Good morning, you bastards!

...and somehow I find myself in here reffing a 4v4 battle yet again.

RULES

Abilities=ALL

Arena: Ampersandium
Field Type: And/&
Complexity: Intense
Format: All

Restrictions: No Restrictions.

Description: Here at the Ampers&ium, there is a big & in the middle of the arena, which looks like the ASB Tournament Arena, but what goes on in the arena is heavily influenced by this &. Basically, what this & does is buff everything with & in its name, by move, species, ability, & item. No nicknames, though. Otherwise, go nuts with that Rank 16 Attack Choice B& Rampardos you have always dreamed of using, or that Hippowdon/Excadrill combination for lots of & fun! ^_^

Mechanics:

  • The Ampersand in the arena creates an aura which buffs everything with "and" in its name.
    • The Moves: Helping-Hand, Sand-Attack, Sandstorm, & Sand Tomb, all cost 1 less Energy to execute.
    • The Pokémon: Chandelure, Charmander, Landorus, Mandibuzz, Sandile, Sandshrew, Sandslash, & Stoutland, have the EC of all their moves reduced by 1.
    • The following Abilities get the following buffs:
      • Sand Force now boosts the power of Rock/Ground/Steel-Type moves by 3.
      • Sand Rush now triples the Pokémon's Speed.
      • Sand Stream costs 3 less Energy to activate.
      • Sand Veil's 20% Evasion boost is now flat.
    • The following Items get the following buffs:
      • Binding Band now triples the residual damage dealt by trapping moves.
      • Choice Band now doubles the holder's Attack.
      • Focus Band's -2 BAP effect now applies at all times irrespective of the holder's HP.
      • Muscle Band now increases the BAP of Physical attacks by 2.
      • Power Band no longer halves the holder's Speed & now triples the Sp. Defence boost.
      • RageCandyBar's boost is now permanent until the Pokémon switches out.
      • Rare Candy increases the highest true base stat of Atk/Def/SpA/SpD by a further Rank, & the increase to the BAP of STAB moves is increased by a further 1 BAP.
      • Soft Sand now increases the final damage of Ground-Type attacks by 6.
Summary: <~Onion_Bubs> I think you mean "Ampers&ium"

Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.

Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Passive
The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its actual weight. Adds two (2) Base Attack Power to all Weight-Based Attacks. Adds Base Attack Power to Gyro Ball equal to half (0.5x) the Pokemon's Weight Class, rounded up.

For the record... This is just the regular Ampersandium.

"Well this seems like an appropriate dress for the occasion! Good luck Complications, but the counter-team was a little bit unexpected to say the least... Alrightio then. Stortamus, get this engine started!"

Stortamus (M) @ Soft Sand

"I won't deny, I contemplated bringing the likes of Arghonaut and friends, but decided against it. The more challenge I face, the tougher I'll get. Good luck IAR!"

Thorn @ Power Bracer
"Sandslash? I told you we should have brought Baal, moron."
Swords Dance-Power Whip-Seed Bomn
If Hippowdon uses a Switch-Forcing move, use Ingrain and push actions down, but only once.
If Hippowdon uses Double Team, use Bulldoze on the first instance, Aerial Ace on the second, and Bulldoze on the third, and push actions down.

[box]Round 1

Complications bravely declares that he's made the fight harder on himself than he could've, stating the more challenge he faces the tougher he'll get. It seems his first challenge will be subject-verb agreement. Meanwhile, IAR's usage of exclamation marks from his first to second posts seems to have decreased by 100%; perhaps this battle is just too boring for him to use exclamation marks.

Anyways, Stortamus snorts his way into the arena and immediately alters the arena into something more to his liking—a nice gigantic sand pit with sand flying everywhere. He'd be a pretty horrid playmate for children everywhere around the world. The Hippowdon then sends rather frightening tremors through the ground, heavily damaging Thorn, who remains still and powers itself up with the aid of a Swords Dance attack and its Power Bracer, an item that rarely sees use.

Unfortunately, those Attack boosts never help Thorn here, as Stortamus digs a bunch of holes that would make even an Excadrill proud, managing to avoid all two of the Ferrothorn's attacks. Naturally he surfaces after each one, slamming into Thorn as hard as he possible can, boosted by Sand Force, Soft Sand, and the slightly broken ampersand statue thing in the middle. It's still early in the match, though, so there might be a chance for him to catch up.[/box]

Complications is able to (slightly) pull the match back, rendering Stortamus' two Earthquake attacks useless with a well-timed Magnet Rise. Despite getting a critical Power Whip off on the gigantic hippo, it appears still that Thorn is on the losing side of this matchup; the combination of Sand Force and Soft Sand is truly terrifying.[/box]

Ampersandium causes Rare Candy to boost Brinzong's defenses to R6 and increase his STABs by 2, so the Earth Powers should do 18 damage each and Bronzong's Psychic should do 16.5.

@Engineer Pikachu: Hippowdon took enough damage A2 to snap out of confusion next action. Also, Bronzong used Protect A3. i.e. Hippowdon should be still alive & Bronzong should have a lot less EN.

"Very well then. We will mark you by swapping to Sleast @ Rare Candy! Time to floor this opponent!"

Switch Phase: Stortamus > Sleast

Earth Power > Mud Shot > Earth Power
IF
Metal Burst is issued as part of a combination, AND you are not Taunted, AND you do not have a Substitute up, THEN use Substitute (15 HP) that action.
IF Optimus has Double Team clones up when you act, THEN use Surf that action.
