"Greetings, thrill seekers. My name is Cheyenne, and I will be your host as you make your way through perils and plights. I hope you two have got your thinking caps on snug and your imaginations kicked into gear! I expect us to have a grand time."
"Before we send you off into the heat of adventure, let's go over some of the rules- as well as look over your profiles. Shall we, gents?"

1) Mowtom and Stary02939 have a DQ time of 3 days, and Glacier Knight Cheyenne has a DQ time of 5 days to keep things rolling. The best way to experience the wonder and challenge of Adventure Battles is to be on time and keep up a brisk pace, so keep that in mind!
2) This campaign will be using some special mechanics that are noted in the AB general thread. You may want to read up on them, if you haven't already.
3) In combat, you get two substitutions per round.
4) You and your pokemon get to equip items.
5) All abilities are available, except those locked or accessible only by mega evolution.
6) You can use as many recoveries or chills as you like, provided the ill wind count is not at zero
7) While Cheyenne cannot punish you for skipping on the flavor, it is highly recommended that you avoid doing so at all costs; If you want a flavor-less roleplay, you should sign up for a battle hall challenge and quickly be on your way

"And now, our rising stars! Let's get a little insight as to who we are going to be watching undertake the mysteries of the Adventure Battles!"

Human [Mowtom] (M)

Mowtom isn't quite sure how he is able to fight alongside his Pokemon. One day he just woke up and discovered his talent. He was astounded, and went to brag to other trainer he knew immediately. What he didn't realize? He is far from the first to have this ability, and with great power comes...you know what? You know the rest.

Type: Normal / Fighting
  • Normal STAB; +1 BAP on attacks that match dominant arena type after 3 actions. Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.
  • Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.
Abilities: Scrappy / Technician / Mold Breaker
  • This Human's Normal and Fighting attacks carry a special signature that can damage Ghosts, even if they have phased out.
  • This Human is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two-hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack that has its BAP increased by Technician is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.
  • Whenever this Human attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action. For a full list of affected abilities, see http://pastebin.com/sMzktgbV

Reuniclus [Bubble] (F)

Mowtom found Bubble while traveling in the Unova region. Her mother belonged to Catlin of the Elite Four, but Bubble wanted to see the world. She did inherit one thing from her mother's trainer, however. Bubble enjoys battling, but she can have trouble staying awake, even during a battle.

Type: Psychic
  • Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Overcoat / Magic Guard / Regenerator (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. The Pokemon is also immune to "Powder" moves. (Full List: Cotton Spore, Poison Powder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, Stun Spore.) If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather, or powder attacks by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).
  • This Pokemon is infused with a powerful psycho-electric energy that makes it immune to damage from Spikes, Stealth Rock, Hail, Sandstorm, Leech Seed, Poisoning, Burn, and Partial Trapping moves. It can still attack itself in confusion, and will still take damage from it. Additionally, the energy protects the Pokemon from its own reckless recoil attacks. Toxic still increases in damage each round, although if Magic Guard is in effect the Pokemon will not suffer any damage. Life Orb recoil is negated.
  • When this Pokemon is switched out during a switch battle, it reacts to the energy in the Pokeball and (ten) 10 HP is restored. When this Pokemon Chills, it restores six (6) HP in addition to its 12 Energy.

"These Trainers seem ready for a long and hard journey! And those pokemon seem quite formidable! That Reuniclus... IS SO CUTE~<3! But can they withstand the mysteries of Mt. Coronet and Walker?"

"Let's find out now, shall we friends~?"

__________________________________________________________
Chapter 1: In the Caves

While most trainers that come from the region of Smogon control their Pokémon, there is one exception: Walker, the Eternal Drifter. Missing for over half a year, search teams dried up, especially once he was spotted with a Natu in turn at a shopping mall, a cave, and a battlefield, all very briefly. But his state when others encountered him showed him to be deteriorating, and Demon Lord Itsumo is known to be chasing the trainer for his own reasons.

Which is why, when Walker was spotted in the caverns in Mt Coronet, that two trainers and their Pokémon were sent to try to bring him to safety back in the Smogon region.

However, with the general increase of hostility of Pokémon all around, the trainers had better be on their guard...

Location: Southern Sinnoh, on the edges of the Mt. Coronet mountain range
Music: Wildwood Whimsy

The area of Mt. Coronet that Walker was spotted in is no longer open to the public, due to events ranging from slightly ominous to down-right life endangering occurring in those deep, twisting tunnels. However, through some combination of luck or having the right connection and know how, you and your expedition mate have made it to the right place:
Though you find yourself at one of the most southern points of Sinnoh, the mountain ridges are thick with Spruces and Douglas firs; while nearly all the Mt. Coronet range is classified as an Alpine Biome, these southern parts are strangers to the harsh winter blizzards and pounding snow falls its northern brethren experience. You stocked up in Pastoria City, and then trekked through the thicker parts of the swamp to make it to the continental divide- though you havent seen a wooper or thick mud for at least a day or two. You are definitely in a different climate zone, as you stare at the foreboding entrance of the cavern system. The tunnel itself is fairly small- perhaps ten feet tall at the most, with a narrow width of seven or so feet. The surrounding mountainside is craggy, though it abruptly juts skyward as you get closer to the cavern entrance... definitely cant (or would want to) scale it. As you wait or prepare to enter the cavern, you can hear the surrounding flora and fauna loud and clear; that flock of starvia was no match for you and your pokemon, yet you could tell they were much more agitated than usual. While you havent been confronted or ambushed just yet, it would be best not to dilly dally....

Mowtom and Stary02939 have 3 days to post opening flavor / talk to each other. Once the both explorers decide and act to enter the cave, or the 3 days have passed without a word, the Adventure Battle will truly begin. Best wishes~

Spr_DP_Pok%C3%A9mon_Ranger_M.png

"A cave, eh? I can't say I love being underground, but I suppose that can't be helped.
I could levitate and see what's up there that we can't climb to. But then it seems
awfully early to split up. So, Mowtom? Shall we enter the cave?"
infernape.png

"Hell yeah! Let's get in there!"

"You're not Mowtom, are you?"

*Grumbles* "Well, no ... but still!"

*Sighs* "Impatient as always. We need to - hey, get back here!"

*Is already in the cave* "Hurry up, slowpoke!"

"Damn it, get back here or I swear I'll return you to your Pokéball and-"

*Reappears instantly*
"Thank you, Cheeky. Mowtom, we are ready when you are."

*Nods a little too enthusiastically*

Spr_HGSS_Silver.png
"Watch out, Cheeky. Bubble is the strongest of the four of us, and she WILL Psychically stop you if you get out of control."
reuniclus.gif
*yawn* "I don't want to, because that takes a lot of energy. But I will."
Spr_HGSS_Silver.png
"If that's settled, Stary, let's go."

The party comes together and welcomes one another; Cheeky seems to be hyped up on energy drinks, while in contrast Bubble seems to be one yawn away from passing out. Quite the interesting team, indeed.

And Onward they move!

Cave Area 1: Entrance

Your party enters Mt. Coronet, and is immediately pulled into the inky darkness- you can't see at thing after a few yards. Due to his unique composition, Stary finds himself able to see a little better than the rest of his party, so he leads with Cheeky behind him. The Party goes through the first tunnel for about 6 minutes, the path going lower and lower into the mountain the farther it winds.

Finally, Stary alerts the group they've reached a cavern chamber. The team spreads out and can stand side by side, though the darkness prohibits you from knowing what exactly is down here...

or WHAT is down here, as a quick gasp of shock and the shuffling of feet alerts you to look somehwere ahead of you.

You are not alone.

What do you do?

Cave Area 1: Entrance

Mowtom, not particularly interested in going throughout this whole adventure blind, asks his Reuniclus to brighten up the cave a little bit; Bubble lets out another leisurely yawn, before clasping her hands together.

Closing her eyes, Bubble focuses for a short second, and small pulses of light course through her body- they spring into existence from her center bone and quicjly bounce from ball to ball until they meet at the ends of her hands. The space between her hands glows brightly, and Bubble loosens her grip to allow more room for a ball of light to appear. As she finishes, the room is suddenly quite visible, as your party can see pretty much everything there is to see.

The small chamber is about 200 feet by 200 feet, with a 10 foot flat ceiling. The floor is level and littered with rocks or various shapes... and some kind of glitter? the flashing ball of light bubble created sends all corners of the chamber dazzling in shimmering sparkles due to the glitter. In back of the cave you make out a number of tunnels... maybe two? three? you arent quite sure.

In the center of the chamber are two small Clefairy, holding hands and standing in front of a peculiar rock spire (3 feet tall and about 2 feet thick, shaped a little like a chimney stack). They seem cautious and little nervous about your party.

this is literally the 4th ASB thing within the past week where I was working on a thing, decided not to spend extra hours late in the middle of the night, choosing to finish it in the morning, and when wake up to being tagged to finish it ;_____;

Should be up soon Stary02939

Cave Area 1: Entrance

Before the party can communicate with the Clefairy twins, Stary's Intimidate sinks in! Stary tries to come off as warm and reassure the little pokemon, but...

35.png
35.png

"Eep! SCARY RANGER MAN! HIDE HIDE!"
"EEP! Get small, sis! Scary Ragner man can't hurt us if we are small!"

[Stary's Intimidate set Clefairy1's Atk at -1!]
[Stary's Intimidate set Clefariy2's Atk at -1!]

The Infernape tries to get in front of his owner and talk the Clefairies down, but they are too worked up; the fear from intimidation has sent them into a tizzy, as they quickly shrink down to an impossible size, then run behind the center rock. You get closer to the rock, close enough to see them curling up in defense behind the stone, shaking and balled up close to one another.

[Clefairy1 used Defense Curl to curl up into a small ball! +1 Defense, -4EN]
[Clefairy2 used Defense Curl to curl up into a small ball! +1 Defense, -4EN]

Well... that wasn't very good. Bubbles tries to communicate with the clefairies, since they can't really ignore a psychic talk....

<<Hello, we need your help. Can you show us the way to go?>>

The speech enters the Clefairies minds, but they don't pay much attention. They will probably need to be calmed down before they will be of much use... or if you don't have the patience, you could probably instill more fear and force them to help you.

What do you do?

Cave Area 1: Entrance

[Bubble -1EN due to holding the Flash!]

Mowtom gives out a peeved sigh, then urges Stary and Cheeky back outside of the caves.
"We need to give them space. Let Bubble take care of things."

Stary, slightly embarrassed about the consequences his Intimidate has yielded, quickly follows the other trainer outside, Cheeky in tote. This leaves the cavern empty, bar the cowering Clefairies and the yawning Reuniclus. Bubble tries to appear more charming to the clefairies, and it might work... if the clefairies will look at her. Instead they stay behind the rock, balled up and holding each other tightly.

Bubble decides to speak to them again, in a softer voice.

<<Can you tell me which way to go, please?>>

But once again, your vague questions don't seem to help. The clefairies are still afraid of your party, but maybe if you got their attention, they would see its just Bubble in the cave with them, and that she is all charmed up.

Outside, the majority of the party is greeted by the sun setting past the mountain. The forest surrounding them seems to have grown much darker, and seems a little unsettling... Let's hope you don't have to stay out here much longer.

[GLACIERNOTE: its best to type out what exactly you want to say to the clefairies, so I can copy and paste them in my updates, and I dont have to guess what you wanted to say exactly. this also works for another other encounters or talking interactions in the future]
[DOUBLEGLACIERNOTE: Mowtom you need to make sure you specify whether Bubble is to hold the Flash up each time you post actions. I let this round slide since I assume you want flash to stay up. Next time if you don't specify that Bubble is keeping it up, it goes out.]

"I'm sure Bubble will tell me when we can go back in."

*yawn* "Oh, you've got to be kidding me. Clefairies, listen. It's only me, and I'm a really nice Pokemon who is lost and needs help. I'm going to come behind your rock now, could you please, pretty please, help me?"
[BE A LIGHT BULB] Say that to Clefairies~If they don't come out, slowly, gently float to where they are behind the rock

Cave Area 1: Entrance

[Bubble is maintaining the Flash Beacon! -1EN]

Still not responding at all to her attempts at communication, Bubble grumbles a little to herself, then waits. The silence is great in the cavern, and after about 7 minutes, Reuniclus notices little pink ears and eyes peering over the rock. Bubble took her shot.

<<Clefairies, listen. It's only me, and I'm a really nice Pokemon who is lost and needs help. I'm going to come behind your rock now, could you please, pretty please, help me?>>

As Bubble spoke, she floated ever so closer to the center rock where the Clefairies sought refuge, careful not to go too fast. It seemed as though luck was on her side now, as the small pink pokemon had time to fall out of panic. They both peeked out from their hiding spot, opposite ends of the rock.

<<...Sis, its just the Jelly thing. Scary Ranger is gone.>>
<<...Jelly thing, where is Scary Ranger? Why are you lost? Cave exit is there!>>

The smaller Clefairy whispers to who is apparently her sister, while the bigger one talks to Bubble directly, pointing at the Mt. Coronet Entrance/Exit and looking a little confused. You might want to explain what you are doing here and what you want to find, as Clefairy aren't mindreaders like Bubble.

Outside, the sun has finally dipped down past the moutains and is out of sight, leaving the rest of your party in the dark. Faint hues of yellow outline the ridges of Mt. Coronet, but the rest of the sky is now a pallet of dark blues and purples, with some of the closest stars lighting up. You eyes suddenly lock onto a sharp rustling ahead of you, in the alpine forest. Cheeky hops up and down erratically, while the two Trainers ready for the worst. You might want to enter the Mountain soon...

What do you do?
