Spike'n it up.

status: one set done, another partially done

[Overview]

  • Similar to Skorupi and Spinarak, who share the same typing
  • Access to both Spikes and Toxic Spikes separates it
  • Of the three, Fushide is the weakest attacker
  • Hard Roller's high flinch rate and Poison Point can make it annoying to fight
  • Overall below average Pokemon, but it has its perks
[Set]

name: Supportipede
move 1: Spikes
move 2: Toxic Spikes
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Payback / Hidden Power Fire
item: Berry Juice
ability: Poison Point
nature: Impish / Hardy
evs: 196 HP / 44 Def / 204 SpD / 64 Spe

[Set Comments]

  • Unlike Spinarak and Skorupi, Fushide can provide double Spike support
  • Spikes and Toxic Spikes obviously for team support
  • Poison Jab for powerful STAB
  • Payback hits Ghost-types for super effective damage
  • Hidden Power Fire scores damage on Steel-types, most notable being Tesshiido
  • Impish nature if you are running Payback. Hardy nature is rarely a preferred option on Pokemon, but Fushide doesn't like having any of its stats lowered
[Additional Comments]

  • If you are playing somewhere that Berry Juice is banned, Oran Berry and Bug Bite are great options
  • Works well on both offensive and stall teams
  • Keep Fushide alive as long as you can, since your opponent may be hiding a Poison-type or a spinner to remove all of its hard work
  • Barboach and Heatproof Bronzor are great teammates, resisting Fushide's main weaknesses, although Bronzor must watch out since most Pokemon that carry Rock-type moves also carry Ground-type moves
  • A spinner is recommended to use alongside Fushide
[Set]

name: Agilipede
move 1: Agility
move 2: Hard Roller
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Hidden Power Fire / Hidden Power Ice
item: Life Orb
ability: Swarm
nature: Naughty
evs: 240 Atk / 40 SpA / 224 Spe

[Set Comments]

  • Skorupi and Spinarak do this overall better, but its still a decent option on Fushide
  • Hard Roller is Fushide's only way of distinguishing itself from Skorupi and Spinarak. It's 30% chance of flinching the opponent is enough to tear some hair out
  • Poison Jab is Fushide's strongest physical STAB
  • Hidden Power Fire scores hits on Tesshiido and Bronzor while Hidden Power Ice puts a massive dent in Gligar
[Additional Comments]

  • Rapid Spin support is recommended
  • Stealth Rock and / or Spikes support is also nice, so Ishizumai, Omanyte, Bronzor or Tesshiido would be a good teammate
[Team Options]

  • Barboach, Mantyke and Heatproof Bronzor cover most of Fushide's weaknesses very well. Mantyke needs to watch out for Rock-type moves, though
  • Spinners such as Squirtle and Baltoy are good teammates
  • Offensive sets appreciate Stealth Rock and Spikes support
  • Dual Screens is never bad to have, but Fushide doesn't absolutely need them
[Optional Changes]

  • Evolution Stone is a decent option on the Supportipede set
  • It can run Choice Scarf, but it really lacks power without a boost from Life Orb
  • Venom Shock is a gimmicky but somewhat effective option on sets with Toxic Spikes
[Counters]

  • Aron can take on Fushide with impunity
  • Without Hidden Power Ice, Gligar laughs at Fushide. Without Hidden Power Fire, Tesshiido scoffs at Fushide's feeble assaults
  • Croagunk can absorb Toxic Spikes and resists both its STAB, but Vacuum Wave does near nothing
  • Zuruggu is a fairly good counter
[Dream World]

Giving Quick Feet to a physical attacker who can't be poisoned and learns Agility? Brilliant!
