BLACKLISTED Status

Hi, I noticed that some members who are Blacklisted still try to initiate trades or battles with others, whom maybe new or unaware of their Blacklist status. I propose a indicator around their avatar somewhere, that says BLACKLISTED similar to the "I could be banned!!" status. It would make it easier for members to identify blacklisted members, and also reinforces their punishment. Opinions on this proposal?

It really wouldn't be that hard to just give blacklisted people custom titles, but since it's been rejected twice before, I doubt you'll have much success.

Are pms sent to offenders by the Wifi Moderators? If they aren't, then that would help in the case if they are plain unaware, since users are notified of all messages.

Being a newbie myself, I don't know who's blacklisted and who isn't.. A Blacklisted status would really help me; it'd be so much easier than going and searching the Blacklisted thread every time someone wants to trade with me. XP

I use the WiFi forum pretty frequently, and have no inkling about who is blacklisted and who isn't. For all I know, I could be trading with a guy who's on it.

If I'm trading something valuable I MIGHT check, but by and large I don't. Could I? Yeah, really easily. But it's not the most convenient thing in the world.

If the idea is to prevent people who are blacklisted from doing ANY trades, they should definitely have a custom ID or a title or something.

If the idea is to prevent people who are blacklisted from 'serious' trading, like participating in trade threads/giveaways, I think most of the proprietors of those threads know to check the blacklist extensively. It's not something I do though, so I can't say for certain.

The main problem is that it takes an admin to edit one's usergroup (say to require a bold custom "BLACKLISTED" title). We don't have many of those.

Couldn't a user group be made where blacklisted users can't post in Wi-Fi? Similar to a Fireban.
Some members that are on the blacklist try to get off it by showing that they can contribute to the WiFi community and will not do any blacklistable offenses again. Making it so they can't post removes any chance for them to try and redeem themselves.

So how about CUSTOM TITLES. It takes like no seconds to do, easy to remove, and doesn't require hardly anything.

Don't feel like it.

Additionally, don't feel like dealing with people who could give a rats ass about wifi, but do want to have a l33t custom title, even if it says they are an asshole, going there to intentionally get blacklisted.

Too much trouble.

Burden of checking if someone is blacklisted rests on the shoulders of those who wish to trade and battle over wifi. The moderators there spend a LOT of time maintaining the list. Users need to go the extra mile and ... use it.
