Quarantine Mafia Postgame Wrap Up!

Quarantine Mafia was my second basic mafia and it was supposed to be more balanced than my last venture, Elements Mafia. Because of the open theme, I was allowed pretty much free reign on the types of roles that I wanted in the game. The first basis of the game was Dexter, that was the first role that I had created and I eventually used him to mold the rest of the game. Due to Dexter’s amazing abilities, the village was fairly small compared to the 26 total players, with only 13 official members. Dexter was made so that he would be an extremely powerful role, but one that the village couldn’t ever reasonably trust due to the surprise factor and Doakes. The original count for the game was 29 players, but I toned it down to 26 so I had to take out a role from the Assassins, which forced me to give them more powerful roles than the Black Sheep. The power plays, in my opinion, were pretty balanced. The Black Sheep had the most restricted power play, then the Assassins, and then the Village people had the most open power play. Though the Village complained that I put too many restrictions on that ability, there was certainly no way I could allow certain rules to be modified to the extent that they wanted it to be. The Lex Luthor role was made to create general chaos, but it was not designed to hurt any of the roles, it was pretty much a fun role thrown in there to spice things up.

The Village People
The Village People were 13 characters (not including Dexter) that while small compared to the size of the game, they were fairly powerful for a village in terms of roles. Most of the roles were designed so that even if the Village People lost a crucial power role, they would have something to make up for it and if the Village People could set up early, they would have extremely powerful roles that could end the opposing mafias/wolf faction easily. To balance this, the village did not have a hooker at the start (foreshadowed by the death of Red Foreman) of the game, but they could acquire the ability to hook, given the right circumstances. (Ratings are from 1-10 and are completely objective, 5 is average)

Dear CardsOfTheHeart,
You are Lieutenant Horatio Caine.
horatio460.jpg

As the leader of the Miami's leading crime lab, you have seen and done it all. You have many cliches like saying one-liners, wearing your Shades of Justice (Justice Shades), and cocking your head to a side when talking to people. Your persistence and almost stubborn way of investigating has made you Miami's own version of Batman, except without the mask(unless you count shades) or alter ego. Ever since the city was swallowed up by the Swine Flu, the bulk of the police force has died, leaving you as the top police authority in the city. Every time you post in the thread you must say a one-liner or you will lose your mojo which powers your investigative skills.

During the night, you will use your investigative prowess to separate the Village People from the two rival gangs. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Investigate User". That night you will watch that User's every move and make a few "phone calls" which will allow you to get their role pm by the end of the night.

You are also wearing the Shades of Justice, they don't do anything, but you look pretty bad ass with them on.

You are also aware of another cop, the last remnant of the Miami Homicide Department, Sergeant James Doakes: Lesm46

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
Horatio Caine was the standard village inspector role, however, it was given the knowledge of another character in the game, Doakes who was the paranoid inspector. It also had the Shades of Justice, which was the only item in the game that could stop neuralyzation, which actually occurred when Veedrock stole them from Stoo/CyzirVisheen and was targeted for termination by Toothache (he was eventually killed by being targeted the next night).

Overall CardsOfTheHeart and his partner Lesm46 played their roles horribly. I had originally intended for the these 2 roles to be a basic platform of unity for the village. Unfortunately, Lesm46 misinterpreted his role and CardsOfTheHeart played badly by acting suspicious at the start of the game which almost got him lynched by his own team (that would have been really sad). CardsOfTheHeart was able to clear Stoo/CyzirVisheen with his inspection, but he was deemed a threat by Fishin and eliminated using Thorn’s Trial ability. (He was also hooked n1, since Fishin knew he was the village inspector).

Dear Earthworm,
You are Doctor Gregory House
HouseMD.jpg

As the leading diagnostician in the country and you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Instead of checking out gorgeous babes and tanning on the beach, you are now in the festering shit-hole called Miami, what a waste of a vacation. Normally you would not give a damn about the sufferings of common man, but your friend (perhaps only friend ever) James Evan Wilson was killed in a gang drive-by. Saddened by his death, you have decided to assist the Village People with your talented skills, unfortunately you are the only living and licensed medical doctor alive in Miami so you have your work cut out for you. Whenever you post in the thread you must make a sarcastic comment directed toward the player (I do not count) that posted before you, if you do not do this your world will crash around you and you will be unable to practice medicine anymore.

As the only doctor in town you have all the medical provisions a doctor could ever need. During the night you many send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Diagnose User", if that User were to be killed that night, you will use your medical knowledge to save his/her life, unless it's lupus (but it's never lupus so don't worry about it).

You also have to serve clinic hours (solely to heal people from the Swine Flu and other "problems) during the day so you are not going anywhere anytime soon. During the day you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Day X - Perform Clinic Duty On User", if that person were to have an illnesses or have contracted the Swine Flu you will be able to soften its side effects, but not cure it (there is no cure). Be aware that even if you cure someone of Swine Flu they will still be able to pass it on, meaning you will be infected as well. Failure to send in your pm will cause Cuddy to get on your ass and leave you too busy to perform any actions during the night.

You are also holding a bottle of Vicodin. You don't really need Vicodin anymore, but it's always great to have some around. If any user holding the bottle of Vicodin were to be killed during the night, instead of dying that night they will instead die at the end of the next day.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
House was a key figure in the village, being one of the main ways to stop the Swine Flu and the main way to provide Sikh the operation that he needed (3 ways to do that: clinic, diagnose, give vicodin). He also had some pretty bad restrictions with the posting of sarcasm and insults and the inability to not send a day pm. This unfortunately got in the way of how the role was utilized.

Earthworm played the game fairly well, in the sense that he was not fooled by Fishin’s BPV claim of Ichigo Kurasaki. However, due to time scheduling conflicts he was unable to send his day pm several times and ended up being hooked for stupid reasons. Unfortunately, even though he was suspicious of Fishin’s role, he had already revealed his role to him and was therefore at his mercy. At that point, the Assassins also had a pretty good bead on the villager’s roles so they decided to eliminate Earthworm from the game (in my opinion this was a bad move) with the Two Pines Massacre Power Play. I gave this role to Earthworm primarily cause I wanted to see him insult someone, unfortunately he failed MISERABLY!

Dear Pyromanic,
You are Peter Petrelli.
heroes3-milo.jpg

Yes, the leading character of the NBC show Heroes, you are a whiny bitch that likes to get "emotional". Unfortunately, for you, your dad has taken away your powers so you are currently powerless. Yep, I bet you thought you had a great role, but no you're pretty much useless (a filler villager so to speak). Saddened by the loss of your powers, you have ran away from New York to start a new life in Miami, of course you did not know that it was going to be drowned in the Swine Flu and quarantined by the US Government. You are a male nurse which is probably why you will be assisting the Village People in trying to stop the Swine Flu from killing everybody. For the time being you have no powers, but if you were to get your hands on a specific item you may be able to get your old powers back or at least a nerfed version of it (hint hint).

You are holding the Swine Flu Vaccine. However, the name does not serve the item's purpose, as it does not actually stop that person from being a carrier of the Swine Flu, but it does soften its effects (like NyQuil). Be aware that if you try to vaccinate a person with the Swine Flu you will contract it as well. As long as you hold the Swine Flu Vaccine you can send a pm to blue_light stating "Day X - Vaccinate User".

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
The Peter Petrelli role, was just a ordinary villager that could become an extraordinary villager. He started off with the Flu Vaccine, which basically mimicked the results that House would have achieved if he cured someone of Swine Flu. The role was a fairly powerful one, but in my opinion was the weaker of the power-induced villagers. If he was ever injected, he would have the ability to touch someone during the day. At the end of the day, they will be able to mimic that person’s abilities. If he ever touched another person, he would lose his previous abilities and gain the new person’s abilities instead.

I did not see Pyromanic in the game much, nor on IRC. Unfortunately, none of the Power Syringe heroes were ever injected, so they never really had a chance to make a contribution to the game.

Dear Lonelyness,
You are Beatrix Kiddo (aka Black Mamba).
beatrix+kiddo.jpg

Former assassin turned bride turned coma patient turned awakened coma patient turned vengeful vigilante. Yep, you are the main character of the two Kill Bill films. You are an accomplished martial artist and swordsman knowledgeable of certain forbidden techniques like the "Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique", you are also motivated by revenge which is always a great fuel to run on. You originally came to Miami to kill Bill, but you have now found a greater purpose in helping the Village People clean the streets of Miami with your unique set of skills.

Unfortunately, you have lost your Hattori Hanzo sword during a fight with some rowdy gang members, so you will be unable to accomplish getting your revenge until you find it. You are, however, a very sturdy person that has survived more than once from the brink of death. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Stalk User". If that User or any of his/her compatriots decide to kill you, you will be able to brace yourself for the worst and survive the attack, albeit in a coma. Two nights later you will wake from your coma, thirsty for revenge.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
This role was primarily a reusable rogue role with the minor chance of getting vigilante abilities. I gave the Hattori Hanzo Sword to the Assassins mainly because the village already had a vigilante in Dexter and I did not want the village to be able to kill more often than an individual mafia can.

Lonelyness got this role because I admit I was afraid people were going to have a grudge and kill him (the chance that he could find his killer was low, but I had to give the man a chance). He played the role fairly well, but unfortunately the village was moled heavily with spies everywhere. While it’s not Lonelyness’ fault that the village was completely outmaneuvered, he was one of the village leaders and is therefore responsible for the village’s loss. I also believe his eagerness to prove himself after Simpsons mafia, was what led him to believe in Fishin’s false claim and Gmax’s.

Dear Serenity,
You are Gabriel Gray.
future-sylar_521x347.jpg

Before I say anything else, no you will not be killing people in this game, boo hoo. A boring and naive watchmaker turned evil serial killer turned stay-at-home dad, you are Gabriel Gray, the responsible single parent that wants to hide his past. You came to Miami with your son Noah, to start a new life, but that was before the arrival of the Swine Flu and the quarantine that followed. Your son Noah was taken from you by the Swine Flu and you have decided to help the Village People fight off the power-hungry gangs and prevent the Swine Flu from spreading further. You have, however, sworn off the usage of all your powers except for one (your ability to see how things work), lest the Hunger take over you like it did before. However, if you are ever inspected you will show up as the serial killer from your old days.

Using your power, Intuitive Aptitude, you can see how things and even how people work. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Learn How User Ticks". By the end of the night you will know what kind of abilities that person has and what kind of abilities any of his/her items may have (not the names of that person's abilities or items).

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
If Inspected:
Dear Serenity,
You are Sylar (aka Patient Zero).
You are a thief, scoundrel, and most of all a murderer. A serial killer powered by the Hunger, you live for the thrill of getting powers and killing others who oppose your goal of world domination. You came to Miami looking for a particular cheerleader and her overprotective horn-rimmed glasses wearing adoptive father. Once you find her you will cut off the top of her head and acquire her regenerative abilities and become invincible.

To acquire powers you must have time, patience, and a surgeon's precision. If you do not have a victim ready to be harvested then during the night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Pin Down User". That night you will use your telekinesis acquired from Brian Davis, to pin your victim to a wall where you will interrogate them. While you have a person kidnapped, during the night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Kill". That night you go to your trapped victim and cut off the top of his/her skull and acquire his/her abilities, which you will then be able to use yourself. If during the night you are somehow prevented from killing your victim, you will become alarmed and run away, releasing your victim at the beginning of the day. Your victims will also be hidden in plain sight, meaning the authorities will never find them. If you do not send in your required pms the Hunger will take over your mind and will result in your suicide.

You win if you are the last person alive in the game.
Perhaps one of the village’s best roles (even better than regular inspection since it goes through moling abilities), Gabriel Gray was my way of including one of my favorite Heroes characters without having to put a psychopath in the game. The ability that he used was certainly very useful and would be able to not only prove people’s abilities but also find out if they have any untold items in their possession and what those items did (in the case of Scylla and the Shades of Justice, Gabriel Gray would reveal their true powers).

Serenity played a pretty good game, being wary of the right people and inspecting the right people. Serenity was able to inspect Hipmonlee and get his true powers and not his fake role pm which would have gotten him lynched immediately. She was also redirected to Veedrock which was able to break his false claim of dead talker and identify him as a mafia thief. Overall, Serenity was one of the better players that the village had to offer.

Dear Lesm46,
You are Sergeant James Doakes.
20090402-IamWatchingyou.jpg

An ex-Special Forces operative turned detective, you were about to solve the Bay Harbor Butcher case, until everything went to hell. With most of the Miami's finest dead from gang violence and the Swine Flu, you have decided to pair yourself up with Miami's greatest investigator of all time, Horatio Caine, to save the city of Miami. However, as much as saving the people of Miami sounds great, you can not seem to focus away from the Bay Harbor Butcher case. With that serial killer out there, there is no way you can concentrate on anything else, so you must find him and put an end to his evil ways once and for all. Unfortunately, you are also a suspect in the Bay Harbor Butcher case meaning if you are ever inspected you will be appear to be the Bay Harbor Butcher.

To find the Bay Harbor Butcher you will use time and your investigative skills to root him out. Every night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Stake Out User". That night you will be able to determine his or her role pm from your observations. Failure to try to find the Bay Harbor Butcher will result in you becoming even more obsessed with the case, causing you to become suicidal.

You also possess a Dragon Skin Kevlar. You don't go anywhere without it these days in fear that the Bay Harbor Butcher will get you. This state of the art armor, will be able to save you from death during the night, but only once since the ceramic plates break up after facing traumatic force. You cannot give away your Dragon Skin Kevlar until the Bay Harbor Butcher is dead, you cannot take that chance.

You know the identity of Lieutenant Horatio Caine: CardsOfTheHearts

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win and the Bay Harbor Butcher is put to rest.
If he was inspected or Dexter was inspected or anyone that he inspected, they would both have shown up as:
Dear User,
You are the Bay Harbor Butcher.
dexter_wall_04_800x600.jpg

You are a very sick, sick man. Prowling the streets of Miami, you live for the death of all civilization. In many ways you are a menace to society and due to your upbringing you have become a hardened individual. You work in the Miami Homicide Department and because of this you have been able to cast suspicion off yourself. Due to the outbreak of Swine Flu, everybody has forgotten about you, all the better for you now since the police forces of Miami are all but dead.

If you do not have a captured victim already then during the night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Rape and Kidnap User". That night you will stalk your victim and then proceed to rape him/her before injecting them with a syringe of animal tranquilizer and carting them off to your murder house. Whenever you have a victim kidnapped, you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Murder". That night you will pull out your saw and cut your victim into pieces before putting their remains in a black trash bag and dumping it at your new hiding spot. If you are ever prevented from killing your victim, you will bolt from the vicinity which will cause the victim to be released at the beginning of the day. Failure to send in your pms will cause your blood lust to take over and cause you to commit suicide.

You win if you are the last person alive.
Doakes was the paranoid inspector (anyone he inspected showed up as the Bay Harbor Butcher) counter to Dexter and was a way to balance the power of Dexter. Because he was knowledgeable of the real village inspector, Dexter would be unable to claim outright his real role without having opposition from Doakes. If Dexter was ever put to rest while Doakes was alive, Doakes would become unparanoid and would be able to check alliances and arrest people for the night. He also had the Dragon Skin Kevlar, which was designed to make the user skeptical of their inspector status and allow the Village to have a nice focal point for unification (BPV and with knowledge of the village inspector).

Lesm46 played his role fairly badly. In my opinion, he should have communicated with CardsOfTheHeart more and should have done talking for the pair instead of having them both go out trying to recruit people. Also, Lesm46 did not realize that he was the paranoid inspector until I told him so after his death, which in my opinion he should have been at least suspicious of. Not only did he fail to see that he was the paranoid inspector, Lesm46 also let Fishin walk all over him and claim his real role (BPV) and almost let his partner get lynched in the process. However, if anything, Lesm46 was killed off by the mafia N1 due to the fact that everybody thought that he was the inspector.

Dear Phantasia/Hobo Joe,
You are Senator Nathan Petrelli.
heroess2adrian.jpg

Accomplished and selfish, you are the brother of Peter Petrelli and the junior US senator of New York. You have the ability to fly at super sonic speeds and some random ability to shield your skin, clothes, and eyes from being torn apart by the wind. You came to Miami to find your estranged brother Peter, who ran away from New York after he lost his powers. Unfortunately Miami has been quarantined and you are now stuck here until the Swine Flu passes. By aiding the Village People you hope to find your brother Peter and show the press that you are a true American hero (who doesn't like a senator that can kick ass and be a good politician?), no doubt it will make your approval rating go up.

As a "special" person, you have ability to fly at supersonic speeds, this will help greatly in your efforts to save the Village People. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Fly Around User". During that night you will pester your target by flying circles around him/her until he/she is forced to target you instead of their intended target (if they use an ability that night).

Also, due to your standing as a US senator when the time comes for a lynch your vote will count as two.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
As a way to condense the roles of the village, I decided to put the martyr and mayor role into one, since I always believed that the martyr role was fairly weak in forum games so I decided to give it a buff. Nathan Petrelli, was yet another Heroes character in a game that had 4. He was also given the knowledge that Peter Petrelli was in the game, which should have helped the village unite faster.

Hobo Joe pretty much idled while he was playing and Phantasia was not able to do anything before he was killed off by the Black Sheep (They thought that Phantasia was actually a member of the Assassins). Not much to say, except that they weren’t fully trusted by the village and that is what eventually led to their downfall.

Dear Fishy,
You are Dave Chappelle.
Im_RickJames_Bitch.jpg

Perhaps one the funniest black comedians of all time, your movies such as "Half Baked" and your skit show "The Chappelle Show" has skyrocketed you into fame. That is of course until you gave up a 55 million dollar contract and decided to forgo a third season of "The Chappelle Show". Hiding from the media and your naysayers, you decided to have your vacation at Miami. What a big mistake that was, instead of relaxing you are stuck in the middle of a city in flames breathing air that would not be breathable with out some serious purification. However, you have decided to help the Village People in their effort to save Miami. When posting in the thread you must say a joke about race, failure to say a joke will cause people to find you unfunny and will result in your expulsion from the Village People.

You can not do much in terms of physical actions, but you do have a (in)famous skit that you can always fall back on. Once in the game during the day or the night you may proclaim in the thread "I'm Rick James Bitch!", if you do that you may send a pm to me stating "Day/Night X - Screw the Rules (Modified Rule)". In your pm under "Modified Rule" you must state 1 rule from rules list and have it modified to suit your needs. That rule will be changed for that day or night that you posted "I'm Rick James Bitch!", the new modified rule will be posted in the thread alerting everyone of its change. Certain rules cannot be modified or can only be modified to a degree, so you should consult me beforehand on what rule you want to change and how you want to change it before activating it.

You are holding a Power Syringe. While holding the Power Syringe you can send a pm during the day to blue_light stating "Day X - Inject User". The Power Syringe can only be used once and only gives powers to people that are compatible with the formula. If you inject a person with the Power Syringe that is incompatible with the formula, the Power Syringe will be wasted.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win and you have modified the rules at least once.
The Dave Chappelle role, was a role that I really wanted to use in Elements Mafia, but ended up being scrapped. However, in this mafia I was able to include this ability since each faction had their own “power play”. Of all the power plays, Dave Chappelle had the best power play provided it had some creativity with it. It also had the Power Syringe which was the only one the game unless Superman died. Fishy did not use the Power Syringe which was a bad move on her part as it would have greatly increased the abilities of one of the villagers. It also hooked anyone that was not compatible with the formula.

Fishy was able to use the ability to nerf the kills for one night and provide the village with some protection and information for free during the night. However, all this did was piss of the Assassins who lost their kill for the night and caused them to respond back with their 2 Pines Massacre ability. Overall, Fishy was a bit too trusting with the spreadsheet and ended up revealing all of Fishin’s hard earned information to Gmax.

Dear SikhAssassin,
You are Michael Scofield.
2ztj4bd.jpg

No man has ever built a cage that can keep you in or out. You break into secured places for fun and you break out of prisons for the lols, you are Michael Scofield the engineering genius that has caused the Company so much trouble. Soft-spoken at times, you have learned that the world is a harsh place, you came to Miami to find Scylla and you have found it, but now you are stuck in Miami with no way out. You have decided to help the Village People in saving Miami so that you can get out as soon as possible and bring down the Company. Unfortunately, you have a condition called hypothalamic hamartoma, basically a bunch of tumors in your head. If you do not get medical attention from a doctor or at a local clinic by Night 4 you will slip into a coma where you will be unable to perform day/night actions or talk in the thread.

No one has been ever been able to build a safe you could not crack or a prison that you could not break out of, because of this if you are ever kidnapped you will be able to escape your kidnappers without breaking a sweat. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Take items from User1 and give them to User2". During the night you will break into User1's home and bypass their security easily and be able to acquire their items with ease, you will then be able to transfer those items to User2 (you can be User2).

You are also holding Scylla (an over-elaborate memory stick containing plans for a new type of solar energy cell and satellite laser system), unfortunately since you do not have the reader for Scylla it is useless to you, but someone else may be able to access this information.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
Michael Scofield was a spin on the normal thief in which items are can be taken from one user and given to another. This is the same role that I gave moot in Elements Mafia and again it has a purpose because it allows you to take items from certain people like CyzirVisheen/Stoo or Lesm46 who have unmovable items or item restrictions which will allow you to move items around more efficiently meanwhile also providing the village with a thief if need be. The coma part of the role was inspired by Shade’s role in President Mafia and since Michael Scofield does have tumors in his head it actually makes a bit of sense. Scylla was a very interesting item in that it’s true purpose was completely hidden unless examined by Gabriel Gray. If Starscream, HK-47, or Nathan Petrelli got their hands on Scylla they would have increased abilities. Starscream could use both of his abilities on the same night, HK-47 could deploy two minefields instead of one (stack them or protect two targets), and Nathan Petrelli would get 3 votes instead of 2.

Sikh Assassin did not play the role as I intended and ended up going into a coma. In my opinion, he should have been a bit more open earlier about his disease and should have chosen better targets, as his only contribution to the game was take the kryptonite from Superman, who ended up dying before he could even really use his ability.

Dear Jedil,
You are Captain America (aka James Buchanan Barnes).
captain-america-with-gun-from-washington-post.jpg

No, you are not the Captain America that was the only successful recipient of the Super Soldier Serum, instead you are the new shitty version of Captain America. You do not have any peak human abilities, but you do have Captain America's Shield and since you used to be Winter Soldier, a gun. You came to Miami to stop the growing gang violence, but you did not know that the advent of the Swine Flu would leave you trapped here. Alas, you have allied yourself with the Village People to stop the gangs from destroying Miami from the inside out. You may not be as good as the old Captain America, but you do have some interesting abilities and items.

As a masked superhero you are a protector of Justice, which means that you are prepared to put your body on the line for the greater good. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Shield User". During that night any abilities or items that would have gone to that person will instead be directed towards you. In the event you are ever seriously wounded, you will bite down on a poison capsule killing yourself which will kill you within seconds (we do not want those damn gangsters interrogating you do we?)

You also possess the Shield of Captain America, without much practice with the shield or superhuman strength you have decided that you should use it like a weapon. While you hold the Shield of Captain America you may send a pm during the day stating "Day X - Throw Shield at User". At the end of the day you will throw the Shield of Captain America at the brigand and that player will be stunned for the following night. However that person will also receive the Shield of Captain America so use the Shield wisely.

You also possess a Gun, but since everybody in Miami has crazy character shields your gun will not be used for killing. Instead if you were to ever get your hands on a bullet, the possessor of the gun and the bullet will be incapable of being lynched, but it will use up the bullet.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
Captain America was a reverse martyr and the traditional bodyguard. He was the village’s best protection role besides House, simply because it could protect his target from a variety of ailments ranging from hooking, kidnapping, and thieving. This was fairly important role that got even stronger if it got its hands on the Dragon Skin Kevlar (he couldn’t be protected by the doctor), or if left without any items he can easily protect the scavenger from thieves.

Jedil did not like his role at all, even though it was a very important role (he thought I was out to get him, maybe I was XD). He was fairly unfortunate since he ended up protecting Lesm46 who was double targeted, so he died and his target died to no avail.

Dear CyzirVisheen/Stoo,
You are James "Sawyer" Ford.
Sawyer.jpg

An opportunist, you are a conniving and sarcastic individual that is affixed with the idea that the world is based on the Survival of the Fittest. However, you are not a bad person at heart. At times you have done what is right, but it does not make you any less selfish. After leaving the Island, you came to Miami to start a new life away from the Jacks, Kates, Hurleys, and Lockes of the world, but of course you have stumbled from one hornet's nest to the next. You have, however, decided to help the Village People if only for the safety in numbers.

Possessions are a man's best friend, at least that is what you think. Whenever a person dies you will always be the first person at the scene grabbing any goodies that person may have. However, you are greedy so you do not give away your items willingly (at first). If you ever want to give an item it will take a complete day/night cycle for that person to get the item, while that day/night cycle is going on the item will still be in your possession.

You are also holding Fake Jewellery. It is a remnant of your past as a con man, but it will do some good in this scenario. While you hold the Fake Jewellery you may send a pm to blue_light during the day stating "Day X - Con User". Any items that user may have will be given to you in exchange for the Fake Jewellery, if the person does not have any items they will pay you in cash instead (too bad cash is worthless). The Fake Jewellery can only be used a set amount of times before everyone will catch on to its trick.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.
Standard scavenger role except with an item moving restriction, which was due to the sheer amount of items in the game and the power of some of the items in the game. This provided the mafia a chance to get their items back in case one of their members died, but the village also had a few tools to prevent thieving and to move the items off Sawyer before they could be touched by thieves.

Stoo was pretty busy with his mafia, so he was pretty idle and was also very suspicious of the village leadership so he ended up hoarding his items which were eventually stolen by Veedrock. Due to Stoo’s relative inactivity I subbed him out for CyzirVisheen, who was able to acquire the Blackmail Documents and some other items which were then stolen by Jimbo (who owned most of the items in the game). CyzirVisheen did not have much options in the end as the game was mostly sealed by the time he was subbed in.

Dear TehPiplupMan,
You are Superman (aka Clark Kent).
superman.jpg

Perhaps the greatest hero the world has ever seen you are "The Man of Steel", "The Man of Tomorrow", and "The Last Son of Krypton", you go by all those names yet none has stuck as well as Superman. You have no weaknesses to anything except for small pieces of green space rock, but hey who has the time to dig through meteorites to find these things. Not only are you impervious to all physical damage you also have a wide arsenal of abilities like frost breath, laser beam eyes, super strength, super speed, and the power of flight. You came to Miami initially as Clark Kent to investigate the outbreak of Swine Flu, but that is about the only thing you remember. Now the city has been quarantined and you have banded with the Village People to save Miami, unfortunately you're in a bit of a pickle. During the night, someone duct taped a chunk of Kryptonite to your forehead. As long as that Kryptonite is there you are powerless.

You are holding (not exactly) a chunk of Kryptonite. While you hold the chunk of Kryptonite (this only affects you), you will be unable to post in the thread, give away items, receive items, or perform any abilities. If you were to somehow get this chunk of Kryptonite out of your possession, you will be able to fight crime once again.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village people win and you get rid of the Kryponite from your possession.
Superman was the back-up role for the Village and was one of the strongest roles in the game, albeit with a really big weakness. His default ability upon the loss of the kryptonite was Ice Breath, which could freeze people for the night (hook). If Earthworm died then Superman would have the ability to fly a user into the sky preventing them from harm during the night. If CardsOfTheHeart died, then Superman could use his alias as Clark Kent to inspect a user during the night using his reporting skills. Finally, if Hobo Joe/Phantasia died then Superman could fight crime during the night by forcing his target to target him with their night actions. Superman could only use one ability during the night and he was unable to target anyone that held the kryptonite which would result in him possessing the kryptonite once again. Also if anyone with the kryptonite targeted Superman, the Kryptonite would jump back to him and leave him useless.

TehPiplupMan played a pretty solid game with his role early on in the game. Unfortunately, like the rest of the village he trusted the wrong people and ended up getting killed after his kryptonite was removed. Once he died, the kryptonite was replaced with another Power Syringe which could then be used on either Ando or Peter Petrelli to give the village another power role.

Dear Arcticblast,
You are Ando Masahashi.
heroes-ando-masahashi-f.jpg

Once the perverted sidekick/friend of Hiro Nakamura, you have decided to forge your own destiny without Hiro in America. Unfortunately you do not have any abilities yet, but you do know that you are compatible with the formula that gives normal people extraordinary abilities. Working initially as a janitor at a Miami public school, you have decided to help the Village People after the Swine Flu infected and killed 93% of the population (it's almost like the Shanti Virus).

You are currently holding a Bullet, to you this item means nothing, but if you were to get your hands on a gun you might be able to make use of it.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village people win.
Ando was the weakest role of the village, with only a subpar item (the bullet). He also had a relatively short role pm which casted suspicion on him due to the numerous amounts of Heroes characters in the game. If Ando was injected with the Power Syringe he would acquire two day abilities, but he could only use one. Ando could either choose to shoot a hadouken at a User and hook them for the night or he can choose to super charge a user and boost their night abilities during the night.

Arcticblast was the only player in the game that did not have IRC. Due to the lack of IRC, he had no real communication with anybody besides sending his role pm to Fishin, which eventually led to the lynch of Macle who tried to capitalize on Arcticblast’s inability to communicate with anybody effectively. With the death of Macle, Arcticblast was released in which he ended up trying to lynch the village rogue and pretty much failing at even following the simplest of orders.

The Black Sheep
The Black Sheep were a 5 man mafia which was probably the most powerful faction in the game, due to their ability to neutralize up to 3 roles a night and take out several votes using their kidnapping abilities and the Blackmail Documents. The Black Sheep were able to get tons of useful early information with Fishin, but they were unable to capitalize on this due to having many of their member being suspects for lynches and targets for kills during the night.

Kenpachi Zaraki [Martyr/one-time BPV]
Dear Fishin,
You are Captain Kenpachi Zaraki.
7bfb82016828c0_full.jpg

You are the Captain of the Eleventh squad of the Gotei Thirteen. As a shinigami (Soul Reaper) of Soul Society you have been sent by the Old Man himself (Yamamoto), to investigate the large amount of deaths that have occurred in Miami. You have become caught in the wave of killing and have succumbed to your need to find and kill worthy enemies. Due to your sociopath tendencies you have already killed all the Cubans in Miami (I guess you do not like them very much) and have decided to join up the with "The Black Sheep" to find even more foes to kill. As a person that loves to battle you give your opponent a variety of advantages from brandishing your zanpakuto with one hand, wearing bells in your hair, and wearing a special eye patch to bring yourself down to your opponent's level.

During the night you will try to seek fights with people and because of your nature you must always be fighting during the night. Every night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Initiate Combat with User". Failure to send a pm will cause you to be bored and return to Soul Society. During the night you will assault your target and force them to target you with any night abilities that they may have been using that night. You cannot fight the same person twice in a row, cause that would be pretty boring.

You are also suppressing your power since you are wearing your reiatsu eating eye-patch. If any person were to ever deliver you a fatal blow, your eyepatch will be knocked off and you will become invigorated with power causing your wounds to heal, this will only work once.

On Even Nights you may send a vote to elect one member of the Black Sheep to kill a target. To send a vote you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Sending User to kill User". The chosen killer can choose how to kill their target, as long as it is possible for their character to perform such an action (eg Manfred Von Karma cannot telekinetically tear a human apart with his mind).

The other members of the Black Sheep are:
Mr. Edward Hyde, Veedrock
Starscream, Lady Platina
Manfred Von Karma, Thorns
Rogue, Annihilator Zero

You are allied with the Black Sheep. You win if the Black Sheep win.
Kenpachi Zaraki was a traditional martyr with an untraditional BPV ability. Due to the nature of his BPV ability, he was immune to the effects of neuralyzation once. Perhaps out of all the roles in the Black Sheep, this was the weakest ability, but a very important one none the less. It was able to provide Fishin with a very nice false claim in Ichigo Kurasaki and the BPV ability to back it up.

Fishin played the best game out of all the Black Sheep and was their undesignated leader. With his leadership and experience he was able to unite the village and acquire the village spreadsheet (he even helped fill it out). Unfortunately, due to last minute lynch changes, Fishin was unable to capitalize with his influence on the village to take out the Village Inspector or Village OMGWTFBBQ role. His persistence in trying to lynch Hipmonlee eventually led the Assassins, Earthworm, and Hipmonlee to suspect him of being mafia. In one night, the Assassins were able to single-handedly crush the Black Sheep using their influence and powers. I was also kind of disappointed that Fishin never really used his martyr ability to stop people’s abilities, instead he opted to martyr safe choices like Lonelyness and Fishy.

Dear Veedrock,
You are Mr. Edward Hyde.
Jekyll_Hyde.jpg

You used to be Doctor Walter Bishop, an acclaimed scientist with good intentions until you drank a potion. This potion separated your good side from your bad side and created an alter ego Mister Edward Hyde. However, after years of battling between the two sides the mind that used be known as Doctor Walter Bishop has died. You are completely evil and despicable and nothing is beneath you. You arrived at Miami to start a new career in crime. Lucky for you, the Swine Flu and the quarantine has left Miami open to you like a orchard ready for the picking. You have decided to ally yourself with the Black Sheep, a group of rejects and outcasts of society, to expand your horizons.

You love going out at night and wrecking havoc, but your favorite past time is stealing. Every night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Steal from User". Failure to send in a pm will cause you to revert back to Doctor Walter Bishop and will result in your suicide. That night you will steal all items that person has in their possession.

Also if you are ever inspected you will show up as Doctor Walter Bishop:
Dear Veedrock,
You are Doctor Walter Bishop.
walterreligion2.jpg

You are the enigmatic doctor from the hit TV series "Fringe". A mad scientist of sorts you were a leading government researcher in "Fringe" science. You have many little inventions and devices that you have created over the years that can do remarkable things like reading a person's thoughts or even transferring consciousness from one person to the next. With an estimated IQ of 196 you have been deemed by the masses to be the next great scientist. You came to Miami along with Agent Olivia Dunham to help find a real cure to the Swine Flu outbreak that has killed millions.

You brought with you the device that will allow you to communicate with the dead. Dead talking rules do not apply to you when you are alive. The dead will be notified that it is not against the rules to talk to you after death.

Along with your machine that can talk with dead people, you also have found the formula needed to cure this strain of Swine Flu, but you will need 3 ingredients: Ephedrine, Red Phosphorus, and Iodine.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.

Captain Kenpachi Zaraki, Fishin
Starscream, Lady Platina
Manfred Von Karma, Thorns
Rogue, Annihilator Zero

You are allied with the Black Sheep. You win if the Black Sheep win.
This was the moling role for the Black Sheep and it had many cues that did not allow the user to completely mole the village without some concerns. The balancing included: fake items mentioned in the role, a fake character mentioned in the role, the existence of a real medium in the game, and the fact that the fake items were the ingredients needed to cook meth. This was a fairly standard thieving role besides the moling ability, which was used very well in the game.

With the information provided from Fishin, Veedrock was able to use his thieving ability to steal a ton of items from Stoo and then equally distribute them between the members of his own mafia (unlike Jimbo). Unfortunately for Veedrock, he was inspected by Serenity when she was redirected by a knowledgeable Gmax. However, Veedrock was never lynched and he ended up surviving for a pretty long time even when uncovered. A funny thing that happened was when Veedrock decided to give the seeming useless Shades of Justice to Sikh Assassin during the night. However, before he could give the Shades away, Toothache decided to neuralyze him which broke the Shades but saved his life. Unfortunately, Toothache decided to follow up with his kill the next night and finished Veedrock off.

Dear Lady Platina,
You are Starscream.
Movie_Starscream_promorender2.jpg

The second-in-command of the Decepticons and Megatron's treacherous right hand, you are a person/machine that is not to be trusted. With the death of Megatron and the rest of the Decepticons, you have decided to lay low in Miami at a National Guard outpost, but after the Swine Flu break out you decided that you would wreck some havoc upon the city. You have allied yourself with the Black Sheep, a group of outcasts and rejects like yourself and with their help you will rule the city of Miami with your iron(unless it is made out of some alien metal) fist. Beware that this strain of Swine Flu is also capable of infecting machines (Who knows why?).

During the night you have two choices of action. You can choose to assume your humanoid form and kidnap someone or you can choose to be in your vehicular form, the F-22 Raptor, which will allow you to protect a person during the night by taking them into your cockpit and flying them high into the sky. To use either ability you will need to send a pm to blue_light stating either "Night X - Kidnapping User" or "Night X - Elevate User". During the night you will either kidnap or protect your target, depending on which pm you send. If you choose to kidnap your target, your target will be unable to perform actions that night or post in the thread for the following day until they are released at the end of that day, also you cannot kidnap the same person twice in a row.

Captain Kenpachi Zaraki, Fishin
Mr. Edward Hyde, Veedrock
Manfred Von Karma, Thorns
Rogue, Annihilator Zero

You are allied with the Black Sheep. You win if the Black Sheep win.
For Starscream I wanted a role that could “transform”, to do this I gave Starscream two abilities that he could alternate from. The role was originally a kidnapping/BPV, but I decided that since the Black Sheep had a BPV already, I would give them a way to protect themselves in case the BPV was ever lost.

Lady Platina did not play as well as I had hoped. He was unable to make a very useful false claim and ended up casting suspicion upon himself when he kidnapped Gmax instead of following Fishin’s orders. Surprisingly enough, despite being public enemy number 1 and a known kidnapper, he was not lynched until late game when the Assassins took over the remnants of the village.

Dear Thorns,
You are Manfred Von Karma.
animatedvonkarma160ue0.gif

You were the once the greatest prosecutor of all time, but that was of course until Phoenix Wright caught you trying to get your revenge on Miles Edgeworth. You were transferred to Miami after an incident at your old prison. When the Swine Flu arrived at Miami the prisons broke open and flooded the streets with criminals, you included. You have much experience with the court of law and you know your way around negotiations. You have decided to ally yourself with the Black Sheep to ensure your freedom.

You do not have much in terms of physical abilities, but you are a very accomplished prosecutor. One time only you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Initiate Trial". The following day instead of the person with the most votes getting lynched, the second person with the most votes will be framed for a crime and lynched instead. In the event that there is a tie, the people with the most votes will all be lynched.

After you broke out of prison you visited the Miami Courthouse and was able to acquire some Blackmail Documents. As long as you hold the Blackmail Documents you will be able to send a pm every night to blue_light stating "Night X - Force User to Testify:XXX". The following day your target must say whatever you put in place of the XXX, this is the only thing that your target may post for that day. Any words that you put in place of the XXX should not be longer than 24 words. If your target fails to say XXX, you will release the Blackmail Documents that you have on your target and your target's credibility will be ruined, effectively killing them. You cannot target the same person twice in a row.

Captain Kenpachi Zaraki, Fishin
Mr. Edward Hyde, Veedrock
Starscream, Lady Platina
Rogue, Annihilator Zero

You are allied with the Black Sheep. You win if the Black Sheep win and you have a successful Trial.
This role was originally designed to give a user lynchproofing for the following day, but I decided to change into a power play instead and give him the ability to “persuade” people. Due to the power of the persuade role, I decided to make it an item so that it would cast suspicion on him if it was ever stolen and fail to activate if it was stolen. Overall this role was a bit imbalanced, but in all it was very successful at its job.

Thorns did a bit of a better job than his teammates at false claiming, though that was not really saying much (oh god, Wolverine). He was able to fool some of the villagers, but not any of the intelligent ones nor any of the knowledgeable mafia. When Gmax devised his plan to completely cripple the Black Sheep in one night, he decided to target Thorns since he was a likely Black Sheep, which really paid off for the Assassins. Thorns also idled with his ability a lot, which may or may not have been a tactical decision if not laziness.

Dear Annihilator Zero,
You are Rogue (aka Anna Marie).
rogue3.gif

You were born a mutant with a very debilitating ability, the ability to absorb powers and memories of people through touch. Of course anybody that you touch will also experience that minor risk of dying upon contact, so no biggie. You came to Miami to run away from the harshness of life and perhaps escape from your lover, Gambit. However, as soon as you arrived, the Swine Flu infected the entire city and you watched it go up in flames. As man kill man you decided that humanity is not worth saving and you have allied yourself with the Black Sheep, a band of misfits and rogues, to control Miami under a new set of rules.

You have decided to throw away the gloves that have long sheltered others from your grasp, but no longer will you restrict yourself. During the day you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Day X - Kiss User". At the end of the day you will kiss your target and absorb his/her abilities(this does not count item abilities) while also immobilizing them until the night is over. You cannot target the same person twice in a row using this ability. The following day you will have two choices, you may choose to kiss another user or use the ability that you acquired last night, you will not be notified of what ability it is until you choose to use it. To use the ability that you acquired last night you have to send a pm to blue_light stating "Day X - Use Power". At the beginning of the night you will be sent a pm regarding the powers that you have acquired. Any ability that you gain will be lost after one night. You cannot gain any killing abilities.

Captain Kenpachi Zaraki, Fishin
Mr. Edward Hyde, Veedrock
Starscream, Lady Platina
Manfred Von Karma, Thorns

You are allied with the Black Sheep. You win if the Black Sheep win.
Perhaps the most powerful character in the Black Sheep arsenal (bar Von Karma), he was the informative role of the Black Sheep, capable of finding out the abilities (and using them) of the users that he hooks during the day. Unfortunately, because of the Hattori Hanzo sword which completely negates hooking, Annhialator Zero ended up wasting his hooks on unhookable people.

Annhialator Zero played a pretty bad game. He was suspected early and kidnapped by Hipmonlee, though he was eventually released, which only lead to further suspicion. His false claim of Wolverine is perhaps the worst false claim I had ever seen, riddled with typos, bad sentence structure, and false information (Wolverine did not get his regeneration powers from Weapon X you dolt). His false claim eventually led the village to believe that he was Rogue, which he was actually was, but did not result in his lynch as he was able to survive until Toothache neuralyzed him.

Rating: 2.5/10

The Assassins
As the winners of the match, the Assassins played a very good game, almost flawless (albeit a little bit of errors). They were able to use their powers to great avail and were able to control the items late game and use their redirection ability to use Hipmonlee as their puppet. They were also able to control Toothache, by threatening to reveal his status as the wolf and they used him to wipe out the Black Sheep.

Dear Jimbo,
You are Bill (aka Snake Charmer)
kill-bill-5.jpg

You were the leader of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, well you still are, but all your "Snakes" are dead. You are a ruthless assassin who has had many mentors including Hattori Hanzo and Pai Mei. Due to your training you are a master swordsman and martial artist. You have come to Miami to start a new Assassination squad, but this time without the silly nicknames and with much better assassins. You are the leader of the Assassins and you have the wealth, power, and skills to back it up. The city of Miami will soon be yours, as soon as you take out the silly resistance called the Village People. The Swine Flu is a curse and blessing perhaps at the same time. With the quarantine in place the authorities have no reinforcements and therefore do not really have any jurisdiction in Miami, your victory will be swift as long as you do not contract the Swine Flu. Whenever you post in the thread, you must post with a lisp because that is how you talk in the movie. Failure to comply with this posting restriction will result in violation of canon and cause you to die a horrible death.

As a trained assassin you are no stranger to stealth and sneaking around. While you are an accomplished killer you will be using your infiltration skills to steal things instead of killing things (though you can choose to kill people if you want). Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Steal from User". That night you will use your ninja stealth skills to sneak into that person's base of operations and steal all items they may possess.

You also have the ability to call on a hit. One time only, you may send a pm during the night to blue_light stating "Day X - Initiate Two Pines Massacre". As soon as your pm is sent that day will end and the player with the majority of the votes will be lynched. For best results, I should be consulted of when you will send the pm to make its usage more streamlined.

From your informants and spies you have received a Hattori Hanzo sword, acquired from Beatrix Kiddo, while you hold the sword none of your actions may ever be redirected, martyred, or hooked, nor can you be kidnapped.

On Odd Nights you may send a vote to elect one member of the Assassins to kill a target. To send a vote you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Sending User to kill User". The chosen killer can choose how to kill their target, as long as it is possible for their character to perform such an action (eg HK-47 cannot telekinetically tear a human apart with his mind).

The other members of the Assassins are:
HK-47, Bass
Deadpool, Gmax
Mystique, Macle

You are allied with the Assassins. You win if the Assassins win and you initiate the Two Pines Massacre.
The thief for the Assassins and the one that has their Power Play, their power play: Two Pines Massacre was a bit better than the Trial, but less powerful than Dave Chappelle’s power play. The role was designed to be the Assassin’s killer since it originally held the Hattori Hanzo Sword and a good target for mining, to protect from thievery.

Jimbo played his role fairly well and was able to get a lot of information from the village with some help from Gmax. He was able to steal almost every single item in the game besides Scylla (nobody even knew about this item) and the Scope (which his team possessed anyway). Unfortunately, Jimbo did not pass out the items like Veedrock did and he eventually got all of his items stolen from by Toothache, though he was able to eventually steal them back. The funny thing was that Toothache’s theft of the sword allowed him to prevent Annhialator Zero or Lady Platina from hook/kidnapping him which helped out the Assassins in the long run.

Dear Bass,
You are HK-47.
214447-156176-hk-47_large.jpg

Meatbags, you are surrounded by them everywhere, you could almost smell their foul stench if you had chemical receptors (good thing you do not). You are HK-47 the most bad ass assassin droid of all time. Created by Darth Revan as a means to destroy his political opponents during the Mandalorian Wars and Jedi Civil War, you have killed many great warriors and even Jedi (Did I mention you are fucking awesome?). You arrived on this planet called Earth when your body was encased in an asteroid that crashed into the planet. Most of your chassis and parts have been recovered, but you are still severely damaged. You were dug up by Bill and recreated with human technology. Unfortunately, even the best that mankind has to offer is not much, as most of your assassination protocols are still disabled, but you will do what you need to survive. For now you will assist Bill and the Assassins in taking over Miami (and after a few years of service under Bill perhaps you will kill him yourself). Due to the quarantine none of the meatbags will be able to escape your wrath. Beware of the Swine Flu, as it is able to infect machines (Who knows why?).

You have with you an unlimited batch of Flash Mines, created from a machine on your right wrist, which you can use as an offensive weapon or a defensive weapon. Every night you can send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Plant Mines Around User". During the night your target will be protected from any kind of night ability but only once (if your target were to be targeted twice, only the ability with the higher priority would be stopped). The Flash Mines has the highest priority in the game.

From your meteorite an assassin droid sniper rifle was also found in your possession, but the only workable part is the Scope. As long as you possess the Scope you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Scope Out User" that night you will watch your target and be able to find out his/her role name by the end of the night.

Bill, Jimbo
Deadpool, Gmax
Mystique, Macle

You are allied with the Assassins. You win if the Assassins win.
My favorite Star Wars character of all time, HK-47 had a pretty original role in which he could protect his target from any of kind of ability during the night, but only once per night. He also had the scope which was a small nerfed informative role for the Assassins. Mainly it was there for the village to steal and to use for their own gain, but it was used fairly well in this game, allowing the Assassins to find proof that Fishin was a Black Sheep.

Bass’ false claim of Urkel was okay, but it was a bit too weird and did not follow the format of the rest of the role pms which resulted in people suspecting him of being mafia. Luckily for him and his team, due to the failures of the Black Sheep at claiming, he was able to stall his death and secure a victory. His flash mines actually never really protected any of his teammates, but it was a really good insurance policy to have.

Dear Gmax,
You are Deadpool (aka Wade Winston Wilson)
deadpool061ir.jpg

Insane, crazy, psychotic, and insane (Yes I said it twice) those are the words that describe you. Assassin or mercenary, whatever gets food on the table, you do what gets the job done. A byproduct of the Weapon X program, you have an enhanced version of the regenerative abilities of Wolverine and a large variety of high-tech equipment to make up for your lack of adamantium claws. Of course you also have cancer which your regenerative powers is currently suppressing, this combination of cancer and regeneration has caused your mind to go haywire. They really fucked you up in the movie Wolverine:Origins, so now you are back with a vengeance. You came to Miami at the request of Bill, your job is to assist him in taking over the streets of Miami by killing every last hint of opposition. The arrival of the Swine Flu has not changed your goal, while you may be infected by the Swine Flu it cannot actually deter you in anyway. As the "merc with a mouth" every time you post in the thread you must make a wisecrack or taunt directed at the above poster (I do not count). Failure to post a taunt/wisecrack in the thread will result in you becoming even more insane and incapable of doing your duties as an assassin.

In your possession is a teleporting device which will allow you to go places where normal people cannot. This device is stuck to your body so it cannot be stolen and will be put to good use for the good of the Assassins. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Teleport User 1 towards User 2". During the night if User 1 is about to use an ability you will quickly teleport near User 1, grab him/her and teleport User 1 towards User 2 which will cause User 1 to hit User 2 with his/her ability. Anybody you target during the night cannot be targeted the next night, whether they were User1 or User2.

In terms of your arsenal of guns, explosive charges, and katanas you have unfortunately used, lost, or brooken most them while taking out three-fourths of Miami's Finest in a bloody massacre. However, you still have one Bullet left from your arsenal of weapons, whether or not you can find a gun to use it is up to you.

You also have the ability to break the 4th wall and survive with your head severed (Dead Talking rules do not apply to you), which means you can talk with people that are dead and talk to people that are living when you are dead in the game, without fear of violating the dead talking rules. People that are dead will be notified that you can talk with them without violating Dead Talking rules.

Bill, Jimbo
HK-47, Bass

You are allied with the Assassins. You win if the Assassins win.
The most awesome Marvel character ever (besides Gambit), he was included in the Assassins to provide them with a powerful role that the Black Sheep would not be able to match. Using his ability to redirect abilities, Deadpool could utilize his skills to redirect inspections, protects, and even kidnappings to help his cause. Deadpool could also talk to the dead (which people did not like apparently) which ended up giving the Assassins one very good and game-breaking lead. He also held the 2nd bullet, which allowed him to infiltrate the Village, though it was eventually stolen.

Gmax played and utilized his role almost perfectly. Using his redirect to control Hipmonlee, putting pressure on Veedrock by having him inspected, and using it to redirect Lonelyness’ redirect to allow his team to kill him without fear of him returning, Gmax was able to control the game with his ability and his moling skills. After outing Fishin as the BIGGEST mole ever, Gmax was able to gain lots of influence in the village and later on take out the remaining Black Sheep (which he completely crippled in one day/night with his master plan) and Toothache.

Dear Macle,
You are Mystique (aka Raven Darkholme).
251px-Mystique_%28AoA%29_2.jpg

A shape-shifting mutant with the skills of an expert assassin, that is what makes you deadly. Over one hundred years old, you are also the mother of Nightcrawler (Who does not see the family resemblance?) the X-man. You were hired by Bill to help bring down the city of Miami. With the quarantine in place and only the Village People and the Black Sheep blocking your way, you can almost taste victory.

With your ability to shape shift you can assume any humanoid form you want. One time only, you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Kidnap User". During the Night you will kidnap that person for the entirety of the game and receive any items he/she may have in their possession. As long as you hold that person hostage you can assume their form and use any of their abilities, upon inspection you will show up as that person. If you are ever killed, lynched, or removed out of the game you will release your hostage and your hostage will receive any items on your corpse. There are certain people in this game that you cannot kidnap.

Bill, Jimbo
HK-47, Bass
Deadpool, Gmax

You are allied with the Assassins. You win if the Assassins win.
This was in my opinion the most powerful role in the Assassin’s arsenal. It was a role originally designed so that the player would be able to write his own role pm, but then I decided that this would be a much better moling role instead (pseudo-kill too). At the point that I started writing it, I began getting really bored of writing role pms so the Mystique role pm was relatively short compared to the others (Ando too).

Unfortunately for the Assassins, since the village was united relatively early, Macle had only two viable targets for kidnapping: Toothache and Arcticblast (his kidnap does not even work with Toothache). Unfortunately for Macle, Arcticblast was able to exchange his role pm with Fishin and cast suspicion on Macle after his kidnapping. Macle was then eventually used as fodder by the Assassins to initiate the Two Pines Massacre lynch which killed Earthworm. In my opinion, this was a fairly bad move, and it led to Macle’s lynch which could have easily been Lady Platina, Veedrock, or Annhialator Zero.

The MIB
Due to the influx of wolves and mafias only having odd/even night kills. I decided to include a mini-faction inside the game to spice things up. The MIB were a very nice idea for a mini-faction since it fit into the theme really well. The MIB were able to grow more powerful overtime and they were able to pass on their abilities upon death, which made them extremely powerful late game. However, due to matty’s blunder, the MIB were nothing but pawns in the overall spectrum though Toothache did almost come very close to winning the game.

Dear matty,
You are Agent K (aka Kevin Brown)
MV5BMTY4OTE2OTYwMF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwODA2NzY2._V1._SX485_SY360_.jpg

Considered to be the greatest Agent in the history of the MIB, you have seen and done it all. You have recently come out of retirement due to the Kylothian threat and you have now decided to stay in service. You have come to Miami along with Agent J to investigate this new strain of Swine Flu. An extract of this Swine Flu has been determined in MIB labs to be of Alien origin and because of this a quarantine has been called by Chief Zed to contain Miami until further investigation. You and Agent J have already dealt with the alien that is helping spread the Swine Flu, but you still must stop the source and neuralyze any and all survivors of the Alien Swine Flu.

To accomplish this mission you have with you, a neuralyzer, which you can use on odd nights to neuralyze people. To do this, every odd night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Neuralyze User". Your target for that night will be neuralyzed and be effectively removed from the game. Unfortunately, since MIB does not normally operate in Miami you do not have many resources at hand. However, every third day, new supplies from MIB headquarters will be snuck into the city. You are also always wearing a pair of shades, which will prevent you from being neuralyzed.

In the event that Agent J dies you gain any abilities and items that he had in his possession.

The identity of Agent J is Toothache.

You are allied with the MIB. You win if the MIB win.
The Agent K role is basically the odd night killer for the MIB and was able to gain some very interesting abilities every 3 days. On day 3, Agent K would get access to MIB satellites which would allow him to inspect people. On day 6, Agent K would get a MIB badge which would allow him to be known to the village as a government official allowing him 2 votes instead of 1. On day 9, Agent K would be sent a Noisy Cricket which he can use to hook people during the night.

Overall matty played really bad, though he did have a lot of spirit. Matty’s false claim was fairly bad (I was told it was almost as bad as the Wolverine false claim) and ended up making him the main suspect early on as a mafia man. Matty tried to unsuccessfully save himself, but he was able to get out that Fishin was not a man to be trusted which did end up being true, whether or not he had evidence to back it up. Also, after his death, matty foolishly told Gmax the identity of his partner: Toothache. This forced Toothache to follow Gmax’s orders or face erasure.

Dear Toothache,
You are Agent J (aka James Darrel Edwards III)
http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BNzEwMjkyNzE5Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwODk1NzY2._V1._SX388_SY400_.jpg[/msg]
Handpicked by Agent K to be his successor, you have failed to get out of the shadow of your mentor, but you have been working very hard to change this. While you have not filled the shoes of Agent K, you have saved the world many times from assured destruction. You have been sent to Miami along with Agent K to investigate this new strain of Swine Flu. An extract of this Swine Flu has been determined in MIB labs to be of Alien origin and because of this a quarantine has been called by Chief Zed to contain Miami until further investigation. You and Agent K have already dealt with the alien that is helping spread the Swine Flu, but you still must stop the source and neuralyze any and all survivors of the Alien Swine Flu.

To accomplish this mission you have with you, a neuralyzer, which you can use on even nights to neuralyze people. To do this, every even night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Neuralyze user".

In the event that Agent K dies you will gain any abilities and items that he had in his possession.

The identity of Agent K is matty.

You are allied with the MIB. You win if the MIB win.
The other MIB agent, Agent J was the even night killer for the MIB. In terms of abilities that he could have gotten (did get), on the day 3 Toothache was able to get the ability to steal by using a handheld Tractor beam. On day 6 Toothache was given a MIB vehicle equipped with a decoy, which gave him a 1-time BPV. On day 9 Toothache could have gotten the ability to have MIB minions which could kidnap a user during the night. Due to the nature of the MIB, if they had ever gotten to Day 9, they could pretty much win the game single-handedly since their abilities pass on to each other upon death (and their “items” can’t be stolen).

Toothache wasn’t really able to play this game as I thought he could have since he was the only person to never claim in the game. His identity of being the last MIB was not actually unknown knowledge and he was kept alive by the Village in hopes that he would crossfire with the Assassins. However, due to matty’s blunder, Toothache was forcibly indebted to the Assassins and could no more kill an Assassin then he could commit suicide. The funny thing was that Toothache was dangerously close to winning the game since he at one point had the gun and a bullet and had his one-time BPV active.

Dear Hipmonlee,
You are Dexter Morgan.
[IMG]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51PpJAOkqLL.jpg
Also known as the Bay Harbor Butcher, you are the Dark Defender of Miami. You kill the people who take advantage of society's rules and use them to fuel your sociopath needs, you essentially take out the trash. Prior to the coming of the Swine Flu and the quarantine you were in quite a tight spot, with your secret dumping spot being discovered by divers. However, now that people are fearing the Swine Flu instead of the Bay Harbor Butcher, the scum of the streets have all decided to come out and play. With all these new targets out at night you have decided to go ape-shit crazy with your killing schedule. Beware an old associate of yours, Sergeant James Doakes, is still hot on your trail and will not stop until you are apprehended by the authorities (lynched) or lying in a pool of your own blood. If you are ever inspected you will show up as the Bay Harbor Butcher, a ruthless serial killer that rapes/kidnaps and kills his victims.

To aid your cleaning of the streets you will have a variety of weapons. During the day you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Day X - Investigate Crime Scene: X". For a crime scene you will be able to investigate either the death of a person or the kidnapping of a person, which you should express as X. From your investigations you will be able to get a DNA sample from the guilty party which you will then compare to any DNA samples that you have acquired from players. During the night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Acquire DNA from User". That night you will acquire a DNA sample from your target and compare it to any DNA samples that you have collected from any crime scenes.

Besides your ability to test DNA, you also have the ability to kidnap and kill users. If you do not have a person kidnapped yet then during the night you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Tranquilize User". That night you will go up to that person and kidnap them before they will be able to do anything. If you have a person in your custody you must send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Murder". That night your target will be cut into several pieces with your saw and bagged up to be dumped in your new hiding place. If during the night you try to murder your victim and you fail, you will panic and flee which will result in the release of your victim at the beginning of the next day. Failure to send in needed pms will cause you to become overrun with your blood lust and will result in your suicide. Any victim you kill will not be revealed at the beginning of the next day, instead you will dump his/her body into your new dumping spot where people will never find it.

Since you are a Forensic Blood Splatter Expert, if you ever vote in the thread your opinion will be worth two votes rather than one.

You win if both the Black Sheep and the Assassins are wiped out and Sergeant James Doakes is dead.
The most powerful role in the game, period. Dexter was the mafia’s worst enemy, as he was the village vigilante, DNA inspector, and mayor all bundled up into one lethal package. To balance out Dexter’s amazing abilities, the game was engineered to make it hard for the player to just outright claim since there was a village role in touch with the inspector that was immediately wary of his existence.

Hipmonlee played the Dexter role very well, though it was not utilized in the game as I had intended due to the moling of the village by Fishin (and general crappiness of the village leadership). Hipmonlee entrusted Gmax with his role pm early, thought this was a critical error, but he also had the intuition to doubt Fishin’s BPV claim. However, due to the nature of his abilities he was never fully trusted and was eventually killed by the Black Sheep (after being used by the Assassins to kill Serenity).

Dear Joatmon,
You are Lex Luthor.
lex_luthor_for_president.jpg

The mastermind of the Alien Swine Flu Outbreak and the partner of Sarah Kerrigan, you are the archnemesis of Superman. You came to Miami to test your new virus, a much deadlier version of the Swine Flu (A mix of Ebola, AIDS, the H1N1 Virus, Sarah Kerrigan's spit, viral nanobots, and the Common Cold). Along with your partner, Sarah Kerrigan, you were going to use the Alien Swine Flu to infect billions and use them as cultures for your own Broodling Army of Death. However, with the death of Sarah Kerrigan, your plan has changed. Instead of the army of broodlings you have decided to use your samples of Alien Swine Flu to infect the remaining people in Miami to see if it is worth using in a chemical bio-weapon. You also know that your archnemesis Superman is in town, but you have already dealt with him by duct taping a large amount of Kryptonite to his forehead.

To spread the Alien Swine Flu you will douse your victim with a canister of the nasty disease. To do this you can send a pm to blue_light during the night stating "Night X - Infect User". That night you will throw a canister of the Alien Swine Flu into their house and infect your target. Once your target is infected anyone that comes in contact with that person will become a carrier of the Swine Flu. The act of targeting, being targeted, giving items, receiving items will all result in the Alien Swine Flu being passed on. Every fourth person to be infected with the Alien Swine Flu will die in two days after infection, there is a cure out there for the Alien Swine Flu, but it can only stop its effects not its spread. The other side effect of the Alien Swine Flu is constant coughing. If a carrier of the Alien Swine Flu posts in the thread, they must post :cough: :cough: in the beginning, middle, and end of their post or they will be unable to do anything during the night due to a massive fit of coughing.

You win if if at the end of game all players alive have been infected with the Alien Swine Flu (You do not have to be alive to win).
The theme of the game pretty much revolved around how much chaos this role could create. It was intended to create an atmosphere of fear, where you could not target someone or exchange items with someone without getting infected. The overall role was not intended to be a very hard role to win, in fact it was fairly simple and probably only needed one or two targets to effectively win.

Joatmon was unable to play his role at all and pretty much ruined the quarantine aspect of the mafia;

Quarantine Mafia, in my opinion, was a very successful follow up from Elements and I had a lot of fun hosting it and watching it play out (though I am a bit disappointed at the lack of Swine Flu).

Congratulations again to the Assassins for winning the game with only one casualty.

I was pretty lucky at one point

My inventory included a gun, two bullets (which prevents a lynch), the Captain America shield, the Sword of Hattori Hanzo (which prevented me from being hookered, martyred or distracted) and a bottle of Vicodin pills, which gave me an extra night's action after being killed. However, all of that was stolen from me on n6, and I was hoping to steal them back by hitting the thief who got it in the first place. I also had a one-time BPV and the Tractor Beam (thief) abilities.

Gmax fed me a couple of false leads, suggesting that AZ was the thief. I wasnt exactly working with the Assassins, since Gmax was acting under the pretence that he was a villager. And he had virtually everyone convinced of that. I was actually going to kill him n7 if you had attempted to lynch an Assassin instead of me on Day 7, since I was starting to get suspicious after his 'lead' made me kill a villager.

Basically, matty slipped up early by revealing the MiB's existence, then tried to infiltrate the village unsuccessfully, getting an early lynch. I stayed low profile from then on and tried to hit as many mafia as I could by simple guesswork until Gmax contacted me, by which time I had the tractor beam and was starting to stockpile items.

So, despite being fooled by Gmax, as were most of us, I played a reasonably good game.

wow i am at least a 7 but that's irrelevant

i used my power when it was applicable, and i stopped using it after a while to fool the village into thinking the blackmail documents were with another player, but yeah i died.

here is my fake role pm

Dear Thorns,
You are Sanae Hanekoma.
Hanekoma.png

As the Producer of the Reaper's Game, it was your job to keep the game running smoothly. Along the way you've dealt with some very difficult people such as the young Neku Sakuraba, so you know how to talk to people. You came to Miami after the Composer banished you from Shibuya upon discovery of your being a Fallen Angel. The swine flu has debilitated your powers, effectively leaving you as a regular human being. You still are very sharp, and you'll use your mind in this battle.

In Shibuya, you ran a cafe called WildKat. The Miami WildKat is exactly the same as the Shibuya one. However, since you work full time, all of your posts have to talk about the brilliance of coffee. But did you think that was it? No, your beans have their own power. Every night you may send a pm to blue_light stating "Night X - Cuppa joe for the road, User?". You'll offer that user a cup of your delicious house blend, and they'll tell you about their life. That is, they'll tell you if they did anything the previous night.

You are allied with the Village People. You win if the Village People win.

obviously there were some flaws such as the posting restriction not being in the first paragraph of flavour text. i never had to pull this out, but i showed the rest of my team and we generally agreed this was a good fake. i claimed to fishy and hipmonlee, both prominent users against the black sheep's cause and i think they didn't suspect me too much. i was on the verge of completely feeding false info to lonelyness, but then i was murdered.

and can i say that this is the most chaotic game i have ever played. seems like everyone had a role which could have put suspicion on the usefulness of my role. congratulations to blue_light for creating a good game. while the elements template is good (i stand by my opinion that it is balanced), you decided to take a different direction, which was good to see.

and wolverine is facedesk inducing for sure

Dear Annihilator Zero,
You are Wolverine (aka James "Logan" Howlett)
wolverine1.gif

Unlike most of the other mutants, you weren't actually born with any super powers, you received them when you were experimented upon by Weapon X, an insane scientist. Weapon X's experiments primarily involved fusing your bones with an indestructible metal known as adamantium. The adamantium provides you with an ability to instantly regenerate your body you were also given foot-long claws made of the same substance, which are fucking cool. The X-Men sent you to Miami to investigate when people started dying, but by the time you realised what was going on it was too late and the whole place was quarantined. The Swine Flu outbreak has severely damaged the adamantium in your bones, as well as your healing powers, but you still have quite a few tricks up your sleeve, which you'll use to attempt to restore some order.

You really don't like killing people, so you try to avoid it. However, as a mutant you've received a lot of discrimination in your time, and you just don't have the patience for that right now. If anyone tries to lynch you in the main topic, you can show them the error of their ways by sending a PM to blue_light saying "Night X - Shredding User", that user will be completely destroyed by your claws.

You are allied with the Village People.

You win if the Village People win.

I dont think I deserved 8. I mean, I trusted gmax, and I didnt do anything at all in the whole game..

I would give myself a 3 at most.. My plan was good, but I didnt get the chance to implement it at all.. It was just really hard to find people to trust. Fishin's claim was dodgy, Lesm would have been great but he was the one person in the whole game I couldnt work with, so I went with GMax..

Have a nice day.

ok for the record, how the fuck was I suppose to know gmax wasn't a replacement wolf and just a mafia. If you tell me I can deadtalk to him, then that is just setting me up tbh? meh......... x_x

I agree though, I played an awful game, but I did kill an inspector and got most of the village info to Tooth. I also knew that Fishin was bad but didn't have the opportunity to get him unfortunately.

I would like to apologize to Tooth though. I didn't play a stellar game and it fucked you as well. Wish you were on IRC more. I didn't see you much so I couldn't talk much with you :\

good to see a postgame that doesnt give everyone 6s and 7s, but there are several things that still anger me greatly regarding this mafia

first was my bullshit subbing out, induced because the one village leader who wasnt a fucking mole decided i was not active enough
(and receiving one nudge about inactivity 4 hours before you updated, whilst i was asleep)

second was that after being suspicious of the right people in the village, and claiming to the one guy who was a safe claim, he inspected me and then proceeded to tell fishin my role before his death. great.

this log is appropriate

[16:01:58] <shade> people are so eager
[16:02:00] <shade> to tell stuff
[16:02:01] <shade> fsr
[16:02:05] <shade> i want to play a game
[16:02:10] <shade> where people dont feel obliged
[16:02:11] <shade> to claim
[16:02:14] <shade> or tell people to claim

and third was the role pms. though there were plenty of good ideas in here, the huge ass role pms were abit excessive, dont you think?

anwyay this looks like it was alot of fun for the mafia, especially the assassins, i suppose i am just bitter

Had I played FE Mafia, I might have been able to see this shit coming. Since I didn't, I took a gamble based on my past experiences in mafia that this wouldn't happen because I had never seen a game in which it did happen. Awesome... ><

Here's a tip: don't try to give one story to the village and another to the mafia. If you give the wrong story, you're either suspicious or fucked.

Oh, and seriously, fuck Von Karma.

Here's a tip: Get your story straight.

Sorry but, we were doomed to lose. Not only because we had a mole in our presence (really, multiple moles) but because we were against the same # of people. Considering mafia tries to kill off villagers first, we would never have the lead in lynches unless mafia helped us.

This game was fun, just highly unbalanced. I'm not sure how this got accepted with so many kidnappers on the non village side + highly powerful roles against just 13 villagers. Nonetheless, grade A blue_light mafia. (As usual)

Yeah, I didn't bother re-doing my false claim as I thought I was dead, then as soon as I was released LN PMed me telling me to give him the claim right there, so I was pretty screwed.

Didn't even know about that fucking sword.

Although I won't deny it was utter crap even for a first draft

While, the village only had 13 people not including Hip, you guys had overall 16 votes in the beginning of the game and started off with a vigilante. It's not my fault you guys got moles and he basically became useless.

Concerning Stoo's gripes, I am not obligated to nudge you before I sub you out.

Also balance isn't just all numbers, you have consider the difficulty of how to unite a village, and in this game you had more than enough help from me.

Explain how we "had help from you".

Either way 4-5 mafia makes no sense either, yes, the assassins were stronger but you could have just made it 4-4 and give us the extra villager since we only had 13. I just don't get it, it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Balance isn't all just numbers yes, but when villagers tend to die first night 1-3, we would be at a severe disadvantage, which is why, you give villagers extra, on top of that, since we aren't united, it becomes that much more crucial.

This game was unbalanced from both assassins and villager standpoint imo.

Hip was basically a villager so stop saying 13 villagers. If you include the MIB, it was 14-11 at the very start of the game with the village having 2 mayors. Not only that but the Lex Luthor role was not detrimental to the village, (you had all the fucking cures), you could have enlisted his aid and used his swine flu to kill mafia by denying them clinc hours or flu vaccine. Plus this game is balanced in the sense that each faction had an equal chance of winning.

When I say I helped you, I mean the village was stupid easy to unite. BPV was in contact with the inspector at the very start of the game, it's not my fault Lesm46 let Fishin walk all over him. You guys also had access to large number of inspector roles and Hipmonlee. Hipmonlee could kill just as often as a single mafia, it's not my fault you guys were moled and Hipmonlee was forced to out himself causing his only kill to be a villager. Not only that, but the role pms were stupid long so that mafia would have a hard time false claiming, which paid off didn't it?

Spreadsheet:http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rI96McSfUAhEqONUYIv8WkA

Not exactly half. Recent examples:

Presidents Mafia had 12/23.
Mafia Forever had 11/20.
Elements Mafia had 14/24.
(assuming I counted right)

It looks like this game was designed to be chaotic. There are powerful roles all around--too many IMO to balance each other out. I would hardly call this game "balanced."

Sikh Assassin did not play the role as I intended and ended up going into a coma. In my opinion, he should have been a bit more open earlier about his disease and should have chosen better targets, as his only contribution to the game was take the kryptonite from Superman, who ended up dying before he could even really use his ability.

I did what I was told. Everything is fine if I'm just a pawn, I need to rack in experience first, maybe next game...

The village was actually pretty strong. The thing was, a lot of their best roles got revealed early and either killed, manipulated (Dexter in particular was more of a liability than an asset if the Assassins found him) or were prevented from working (the power syringe guys, LN's vigilante powers, and Sikh falling into the coma). A lot of the village's strength in this game, moreso than in most other games, required them to be united without someone messing them up, which of course was exactly what I was trying to do. Also like blue_light said Lex Luthor was more of an asset than anything, since the village could cure swine flu and the mafia could not. Me saying that his abilities were more harmful to the village than anything was a flat-out lie but nobody seemed to care mainly since he was a neutral.

If anything, I probably wouldn't have included two roles that stopped lynches since without Dexter's help that's the only way the village could kill (lady platina survived way longer than he should've heh), but oh well.

MiB were a cool little mini faction, they actually had a decent chance since they had the most firepower and actually some pretty strong abilities as well. Pity both got revealed so early though. The Dexter/Doakes thing was also pretty neat I thought, as they were both strong roles but had to work against each other.

Yeah, I already stated that the lack of miami / swine flu references in my urkel PM kind of made me suspicious, but I also forwarded a few fake "results" PMs to the village leaders (including mole Fishin), which I think was one of the reasons that I ended up being less suspicious than most of the black sheep.

Overall, I thought this was one of the most fun mafia games I have played in a while. Part of it was because I was mafia, though. (Seriously, in almost every mafia game I have played on this site, I am stuck with some crappy villager role). I would also attribute it to Gmax's leadership. We planned all of our night actions very carefully via IRC chat and we even reminisced about past games a little bit.

blue_light also did a really good job in keeping things interesting with each of the updates as well as the rather large number of powerful roles. I am glad that he was such a good host.

I loved this game, easily the best I've been in and will be for awhile. I'm not familiar with every Basic mafia but this is among the best (if not the). I can settle for 6.5, I was a minion for the most part following orders as given. I'm kind of wondering what Macle did to deserve a 7 though, I know he won but on the surface he seemed like a headless chicken (I'm not implying he doesn't deserve the rating, I'm wondering what he did under cover).

However, before he could give the Shades away, Toothache decided to neuralyze him which broke the Shades but saved his life. Unfortunately, Toothache decided to follow up with his kill the next night and finished Veedrock off.

Yeah, the PM said the shades were useless so I thought I'd give them to Sikh (he was going into a coma the next day). After I got that PM of my survival my first thought was "steal those shades back." Then I got sick and couldn't steal, causing my demise. Sucks, but it was still pretty cool that they saved my ass long enough to distribute the items.

I was sent for the first Black Sheep kill on Superman, and I tried to frame Hipmonlee by choosing the kill method Dexter uses (which I started watching because of this game). Unfortunately the update didn't give any details from the PM, leading that plan to fail (not that it cost anything).

I don't know why but I was more worried about the village most of the game than the assassins, but then when it hit me that they were still very numorous, it was too late (me and Thorns died the next night I believe). I also think the Sheep Trial could have seen better use, though possibly revealing more of us it would have significantly lowered numbers.

I really wish that Virus got around, it would have really shaken things up. Good game assassins, you played very well.

I also was dissapointed the MiB never got in touch with me.. I dunno if you guys noticed that I could win with either you or the village.

On the other hand there wasnt much I could do to help you except vote.. I would have tried though.

Have a nice day.

I really like the roles. All of them seemed really cool though I was kinda disappointed when i got articblast's role since i really couldn't do anything with it until i got the power boast (which never happened ):).

thanks for hosting blue_light

[00:22:29] <@WOOD> did anyone else not claim to you fishin
[00:22:33] <@WOOD> from the village
[00:22:44] <&Fishin> from the village
[00:22:46] <&Fishin> hmm
[00:22:53] <&Fishin> well, hip didn't, but look what happened to him lol
[00:23:10] <&Fishin> pretty much everyone else did
[00:23:25] <@WOOD> i hear earthworm was also hesitant
[00:23:35] <&Fishin> earthworm did hesitate
[00:23:40] <&Fishin> and then told his role to the other mafia

posting this log from just now ebcause im still annoyed at this. i was the only villager not to claim to a mole, and got a.) subbed out, b.) 5.5/10, and c.) fucked over in the end anyway

There's a difference between not claiming early to save yourself from claiming to a mafia, and being an ornery idiot who doesn't claim to ANYONE (even cleaned villagers such as CoTH) until the village is FORCED to have you fucking inspected on night 2. That's just bad playing dude.

That and you weren't active AT ALL. I tried like 3 times to get you to pass on the items that you had until it was too fucking late because you got yourself stolen from by Jimbo. Yeah, you didn't claim to a mafia, big fucking woop, but you also didn't do a damn thing all game to help the village, and then you complain about your average score.

have you read anything i said you imbecile

i did claim to coth you fucking idiot, that was the whole point
he then proceeded to inspect me before telling fishin my role

01[00:38] <WOOD> i hear you were lesms partner
01[00:38] <WOOD> before he died
[00:39] <CardsOfTheHeart> that's the word going around, yes

01[00:46] <WOOD> look at his role pm
01[00:46] <WOOD> for his death
01[00:46] <WOOD> Failure to try to find the Bay Harbor Butcher will result in you becoming even more obsessed with the case, causing you to become suicidal.
01[00:46] <WOOD> <snip>
01[00:46] <WOOD> You know the identity of <snip>: <snip>
01[00:46] <WOOD> there are several snipped things
01[00:46] <WOOD> i assume the second bit
01[00:46] <WOOD> is you
01[00:46] <WOOD> and something about you
[00:46] <CardsOfTheHeart> that is me
01[00:46] <WOOD> the first snip
01[00:46] <WOOD> is this
01[00:46] <WOOD> his item
[00:47] <CardsOfTheHeart> really?
01[00:47] <WOOD> yes
01[00:47] <WOOD> i am in possesion of it
01[00:47] <WOOD> im the scavenger
01[00:47] <WOOD> i get items from people who die

[00:57] <CardsOfTheHeart> i have no proof that you're scavenger

(the ironic thing was that he had more proof that i was scavenger than he did any proof of anyone elses role, especially fishin (fuck you fishin!!!))

[00:57] <CardsOfTheHeart> in fact
[00:57] <CardsOfTheHeart> i didn't know anything about you before you came here
01[00:57] <WOOD> thats fine
[00:57] <CardsOfTheHeart> so i still have some doubts
01[00:57] <WOOD> i wanted it like that
01[00:57] <WOOD> i blew fishin off
01[00:57] <WOOD> as i didnt know if i could trst him
01[00:57] <WOOD> i am more certain
01[00:57] <WOOD> you are village

[00:59] <CardsOfTheHeart> i'm not sure what to believe anymore
[01:00] <CardsOfTheHeart> i'm taking all of the info i get with a grain of salt
01[01:00] <WOOD> thats partly the reason i am more happy trusting you
01[01:00] <WOOD> as i dont think you could fake a believable role pm
01[01:00] <WOOD> x)
01[01:00] <WOOD> no offense

we talked for a bit longer and he said he was suspicious of fishin, who hadnt given him a role pm and gave us no more reason to trust him than "hi im village claim to me". i said i would help him with uniting the village as he didnt look like he was ready or really wanted to be leading the village, but i guess i appeared too pushy and he decided to inspect me, even though he ahd given me his role pm

after coths death i kept my fucking head down like a smart villager, until i received a pm from you a few hours before my subbing out asking me to send my items to people
yes i wasnt on irc as much as i sometimes am for a few days, because i decided i was spending too much time on there lately, but i elft myself logged into smogon and you enver once tried to conatct me (and i was still present in the chat for at least a couple of hours a day during that period - mostly at night which would be late evening for you afaik and i enver saw you online)
maybe next game ill send the host a list of players without irc access and see who i can get subbed out!!!!!!

I tried like 3 times to get you to pass on the items that you had until it was too fucking late
when the fuck did this happen? all i got was the one pm from you i mentioned earlier

and dont call me a fucking bad player, i dont even need to bring up simpsons mafia

edit:

01[01:43] <WOOD> what has fishin claimed
01[01:43] <WOOD> i wanted to see a pm
01[01:44] <WOOD> but i had no intention
01[01:44] <WOOD> to claim to him
[01:44] <CardsOfTheHeart> he actually hasn't sent me his pm
[01:44] <CardsOfTheHeart> but he claims ichigo kurosaki
01[01:44] <WOOD> and youve sent him yours?
[01:45] <CardsOfTheHeart> yes
01[01:45] <WOOD> uh
01[01:45] <WOOD> o__o
[01:45] <CardsOfTheHeart> i know...
[01:45] <CardsOfTheHeart> ><
01[01:45] <WOOD> you of all people
01[01:45] <WOOD> should have it
[01:45] <CardsOfTheHeart> i'm going to ask again for it
01[01:46] <WOOD> good
01[01:46] <WOOD> what happened last time you asked
[01:46] <CardsOfTheHeart> nothing
[01:46] <CardsOfTheHeart> no response at all
01[01:47] <WOOD> that surprises me
01[01:47] <WOOD> is he online now
[01:47] <CardsOfTheHeart> looks like he's on smogon
[01:47] <CardsOfTheHeart> i'll ask him
01[01:48] <WOOD> say to him
01[01:48] <WOOD> that you want a PM
01[01:48] <WOOD> dont ask for it
01[01:48] <WOOD> demand it

FYI, I did eventually receive Fishin's fake PM.

And yes, I was suspicious of Fishin after a while, but I had already dug my grave by then. Also, when he gave me access to his spreadsheet, I realized that he already knew too much. There's wasn't much I thought I could do.
