Balanced Standard OU

Hey there guys. I've spent countless hours finding pokemon specifically for a team that I'd enjoy. I like offense, so I tried to have it slightly more tilted towards that direction, and I also like to have several different types within my team, so this is where this team came from.

Team:

628.png
531.png
149.png
213.png
609.png

Blaze Broom (Darmanitan) (M) @ Life Orb
584.png

Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Superpower

This guy is an awesome physical sweeper, especially because of his wide array of types in his moves. He's mainly based on power, as his defense isn't too great, but with sheer force, life orb and a HUGE attack, he can deal massive damage to any pokemon weak to his attacks or with low physical defense.

BallsO'Spike (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers
628.png

Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)

- Protect
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn is an awesome addition to any team, as he only has a small amount of types that can damage him greatly, and he has amazing defense, especially with the added EVs and his nature. He's great to easily switch in and set up a leech seed, and maybe let off a Gyro Ball or Powerwhip.

MoustacheMan (Samurott) (M) @ Life Orb
531.png

Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Taunt

I absolutely LOVE starter pokemon, and when I needed a water pokemon with high special attack, I immediately thought of Samurott. He, similar to my Blaze Broom (Darmanitan), has an amazing moveset that can affect nearly every pokemon possible. Against nearly any pokemon, Samurott can deal a huge amount of damage.

Citrus (Dragonite) (M) @ Lum Berry
149.png

Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Roost
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage

Oh my god. Where should I even start with Citrus? He, like any Dragonite, has pretty good stats to start with, but combined with his EVs, he's a beast. I can get in usually 3 dragon dances before even getting to half health, then use fire punch or outrage till he's low health and then just roost and repeat. (see what I did there? like rinse and repeat? ;)) His only problem is that ice-type moves can OHKO him quite frequently.

ShellWall (Shuckle) (M) @ Leftovers
213.png

Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)

- Toxic
- Rest
- Encore
- Stealth Rock

Shuckle. To the untrained, he's just a cute little turtle who seems like he can't do much at all but a quick look at his stats will make you think differently. With some of, if not the highest defense and special defense available out of every pokemon, he is quite a beastly competitor. You can see that he has terribly low attack stats, hence why he is my status inflicter/staller. He has Toxic and Stealth Rock, both very useful moves to deal damage over long periods of time. He also has rest, allowing him to heal at low health, and finally encore, incase the opponent uses a stat boosting move and I want shuckle to rest, then I can just make them use non-damaging moves for the next few turns while he's healed.

Fetus (Reuniclus) (M) @ Life Orb
609.png

Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)

- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Reuniclus has a horrid speed stat, and with my nature and EVs, it's being put even lower then it originally was, but he still is a beast. He has AMAZING special attack, and decent defenses, meaning he's a great special sweeper while still maintaining some of that bulk that has made walls so popular. Also, with his Magic Guard ability, he can easily abuse Life Orb without having to worry about the recoil damage. Back to his terrible speed, he comes with trick room, allowing him to out-speed (sort of) nearly any pokemon in the whole OU tier. He's one of my favourite sweepers, and I'd never think about taking him from my team, despite his horrible typing.

TR as a boost for a single pokemon you have, along with several mediocre speed pokemon... recipe for team inconsistency. Faster teams roll over you until you bring out TR, and then you you get rolled by their anti-trick roomer.

Stealth Rocks kills Multiscale, leaving Dragonite killed by the first ice shard or ice beam that hits it.

Shuckle as a SRer w/o a spinblocker is bad news. And it's complete taunt bait.

Hello, I looked at your team and noticed a few problems.

First of all, you really should replace samurott with jellicent. You have two extremely effective entry hazards that will allow dragonite to sweep, meaning you probably want to keep them on the field. Jellicent has perfect defensive synergy with ferrothorn, and can protect the entry hazards that shuckle and ferry lay down.

here is the set:
593.gif

Jellicent
Bold | leftovers | 248 HP, 216 Def, 44 Spe
~Scald / Surf
~Will-O-Wisp / Toxic
~Taunt
~Recover

Scald is obligatory STAB, and the chance for burn is always great. If you don't want the burn chance to clash with toxic (if you choose it), a good alternative is surf.

Will-O-Wisp is great for burning annoying physical sweepers. Toxic is great if other tanks/stallers are annoying.

Taunt will stop jellicent from becoming complete set-up bait, as well as stopping slow pokemon from setting up entry hazards

Recover is for healing, because he will need it from all the hits he takes.

Also, you need a revenge killer, so a choice scarf pokemon would be great for the role. Seeing as how you love starters, I suggest replacing darmanitan with choice scarf infernape. It has great coverage, and can revenge kill a variety of weakened pokemon.
Here is the set:
392.gif

Infernape
Choice Scarf | Naive | 108 Atk, 148 S.Atk, 252 Spe
~Flare Blitz / Fire Blast
~Close Combat
~HP Ice / Stone Edge
~U-turn

Flare Blitz is for obligatory STAB. If you don't like the recoil, fire blast is an great alternative.

Close Combat is obligatory STAB, and no one likes focus miss's accuracy.

HP Ice is for revenge killing dragons. Stone Edge is a reliable alternative if you run fire blast, as you might want a better move against volcarona and a move to kill and injured gyarados.

U-turn is so you can gain the upper hand in a match-up, and is great for scouting purposes.

Infernape will be a welcome change to darmanitan and will help revenge kill a variety of threats.

You might also consider switching reuniclus's moveset to a calm mind set because trick room is not beneficial to your team's other members at all.

Also, change shuckle's item to chesto berry. chesto-rest is a great combo, and you will find that he will be more useful without those two turns of sleep.
A thing about the RMT: please change the color of shuckle's section to something else, I can barely read it!

Good Luck with the team!
