"To arms, gentlemen! We've gathered here today to see who can be the best of the type so plain, people sometimes forget that is a thing. Well, bully to them! We have some things that they will never have: we have spunk! We have drive! And we have diversity! And so, we will lead the charge! Prepare yourself, Maxim Yarnus!"
Hello Ladies and---yeah this got old.

Erm, anyway. We are here to watch one of the three battles that will determine who will be the first Normal Type Gym Leader.

This battle is SimonSays vs Yarnus of Bethany!

SimonSays is a veteran with a pechant for good music and challenging moderators. His two goals in life are: defeat all moderators and become a Gym Leader. He is failing miserably on the first lol so he may focus more on the second. If you see how his Taillow Tsar smashed the Hall, you will see that he actually has a good shot at that.

Pay special attention to Creon the Slaking. Even though its not the case with Yarnus, most normal teams are weaker to physical attacks. Regardless, Creon is extremely strong and has a good movepool. If SimonSays can handle the loafing around (and as a player that uses Slaking as an avie, he should know) then Yarnus is in for trouble!

On one side of the field we have Yarnus of Bethany. Yarnus is a player with a clear goal in mind and 100% focus on it: he wants to be a Gym Leader. Due to that, he is preparing his Normal-Type Pokemon from the get-go: Every single one of his pokemon is of the normal type, even his first ones, something quite unusual. With this kind of experience, you can expect to see someone who knows the ins and outs of going monotype AND of the Normal Type.

Pay special attention to Pow! the Ambipom. SimonSays's team is more...mischeavous than Maxim's and here a good offense with good speed (all taunt) works like a charm and Pow! has both. A good fake out is a lot valuable in doubles and Pow's leave a good sting!

BUT ENOUGH, LET'S SEE THOSE MONS!

Team SimonSays

Slaking (Creon) [M]
Nature: Lonely [Adds One (1) Rank to Attack; Subtracts One (1) Rank from Defense]
Type: Normal
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Truant: (Trait) This Pokemon is naturally lazy, and becomes Sluggish after every normal action. This effect takes place after completing any normal (e.g. non-Sluggish) action. If this Pokemon uses a move that would inflict Sluggish, it instead becomes Exhausted for the next action. When Exhausted, its Confusion stage will not be checked and it will not hit itself in confusion during the second action. It recovers 3% energy when Exhausted. If this Pokemon uses a Combination, it becomes Sluggish or Exhausted on the action following the cooldown of the combination. Truant can be altered or shifted by Skill Swap, Role Play, Gastro Acid, or Mummy, but is not changed by Entrainment, Simple Beam, or Worry Seed.

Type: Normal / Flying
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Hustle: (Can be Enabled) This Pokemon puts immense force and speed in its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.
Serene Grace: (Innate) This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack’s secondary effects. (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt)
Super Luck (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon’s natural skill increases its critical hit levels one stage above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 25% of the time.

Abilities:
Scrappy: (Innate) This Pokemon’s Normal and Fighting attacks carry a special signature that can damage Ghosts, even if they have phased out.
Prankster: (Innate) The Pokemon is always prepared for engaging in sneaky tactics and trickery, giving its non-damaging attacks an increase in priority level.
Vital Spirit (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.

Abilities:
Colour Change: (Trait/Can be Activated) A Pokemon with this ability can change its type to that of any attack that has damaged it within the past three (3) actions. It can remain as that type for the duration of the battle, or use Color Change again to change type. When Kecleon uses Camouflage to change its type, its entire body changes color, giving it a one (1) stage boost in evasion. This effect lasts for six (6) actions. Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.
Abilities :
Adaptability: Type: Innate The moves that match this Pokemon’s type have their Base Attack Power increased by two (2).
Download: Type: Innate At the beginning of the match, the Pokemon analyzes the opponent and downloads data that lets it deal more damage. This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage boost on the offense that strikes an opponent’s weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher Defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher Special Defense. For ties, Special Attack is raised.) This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Analytic: Type: Innate If this Pokemon attacks after its target during an action, its attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

Summary: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.
Abilities:
Immunity: Type: Innate This Pokemon’s body has an immensely strong immune response to venom and does not take poison damage when Poisoned. Toxic Poisoning will not do damage; however, it will continue to grow more severe.

Thick Fat: Type: Innate This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases
its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)

Gluttony: Type: Innate This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat).

Miltank (Moo!) [F]
Nature: Adamant (+1 Atk, -1 SpA)
Type: Normal
Summary: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Thick Fat: Type: Innate This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)
Scrappy: Type: Innate This Pokemon’s Normal and Fighting attacks carry a special signature that can damage Ghosts, even if they have phased out.
Sap Sipper(locked): Type: Innate This Pokemon lives on a steady diet of plants and has developed defenses to every Grass-type attack. When attacked with a Grass-type move, damage and effects are negated and the Pokemon gains a one (1) stage attack boost. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

Ambipom(*) Pow! (M)
Nature: Adamant (Attack increased by *; Special Attack reduced by *)
Type: Normal
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Technician: Type: Innate This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.
Pick Up: (Innate) This Pokemon has a natural habit of collecting items. Whenever a hold item (its own or an opponents) is used or knocked onto the ground with a move like Knock Off, this Pokemon will immediately pick up that item without using an action. It can also grab dropped or naturally occuring hold items in arenas.

Skill Link: (Innate)(unlocked) This Pokemon’s skillfull aim makes its multi-hit moves always hit 5 times. The Energy Cost of multi-hit attacks is increased by three (3).

Round 3

If it weren't for a Full Paralysis on PorygonZ A1, things would be glorious for Yarnus this turn.

They were just good.

Simon, you better pick up some slack, as your main pokemon is kiiinda weak.

Slaking: Brick Break (PorygonZ): (8+5)*1.5 = 19.5 damage for 6 energy
Crit: 12

Kecleon: Skill Swap for 7 energy
NOTE: Since you didn't specify and Kecleon has to switch an ability of his own and the target is Slaking with only one ability, then I just traded Color Change and Truant. But you need to specify the abilities next time.

PorygonZ: Fully Paralysed

PorygonZ: Pain Split for 6 + ((125-30)-(35-19.5))/3= 32.5 energy
