@Rey: Yeah I think I took the wrong year for the Spanish standings, I must learn to read. Oh well it was a fun exercise and the results are in:

Premier League: 36
La Liga: 19
Bundesliga: 22
Serie A: 19

OK the result might be a bit biased cos we mainly talk about PL in this thread but until there's a more scientific way to do it (or an epic European master league tournament type thing) then the official Smogon 2013/2014 Soccer/Football Thread verdict is Premier League is the strongest league, followed by Bundesliga and La Liga and Serie A tied in third! That I think is a result!

In other news: Anzhi's owner lost a lot of money and decided he wasn't bothered anymore (Willian to PL?); Suarez wants out and probs will hand in a transfer request; Rooney the same; Wenger still hasn't done shit; and apparently Dzeko is first choice striker at City (why sign Negredo then? o_o)

Dzeko if he actually got a consistent run out is the 4th best striker in the league (RVP, Suarez, Aguero) and an easy 20 goal a league season striker.

He'll probably go on loan to a mediocre team and single-handedly (footedly?) nearly earn them a spot in Europe... again.

Shakhtar Donetsk sign Bernard for 25 million euros. Disappointing for the hopeful Arsenal fans.

And @phalanx, that will only happen if we are successful in signing Rooney which I both hope and think will not happen.

Heard a rumor that Wenger is interested in Luiz Gustavo. Personally I've always been a fan of this guy so it would be great to have him, he's a class midfielder.
