Default March Usage Stats and Tier Shifts

Alright! 3 months have passed since the last tier shifts and now its time for another round of shake-ups. RU was definitely hit it some places, so without further ado, here is your new RU tier.

The RU tier

Gligar is now UU
Claydol is now UU
Sharpedo is now UU
Honchkrow is now UU
Mesprit is now RU

Whoo. Some big changes here, with the top 2 Pokemon in the tier by usage leaving for the lights of UU. With Claydol gone we lose the most consistent spinner/rocker/wall in the tier, opening up gaps in plenty of teams that relied on his resistances. Honchkrow has been a polarizing force for months with its huge power, and the tier loses a big wallbreaker and sweeper with his loss. Sharpedo and Gligar as less momentuous, but they are still the best late-game sweeper and one of the best physical walls the tier had to offer, and taems will be forced to adapt with many of their prime offensive and defensive threats.

Conversely, only Mesprit jumped into the tier from NU, where it will now compete with Uxie for many roles, as a more powerful, if slightly slower version of its brethren. Leaving for NU also includes premier weather abusers Charzard, Ludicolo and Sawsbuck.

The most notable change in the stats is certainly the rise of Cofagrigus to third in the tier, on the heels of the pioneering of its hugely successful Trick Room+Nasty Plot set. With the power that it sports, Cofagrigus's popularity skyrocketed thanks to its flawless coverage and utility as a spinblocker. As with other popular Pokemon, users also used this opportunity to use its effective Calm Mind and Defensive sets, which can have the ability to beat the TR+NP sets counters.

March stats alone

Lead Stats

Not much change here, with the top Pokemon trading around spots, but the rise of Crustle as a lead is certainly interesting, showing an increased focus on hazards, possibly also rising in usage as a means to force out Uxie, who retained the top lead spot from last months usage.

1337 stats

Big changes here; Slowking plummets from the top spot to just inside the top 20 while simultaneiously manectric rises to claim the second spot, second only to Uxie who continues its dominance over the tier. Big elements of heavy offense rise to fill other spots in the top 10 including Klinklang, Lilligant and the now departed Sharpedo. And yet elements of stall and balance also populate the top 20, with hazard setters Ferroseed and Qwilfish being present, along with walls Munchlax, Slowking and Steelix. Interestingly Rapid Spinning seems to have lost importance, with only Hitmonchan and the also departed Claydol seeing prominence among the top ladderers.

How do these stats shape up as a representation of the metagame? How will the losses of Claydol, Gligar, Sharpedo and Honchkrow affect the stats? This is sure to be a tumultuous period for RU!

As we can all see we have the king of RU, Uxie. It is possibly 100x better then claydol only lacking in rapid spin and it can run 3x as many sets as claydol such Support SR, TrickScarf, Dual Screens, Weather Support, and the Infamous SubCm set.

Not surprised by the 1337 stats one bit because all 6 pokes on my team are #13 or above on the stats. (Lol sarcasm)

Manectric seems like the best scarf electric type in the tier. Being able to absorb paralyze and trick away your scarf is always good for people running Hyper offensive teams like me.
