Welcome to the Smogon Frontier! Most of you probably remember the last incarnation of this exciting program. It's returning for a third time with many improvements. 12 members of the Smogon staff have been designated Frontier Brains.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
* NEW - All frontier brain accounts will not be modded on Smogon University. Lookup brains under the first letter of their title.
* You must demonstrate good sportsmanship during your challenge. Any user who does not act in a sportsmanlike manner, as judged by Kevin Garrett, will be subject to symbol removal or disqualification.
* In order to give everyone a fair chance, sign-ups will be open for 15 days. There will be no limit to the amount of trainers challenging the Smogon Frontier during this time. Challengers will only have 30 days to conquer all 12 brains before this edition ends.
* If there is an open spot to challenge the Smogon Frontier and you wish to participate, you must sign up by posting here. Registration opens Sunday, 12 July 2009 at 7:00 PM EST. In your post, include the following information:

* If you are admitted to participate in the Smogon Frontier as one of the active challengers, congratulations! Your next step is to challenge one of the Frontier Brains listed above.
* If you have challenged the Frontier once before during this edition, do not sign up again.
* There is no set order with which you must challenge the Smogon Frontier. You are encouraged to play any brain that you see on the server. IF YOU DO NOT "RUN INTO" BRAINS REGULARLY ENOUGH, YOU MUST SCHEDULE A MATCH VIA FORUM PM.
* Any Frontier Brain may choose to decline any challenge for any reason, at any time, without explanation.
* Challengers must have at least one (1) official Smogon Frontier battle per week. Challengers also have a maximum of 30 days from admission to the program to complete their challenge. Failure to remain active will result in removal from the program. Exceptions to this rule may be granted when deemed appropriate by the Frontier Brains.
* All battles, with the exception of the Arcade Star, will be standard OU matches subject to the prevailing rules of the standard ladder.
* Contests with the Arcade Star are structured as a "best of three" series of randbats, or challenge cup battles. These must all occur consecutively, in one sitting. Level balance must be in effect and evasion/ohko moves are allowed if you happen to get them.
* Players are allowed two rematches during their challenge of the Smogon Frontier. Rematches may be conducted no sooner than 24 hours following the challenger's original defeat.
* All Smogon Frontier Challengers are ineligible to rematch a Smogon Frontier Brain to whom they have lost until they have played all remaining Frontier Brains.
* Any challenger that loses 3 matches has failed and will be removed.
* Challengers must battle on the name with which they registered for the Frontier in order for matches to be counted as official.
* Frontier Brains must battle on those names prefixed with their official title in order for matches to be counted as official (i.e. Tower Tycoon Kevin, etc.)
* Spectating Official Frontier Battles will be permitted at the discretion of the respective Brain.
* All battle results must be reported to Kevin Garrett, I will be responsible for updating results on the site. Battle results are subject to confirmation by the Frontier Brains.
* I reserve the right to revoke any symbols won through deception or obvious exploitation of rule loopholes.
* A mystery prize awaits any trainer who conquers the Smogon Frontier by collecting all twelve symbols! Nobody has EVER defeated the Smogon Frontier... will you be the first one?
