"Hey hey, and welcome all to the ASB Arena! Word got out quick about this challenge, and the stadium is packed! Frosty and Zarator will be dueling it out in a massive six versus six bout, full of well-trained and fearsome Pokemon. On one side, we have Zarator's Dusknoir and Sableye, two powerful ghosts leading a full team of tried-and-true Pokemon. Frosty brought with him, among others, a Gardevoir and Deoxys to toss around Zarator's Pokemon with psychic attacks!

"There we go. Now that I'm safe from Gardevoir's painful auditory attacks, lets get on with the match!

Ezio takes a defensive stance as it prepares for an attack, Sune responding in kind with a Moonblast straight to its noggin. Of course, Ezio is unfazed, using its noggin to smack Sune right in the gut! Looks painful. Sune takes a moment to make sure the Porygon can't use its tricks, like Pain Split, but Ezio has other plans, charging a huge beam, propelling a ball of dark energy right at the Gardevoir! With Adaptability and Download, the attack looks like it left a huge mark!

Sune ends the round with its signature Hyper Voice attack, striking while Ezio is recovering from that expensive attack."

I always treat damaging combinations as one move, using only the final type to activate substitutions.

  • Damaging [Type] Combinations: All combinations that are of [Type] will activate the substitution. NOTE: A damaging [Type] combination activates a substitution for damaging [Type] moves.
I use this to come to that conclusion, since it (at least, to me) implies that a damaging combo is treated as one single move for the purpose of these two sub categories.

If I'm wrong about this and it's written somewhere that I'm a silly goof, then let me know.

"Frosty commands Fidgit to pull one of its classic tricks, goading the Gardevoir into predicting the Stealth Rock, which flew straight threw her Magic Coat and struck her on all sides! This lowered her speed, and despite hurting the Fidgit very badly with that Psychic attack, Fidgit dodges an attack with ease, digging underground and avoiding it entirely. Stealth Rocks give Frosty a big advantage in this match, but the cost to get them up wasn't small. Even if the tricks used were clever..."
