List of Badged Users

Something I think would be nice to have to go along with Badge FAQ is a list of all the users who have the badge. There is already a list of Moderators and the like to PM in certain situations, but if, say, you wanted your team rated, you could find a list of all the people with the Team Rate Badge and ask them (kindly) to rate your team. It could also act as sort of a way to recognize groups of users and show who is involved where.

I don't know how people will react to this, but I think something like this would be nice to have. And of course, this is only a suggestion.

I believe that lots of people generally say that they can do X task in their sigs.

I realize that. I was just giving an example of how it could be useful. Also, if they have the badge, you know you would be getting a quality rate or whatever you are asking them for.

I was aware of the Forum Leaders. Not everybody is listed there. For example, Franky has a Team Rater badge, but he isn't a Mod in RMT.

Edit: If this were also to be done for the Alumnus badges, it would be another way of thanking and for people to see who has helped in the past, especially if they aren't posting / active anymore.

Forum leaders used to include the lists of users who held each badge. We found it to be cluttered and generally unhelpful. In the one situation it may be helpful (the team rater, which you cite) is already covered by the RMT forum. Those users are not obligated to rate teams that are sent to them. Rather they pick and choose from the forum.

I'll leave this open in case another admin or mod wants to comment.

Don't we have a list already in IS? I see no problem releasing that

I know that I would have liked to be able to be able to see list of badgeholders before I had IS access, mostly for curiosity, and even the IS list does not yet include Alumni badgeholders. The badge FAQ seems like the perfect place to put it, it could be seen as untidy but it does give somewhat helpful information that is otherwise annoying to track down (especially for non badgeholders).

My thinking exactly.

There's no point in having a static list of badgeholders that we have to update manually, like in a thread or something. If we publish one it will have to be updated dynamically, but I don't want to clutter forum leaders either; that's a functional page with a specific purpose (finding forum staff when you need them).

I do realize it would be annoying to update it everytime someone is badged. I still think it would be nice to have around, and visible to the un-badged.

I second that sentiment. Also, it would likely save a lot of effort as soon as it is implemented, if such an addition should occur. I don;t know how difficult an auto-updater would be to program, but I think it would probably be very useful in the long run.

I actually suggested this already here. I think users would like to have this to see who has each badge but it's not really necessary.

It's funny because I had never seen this thread, but I was wanting to make a thread about it myself. AKA: I think this is a good idea if it can be made to not clutter up anything.

It's probably not necessary, but it would be nice for non-badged users.
