A Battle Story Without Stall!

This is my very first Battle Story, so I hope you like it. When I faced this person, I did not ask if he/she minds if I make this a War Story, so I switched out the user name with OPPONENT.
I know you would rather read the War Story than an intro, so here you go:

My Team*:

Porygon2 (Mr. Roboto)/Gengar (Shadow)/Lucario (I'm obligated to have one)/Dugtrio (Revenge)/Heatran (This is a...?)/Swampert (Swamp Monster!)

OPPONENT's Team*:

Tauros/Heracross/Spiritomb/Starmie/Celebi/Swampert

*Both shown in order they were presented.

Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause

vs

OPPONENT sent out Tauros (lvl 100 Tauros).
Aura_Lucario sent out Mr. Roboto (lvl 100 Porygon2).
Tauros's intimidate cut Mr. Roboto's attack!
Mr. Roboto traced Tauros's Intimidate!
Mr. Roboto's intimidate cut Tauros's attack!
OPPONENT switched in Heracross (lvl 100 Heracross).
Mr. Roboto used Thunderbolt.
Heracross lost 35% of its health.
Heracross is paralysed! It may be unable to move!

Great. I start out this battle having no idea what a Tauros is capable of doing, and I end up paralyzing a Heracross that probably has Guts. The good part is that I do know that he will use Close Combat, so that’s why I switch to my next Pokémon…

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in Shadow (lvl 100 Gengar).
Heracross used Close Combat.
It doesn't affect Shadow...

Not too much to explain here. I switch to my best fight resist, knowing that Heracross is either Scarf’d or Banded, like most of them are.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Spiritomb (lvl 100 Spiritomb).
Spiritomb is exerting its pressure!
Shadow used Shadow Ball.
Spiritomb lost 78% of its health.
Spiritomb's special defence was lowered.
Spiritomb's leftovers restored its health a little!
Spiritomb restored 6% of its health.

Hmm…Shadow Ball took a nice chunk of damage out of my Spiritomb’s HP. Since I have never encountered a Spiritomb, at this point, I was sure I could finish his entire team off with my max attack Gengar that was wearing his stylish Choice Specs (except for Tauros of course).

vs

Spiritomb used Sucker Punch.
It's super effective!
Shadow lost 100% of its health.
Aura_Lucario's Shadow fainted.
Spiritomb's leftovers restored its health a little!
Spiritomb restored 6% of its health.

5-6

…Or on the other hand, I could not finish off his team and I could end up losing one of the most powerful Pokémon on my team. I was thinking about using my Dugtrio for the trap revenge kill, but I am not sure if Sucker Punch would OHKO my Duggy and I need him for later in this match when I can guarantee some KO’s. Since I’m not doing too good, I switch out my Lucario, knowing a Sucker Punch won’t take out this Pokémon.

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in I'm obligated to have one (lvl 100 Lucario).
I'm obligated to have one used Swords Dance.
I'm obligated to have one's attack was sharply raised.
Spiritomb used Will-o-wisp.
I'm obligated to have one was burned!
I'm obligated to have one was hurt by its burn!
I'm obligated to have one lost 12% of its health.
Spiritomb's leftovers restored its health a little!
Spiritomb restored 6% of its health.

Not what I was hoping for at all, but I can take that. I have Swords Dance, so I’m not too worried about the burn, excluding the 12% loss of HP each turn.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Starmie (lvl 100 Starmie).
I'm obligated to have one used Swords Dance.
I'm obligated to have one's attack was sharply raised.
I'm obligated to have one was hurt by its burn!
I'm obligated to have one lost 12% of its health.

Here I was thinking that even though Starmie has good defenses, I will be able to take it out with my Lucario, so I keep it in, readying a mighty blow.

vs

I'm obligated to have one used Extremespeed.
Starmie lost 68% of its health.
I'm obligated to have one lost 10% of its health.
Starmie used Psychic.
I'm obligated to have one lost 61% of its health.
I'm obligated to have one was hurt by its burn!
I'm obligated to have one lost 4% of its health.
Aura_Lucario's I'm obligated to have one fainted.

4-6

Wynaut. I guess I should probably run some damage calcs soon to see how much my Pokémon do to other ones.

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in Revenge (lvl 100 Dugtrio).
Revenge used Sucker Punch.
It's super effective!
Starmie lost 32% of its health.
OPPONENT's Starmie fainted.
Revenge lost 10% of its health.

4-5

As far as I know, Starmie gets no priority moves since I have never seen any, so I am fine with bringing out my Dugtrio to beat this Pokémon like I always do.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Aura_Lucario switched in This is a...? (lvl 100 Heatran).
Celebi used Heal Bell.

I can’t let my Dugtrio take a Grass Knot. While I do have Sucker Punch, I don’t know how much it will do to the opposing Celebi so I switch out. Sucker Punch wouldn’t have even worked if I had used it, so I am fine with my decision. My opponent also just gave away his or her Heracross’ item. I know Hera is Scarf’d , otherwise Paralyzation would not be that big of a problem and only make him more dangerous due to Guts.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert).
This is a...? used Fire Blast.
It's not very effective...
Swampert lost 43% of its health.
Swampert was burned!
This is a...? lost 10% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
Swampert was hurt by its burn!
Swampert lost 12% of its health.

A Fire Blast to any Pokémon is going to hurt and I think that that proves it. I have two options. 1) Stay in and Fire Blast the Swampert and let it faint because of the burn damage that occurs or 2) Switch out and make the safe move.

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in Mr. Roboto (lvl 100 Porygon2).
Mr. Roboto traced Swampert's Torrent!
Swampert used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
Swampert was hurt by its burn!
Swampert lost 12% of its health.

I go with option number 2 because I NEED my Heatran in order to take out Celebi. I did not want to risk it, so I switched.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Tauros (lvl 100 Tauros).
Tauros's intimidate cut Mr. Roboto's attack!
Mr. Roboto used Ice Beam.
Tauros lost 50% of its health.

Whoa. I did not know I could do that much to a Tauros. At this point I was thinking I could take whatever Tauros throws at me, so I stay in and hope for the KO.

vs

Tauros used Return.
Mr. Roboto lost 67% of its health.
Mr. Roboto used Ice Beam.
Tauros lost 49% of its health.
Mr. Roboto's leftovers restored its health a little!
Mr. Roboto restored 6% of its health.

3-5

Of course, my luck refuses to let me do 1% more.

vs

Tauros used Return.
Mr. Roboto lost 39% of its health.
Aura_Lucario's Mr. Roboto fainted.

I have to stay in to insure that I would lose the least amount possible. I have Duggy on my team, so as soon as Poygon2 faints, Tauros will bite the Dust(ox).

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in Revenge (lvl 100 Dugtrio).
Pointed stones dug into Revenge.
Revenge lost 6% of its health.
Revenge used Sucker Punch.
Tauros lost 1% of its health.
OPPONENT's Tauros fainted.
Revenge lost 10% of its health.

3-4

Nothing unusual this turn. It all went as planned, so I’m fine.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Aura_Lucario switched in This is a...? (lvl 100 Heatran).
Pointed stones dug into This is a...?.
This is a...? lost 12% of its health.
Celebi used Heal Bell.

HEATRAN GO!!!!!! My opponent used Heal Bell for an amazing reason…not really.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert).
This is a...? used Fire Blast.
It's not very effective...
Swampert lost 38% of its health.
This is a...? lost 10% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

I’ve got this Pokémon done with. No more Swamp Frog Beast Thing to deal with.

vs

This is a...? used Fire Blast.
It's not very effective...
Swampert lost 12% of its health.
OPPONENT's Swampert fainted.
This is a...? lost 10% of its health.

3-3

It’s all happening nicely and I’ve finally evened out the match. My biggest problem is Heracross. My ONLY switch in to that Pokémon at this point is Swampert.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Heracross (lvl 100 Heracross).
Aura_Lucario switched in Swamp Monster! (lvl 100 Swampert).
Pointed stones dug into Swamp Monster!.
Swamp Monster! lost 6% of its health.
Heracross used Close Combat.
Swamp Monster! lost 42% of its health.
Heracross's defence was lowered.
Heracross's special defence was lowered.
Swamp Monster!'s leftovers restored its health a little!
Swamp Monster! restored 6% of its health.

I can see this battle coming to an end, it could go either way at this point, though.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Swamp Monster! used Surf.
It's not very effective...
Celebi lost 13% of its health.
Celebi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Celebi restored 6% of its health.
Swamp Monster!'s leftovers restored its health a little!
Swamp Monster! restored 6% of its health.

Now I know that I have a pretty big chance of winning the game, providing there are no Critical Hits in the process of the battle that remains.

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in This is a...? (lvl 100 Heatran).
Pointed stones dug into This is a...?.
This is a...? lost 12% of its health.
Celebi used Leech Seed.
This is a...? was seeded!
Celebi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Celebi restored 6% of its health.
This is a...?'s health was sapped by leech seed!
This is a...? lost 12% of its health.
Celebi regained health!
Celebi restored 0% of its health.

No my opponent has to choose whether to lose Celebi, Heracross, or Spiritomb. If he/she picks Heracross, then I win, so Celebi has to take the fall.

vs

Celebi used Recover.
This is a...? used Fire Blast.
It's super effective!
Celebi lost 100% of its health.
OPPONENT's Celebi fainted.
This is a...? lost 10% of its health.

3-2

Finally this annoying Grass Alien is down and I have two Pokémon left to fight.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Heracross (lvl 100 Heracross).
Heracross used Close Combat.
It's super effective!
This is a...? lost 23% of its health.
Aura_Lucario's This is a...? fainted.
Heracross's defence was lowered.
Heracross's special defence was lowered.

2-2

Heatran could do absolutely nothing at this point, so like the Grass Alien before it, Heatran too had to take a fall.

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in Swamp Monster! (lvl 100 Swampert).
Pointed stones dug into Swamp Monster!.
Swamp Monster! lost 6% of its health.
OPPONENT switched in Spiritomb (lvl 100 Spiritomb).
Spiritomb is exerting its pressure!
Swamp Monster! used Surf.
A critical hit!
Spiritomb lost 41% of its health.
OPPONENT's Spiritomb fainted.
Swamp Monster!'s leftovers restored its health a little!
Swamp Monster! restored 6% of its health.

2-1

Finally luck begins to work for me.

vs

OPPONENT switched in Heracross (lvl 100 Heracross).
Heracross used Megahorn.
Swamp Monster! lost 42% of its health.
Swamp Monster! used Surf.
Heracross lost 47% of its health.
Swamp Monster!'s leftovers restored its health a little!
Swamp Monster! restored 6% of its health.

I thought for sure that would take care of Heracross. I think that I can still win this, but I am not extremely positive.

vs

Heracross used Megahorn.
Swamp Monster! lost 28% of its health.
Aura_Lucario's Swamp Monster! fainted.

1-1

Only one more move. Will Sucker Punch be enough? I hope so.

vs

Aura_Lucario switched in Revenge (lvl 100 Dugtrio).
Pointed stones dug into Revenge.
Revenge lost 6% of its health.
Revenge used Sucker Punch.
It's not very effective...
Heracross lost 19% of its health.
OPPONENT's Heracross fainted.
Aura_Lucario wins!

It was enough! This was a great battle. We wish each other the traditional “gg” and leave the room.

Props:
Dugtrio for taking out so much of my opponent’s team
Swampert for taking hits like a master and putting Heracross into KO range.
My opponent for the good battle.

Slops:
Lucario for doing next to nothing.
Porygon2 for doing 49% and not 50%

In order to keep up the Smogon standard of good discussion, what do you think either of us could have done better or improved on? Any advice on our teams or move sets?

Honastly it was a meh battle. You screwed up a lot in the beginning. Almost every Spiritomb runs Sucker Punch / Will-O-Wisp and you got caught with both of them.

Pretty good for you're first warstory. Decent roller coaster match.

By the way, always, I mean ALWAYS put choice band on dugtrio so he can trap and kill Blissey. He can take a single Ice beam, so he can 2HKO her.

The only problem with that is Dugtrio rarely 2HKO's a Max/Max Blissey.

I still love Duggy though.

The problem with Choice Band Dugtrio is that it's vulnerable to Pursuit users. If you Aerial Ace a Heracross, Tyranitar could Pursuit you to death. If you Earthquake Tyranitar, Heracross could Pursuit you to death. So I'd say that Choice Band is only necessary on "FUCK OFF, BLISSEY" special attacking teams.

That's sums up why I put Life Orb on it. I have several methods of dealing with Blissey, so while I would like the extra 20% attack boost, I don't want to risk being stuck with doing one move on such a fragile Pokemon that's easily taken down by Pursuit.
