- Blaziken makes for an excellent sweeper in GBU singles thanks to Speed Boost and its amazing dual STAB.
- Hi Jump Kick and Flare Blitz are two incredibly high-powered attacks, and Stone Edge rounds out the coverage. Protect allows Blaziken to accrue Speed Boosts without endangering itself, but Swords Dance is usable over that to allow Blaziken to blast through bulkier opponents.
- Life Orb is the obvious item for a sweeper, but an Air Balloon or Focus Sash can also work, allowing Blaziken to always survive at least one hit and attain a Speed Boost. Air Balloon is preferred over Focus Sash because of the prevalence of sandstorm and hail setters, but if Focus Sash is being used, Blaze Kick is preferable to Flare Blitz since the recoil nullifies the Focus Sash.
- Ninetales, or any weather setter besides Politoed, makes a good partner for Blaziken, as its secondary STAB is entirely neutered in the rain, and Swift Swim users can outspeed it even after a Speed Boost.
