The spam is getting really rediculous lately, so I thought I might suggest a second type of chat silence...

With this new chat silence, players with a certain rank and a certain amout of games played (you decide) would still be able to talk.

    Just a thought I had.

The primary offender would most likely bypass the script anyways.

Not sure how that could be if it was done with server side checks.

Rank/Games played is stored on the server.

What blarajan said. If you want something "safer" for intelligent pokemon discussion I suggest joining #pokemon on IRC. You can find how to set it up on the Smogon homepage by clicking on the IRC link.

i'm pretty sure nysyr is talking about the equivalent of channel mode +m on irc, which actually would solve a spam problem.

skarmpiss is able to bypass scripts. We tried something similar to this before, but it failed.
