur check Mienfoo by virtue of their typing and support moves. Vullaby makes for a good check as it is bulky enough to tank Mienfoo's attacks and hits it hard with Air Slash. Psychic-type Pokemon, such as Abra or Slowpoke, threaten Mienfoo with their STAB moves and resistance to its own Fighting-type STAB.

[Overview]

Say hello to Mienfoo, one of the frontrunners for the cutest Pokemon in Little Cup. But don't be fooled by its devilishly good looks—there is more to this Pokemon than just a pretty face. In fact, Mienfoo is the uncontested best pivot Pokemon in the tier. With access to U-Tturn and the ability Regenerator, Mienfoo can switch in, take a hit, U-Tturn out, and regain HP to do so multiple times throughout the match. However, it is difficult to determine which of Mienfoo's many strengths are the key to its success. While it is a fantastic defensive pivot, it also possesses excellent physical bulk, making it the greatest Scraggy check in the tier. Furthermore, its high Attack stat, along with high base power options such as Hi Jump Kick, makes it a fantastic attacker. Its high speed and access to many support options such as Taunt and Knock Off make it a great Pokemon for defensive teams as well. Regardless of what you use Mienfoo for, you can be sure it will perform its role perfectly. And even if Mienfoo doesn't pull its weight, it's still absolutely adorable, making it a worthy of a team slot anyways.

The next slot is a toss up between two excellent STAB options. Drain Punch is strong and reliable; most importantly, however, is its healing effect. With Drain Punch and Regenerator, Mienfoo can frequently remain in tip top fighting condition, even after tanking hits such as Scraggy's Hi Jump Kick. Speaking of Hi Jump Kick, it can easily replace Drain Punch in this set. Hi Jump Kick has more than twice the power of Drain Punch, greatly aiding Mienfoo in gnetting KOs. Hi Jump Kick's imperfect accuracy and the threat of recoil also is not that big of a deal to Mienfoo due to its fantastic ability. Next comes U-Tturn, one of the reasons why Mienfoo is so fun to use and so annoying to play. U-Tturn allows Mienfoo to play the role of a scout and pivot, and it is what makes it such an excellent pivot. It also hits Pokemon such as Slowpoke the hardest out of any other move on this set. The last option goes to Payback, which allows Mienfoo to 2HKO Misdreavus with the given Attack investment. The above EV spread is tantamount to Mienfoo's success. With maximum Attack investment, Mienfoo hits incredibly hard, making it a rather potent offensive threat. The Defense investment and Impish nature, along with Eviolite, make it incredibly physically bulky, and allows it to check Pokemon such as Scraggy and Drilbur with impunity. The extra point in Special Defense ensures that Mienfoo is never 2HKOed by Misdreavus's Shadow Ball, while it 2HKOes in return with Payback.

Aside from the Fighting-type STAB and U-Tturn, Mienfoo's moveset is entirely up to the user. Low Sweep can replace either Drain Punch or Hi Jump Kick. When using Low Sweep, though, it is preferable to use 76 Atk / 196 Def / 236 Spe and an Impish nature. With this spread, Mienfoo hits 16 Speed, allowing it to consistently dominate Scraggy due to the sSpeed drops granted by Low Sweep. It retains its physical bulk, while only losing some of its attacking prowess. Furthermore, Fake Out or Payback can be replaced by any of Mienfoo's of other options. Stone Edge allows it to OHKO Larvesta and threaten Shelmet, which otherwise completely walk over this set. Access to Knock Off is also a boon for Mienfoo in an item-dependent tier such as Little Cup. Using Knock Off to knock offremove opposing Eviolites allows other offensive Pokemon, or even Mienfoo, to more easily attempt a sweep. Taunt is also a great move on Mienfoo, preventing Pokemon such as Hippopotas from using Stealth Rock, or Shellder from using Shell Smash.

It can switch in on anything Murkrow does barring LOife Orb Heat Wave with impunity. Likewise, it makes a pretty decent switch-in to Misdreavus, and is immediately threatening with Toxic. It can also set up Stealth Rock, which is invaluable to a Pokemon that threatens as many switches as Mienfoo does. Psychic or Earthquake quickly dispatch Croagunk, another Pokemon that threatens Mienfoo. Chinchou is also an excellent partner for Mienfoo. Specially defensive Chinchou counters Murkrow and most Misdreavus sets. Likewise, access to Volt Switch allows for a cool VoltTurn duo. Heal Bell can clear Mienfoo of any debilitating status ailments. Slowpoke makes for a fun Regenerator duo with Mienfoo, and in tandem, allows them tothe core is capable of completely manhandleing physical threats. Croagunk and Scraggy are both good checks to Pokemon such as Misdreavus and Slowpoke that give Mienfoo trouble. Furthermore, they are more easily able to do damage to the opponent's team with Mienfoo checking many of their own threats. Finally, any Pokemon that appreciates a free switch-in enjoys Mienfoo as a partner.

[SET COMMENTS]

There is not much to say about this set. With the given EV spread, Mienfoo hits 19 Attack and 16 Speed, which is 24 with the Choice Scarf. Stone Edge is Mienfoo's most powerful attack against Misdreavus, and easily dispatches Pokemon such as Larvesta or Shelmet. U-Tturn makes Mienfoo Mienfoo, and is its most powerful attack against Psychic-type Pokemon such as Abra, Slowpoke, and Solosis. Finally, the last option is a toss up.

Unfortunately, its barren Pphysical movepool gives it few other attacking moves. Access to Aerial Ace allows Mienfoo to more easily revenge Croagunk. Aside from that, Toxic can be used in the last slot, especially since it cripples Misdreavus. You can even use Taunt if you want, though it most likely won't see much use.

Choice Scarf Mienfoo adores entry hazards, and especially adores partners that can set them up for itconsistently. Cacnea, or other Grass-type Pokemon, makes a good partners for Choice Scarf Mienfoo as they areit is able to easily dispatch bulky Pokemon such as Hippopotas or Slowpoke, something Mienfoo is incapable of doing.

Access to a variety of support or set-up options and Baton Pass makes Mienfoo a prime choice for facilitating a sweep. What you pass, then, depends on the user. Mienfoo's fist of good health is particularly useful due to the 25% tax to Mienfoo's HP when using Substitute. Drain Punch +and Regenerator, then, allow Mienfoo to frequently remain healthy enough to be able to constantly use Substitute. When using Swords Dance, Hi Jump Kick's incredible power is the way to go. At +2, Mienfoo can do incrediblmassive damage with Hi Jump Kick, and might be able to save the turn it would have used Baton Pass in order to engage the opponent itself. Finally, Payback is the best move for the last slot. When behind a Substitute, then Mienfoo has an easier time taking down Misdreavus.

With the sSpeed drop that Low Sweep causes, it is much easier to successfully get the Baton Pass off and your Substitute or boosts transferred.

With +3 / +1Attack and +1 Speed, Scraggy is a monstrosity, unable to be tamed. Murkrow also makes for a good partner, as it can easily use either the Substitute or the Swords Dance to wreak havoc. Frail Pokemon such as Elekid or Abra appreciate the Substitute as it allows them to take a hit theyat would not have previously had tootherwise meant their demise. Sturdy Pokemon such as Tirtouga or Dwebble also adore the Substitute. They are then free to use Shell Smash without fear of losing Sturdy, making a sweep incredibly easy.

Furthermore, Will-oO-Wisp can completely neuter Mienfoo for the rest of the match. Murkrow, on the other hand, has access to powerful, super effective STAB on Mienfoo, which easily earns the OHKO. Without Stone Edge, Larvesta makes for an excellent Mienfoo counter, and even threatens theo burn with Flame Body. Wynaut makes for a good check for Choice Scarf Mienfoo, but must risk U-Tturn. Chlorophyll and Swift Swim sweepers threaten to outspeed Mienfoo in their corresponding weathers and hit it incredibly hard. Life Orb Horsea in the rain, for example, OHKOes with Hydro Pump.

Will be approved once OO is finished

p>To be honest, aside from the above sets, Mienfoo does not have many other things it can do. Mienfoo also has access to to Calm Mind and Bulk Up. Furthermore, Bulk Up can also be Baton Passed, to Pokemon such as Drilbur or Murkrow. Mienfoo also has access to Rain Dance, making it one of the most effective weather starters for rain teams. Finally, Mienfoo has Toxic, which can be used as a complement for more defensive teams, or for a somewhat silly Substitute / Toxic set.

A more feasible option comes in Bulk Up. Bulk Up can be set up on nearly any physical attacker, and is rather effective against Scraggy. Furthermore, Bulk Up can also be Baton Passed, to Pokemon such as Drilbur or and Murkrow. Mienfoo also has access to Rain Dance, making it one of the most effective weather starters for rain teams. Finally, Mienfoo has Toxic, which can be used as a complement for more defensive teams, or for a somewhat silly Substitute / Toxic set.

Likewise, strong special attackers, such as Choice Scarf Snover, Gastly, or and Life Orb Staryu, threaten to outspeed and 2HKO Mienfoo with their STAB moves. Drilbur is a threat in the sand, as Life Orb or Protect Eviolite variants can take down even physically defensive Mienfoo after previous damage. Without Stone Edge, Larvesta makes for an excellent Mienfoo counter provided that it lacks Stone Edge, and even threatens to burn with Flame Body. Shelmet, on the other hand, can lay down layers of Spikes with impunity, as it takes very little from any of Mienfoo's other moves, again with the exception of Stone Edge. Psychic-type Pokemon, such as Abra or and Slowpoke, threaten Mienfoo with their STAB moves and resistance to its own Fighting-type STAB.

I kinda have a problem with Bulky Attacker's EV spread. What are these 36 SpD EVs doing for you? Why won't I just dump those, along with the remaining 36 EVs, into HP, boosting Mienfoo's overall bulk? It may seem marginal but another HP point in Little Cup can sometimes be crucial.

It guarantees you are never 2HKOed by a Misdreavus Shadow Ball unless it rolls two consecutive max damages. Mienfoo is otherwise fucked by that Shadow Ball if it is put into HP.
