Level-Balance Tournament Round 3

During the suspect test process many users brought up the theory that there could be a balanced metagame without Pokemon bans so long as restrictions were placed on each Pokemon. This tournament will test that theory through the simplest method of restricting stronger Pokemon--higher tiered Pokemon can only be used a lower level.

Rules:

  • 4th Generation

  • All Pokemon can be used, with the exception of Arceus

  • Pokemon used can be used at a level up to and including that designated for the tier they reside in (If any tier changes occur during the course of the tournament, the new tier lists will be used). Levels were calculated by taking the mean BST of all Pokemon contained in each tier and taking the ratio of mean NU BST to the mean BST of the respective tier. Maximum levels and mean BST are as follows:

  • Each round will be best of 3 battles, with most deadlines being one week. One exception is the first round, which will be two weeks to allow players time to construct an initial team. Changing teams between battles is allowed.

  • 1 Hit KO Clause
  • Evasion Clause
  • Species Clause
  • Self-KO Clause
  • Timed Battle
*Soul Dew is not banned as Latios and Latias are subject to the Uber level restriction

Lost against Ciele 2-1. Thought I had the last battle until my Nidoqueen's Poison Point poisoned one of his pokes which miraculously allowed him to win in the end coming down to a 1-1 PP war. (I also blame myself for not taking my team in building my teams because the errors in the team became a big factor in the game)

Yeah, confirming. In fairness, the chances of it poisoning were pretty big since I used so many attacks, but it was still a pretty cruel way to lose. Good games all the same.
